Days Inn by Wyndham Tucumcari

Great location right off I40. nice clean quiet room. Was towing a trailer and they had a parking spot for me right in front. Clerk was very helpful and check in was really quick.

The breakfast was great. Rooms were clean.

I should've known this was going to be bad when there was a garbage can blocking the check-in counter and trash strewn behind the check-in desk (see photos). If I hadn't already had a hotels.com non-refundable reservation, I would've done the smart thing and walked out of this ZERO STARS motel. It gets worse. There was NO ONE THERE when I wanted to check in shortly after 4pm. There were numbers on the counter to call. I called all three. No answer. Rang a bell. Opened and closed the door, triggering a chime. Finally, some young kid dressed like he just woke up showed up. I mentioned I'd been waiting. He said he'd been there since 4pm. Basically, he lied to my face, which is one reason I'm writing this. Hey, we've all been late for work, but to have someone who's main function is to make customers' stays go smoothly lie to my face is a little much to take. (See photo of my text to one of the numbers at 4:20.) "Anyway," he finally says, "I'm here now. What do you want?" This kind of I-couldn't-care-less-attitude reflects badly on not only all Days Inns, but also Wyndham. These employees need to be vetted and professionally trained. You don't just grab dudes off the street and stick them at the check-in desk because they'll work for peanuts (see photo of peanut can tossed on the floor behind the check-in desk). For the record, room was okay, but the "breakfast" was a total joke. Just a couple tables in the lobby, and a sign encouraged you to "take it back to your room." Bad!

The hotel was nothing like the pictures. It was absolutely disgusting and dirty, with a strong smell of urine and feces. There were stains all over the pillowcases and bedding they said it was from their dryers. It was actually food stains. And pee stains , and the entire building felt unclean. The tubs, toilet, refrigerator, and microwave were all dirty. I wasn’t looking for luxury—just basic health, safety, and cleanliness, and none of those standards were met. During our stay, a man affiliated with the front-office employee, Veronica, was sitting on the patio and watching us arrive. He approached us, asked what we were doing there, inspected our vehicle, and asked if we wanted to buy drugs. The front office did not mention or address this at any point. Two other people also chose not to stay there. During all this due to having the same problem The experience was extremely unprofessional, dirty, and unsafe.

It is what it is. First room was occupied and second room the bed wasn’t made. The third room the tv didn’t work
