Econo Lodge Elmira-Corning

Very poor hotel. Not maintained well.

Close to 500$ for 2 night stay. Rooms and all areas in poor dated condition and cleanliness clearly an afterthought.

This property looked like it was still under construction. The room was filthy, the air conditioner did not work properly and left a burning smell and high humidity in the room. There was untreated, and unpainted wood to frame the window for the room. The door did not close all the way but enough to lock. The wall on the opposite side of the door hinges was visibly wobbly. We checked in at 9 pm. They originally told us that they didn’t have our room and would upgrade us. After waiting about 45 minutes in the lobby we were told that the original room was still unoccupied and they gave us a key. After entering the room, I noted its condition and reported it to the desk, they refused to make notation of the room or make any accommodation. It’s was too late to find another hotel and I had been driving for about 14 hours at this point. This hotel should be inspected by the health department and fire Marshall.

The bathroom was terrible, rusty and old. I think they are in the process of renovating and once done should be a better option to stay in the area.

First of all we checked in and the key card did not work. The upstairs rooms had been remodeled but we were put in one of the main floor rooms. We put our things in the room and left for dinner. When we came back we realized the dead bolt on the door did not work. The only safety for the door was the door chain ( which was taped together). At that point we said no way were we staying there and went to the front desk. They offered us one of the remodeled rooms but by this point we should have been in one anyway. They did authorize a refund and the girl at the desk was helpful. Either way, we will never stay at an Econo Lodge again!

Property was nice, the front desk lady at check in was very nice and polite. The area has many places toveat but they all close by 10 or so, so if you arrive late, there's nonplace to eat. There seems to be only one gas station, Dandy in the are and even they close at 11pm. I had booked a room with a king size bed, but was given a room with two double beds, next morning I was told that all king size bedrooms were under renovation. All in all the place is decent and newly renovated. And one more thing, the bathrooms are very small, so if you stay here with small children, it will be difficult.

The property is old and so are the amenities but all were working well. It is decent for the price paid but I got no sleep as the people in the next room were very loud till 2am and I had to put up with it. FYI that what you get for the price.

There were bedbugs in our room and it looked like it had never been cleaned.

Run down. Wallpaper pealing. Dust on headboards. Found jellybean, seashell, bobbybin, straw and broken glass or plastic on the floor. Advertised online that there is a free continental breakfast. They had juice and coffee. Online pics are misleading. No compensation offered when reporting the dirty room or that breakfast was advertised.

Great little hotel, close to restaurants, clean and well taken care of

The dirtiest property I have seen. Unclean rooms, broken toilet seat, unclean small towels and no standard bath towel, broken iron stand, very unfriendly staff. No breakfast - even if website states breakfast included. I will not stay at this facility again. Horrible!!!

I have stayed at several Econo Lodges and this one had to be one of the worst. I thought I had booked with the one in Painted Post unfortunately I screwed up my booking. The Econo Lodge in Painted Post I would rate a 4 star, the one in Big Flats (Elmira) I would rate a 1 (only because there was a bed to sleep in). The rack for my clothes fell off the wall when I went to hang up my clothes, there were roaches crawling in the bathroom, the Wi-Fi was very spotty (connection was horrible and I ended up using a hotspot as I had to work), the coffee in the lobby had to have been in the machine for at least 2 - 3 days (it was AWFUL), the housekeeping was very limited (I carried my own trash out and took my towels to the office to receive refreshed ones as I was there for 5 days), the guests around me were loud and obnoxious. This motel could really use an update. If I were to suggest to future visitors stay in Painted Post if you are staying at an Econo Lodge in this area. I tried to change my stay once I realized my error and Expedia told me it would be 24 - 48 hours for approval. I would be gone by then so therefore I had no choice. Never will I make that mistake again!

We had 3 nights booked and left after the first night. Spent an additional $500 to stay somewhere else. Room was disgusting dirty and not maintained. Sheets had cigarette burns on them and stains all over carpet and walls

The night employee checked us in quickly and efficiently. She was very pleasant. Room was clean and i would def return.

Near all stores and dining. Ok for the price point,but could be better. No breakfast. Coffee or juices were available for limited time in the morning. Squeaky bed and pillows could be better.

The room was clean and there was a lot of room to walk around. I just needed a place to stay while passing through. For being right off the highway and in a shopping area, I found it was quiet in the room. I will definitely stay here again

Rooms were clean. Bed was too soft though. Would have preferred a former bed as it was too soft.

It was fine for a weekend away. The bathroom was very tiny and hard to move around door.

We stayed for two nights. Worth the price. clean place. Staff are great. convenient location. Only very noisy air conditioners.

We booked a room with two queen beds, however the beds were not of queen size. They were twin beds. Also, there was cigar smell in the walkway.

Location: close to airport, yet so far…Transportation is limited and confusing. Room: clean, bed comfy. Bathroom light was not working. Grab bar in shower was loose. Room was stuffy when I arrived.

Apparently the manager scares his staff into not letting customers check people in early. I needed to get to a wedding at noon, and the staff didn't want to check me into my room early because the manager would yell at them. I had to book an entirely new room because of this, and it was incredibly inconvenient.

The staff was lovely, the room clean, and it was convenient to everything.

We made a last-minute reservation and the gal at the desk bent over backwards to get us a ground floor room. For the price, we found this property to be one of the best places we stayed on our 10-day trip.

All was good. Great location. Everything for dinner, breakfast. Was worried about airport nearby, but there is a very good sound insulation.

According to the Expedia website, breakfast is supposed to be included and it is not. The hotel is not very clean and smells bad. The first room they put me in had no heat and I was freezing.
