Quality Inn Hyde Park - Poughkeepsie North

The location was convenient for what we needed but the hotel was a little underwhelming. The rooms were clean but small and the fitness center was 3 machines (one didn't work) in an unlit room. The breakfast in the morning was good so that was a bonus.

This hotel is very close to FDR Home and Presidential Center. Unfortunately there is no elevator to the second floor. Small breakfast area. Staff was very courteous.

No elevator. Checked in with cane but no accommodations offered (1st floor room for example). Wanted ice but had to find ice machine on my own. During shower had water up to my calves (poor drainage). Bed was uncomfortable and pillows were oddly square.

The room was too small for a king sized bed so it was difficult to walk around the room without bumping into something. The parking lot not longer has lines in it and has been patched a few too many times (very bumpy).

The tv did not work. There was a sign attached to the tv in room #123 Do not touch the tv-if you do, It will not work.” So I called the front desk rep to my room. He did some things with the remote and got it working. I was there for a conference and didn’t want to go with wrinkled clothes… then the ironing board was rusted old and would not set up. He brought in a newer one. The “gym” was the size of my bathroom/closet-just totally not worth the cost to stay there even if breakfast is offered. The staff is very polite and helpful. The hotel, is outdated, with dingy worn carpet, small whole in the wall in the bathroom and old plastered drywall needs to be replaced. Not sure when the pictures online were taken, but it definitely does not match todays look!

The location is decent but the hotel is a bit rundown. The gym was oddly located and neither of the machines worked properly.

Good for a one-night stay; very convenient to the FDR property. However, no elevator, and back stairs are very narrow and steep; very creaky, needs maintenance.

#1 reason I won't return to this hotel is the maintenance issues. I've never stayed in a hotel this worn down in so many places that would be so easy to fix... the baseboards, rusting, chipped paint. While I never felt "dirty", I had to look away at every turn in the room.. mold in the showers, gaps in the wall where it's falling apart, and weathered fixtures.

Mold in bathroom, tub , hole in tub, we didn’t stay overnight. The bathroom was so gross we would never use it to shower. Never again. Have asked expedia for a refund

Property needs attention in the maintenance/cleaning areas. The staff was helpful and kind.

I was really hoping to not have to leave a negative review but my emails to the manager have been completely ignored. I have stayed in this hotel multiple times and while it is old and in need of some repairs it has always been clean. However, something has changed from my last stay to this one. This is the most disgusting thing that has ever happened in all of my travels. The shower head was covered with mold, I did not notice it until I was already in the shower. I have an attached a picture below. The fan also didn’t work, there was no cover on the light and the doorknob was hanging off the bathroom door. Thank goodness it was me in there and not one of my children. I went to the front desk with my picture and he seemed horrified, he did have someone come up and make repairs but this shower head has clearly never been cleaned. I was told by two different people at the front desk that they have alerted the manager and to reach out to him. My emails and voicemail have been ignored. I understand you get what you pay for but this was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable.

Everything was OK but the room smelled like smoke.

It's old and not clean. My boyfriend had bad allergy reaction to the pillows. It's conveniently located and has a nice dinner nearby. I wouldn't complain too much giving the price I paid.

The bathroom had ants, the TV didn't work, and the WiFi didn't work. I checked in and then immediately left and filed a complaint with Hotels.com the next morning. Only take as an absolute last resort.

The location was perfect for what we needed, but the hotel appeared a bit run down. Inside the wallpaper was ripped, and fixtures seemed old, and not well kept.

Internet was intermittent

Thin walls. I could hear the people on either side of my room and the room above. Someone in the room above was walking in there room until 2:00 in the morning and I could hear every step. I tried to get a drinking glass that was actually made of glass to use instead of the plastic cups in the room. They didn’t have one. And there was no hot water so I had to take a cold shower in the morning.

Rooms are small but the furniture is comfortable and room clean. Very quiet room which is always nice.

We have stayed here many times. Location is good, many places to eat nearby. It's usually quiet, but this last time we had noisy people above us. (having a fight at 1:30 a.m.)

Have stayed here many times. This place is ok. Its quiet and a good location for many tourist attractions. However it's starting to get a little run down. (Needs repairs & updating -better lighting and furniture size to fit rooms)

Couldn’t turn on the shower; was told to press the button on the shower faucet; faucet has no button. Since both of us (2 customers) were not exactly dressed well enough to visit front desk, we asked that they come show us & expressed exasperation there was no sticker x the shower showing how it worked. A mgr quickly came, showed us that you pull down the rim at the OPENING of the faucet (where water comes out) & indeed, the water shifts to the shower vs the bathtub faucet. Who knew? Never seen that before. First person we spoke with when we checked in was only vaguely aware of where we might eat dinner and if we could walk to the home of FDR (the reason for our visit) definitely uninterested in helping. Mgr later chewed me out on the phone for being rude to staff when it turned out we left a cell phone & had already returned home (5 hrs away) before we realized it. While they did call us once (on 1 phone we still had), left no message. Never said “this happens often, we have a system for shipping to you” - instead struggled to explain process, charged us $40 to ship it overnight even though we specified we didn’t need it right away. When I called main Quality Inn customer service 800# to complain, Hyde Park mgt said they had phoned me multiple times about leaving the phone - and later the male mgr read me the riot act about complaining. Very upsetting. We have successfully stayed at many hotels thru Expedia for over 15 yrs, including Europe, and have never experienced this!

Staff was very helpful, particularly with adding staying an extra day due to bad weather in upstate New York.

The front desk person that checked me in was amazing!!!He opened the door so I could get all my luggage in. And was so friendly…. I wish I remembered his name!!!

I was exhaust on arrival, turned off my cell and went to sleep. Unfortunately, the pre-arranged rental was not there when my daughter landed at JFK. Failing to reach me, she called my wife, who reached the Quality Inn. Thunu, the person on duty at 10:15, went to the trouble to hunt down my room and put her through. Happily, my daughter managed to grab the last car at another company.

Helpful staff, easy check in, convenient location

Yes, the Roosevelt Home was very close by. My husband was told that he could not have his service dog in the breakfast room. The next day a clerk followed me out the door as I was taking the dog for a walk and told me the dog could not be staying there, but was later corrected by his boss who was on the phone. The rooms were not ready when we arrived just before 3:00, and we wanted to get to the Roosevelt home as soon as we could because we were worried about a government shut down the following day. The clerk could not even get into the computer because her password had expired. The property does not seem to be very well managed.

Everyone was amazing. The desk people were very friendly and helpful. I can’t say enough for them.

The desk clerk tried to charge me twice for the third night and was exceptionally unhelpful when I pointed out my reservation was for 3 nights,‘not 2. They kept saying this was an Expedia problem, not something they could fix, even though they had the correct information. They were rude and unhelpful.

The location was great, very close to FDR museum and library. Several restaurants nearby. Hotel was a little dated but well maintained.

So close to all the Roosevelt sites. Close to many good brewpubs in Poughkeepsie. Clean, reasonably priced, and professional staff.

The Quality Inn is very well located only a 5 minute walk from the Franklin Roosevelt home and library. It is than adequate - there is nothing great about it, but nothing wrong with it either. There is coffee in the rooms. The breakfast is pathetic. But there is a great diner just down the road from it. It was a great place for meals including breakfast. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Older facility in excellent location for FDR Museum, CIA, Vanderbilt Mansion, Val-Kill. Exceptional value.

The property is in the perfect location for visiting the FDR Presidential Library, The Culinary Institute and Vanderbilt Mansion.

Breakfast was disappointing. The eggs were cold, there was no microwave to heat them. The orange juice was watery. The apple juice was out of order.

Breakfast was a joke. Coffee machine, waffle maker, toaster all off because off some circuit or electrical problem. No milk for cereal either

TV did not work, it was worked on by the person at the front desk but she could not get it to work. Breakfast was OK when there was food, many items were running out and not replenished in a timely manner. Many people waiting to eat, most left to go elsewhere. I will not be back

I was just looking for a clean, safe, and inexpensive place to stay for a night. This place worked. The breakfast was more than I ex[ected and included waffles, juice, eggs, sausage, and fruit.

This was a nice home base for us to explore the central Hudson Valley. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. We were not impressed with the breakfast option and went to a nearby Diner after the first day. The seating area for breakfast was inadequate and the serving space was very crowded. The juice machine wasn't working. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
