The parking had large pot holes, the "garden" had not been tended to, all things were dead. The rooms smelt stale. The AC unit ran constantly, it never shut off. There were no towels for the pool. There was no syrup for the pancakes-waffle breakfast

Overall a pleasant experience that meets expectations. Breakfast was nothing to write home about but convenient given there isn’t anything within reasonable walking distance. No kitchen seems to be onsite so breakfast is prepared in a closet, mostly microwaved foods. The staff at the front desk were readily available to assist. The pool was nice as well, especially for this kids. This hotel is not very accessible (no elevator, no automatic doors).

We stayed for three nights and were VERY disappointed in the experience based on the price we paid ($600). The pool heater was broken for the whole stay and the pool was frigid. The pool was the primary reason I booked this hotel and would have booked a less expensive option if we had been notified before check-in that the pool was not usable. The front desk person told us "I'm just a part time employee, do you want me to check you out since the pool is not working?" when I asked if the pool would be repaired at all for the weekend. Additionally, there was no housekeeping available for our three night stay, acknowledged only by a note slipped under our door that they did not have housekeeping available. Breakfast was mediocre and the sheets on the bed had stains. Location was great.

Location was good. Breakfast room was fair. But not as clean as it should have been. Ice machine was not working and had a Temporary out of order sign on it as did the washing machine and a few other things that were out of order for some time by looking at the condition of the tape and the signs they had been there awhile.

Listing mentioned electric vehicle EV chargers at hotel, but they are no longer working, bummer! Hotel is pretty dated, could use updates. Furst room i wss assigned had flooded bathroom. But im still giving it 3 stars because guy at front desk was super helpful, second room he gave me was fine, and breakfast was fine.

My bare feet stuck to the carpet everywhere that I walked in my room. A number of things are old, broken, and rusty. Like our bathroom vanity light, our room door looked like a pry bar has once opened it and they painted over the damaged door. The staff was very nice and friendly and breakfast was okay. Wish they had a hot tub, the pool was chilly. Adults prefer a hot tub while the kids play in the pool.

We stayed in room 107 the toilet was wobbly and the shower cutain was stained and smelled mildewy. They cleaning people only brought in clean towels every day, but did not clean the room or change the bedding. The breakfast room were dirty, only the desk clerk working so the tables were never cleaned. When i checked out a note was on the desk that they clerk has step away so i left the key on the desk with 5 other key from others guest. For 572 dollars it was nit worth it, we expected more from best western. Needless to say I will not be stay at best Western again.

We arrived at the property and noticed that the parking lot hadn’t been plowed. We were getting stuck and had to shovel out our parking spot. Our bathroom was on a lower level of cleanliness. There was mold on the bottom side of the shower. Very subpar stay for a Best Western.

The smell in the room was terrible, dirty carpets, couldn’t bring ourselves to spend the night there!

Not clean ,smelled very bad ,musty ,moldy ,thought about sleeping in my car. Water stains on bathroom ceiling, dusty coffee maker,hallway smelled like the strongest of Ax mens spray.Breakfast there was enough mix for 1 waffle, then ran out at 6:30am.sausage was not brown ,it was cold. I would not stay at this location again. Needs to be updated, new floors,get rid of the old carpet, paint and clean the room .

Staff very friendly; breakfast included, not fancy but very convenient; pet allowed is a big plus; cleaning crew did great job. A big drawback is the facilities maintenance, in particular moisture management. We moved into a room where the carpet is partially wet, soon discovered that they did a deep cleaning for pet occupants previously (which is great), but let us in without putting enough time and effort to dry the room. The bathroom doesn’t have ventilation so each shower will increase the moisture level in the whole room; there are two water stained tiles in the bathroom. Really wish the hotel management can make a big push to get the moisture issue corrected, as many others have already mentioned.

Unfortunately this hotel has seen better days. It is in rough shape and definitely needs to be spruced up. When we arrived it smelled of urine in the hall. Perhaps from a dog accident. It did get cleaned up during our stay, but that was very off putting. The front desk folk were nice and welcoming and we have no complaints about the service. This place definitely needs to be updated though

The pictures make it look much nicer. It's very dated. Windows were dirty. Breakfast was a nightmare. Crowded and everyone running into each other and cutting in front of people. Hot breakfast was biscuits and gravy. No eggs except hard boiled that were peeled and put into plastic sandwich bags..kind of weird.

It was not the best the beds are hard and very uncomfortable, however everything else was decent.

Very outdated and was given a handicap room with bo shower door or curtain - so strange!!!

It was very over priced for the quality of the hotel. It was dated and not super well kept. The carpets felt wet, beds were hard and uncomfortable. There was no fan in the bathroom so it turns into a steam room when you shower. Little fixes could make a big difference.

Where do I start - overall, 2.5/5. Outdated overpriced not well-kept place. Bumpy flat pillows, small uncomfortable beds (not sure they’re Queen size), thin blankets, very noisy AC units, not working coffee machine and fan… stand up shower with curtains that not closing good enough so we had to take care of a huge poodle of water after each use… breakfasts are 3.5/5. Nice staff trying to accommodate despite all above. The bottom line- Will not be staying again

The curtain was broken so I couldn’t close it all the way for privacy. The room was outdated and old. I don’t think the quality was worth the price.

Everything is very old and dated. Sheets are worn thin and dingy. Flooring is worn and dirty. No USB ports and limited electrical outlets. Lighting is only 3 table lamps so room is dark.

Good location. Our room was in the back, so it was quiet. Rooms in front may not be. We liked our bed and the size of the room, but there wasn't enough lighting. Along with this, the shower was poorly designed and the coffeemaker didn't work. Also, the hotel stairwells were dirty.

A bit dated and worn, but kept clean and in a good location (Lake Placid side of Saranac Lake).

The room was small, and had 2 double beds instead of 2 queens like some other similar hotels. Overall hotel appeared rather run down. Indoor pool was pretty cold (even though the room it was in was warm), so uninviting for apres ski except for the kids. Breakfast options were limited, pancake maker didn't work. A local water main break on day 2 caused some headaches which were beyond their control, and hotel staff and management worked hard to keep guests comfortable, so I applaud that. Overall felt like it was not good value for the money spent.

Liked free breakfast and pool for kids. Very friendly staff.

Check in time was for 3. When I tried to check in after driving for hours with my child I was told it would be done until 4, maybe 5. I couldn’t check in until around 530 in the evening. My kids were tired and I had things that needed to go in the room. The lady at the front desk said she would call me when they were done cleaning the room and she never did. The room smelled like mildew and was musty. The floors were SOAKED and wet. Had to wear shoes the entire time in the room or out feet would be wet with who knows what. The breakfast was gross but it was free so I cannot complain too much. She said there would be eggs and bacon and there was not. There was sausage gravy but no biscuits when we went down. No eggs, no bacon. There was a yogurt machine which gave like 3 plops of yogurt when the button was held. Overall, 300 a night was far too much for this place. Pool had dirty debris in it. Unsure what it was.

Staff I interacted with were patient and helpful when I asked questions regarding room cost and area resources. Room was clean and practical for overnight x 3 accomodations. Will certainly stay again if in the area, and would have no problem recommending to others.

1st room given clearly had just had someone sitting on the bed with the bed set up for sitting - and was not ready-staff then went and "checked" the room -then said the room was ready-how could it be cleaned in the 5 minutes they spent "checking" it?! Bizarre!!! They just fluffed up the bed that someone had been sitting on and said the room was ready! It was 2 hours past check in time. I refused the room because I thought it would be gross to sleep in a bed someone had just been sitting on or doing whatever. I was given a new room that was better. Entire building needs a deep cleaning and furniture in my room was dingy, scratches in the table. Others mentioned the blast of bleach smell when you walk into the place - it is because the laundry is next to reception. Also beware - the coffee at the breakfast comes out of a Nescafe machine...I couldn't drink it. There is a Keurig in the room also luckily. It was quiet and I did sleep so if that is all you need this is your place.

I was in town from Wisconsin visiting my son. The staff was great, and the hotel room was clean. I enjoyed my stay.

The young lady who checked us in was excellent. We left our vehicle in Lake Placid and biked about 20 miles on the Adirondack Rail Trail and doubled back to the hotel. It was conveniently close to the trail and some very good restaurants.

Excellent location on a main road..5-10 min into Saranac Lake, and 10 min to Lake Placid. Nice, clean rooms. Great staff. Pet friendly.

Good location, easy 15 minute drive to Lake Placid at a much lower price than hotels in that area. Good dining options downtown on main street.

It was clean, included free self-parking and provided free continental breakfast every morning from 6:30 to 9:30 AM. I enjoyed my stay and satisfied with the room space. It included a mini fridge and microwave which was helpful. The staff were nice and refill some breakfast items. There are some restaurants around and a Aldi store.

This place is convenient and perfectly located in between Saranac and Lake Placid. However the hotel itself is rundown. The room smelt moldy and dirty. The shower was fithy. The hotel had very little to offer. Their breakfast included of bagels/toasts/cereal and some fruits available. The eggs were not edible. I refused to eat it as it looked like it was plastic and fake. They did not have regular coffee as they ran out and only had decaf our whole stay there. Overall, it was not worth what they are charging for. I am disappointed with Best Western to allow their name to be used.

Breakfast options were very limited. No Bread. They kept Frozen bagel for breakfast. On a Long weekend holiday, they ran out of Milk and kids could not even have a milk and cereal

The room was extremely clean and it was very quiet. The bed was sooo comfortable and I slept well. The shower water was hot and that’s a plus for me. Towels and clothes were plentiful and clean. My ONLY complaint was the breakfast. Not a lot of options and the food was not good at all. I just ate at the local McDonalds! Other than that. I had a WONDERFUL STAY! 9/10. Would recommend!

Check in was fine and staff was friendly and professional, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was marginal in quality and quantity. Oatmeal packets, honey oat cereal and cocoa puffs were the only (sugary) cereal options. Waffle maker provided. Bagels and white bread were the only toast options. No pastry or muffins. Yogurt thru a dispenser. No fresh fruit. Though there was a duel heated tray apparently intended for eggs on one side. None were offered both days we stayed. On the other side were biscuits one morning and sausage links the next. (Im not sure why biscuits would be offered without eggs or gravy). No lids for coffee are provided. Room was clean. Bed was better than average. TV worked fine. The refrigerator was fine, though a lot of buildup of ice on the mini freezer door. There looked to be unfinished work in our bathroom with a couple of large patches on the drywall. All of the above would not deter me from staying again. However, the following is a deal breaker. The room we had was humid. There is definately a moisture issue. We hung our towels, but they never dried. After walking on the carpet, we could feel the moisture on our socks. Clothes in our suitcase were not as fresh as when we packed them. After two days, the envelope supplied to leave a tip (which we did), was the texture as paper left in a musty basement. For this reason alone, we would never return without assurances the moisture issue was fixed.

Our stay was ok. Pleasure trip during leaf peeping season. Beds were comfy. Room was ok. Breakfast questionable. Upon arrival the night before, the breakfast bread box was housed on the floor in the front desk area. The breakfast prep area for staff is a small closet that looked to be very unkept/unsanitary. This hotel is older and has been somewhat renovated. The ice water available at the front desk was wonderful. This property is near a beautiful walking/biking trail which we enjoyed. Not many staff working however those we ran across were pleasant.

The pillows were uncomfortable, and the breakfast buffet was pitifully lacking in almost everything (cereal dispensers empty, waffle batter nearly empty, eggs stuck to the pan, no plates available…) Pool was nice. Room was clean and otherwise comfortable.
