Motel 6 McGraw, NY - Cortland

We reserved 2 nights and didn’t stay. We ended up paying to stay at another hotel close by. There was what looked like someone living out of their car in the poorly lit parking lot. Another person wandering around in the parking lot. While clean, the room was VERY outdated and worn.

Not enough proper lighting outside

They were really accomodating with our pets (we travelled with a cat & dog) & had a nice portable crib ready for our daughter!

We were happy with our accommodation over a few nights in Cortland on our way back from Canada. The room was clean and comfortable. The facilities were conveniently located near the town centre. The free carparking outside was a breeze. The staff were friendly and helpful particularly as we were from overseas and not very familiar with the local “customs” and area. We had a good time there and would recommend Motel 6.

We found this motel perfectly suitable for our needs. We made use of the refrigerator and microwave and enjoyed the coffee machine available down the hall by the exercise room every morning. The location was very convenient for us, the beds were very comfortable, and had no issues during our stay.

Very clean and room in great condition. Simple check-in process and easy stay. Ample parking and right off I-81. Would stay again.

I appreciate the fact that there was no extra charge for our dog, and there were grassy areas to walk her. The bathroom was very tiny, but the shower was good. The room was good sized, had plenty of room for an extra chair to sit in (which it lacked). It met our needs for the night, and there was coffee in the lobby in the morning.

Gathering of people at the end of parking lot in chairs- they live there? And large collection of bicycles of all sizes in parking lot- must belong to tenants ??? Lock was broken on ground floor room. Well lit at night.

The guy at the front desk was kind and efficient, but the property is worn down. Non-smoking hallway smelled of smoke, our room’s light wasn’t working and towels were dingy.

Have stayed here often. Staff members are always friendly and courteous, and the room is always very clean. It’s basic, but definitely serves the purpose. The room could use a chair, though. Aside from that, it’s fine.

The actual room was very clean but also as we suspected for a Motel 6, very plain. The bed was comfortable. As typical with a Motel 6 there is no closet, extra pillows, linens, or shampoo. Our room was recently updated. It had a new floor, new bathroom vanity, and sink. The only complaint about the actual room was that apparently this is a motel that still has smoking rooms as an option. The venting system into our bathroom obviously linked into everything else, so when you showered the bathroom stunk of old cigarettes! Even after the shower was off, the smell lingered. The hallway was fairly "dated" and unkept- old carpeting, musty smell, aged doors and dim lighting. The exterior of the building was clearly "dated". Despite the website saying "24 hour desk service", when we arrived (it was admittingly late) the door was locked to the office. I called the phone number with no response and there was no "buzzer" or notification button. Another guest let me into the office space after a period of time. It was about a 5 minute wait inside before someone came to tend to us. There isn't a whole bunch around the motel- a gas station, fire department, and a Dunkin. It was very close and convenient to route 81. If you need anything else, it would be 10 minute drive into town.

The staff was great, but the facility needed a good cleaning. It smelled a little smoky and unclean. Found a beetle on the floor in the room and dirt on the bed. More than likely will not stay here again.

Room was clean and quiet. All that was required for our trip.

The rooms were newly renovated and extremely clean. Nice touches in the lobby and the staff were very friendly and helpful, calling me immediately when I left something in the room. I would highly recommend for an affordable and clean place to stay when looking near Ithaca.

The room was dirty, no amenities (soap,shampoo,lotion,tissues) The room stunk of cigarette smoke and the beds were very poorly made. The mattress didn’t fit on the base and was very uncomfortable.

The staff was pleasant and looked to welcome us. Unfortunately, *we were down-graded when we arrived due to a plumbing issue which is understandable but no one went over our adjustments, just handed us papers. *Upon arrival, our room was very cold and did not warm up even after an hour and a half. We requested another room and went through the same issue. The room finally got to 66 degrees at about 3 am. ugh. *at 1:30 am we were woken to loud screaming in the hallways and my wife was scared. It carried on for quite a while.

Ok place to stay for a few days visit, nothing fabulous. Room was clean, convenient location. They got some full time residents at the hotel. We had someone above us with a couple kids running back and forth making stomping noise over our heads. It was kind of annoying at time, the owner asked the lady upstairs to quiet the kids down, but didn't help at all. Luckily between 11 and 7 it was quiet to sleep.

The bed mattress sunk in when I sat on it and even worse when I laid down, the TV came on fine but then couldn't change the channel with the remote control. Was stuck on the guide the whole time. The bathroom was so small you could take a shower and go to the bathroom at the same time. Rooms seemed very outdated

Our TV didn’t work and tried to fix then after a while had to switch out from another room

Good for what we needed however some of our neighbors were a bit loud

I would suggest they pre-heat the rooms for incoming guests. The girl at the front desk was kinda dumb and not helpful about getting me a warmer room. At least clean room & no bed bugs!

The two women at the front desk (one checked me in at night, the other checked me out in the morning) were both very nice, knew what they were doing, and very happy to offer recommendations of places to eat! The room was renovated and clean while the furniture was a bit worn. The hallway was a mess because it's being renovated. There were small bits of sheetrock, paint scrapings, etc. all over the floor. This should be disclosed during the reservation process.

We stay here often. The staff are always pleasant and helpful, and the rooms are basic, but always clean.

I stay here any time I’m in the Cortland area. It’s a basic, no frills place, but always clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Really enjoyed past stays. Rooms are generally clean, good heat (hate being cold) and beds! Booked two rooms this time. One room had a clogged sink. The other room a clogged toilet. Overnight staff handed us a plunger, smh. Had to move rooms. Both rooms need some tlc. I’ll still stay here but was a little disappointed with this particular visit!

The hotel manager was friendly and exceptionally quick to offer assistance when necessary. The housekeepers were super helpful and kind.

I had a family emergency and had to cancel my Thursday night reservation early in the morning. The manager said I book it through Expedia, so I had to cancel through them. I have never had a hotel tell me this regardless of Expedia booking. Expedia tried for 2 weeks to call them and never got an answer, then told me they had no choice but to leave it as is. The staff of the motel were professional and pleasant. The room was nice and clean. The only issue was that the room heater didn’t function. The surrounding area was next to a highway and train line and didn’t seem very well kept.

It is a basic hotel. No frills. It is not in an area you would want to walk in near dark. Just outside of Cortland and easy to get to. The TV didn't work so we were moved to another room with no hassle. The staff was pleasant and easy to work with.

Overall the stay was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful when needed. I wish there would have been a recliner of some kind in the room to relax. My only disappointment was with the channel selection for the TV. I really enjoyed the location as it was close to what we needed.

This is a convenient place to stop, easy-on and easy-off interstate 81. It’s a basic, no frills hotel, but always clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating.

The staff at the front desk was pleasant. The room was dirty. The TV even had a sticky grime on it. There was what appeared to be blood stains on the cover to the box spring. No in room coffee but was told there was some available if you were in the lobby before 10am. Checkout was 11 so didn't bother going down. TV remote didn't work and had to have front desk staff come turn it on. Was told it was finicky. Didn't bother changing channels because it was so aggravating.
