The day we arrive it was very full as there was two parties going on so parking was a bit of an issue. We had to park towards the back of the hotel with a 16month old. Unfortunately, the back of the hotel does not have a second entry into the hotel in order to check in. Another guest let us in as he was going to smoke. Other than that, the stay was satisfactory for what we needed that night.

Overall very good quality service and rooms. The staff was extremely friendly and easy to talk to, the beds were firm but not overly firm, and the blankets actually kept me warm unlike other hotels'. Moving rooms after making a new reservation was quick and painless, and the shuttle service to the airport was really convenient! My only gripe would be the fact that they don't offer a free breakfast, they only had quick prepackaged items like muffins and danishes. Would book again!

Checked in and the bed sheetz had blood on them. Got another room and then had the door lock keep sticking. After alreay changing rooms once i didnt want to go down and complain again. I wasnt compensated anything for the first dirty room. Ive stayed here before with no issues but this time i had nothing but issues with the rooms.

Super service, great team and reception. The hotel is located on a very pleasant area close to the airport. When I arrived, there was no shuttle but reception swiftly ensured transportation to the hotel from the airport and I was warmly welcomed by person at reception with a welcome package. The hotel corresponds overall to the photos available on the site, but it feels slightly older, a refresh would be well deserved. The AC worked perfectly but was a bit loud in the room, I could see it as being unpleasant for someone sensitive to noise.

Fresh, good sized rooms. Plenty of storage if you wanted to unpack. Comfortable mattresses. Good temperature control. Quiet area with good Chinese dumpling shop within walking distance and large grocery next door for items I accidentally left at home. Only negative was lack of UBS ports which are available in many hotel rooms.

Very comfortable place. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I stayed in a room with two queen beds. Beds were very comfortable. The room was tastefully decorated and made me feel at home. The shower had strong water flow. There was ample parking. The hotel lobby was very inviting. Lots of seating in the event you wanted to hangout there with a drink from the bar. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely revisit as well as tell friends and family to stay here.

Very comfortable beds, well appointed rooms. Linens not as high quality as some hotels, but everything was clean and the air was fresh smelling as well. Stayed just one night but would also be a good place for a longer stay. Excellent location along Garden State Parkway. Casual dining nearby (fine dining further away).

My stay at the Kenilworth was great. However, what I will never forget is how front desk clerk Ibrahim went above and beyond early in the morning of Oct. 18 when I checked out. I exited the Lyft that he had called for my ride to EWR and panicked to discover that I had left my phone in the back seat. United ground staff Ingrid called the Kenilworth, handed her phone to me, and I told Ibrahim what had happened. He was calm and kind and said he'd call the Lyft driver and would call Ingrid's phone back. I went back out to the curb to see if maybe I had dropped my phone. About 10 min. later, Ingrid came running out and said that the Kenilworth clerk called back to say he'd reached my Lyft driver, who was circling back to the airport to give me my phone. Incredible! I will forever be grateful for the kindness of these three individuals who didn't know each other, but whose kindness worked in tandem to turn what could have been a very bad day into my deep appreciation for their willingness to go above and beyond to help a stranger. The Kenilworth is a great hotel, but what stands out is the excellent customer service, especially from a young man named Ibrahim.

My room phone didn’t work. My coffeemaker didn't work. The staff said there was no one to fix them on a weekend. Aren’t they busy on a weekend? Shouldn’t they have maintenance people available? I asked for the coffee machine to be replaced. They don’t have any spares, and they’re not allowed to switch coffee makers from room to room. The coffee maker in the lobby is only turned on for breakfast. After that, you’re on your own. There is one hook in the bathroom, at the top of the door. I’m short and couldn’t reach it. Nowhere to hang my towels. The staff was clueless and not accommodating at all. I’m disabled and cannot lift my luggage. At checkout I called the front desk for assistance. No answer. I called three times - no answer. I went to the front desk and asked for assistance. The receptionist said she had no one to help me. No offer to find someone, nothing. The head housekeeper came by and said she would help. I waited 20 minutes. No help. I asked the receptionist to call housekeeping again. She did, and finally someone came. Overall a terrible experience. Poorly trained staff, no clue about customer service and stupid hotel policies.

There was no actual shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel, as advertised. This was a huge disappointment as I was counting on it running regularly, like all the other hotels near the airport. Staff at front desk, one older woman in particular, was incredibly unhelpful and quite rude. Her attitude was extremely poor. The room was fine, great size, but the air conditioner/fan in the room was incredibly noisy. The sound from the traffic on the turnpike, which the hotel is close to, never really stops, so the noise was a big issue. All in all it would have been totally fine if the promised shuttle had been running as promised and front desk staff, certain members specifically, had been more focused on providing good customer service instead of having a negative attitude.

The reception employees and managers were a bit dismissive and brusque when issues were brought to their attention. After being given the run around for two days, they resolved my booking issue without any sign that that wasn’t something they could have done in the first place. I requested to speak to the general manager on day one and day two but never heard from her. There were stains on the pillow cases and hairs in the towels and on the bathroom sink. Otherwise, the cleanliness was okay. The decor and everything seems recently updated. There are free cookies, coffee, and infused water in the lobby. The rooms are very sound exposed. It was hard to sleep through the night because the doors to the rooms all shot very loudly at all hours.

Super service, great team and reception. The hotel is located on a very pleasant area close to the airport. When I arrived, there was no shuttle but reception swiftly ensured transportation to the hotel from the airport and I was warmly welcomed by person at reception with a welcome package. The hotel corresponds overall to the photos available on the site, but it feels slightly older, a refresh would be well deserved. The AC worked perfectly but was a bit loud in the room, I could see it as being unpleasant for someone sensitive to noise.

The hotel is very easy to get to, so close to the Highway. Hotel shuttle text guest to Newark airport. Excellent choice if you’re looking for a clean and reasonably priced hotel stay the night before a flight out of Newark. Only a 10 minute walk to a very nice diner.BYOB!!

Very comfortable beds, well appointed rooms. Linens not as high quality as some hotels, but everything was clean and the air was fresh smelling as well. Stayed just one night but would also be a good place for a longer stay. Excellent location along Garden State Parkway. Casual dining nearby (fine dining further away).

This place was just ok. The fire alarm went off twice while we were there. The 2nd time was at 8am after we’d been up late attending a concert in the area, so we were sleeping. No explanation was given to us by anyone working there. The fire marshal mentioned it was an issue with the smoke detectors. The free breakfast was very limited, and there is no onsite guest laundry.

Actual hotel and area was great 5 star. My disappointment was in the free breakfast. Our first day was potato cubes, egg (maybe soft or hard boiled?? Eggs and bacon. Pastry and bagels were from freezer section of discount club store. Very disappointed No waffles! Only “speciality” coffee!

The heating air conditioner in the rooms made terrible noise so one night I could not sleep when I turned it off it was freezing cold in the room. The following day they came to repair it and in fact was much better but still made noise. When I commented about that they told that is the standard noise. They told me the hotel will undergo a refurbishment so I told them why not warn people about it before that the hotel is run down? Of course no answer. I asked for a compensation and I am still waiting for someone to contact me but nothing happened until now. The breakfast was totally basic and simple all plastic cutlery and people had to clean their own tables. Basically a beigel and cream cheese and some other basic simple staff. I would not call this a buffet breakfast at all. Most of the staff was pleasant.

I travel extensively across the country. As of the end of this month, I have about 55,000 flying miles this year; I’ve spent a lot of nights in hotels. In short, this stay ranked as the worst. There was a loud party in the first floor hallway around midnight. It was so loud, profane, and long that we fully expected the front desk staff to both hear it and then see it on the hallway cameras. Apparently not the employee who was working. We checked with the front desk employee in the morning and found nothing had been documented in the incident log. Profoundly disappointing and a deal breaker for any future stays. As to cleanliness, I took a shower the night we arrived and never left the room. In the morning, I jumped in the shower to wash my hair before we left and found the bottoms of my feet were filthy from walking around our room. A clean floor is something every guest just expects as a basic service. Honestly, if the floor isn’t clean, where else are corners being cut? The breakfast was not unexpected for a budget hotel. Although the menu said bacon was available, there was none. This is most certainly a moment when the manager has to sit back and ask the question, “Have I been effective as a leader?”
