The pool area is really nice and clean the hot tub was perfect temperature and many families were taking advantage.

Excellent customer service! The pool is maintained very well. Clean, crystal blue, no abnormal odors or too strong of bleach, and the slides into the 8ft deep end are a fun addition for the kids. Also love that the pool opened so early and closed late at 11 as well as checkout at noon. Didn’t see any liter and each morning the staff could be seen cleaning up the rooms. While we could hear the train when outside, we never heard the train while in our room. The only reasons for four stars is because while the employees were kind and helpful at breakfast when I seen a small child spilled their drink, there were no options of bacon or sausage. There are also only hard boiled eggs. Aka breakfast only contained carbs with hard boiled eggs for protein. Also there is only one pancake machine that works very slow. The only other negative is the parking spaces are a tight squeeze for larger vehicles but there are a few parking spots off to the side with more space. Overall this place was perfect for my family and we will certainly stay here again for all future trips to Cedar Point.

I almost always go here for Cedar Point. The hotel is well run. It is clean, in good repair, bug free in the rooms, has a nice pool & hot tub. Breakfast is decent.

Stayed for a weekend to visit Cedar Point. Hotel quiet, conveniently located. Breakfast was pancakes, bagels, assorted muffins, oatmeal, juices - nothing fancy but enough to start day. Pool closed for season, but looked like it would be refreshing - it had a slide and hot tub. Will stay again

This motel had all the basics and everything you really need for a night or two when visiting the theme park near by. The pool and hot tub were clean. The staff was very nice and attentive. It does not have elevators to the second floor rooms (unless we somehow missed them) and parking is a little tight. Decent price for location and amenities.

Family-friendly motel with large outdoor pool /hot tub that includes two slides. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were in pretty good condition. Breakfast could be improved a bit.

I always stay hear. It is close to Cedar Point. The price is decent. I love the outdoor hot tub. Breakfast is good as well. The rooms have what you need, are clean, and in good shape.I have never had a problem here and I recommend checking this place out for Cedar Point.

The room was a typical room. It doesn't have a workout area or indoor pool. If your just looking for a place to stay it was fine.

They put a lot of detail into this property. They were hanging flower baskets, and the railings were pristinely painted. Although the property was a bit older, you can tell they had a lot of pride in it, and it was very comfortable and very clean.

Not much to.like about the property. Stayed for 2 days room never cleaned, blood and bugs in the tub, no soap in the dispenser. Lights flickered when they worked. Was not a very clean establishment and not worth the money they charge.

Overall it was an okay hotel. The property was well maintained but the room itself left a lot to be desired. The beds and table were clean, however, it is clear that it is a very basic cleaning done as many areas, like floors, baseboards, lights, mirror, etc were covered in dust/grime Check in is weird - no one is available and you have to call (not great when you’re coming from out of town). Didn’t receive a very warm welcome and felt like an inconvenience. The next morning we had someone walk in our room at 11am. Felt like we were being rushed out. Overall, it was an alright stay but I probably wouldn’t return.

Perfect stay for a family trip. Spotlessly clean, super helpful staff, beautiful garden, fun outdoor pool. Not luxurious, but had absolutely everything we needed. Very well maintained. Excellent price. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Sandusky.

They didn't change the sheets and the room was dirty from the last person. There was no soap or shampoo. They stopped by to get trash, didn't do any cleaning, and smoked in the room. Honestly, it was a mess and I we will never stay there again. 0 stars

Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff.

The good: I really like the alarm clock, it had 2 powerful and functional USB charging ports, 2 AC power outlets, and it worked as a Bluetooth speaker. The water stayed hot through many long showers. Breakfast was pretty good, not great, but good. Even had a pancake making machine. The bathroom sink's vanity mirror is massive and very nice. Appreciated the wall mounted lotion dispenser. The room had some updated tile in the bathroom area and the carpet seemed recently installed. The bad: We stayed in #211 and the wall shared with 210 is PAPER THIN. You can hear every conversation, laugh, and certainly every outburst. We even heard the loud kids in 209. The window heater/AC unit seems to funnel sounds right into the room. The affordability of this hotel seems to attract loud people. I am not saying that loud people or families with loud people don't spend more, but in Sandusky they like this hotel. The TRAIN! There seems to be a train passing about every 30 minutes in the morning. Even white noise didn't help The main door is hard to open, you have to shove it to get it. First time I through my door's lock was busted. The room seemed clean at first, but then cheese puffs and unwrapped hard candy were found just on the edge of the bed skirt. The bathroom walls had random human hairs. The room was mostly clean, but these items were missed. The TV's sound just randomly stops on all channels after about 20 to 40 minutes. Switching it on and off seems to be the only fix.

Stayed here as it was just a few miles from Cedar Point. The room was clean and plenty of towels. The walls are rather thin and I could hear someone coughing in the room next to mine. The bed was very firm and not comfortable for me (might be fine if you like firm mattresses). The shower head was way too low. I'm 5' 10" and it was pointed near my shoulders. I literally had to do a back bend just to get my hair wet. If you're short, it won't be a problem. Also, the tub drained slowly in my room. Might not be an issue in other rooms, just what I experienced. I probably won't stay there again for those reasons

Very clean. Comfortable bed.

Air conditioner was very loud and we couldn't turn off auto mode so it got hot at times. Towels are very thin and scratchy. For goodness sake, change out the odd hair dryers! Only access to 2nd level rooms are open metal stairs. If I'd known this I would have requested a lower level room. Be aware, a train runs nearby in the middle of the night, blowing its whistle. Not the fault of property, but woke us several times. I really wanted to be able to give a good review, the staff was very nice. But i wouldn't recommend.

5 minutes from Cedar Point! The staff was friendly and the pool was fantastic after a long day of walking the park (closed at 11pm!). Breakfast was mini muffins/donuts/cinnamon rolls, bagels/toast, pancakes, fresh fruit and yogurt. The air conditioning worked well and there was a fridge/microwave on the room. Only issue I had was the door was difficult to lock, the bathtub was old and the parking was tight. I would def stay here again!

Good place just not the softest beds

Hotel was very basic and good for the price and considering we only used the room to sleep. If you are spending any time in the room I would say to upgrade to a larger hotel. The rooms have been updated but the outlets are going to be a fire hazard if not updated. Our chargers would not stay in the majority of the outlets as they were very loose. Husband wanted me to bring that up as could be a fire hazard if left like that much longer.

Very nice little place. SUPER close to Cedar Point, front desk people were very nice. They actively keep the pool area and stuff very clean. It feels very safe. Room feels a little dated but thats ok. It is very clean and it has AC so after a long day at the park thats ok

This was our second stay this season. Kids absolutely love the pool and hottub. Friendly staff. I requested first floor when we arrived because I have an arthritic foot. He said the place is booked but when we were by the pool, waiting to check in at 4pm, the manager made the change and put us on the first floor. The family that owns the place really tries to accomodate their guests. Thank you so much.

Checked in to the hotel after Cedar Point closed at midnight. Desk clerk was very friendly and supplied us with some bottled water. The room was clean and the bathroom looked like it had been remodeled at some point. The breakfast was basic but fine for us since we don't usually eat breakfast. The hotel is very close to Cedar Point.

Staff were exceptionally helpful and kind! They made everything a breeze. Pool and hot tub were a bonus a d even open late. Absolutely would stay here again. Shower head was a little short for taller people but was manageable.

The hotel is great. It’s classic and charming and well-kept. The rooms were clean, updated, and comfortable. However, we accidentally left some things in the room and it’s been an impossibility to reach someone at the hotel to try to get them back. Either you get an offsite reservation center or no one answers the phone at the hotel.

Just a wonderful and well maintained hotel with a lovely staff. Everything was clean and well made. Beautiful landscaping. I can't say enough about how nice and welcoming the staff is. We'll definitely stay here again.

Staff were not pleasant. Room was very dated and any repairs done were not done well. Could not check out due to counter not being manned. Had to call and leave a message to let them know we left.

When I booked, it said that my card would not be charged until check in. I had planned on using a different card than the one I used to reserve the room. When I got there and presented the front desk person with my preferred form of payment, he said that they already charged my card 2 days before. He then proceeded to argue with me and refused to refund my card and run the other one. He said the reserve now pay later was an Expedia thing and he did not have to honor it. I was quite irritated.

Good stay at South Shore Inn. We were there for one night and it’s close enough to downtown with decent amenities. The pool and hot tub were nice and the free breakfast was a plus. Room was clean and parking was convenient.

Great place to stay when visiting Cedar Point, less than a five minute ride. Rooms are clean and comfy. Plenty of nearby food options. Pool and hot tub are open till 11pm every night, bring your own pool towels though, they are in short supply.

Breakfast was nice but wish they had hot eggs and a meat. The cook made sure the breakfast area was clean. They don’t sell alcoholic beverages in lobby. Overall, very comfortable stay. Great price. Would stay again!

The continental breakfast was terrible. No waffle maker, just a pancake machine that made cardboard like pancakes. No meats or warm eggs. Cold boiled eggs in a refrigerator only. Coffee machine also terrible. The highlight of their breakfast was a banana The maid didn’t even pick up used towels from the floor or make beds. Maid service was leaving a few new towels and emptying the garbage can. Otherwise I wouldn’t have known anyone was in the room at all. The train nearby goes through all hours of the night. Beware!

We enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and average sized for a family of 4. The complimentary breakfast was perfect - the space was very clean and was maintained (refilling and replenishing food) the whole time. The location was perfect for visiting Cedar Point. We will definitely stay here again!

My son loved the pool and the slides. Service was great. Breakfast was small and didn't have a lot of options, but the pancakes were good and we appreciated the free breakfast. Our bed had a small spot that was dirty on the comforter, but it was late and we didn't want to make a big deal about it. The rest of the bed looked clean and the room looked clean. The mattress was uncomfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Room was comfortable and free of smells and bugs. Pool was fun and entertaining. Breakfast was delicious they offered pancakes, different breads and muffins, yogurts, cereal, oatmeal, and hard boiled eggs. Coffee OJ and apple juice were delicious too. Room AC blew so cold and you could feel it across the room 10/10 will be staying again

Vending machine was out of order. Morning breakfast was okay. Plenty of pancakes with 2 automatic pancake machines. Yogurts, bananas, pastries, cereal, etc. No breakfast meats. Good coffee. Nice lady taking care of the breakfast area. Everything was clean, and the pool looked nice. After a big day at Cedar Point Ammusement Park, the location was nice and close. Beds were comfortable. Nothing fancy, just a nice room and a decent bathroom and shower.
