Super 8 by Wyndham Alamogordo - White Sands

The motel was outdated. The doors to the rooms were all scratched and grainy. The hallway floors were either older carpet or poor vinyl plank. The back door was unlock able so anyone could enter. The room was fine and still slept well.

Facility was great, clean, great stop over for traveling. What was inconvenient was entrance / stepping out the back door (we parked in the back). The steps were difficult to traverse if you are elderly (as we are) and you’re trying to lift your rolling luggage up those steps. We weren’t the only ones who struggled as we witnessed other elderly travelers also struggling with their rolling luggage.

When I booked the room I didn't know there wasn't an elevator and we was out on the second floor and we had my wife grandmother with us who is 80 years old but lookly she was able to walk up and down the stairs

Had a laundry

Older hotel in excellent condition. Breakfast acceptable.Staff exceptional. Well located.

We had a nice overnight stay here while traveling. Room and hotel were outdated burn overall clean. We felt safe and it was nicely located. Parking lot was easy to get a spot and well-lit. Good price.

Easy parking

Everything about this hotel needed to be upgraded. Everything was dirty and old.

It did the trick for a night - it wasn't terrible. However, the cleaning products they use leave the floors sticky and the doors very oily. I had to wash my hands several times just from touching the door to the room. And the shower didn't drain well.

Clean room friendly staff

Tub was dirty, inside of building was dirty. Bed was clean though. Breakfast was good enough. Staff were friendly enough.

We stayed one night. Older hotel but the rooms were clean. Close to White Sands national park.

Got bitten by bed bugs will not be staying again

I found some garbage in the bathroom and the shower song hair.

The room was somewhat clean. But the bathroom could use more cleaning muscle since the toilet is yellow and the tub could use some scrubbing every time travelers checked out. I thought it was stained but it was slippery so it was dirty. They have a decent breakfast though.

For a quick stay this place was perfect. They were friendly, helpful, affordable and super clean! It was perfect for a night stay and I would stay there again.

It was noisy upstairs sounded like kids walking back n forth.went to bed atb8pm needed to take off early. Finally called about 9pm.. it got worst at 1opm. Didn't go to sleep til about 1pm needed to takeboff by 4am to get back on the road. Ran 2 hrs. Behind..ask to stay upstairs

The rooms are updated and clean. Beds are comfortable. Staff was able to accommodate my needs for a ground level guest room. Overall, Super 8 met the needs of weary travelers’ comfort and rest.

It's a cozy place to stay for 1 night. It's on the other side of the town so if you want to go to white sands national park, you need to cross the town which takes some time. The only complain is the wifi didn't work very well. I can hardly connect to the wifi.

The fan motor on ac unit in room was in need of servicing it is really loud. The room was very nice as was the front desk staff.

I liked it - comfortable, quiet (I had a king room in the back, 2d floor, very quiet), 24h desk and friendly, clean, room a bit on a smaller-sized side, but it worked for me fine. Had a fridge, microwave, hair dryer. Did not use TV. Breakfast was mostly carbs, did have yoghurts. Better than a lot of Super8s I have stayed before. Service was fine and location was convenient for me, near the road, in the city. Did not have any issues. Would stay again.

Good pillows and good Internet

The AC machine was loud and turned to heat in the middle of the night. I understand the desert area may be cold at night, but during the hot daytime, it still heated the room. I tried to switch the machine to cold, but it didn't work. My husband didn't sleep well. I guess you get what you pay for. The price is cheap compared to other nearby hotels with decent reviews.

You hear everything in every room, not an easy place to get rest

Hotel is exactly what you would expect from this brand and price point. With one glaring difference: the staff. When checking in, they are extra helpful and even offered to lend me a sled for using at White Sands National Monument.

I travel often and always pay Expedia at the time of booking—and until now, I’ve never encountered any issues. This was the first time a property contacted me twice after our stay regarding payment concerns. I truly believe this is something that should be addressed directly between Expedia and the property, and not something the guest should have to resolve post-checkout. That said,I want to emphasize that the staff on site were kind and accommodating. Although our check-in took significantly longer than any hotel check-in we’ve experienced, the team eventually noticed how exhausted my kids and I were after a long drive and made the effort to get us into our room as soon as they could. Their courtesy did not go unnoticed, and we appreciated that gesture. However, 5 days later, my card was charged again by the property for a night stay without prior notice despite my already paid booking. I truly hope this was an isolated incident and not a recurring issue. Overall,the property was decent if you're looking for a simple overnight stay. The continental breakfast was light and limited, which we expected given the budget-friendly price point. It would be great to see a few small improvements,perhaps an extra item or two for breakfast and ensuring that essentials like the hot water dispenser are always filled and ready for guests. With a few operational adjustments, this property has the potential to deliver a smoother experience for future guests.

Amazing stay at the Super 8 in Alamagordo. The staff was some of the best I’ve ever had, and let us borrow sleds for White Sands too. The bed was very comfortable.

Place was very dated and dirty looking. No elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up the steps. My toilet was broken and unable to flush the entire time. Told them when I first arrived and a guy came to fix it, but then it broke again as soon as I used it. Front desk person was so busy playing on her phone she didn’t even notice me standing there until I finally said, “excuse me please” to get her to help me.

The room was everything we wanted and the breakfast was good. The staff was excellent, friendly, helpful and very informative about the area.

For years, towards the end of a cross Country drive West, Alamogordo fits my schedule for an overnight. Victor, the owner of this franchised Super 8 has provided a consistent standard of quality and property upkeep. Unfortunately the restaurant next door has closed but his staff will tell you about nearby restaurants.

The staff is great. They make you feel welcomed. The rooms are clean, and comfortable. They had breakfast at 5AM to accommodate all the guests who had to get an early start. Outstanding hospitality and I will definitely stay here again.

We arrived late in the night after traveling on a road trip with family. The staff is very friendly and the location is beside a sheriff’s department which was a nice addition to the safety and security of parking. The breakfast offered with our stay was also nice and convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Property is aging a bit, but everything worked and the room was clean and quiet. A big bonus- it's right next door to the sheriff's office, so felt safe here.

We stayed for a night, and it was a good experience. The location is convenient, with easy access to White Sands NP and nearby restaurants. Check out Pizza 9, they have great pizzas and buffet. The breakfast was good enough to get us started for the day. Overall, it was a good budget-friendly stay.

Breakfast: juice, coffee, hot-cold cereal, waffle, fruit, asst rolls-bread,, jams, p butter, yogurt, cream cheese. The aroma brought you to the breakfast area. Comfy beds, clean n quiet in our room. Pleasant check in and out. On our repeat list.

From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the rooms are clean, the beds are soft and the AC not only works really good, its QUIET! Close to the road so easy to get in and out. Breakfast was nice just your average continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again if I ever needed to. And its quiet!
