Overall the stay was good. Check in was slow, no one at the desk for about 30 minutes, then they could not find my reservation. There is a weird smell in the hallway on first floor. The hot tub was out of order. Also there is no hot breakfast as advertised, they gave us frozen jimmy dean sandwiches we could microwave. But overall room was nice, spacious, clean. The kids loved the pool and the basketball court.

This hotel is a bit shabby but clean, safe, and overall quiet. What really killed the 5-star rating was the Internet speed: "up to" 10mbps, shared between all stations on the network means that the hotel wi-fi was effectively useless. The gym was adequate but the equipment old and deteriorated: the one (of two) treadmills that worked had a missing "increase speed button" and was difficult to operate, and the battery reserve on the elliptical was dead, so the machine reset if you stopped moving for an instant or reversed stride direction. The rooms were clean, and amenities were as advertised. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was barely adequate, with one super old, crusty bottle of CoffeeMate serving as the sole source of creamer for the tepid coffee. Tea offerings were black Lipton only, and the choices were limited to one type of bagel (everything), one type of muffin (prepackaged vending-machine style blueberry muffins), Yoplait yogurts, cheap granola bars, and apples wrapped (weirdly) in plastic. There was also cereal, but the one source of milk was a small glass cooler that was left unrefrigerated on the counter for multiple days before being switched out, so we passed on that option. This looked like an old, out-of-repair hotel that was being slowly revived, but it could also have been corporate cost-cutting. This hotel is on its way to either a 2-star or a 5-star rating, depending on whether the owners are trying to revive it, or bleed it dry.

This is not a fancy place, but it is a good value. Some of teh carpet in common areas needs to be replacedc. The hot tub by the pool wasn't working and hasn't for months we were told. Breakfast was as expected but tasty. We would stay here again. Our room was large and quite.

Overall great property. The pool was nice! My only complaint was breakfast not taken care of at all. The fd had to do breakfast to and it was a lot on 1 staff. We went for kings island so it was nice. Will book here again

My tire got slashed in the middle of the one night I stayed (based on what the mechanic said and me knowing there were zero issues with tire pressure the night before). The property did not have any cameras of the parking lot either and were not helpful in the matter. There were some people loitering around the room entrance where you had to show your room key to get in, and one of them followed us inside. The hotel had several false fire alarms going on in the same day. I had made a reservation for 2 nights for my kids and I but we left after the first night.

Safety was my main concern. My car was broken into while parked in the parking lot. The room next to me sounded like they were about to get into a physical fight. I reported both to the hotel and their corporate office but nothing was done. Hotel also had a smell to it. Hallway in particular smelled like rotting food. My room was non-smoking but had a smell of smoke. Room was clean otherwise.

This was a great stay! Our family loved the huge rooms and were able to spread out. Beds were comfy. And just can't say enough about the space in the rooms. The only complaints I had were that the breakfast was not that great. But maybe that was because of Labor Day weekend. And there was a strong smell of pot in the hallways at times. Other than that, it was a great stay. The pool was very nice too!

This was the cleanest hotel I've stayed at in awhile. The entire staff was so nice and helpful. They even accommodated an early check in and check out so my kids could enjoy the Pool more. I highly suggest staying here. I would add more pictures, but i realized my family was in them. But it's exactly like the website.

I want to first say the checkin lady was great but unfortunately our stay was not. Upon entering the door of the building of our room, the hallway smelled horribly of nauseating rotting trash. When we got to our room the bathroom had mold in it and the mattress topper for the sofa bed had blood stains on it with the kids running up and down the halls this was enough for us to check right back out and book at another hotel

For what it is, it's a nice hotel. Inexpensive while not being a dump. Staff was nice. My only complaint is the outside doesn't match the inside. The outside and the lobby look good and fresh, the hallways and the room (at least the one I stayed in) were a bit worn down and my room smelled like cigarette smoke. Overall, a nice stay for what it was.

Got to the room went to unpack and get comfortable when we spotted a bed bug in the couch and then a few more on the mattress.. no protective covers on the furniture.. very disappointed.

The most disgustingly dirty hotel I have ever stayed in. Burn marks on the furniture from cigarettes, stuff smeared on the headboard. The baseboards were filthy. Fold out couch was also quite dirty. This place obviously gets long term people staying here. There were 10 people sitting in their chairs right outside the doors smoking.

One bedroom suit was very spacious and clean, with comfortable sitting area. Kitchen area was stocked with dishes, utensils, and glassware. Good separation of sitting/dining/kitchen area from bedroom. Also nice to have two separate sinks in bathroom/vanity area..

Rooms are spacious and well kept. Love the hardwood floors. Staff was excellent and helpful. They have a nice breakfast area with light snacks, bagels, coffee and refreshments. Highly recommend. They also welcome pets which is a huge bonus.

Hotel was dates but our room was in excellent condition and the staff were very friendly! I’ll definitely be coming back, the boys loved how close the basketball courts were, so when the pool closed at 8 they had something else to keeep them from being bored in the room :)

It was….okay. Pulling up the cleaning ladies were outside giggling when I had trouble getting out of the car and walking in. There isn’t really a sign of where to go to check in. It definitely worked for what we needed it to. The breakfast was probably one of the worst that I have been to at a hotel. Thee hot items” are frozen breakfast sandwiches to heat up in the microwave. The dishwasher kept making noise the whole time and as far as I can see there is no off switch so it just beeps? Some people in the pool said they live there for 3,000 a month? It is weird in a sense that I feel like it’s a apartment community and not a hotel…I did end up with big bites all over me so idk if it’s fleas from when someone else was there? -I can provide pics if wanted. I don’t think it’s bed bugs. Now for the good. The air kicked ass! The pool was open an hour later than it said which was nice. Unfortunately their hot tube is closed and looks like it has been for a while. It would have been a GREAT addition to my stay-please consider reopening. The lobby is actually really nice! And when I get older ( currently in early 40’s) I want to be like the group of older elderly ladies that were waiting everyday for the pool to open with cigarettes and beer in hand. We LOVED their music and how they were just living it up. ☺️

It is weird in a sense that I feel like it’s a apartment community and not a hotel…I did end up with big bites all over me so idk if it’s fleas from when someone else was there? -I can provide pics if wanted. I don’t think it’s bed bugs. Now for the good. The air kicked ass! The pool was open an hour later than it said which was nice. Unfortunately their hot tube is closed and looks like it has been for a while. It would have been a GREAT addition to my stay-please consider reopening. The lobby is actually really nice! And when I get older ( currently in early 40’s) I want to be like the group of older elderly ladies that were waiting everyday for the pool to open with cigarettes and beer in hand. We LOVED their music and how they were just living it up. ☺️

This was the cleanest hotel I've stayed at in awhile. The entire staff was so nice and helpful. They even accommodated an early check in and check out so my kids could enjoy the Pool more. I highly suggest staying here. I would add more pictures, but i realized my family was in them. But it's exactly like the website.

Staff was unreachable when needed for thinga auch as additional towels etc due to no maid service on weekends,breakfast bar consisted of apples and cereal as they would only put out a few of the other items such as bagels and muffins. The hotel was not family/kid friendly as it seems to be the party spot especially late night in the parking lot.

We stayed two nights at Sonesta ES as we were in town for our son’s surgery. We would not stay here again. They do NOT have hair dryers in the rooms as advertised. When we inquired, we were told that they had none. The first floor and areas around the entry doors reeked of pot the entire time. There was very little food available in terms of the breakfast, and we arrived 1.5 hours BEFORE it supposedly ended. See the photos attached for room/hallway highlights. Photo 1 shows how they try to make the rooms smell better: The pink object is a toilet bowl freshener that’s but cut into a smaller price and shoved inside the heat register. It was in both registers in the room, so this was purposeful. Photo 2 shows how they ‘sanitize’ the room. So silly. Do you really think that they change these baggies on two remotes every room turnover? I’m guessing that this started with Covid and has never changed, despite the fact that Covid isn’t spread this way. 🙃 Finally, photo 3 is a hallway light. Many of the lights look like this. Now, when we did complain at check out, they did comp us one night. So, there’s that. But, we would not recommend this hotel and it is far below the 8.6 out of ten stars reported on Hotels.com.

The first room we were in the tv did not work. When we called the desk to let them know we were told maintenance would be in in the morning. My husband told them that was not right. They switched us rooms and when we went to the front desk to get a new key the employee was very rude and threw the card key on the counter. We were only given a few towels for a family of five. When we asked for more we were only given four and told that’s all they had left.

I arrived at 9:00pm on 5/17/23 to Check in and stood for 15 minutes before the front desk arrived. While waiting with another customer, I called the front desk in hopes that the staff would hear the phone, but no one came. When the front desk worker (Carl) came back, he simply stated, oh I forgot to put the sign up, my bad. He never even apologize for having us wait. Once he started checking me in, he was rushing me through the information. This was my worst experience ever checking into a hotel.

I checked in at 11 p.m. and, upon entering the room, I found a tube of mascara on the floor. When I used the bathroom, the toilet made a loud noise. I was too tired to deal with it that night. The next morning, maintenance came in. He attempted to fix it and then ran from the room, stating it was fixed. That was not the case. My room was the middle room of three conjoined rooms. Both occupants in the conjoining rooms were basically in my room. One neighbor, who smoked the entirety of my stay, was entertaining women (yes, plural) of the oldest profession - I heard their negotiation of rates. The other neighbor was hosting a party. At 11:30 p.m., I called the front desk to complain about the noise from the party. I was informed they were "on it." That proved false, as the party continued past 1 am. When I checked out, the desk clerk asked about my stay. I expressed my disappointment. She was kind and acknowledged that they were sorry to hear of my issues during my stay. She did comp one night. However, there was a lack of motivation to address concerns. Another guest was behind me when she expressed that it is challenging to address smoking in rooms. He pointed out that I had TOLD her the exact room number who was smoking. The room type I had reserved wasn’t available when I arrived, so they gave me an upgraded suite for no extra charge, and it was truly beautiful. Separate living room, very clean bathroom, nice kitchenette, very comfortable king bed, and an electric fireplace. Both the property itself and the customer service are highly recommended.

We liked the cheerful paint colors and the way they chose to decorate the facility. Very clean bedding! Friendly, helpful staff. We would definitely recommend to others. Not much to walk to in terms of restaurants or dining. Seems to be nestled in a clean, industrious area.

The location was good. We had easy access to all our planned activities. It was pretty quiet and the staff we encountered were so great. The parking was ok. We have a handicap and parking in a handicap was very limited. Entering the building was a challenge. First of all other guests were smoking right outside the doors and between the smoke and the smell of the cigarettes it was not pleasant nor healthy trying to walk loaded down with luggage and bags to get into the building. Our room was very clean and nice. We had plenty of space and plenty of hot water. Basics for cooking, food prep, and dinnerware were very wee provided. Bath supplies incl hair dryer were great. We had a great experience except for the smokers and smoke.

This is a hotel that looks like an apartment complex. The room was very clean but pretty small. The room doors open into a hallway for added safety. It's quite distance from the parking area, through the hallway, up the elevator and down another hallway to get to your room. I took one star off due to the included breakfast. It's almost non existent and not even worth walking to the breakfast area. The other star was subtracted because of the location. The hotel is in the middle of an industrial area. There are NO food choices around. Because of the two negative issues mentioned, I would not stay here again.

You have to walk outside of the main lobby to get to your room, it was pouring out. But, if you order food, you have to pick up at front desk. Uber rides were expensive as it was not walkable to anything. Not worth saving the money, needs a remodel (like staying at an apartment complex with no renovations)

Excellent place to stay right off the interstate!!! Easy in and out of the property. Not far from Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, Kings Island/Soak City and The Great American Ballpark!!!! We had an excellent family getaway!! We will definitely stay here again!! Highly recommend this Hotel!!!!

It was….okay. Pulling up the cleaning ladies were outside giggling when I had trouble getting out of the car and walking in. There isn’t really a sign of where to go to check in. It definitely worked for what we needed it to. The breakfast was probably one of the worst that I have been to at a hotel. Thee hot items” are frozen breakfast sandwiches to heat up in the microwave. Overall the stay was good. Check in was slow, no one at the desk for about 30 minutes, then they could not find my reservation. There is a weird smell in the hallway on first floor. The hot tub was out of order. Also there is no hot breakfast as advertised, they gave us frozen jimmy dean sandwiches we could microwave. But overall room was nice, spacious, clean. The kids loved the pool and the basketball court.

This hotel is a bit shabby but clean, safe, and overall quiet. What really killed the 5-star rating was the Internet speed: "up to" 10mbps, shared between all stations on the network means that the hotel wi-fi was effectively useless. The gym was adequate but the equipment old and deteriorated: the one (of two) treadmills that worked had a missing "increase speed button" and was difficult to operate, and the battery reserve on the elliptical was dead, so the machine reset if you stopped moving for an instant or reversed stride direction. The rooms were clean, and amenities were as advertised. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was barely adequate, with one super old, crusty bottle of CoffeeMate serving as the sole source of creamer for the tepid coffee. Tea offerings were black Lipton only, and the choices were limited to one type of bagel (everything), one type of muffin (prepackaged vending-machine style blueberry muffins), Yoplait yogurts, cheap granola bars, and apples wrapped (weirdly) in plastic. There was also cereal, but the one source of milk was a small glass cooler that was left unrefrigerated on the counter for multiple days before being switched out, so we passed on that option. This looked like an old, out-of-repair hotel that was being slowly revived, but it could also have been corporate cost-cutting. This hotel is on its way to either a 2-star or a 5-star rating, depending on whether the owners are trying to revive it, or bleed it dry.

Ok place to stay for the weekend but if you're wanting hot breakfast. You won't be getting one. They have one small microwave for everyone to use and frozen breakfast sandwiches. Had a pancake machine but was out of batter. Only person working breakfast was the front desk person. Had to keep asking for more food because they put just a small amount out. Very poor quality.

I've stayed several times at this location. Recently I'd give it a "two". Clean location. Room spacious. Staff is friendly. Breakfast was terrible. They didn't even have anything other than coffee to drinik. Not even water. The store was out of everything. I would have to have gone grocery shopping to rank higher.

Our second stay at this location. Last year we were placed away from the main hotel, which I liked better. But convenience of a kitchenette made the drive into Mason for Cincy Open tolerable. Breakfast was poor quality. Coffee tasted like instant and not much to choose from in breakfast items. Bed was very comfortable.

This was disappointing stay. We have stayed in Sonesta ES several times and this one is no up to par. The staff work very hard but there was literally NO COFFEE on morning 1, morning 2 there was no food (not even the rotten oranges from the day before. I suggest that Expwrdia reconsider offering this site until they get their act together.

What we liked: The size and layout of the suite. The separate bedroom was so nice, and the kitchen was well stocked and useful. There was plenty of storage; dressers with huge drawers and a large closet. There was a pet area with a waste bags and bin, which was very thoughtful. The pool and pool area were nice. Staff were kind and helpful for the most part. What we didn't like: It was not very clean. The floors turned our feet black. The place was also a little dingy; the shower curtain was ripped in several places so it was barely hanging on. There were curtains but not blinds or sheers so it was either dark and private, or light and on display. There were mystery liquids on the sidewalk outside of the back door that you had to step over when coming & going. They decided to shock the pool to clean it in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday (weird timing!), when a bunch of us were swimming in it. They said it would be half an hour before it was safe to go back in. They didn't put up a sign warning guests but fortunately we decided to stay at the poolside because some children came and were about to swim in the pool. They were lucky we were there to let them know about the pool; otherwise they might have been hurt by the chemicals. There were unsupervised children everywhere, running down the halls, knocking on all the doors, swimming in the pool with no adult supervision. A guy was smoking weed next to the pool were children were swimming. Not a very nice place.
What we liked: The size and layout of the suite. The separate bedroom was so nice, and the kitchen was well stocked and useful. There was plenty of storage; dressers with huge drawers and a large closet. There was a pet area with a waste bags and bin, which was very thoughtful. The pool and pool area were nice. Staff were kind and helpful for the most part. What we didn't like: It was not very clean. The floors turned our feet black. The place was also a little dingy; the shower curtain was ripped in several places so it was barely hanging on. There were curtains but not blinds or sheers so it was either dark and private, or light and on display. There were mystery liquids on the sidewalk outside of the back door that you had to step over when coming & going. I lived in the Blue Ash one which was very nice! this is the first time i lived at this one - it turned out to be very nice as well (it may seem a little older than the Sonesta in Blue Ash). The rooms are decent and the location is good. However, do not expect much about the breakfast. Overall, i would recommend.

Hotel is run down and dirty. People smoke even though you aren't supposed to. Walls are super thin and you can hear everything in neighboring rooms. Would not stay here again.
