Quality Inn Upper Sandusky

The sink would not drain. We have a photo of crackers and crumbs under the end table. The outside back door would not lock. The bathroom door would not close. There were cobwebs in the corner of the room. There were a couple of other items. We have family in the area however we will go to Marion Ohio next time.

The breakfast fruit especially the oranges were old and mushy. The fitness center equipment (treadmill, elliptical) was inoperable.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, albeit some crude repairs around the bathtub, BUT: the staff were not at all friendly and the "breakfast" was an insult. So little fruit and yoghurt (the only hint of anything healthy) was put out that unless you were there before 7:30 there was nothing left. Although there was a heated food server, there was nothing offered in it except crumbly, tasteless biscuits that I almost choked on. The Indian extended family that owned/ran the place lived upstairs and were very noisy, with kids running around like a herd of elephants and a vacuum cleaner running at 10:30pm on the wooden floored carpet and hardwood. The Wifi sucked.

The outside doors around the building were unlocked at all times. Anyone could walk in and swim without going through main door.

Disappointed that the pool was closed. It was why i chose that hotel. But people were nice and it was clean

Staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was clean. The pool could use a little updating. All in all, I'd stay here again.

Hallways smelled like smoke. Right next to a truck stop and random people in and out of hotel. Pool hours are terrible.

This locations has side doors that have key card scanners for entry, but are open to anyone. This is a safety concern to anyone, especially when staffing is very limited and entries aren't able to be monitored. Facilities were clean, but definitely need some maintenance.

The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. The hall way to our room smelled very good. Only complaint I have is they wouldn't turn on the lights in the pool room even though it didn't close for 2 more hours and it was dark out.

Refrigerator was loud, intermittent buzzing from something all night. Dust with significant amount of hair behind the bathroom door, along with a big spider web. Broken piece of plastic behind the coffee maker on bathroom counter; water still left in the reservoir, obviously not moved and cleaned.

The bed was hard. The tub looked dirty but i think it was chipped but didnt look clean enough to use. I wont be staying there again i dont think.

I recently booked a room at this hotel and was extremely disappointed. The unpleasant odor upon entering should have been a warning sign, but we decided to check in anyway. The lobby was chaotic, with employees' children running around, going behind the counter, screaming, and banging against the walls. When we finally reached our room, it was dark, damp, and smelled like a locker room. The carpet was littered with candy and other debris, there was mold on the table, and we found pubic hair in the bed. It was clear that the fitted sheet hadn't been changed for a long time, as there was a large yellow stain. We decided to leave at 9:30 pm and drove 45 minutes to a much cleaner and more welcoming hotel that truly deserved our business. We didn’t bother to complain because it was evident they wouldn’t have cared, and other rooms would likely be just as disturbing. As frequent travelers, we have made a note to avoid this place at all costs.

The property was clean inside and out. The room was tidy and neat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would gladly stay there again.

I upgraded to a suite for space. The tub was moldy, there were huge spider webs on the bed and in the corner. When i asked for cleaning, the front desk told me the housekeepers were only in every 3 days. They were very unbothered by my complaint. The outside doors at the back of the building stay unlocked late into the night. After my cleaning day, the tub was still moldy and looked untouched. They didn't replace towels or soap. Go somewhere else. I don't even want to know the state of the bed I slept on. Especially for $200 a night in Upper Sandusky.

Rooms were unclean. Dust and hair visible. Room and hallways smelled strongly of urine and marijuana. Very disappointing.

The room was clean but smelled of mold and was very humid in the room even with the air conditioning running.

You get what you pay for. The trash hadn’t been emptied in our room, there was hair in the sink, and a stain on the bedspread. However, the rooms were a good size and had a good sized refrigerator. It was quiet and we slept well.

Our room was very nice. The bathroom was especially nice with shampoo, soap and lotion I containers hanging on the shower wall for easy access and use taking a shower. If the king bed would have been more firm (it was quite soft), the room would have been perfect. We’ll definitely stay again.

There were kids running through the halls until midnight at which they only stopped when I had to step out and ask them to. The carpet was dirty and we kept shoes on when walking around the room. The sofa bed for our kids was pulled open and crumbs fell out everywhere, and had stains on the underside of the sofa cushions. The bathroom fan was extremely noisy as if it was broken. The air conditioning unit was having trouble functioning at one point but was able to start up after about an hour. The saving graces - the king bed was phenomenal and we had a great night sleep (comfortable and clean). The bathroom was mostly remodeled and all furniture in the room seemed new/updated.

Were pleased that the room had a walk in shower .. the room floor was dirty.. needed vacuumed..we had a terrible time trying to call the hotel directly to make a reservation. Unable to find a direct number to the hotel. The air conditioner and the bathroom fans were very loud which made it difficult to sleep. The person at the desk was not very friendly when we arrived.

Older property that has had some upgrades. Overall clean and comfortable. Breakfast selection was sub par at best, few offerings, no eggs...cost control or no staff working the area? Noticed several DYI repairs at the property. Maintenance in a commercial building should always be done by qualified contractors.

Room and bed were comfortable. Check in was a bit difficult… due to language barrier. The building was confusing in order to find our room. We were given the wrong directions o which door to go in.

The curtains wouldn’t close all the way, just the shear did. I was afraid to put the light on at night. I felt people could see right in and I was traveling alone. Breakfast was disappointing, the eggs were premade folded like something from McDonalds and In the refrigerator for you to microwave. After the first night I told the maids they didn’t have to clean the room that first morning because I was going to stay in for awhile . The next morning they had made the bed but didn’t clean the bathroom counter or tub. Or vacuum ( not sure if they vacuum every day but I took everything out of bathroom and it was never cleaned. I checked out a day early. I’ve stayed at Quality Inns before but they were always good.

Very comfortable beds good hotel for the cost

Room was clean, spacious, and had everything I needed except for reliable Internet which kept going out. Hotel is also located in what seems to be a weak/ dead cell for ATT and Verizon cell phone providers. Internet needs to be a lot more reliable because we need it to do our job work which was the main reason I got a hotel, so I'd have a place to work other than my car. Also be aware that there is no road into the hotel, you have to enter through a Pilot truck plaza. Fast food and Walmart are within a 5 minute drive if you need anything.

The person up front was rude and not friendly at all. I gave her a friendly hello, how you doing, three times, And each time she stared at me and said how can I help you. She was purposely ignoring my friendliness.

The staff is friendly and they do amazing work. Jenny at the front desk is a gem. It's always a solid stay.

The receptionist was rude. We had to go to the desk every night to have our key cards reactivated. She blamed it on us! Even the extra cards left in the room would not work. Not very good customer service!

Didn’t like that you have to call a number on the clipboard to receive front desk service. Check in was fine but checking out the man told me that if he needed to get me a receipt then he would come up but if not then to leave the keys on the desk.

Friendly staff

They charged me 143 for cancelation on a three day stay that was a 111 pre day. I tried to cancel on Hotel site and it kept flipping me back login after acceptation verification code. Called the hotel direct to cancel after 3pm cutoff, and the women was nervous and said it would be 75 to 100 depending how the manager reacted in the morning. The next day Searched for Hotel Customer service person after two transfer I got nice person who called the hotel about my cancelation. The Quality Inn managerl LIED and said I canceled on following day and that Quality Inn policy was to charge a full average daily rate. I never write bad reviews. But this is a place to skip for sure. Plus Hotels.com should put the People hotline number on home web site. No time to search for numbers when driving.

This place was awesome. The beds and pillows we so comfortable. The staff was nice and accommodating. We would stay here again. Nice job!

Staff at check in was amazing. They let us know about all amenities that were available. They were very friendly and kind!!! Top notch!

We reserved through Hotels.com a non smoking room. When we got to the hotel, they said it was reserved as a smoking room. They did not have any non smoking rooms available in the selection ( 2queens) that I had already paid for. The hotel said they'd have an executive suite but I'd have to pay the difference because it was more expensive. Hotels.com did not have a customer service number so having to go through the chat option to get it worked out was inconvenient. It took an hour to get things worked out. So I'd recommend calling and confirming in advance. As for the hotel- it was older but clean. Small breakfast options but there's restaurants nearby

Only a one night stay. Came for the local Christmas light display. Ate dinner at a place called The Steer Barn, Breakfast at The Corner. Excellent Stay. Price was fair. Would recommend.

Oh my gosh, the bed, sheets and pillows were so comfortable! The room was clean, the breakfast was good and the staff were very nice and friendly. Restaurants and Walmart are just down the road. I wish we could take the bed ensemble home with us we loved it so much. We would definitely stay here again.

Don’t waste your money at this location it is nothing like the website advertises and we reserved a king suite and all they had was double queens cause the other rooms were blocked off because of bed bugs the guy at check said he had to give us another room because of the bugs which was fine but they charged us still for the same room no difference in price they said but on their site it says different this place is out dated if you have a chance to go someplace else please go this place is very delapitated and oh they have no buffet style breakfast bread you can toast and has cereal dispensers so they are not at all what they advertise if we hadn’t been so wore out we would have left when we checked it . Forgot to take pictures where I was is tired but heed my warning don’t stay at this place

This property is nice for an overnight stay. I didn't like that you couldn't shut the curtains for privacy. The breakfast was ok. Front desk staff were nice and pleasant.

Convenient parking close to room entrance. Hallways and pool area were cold. Breakfast consisted of waffles, muffins, bread, cold cereal and coffee. No juice or water or hot foods like advertised. Absolutely no vacuuming under the pull out couch, a pill, food, crayons etc... hair and food crumbs in between the king bed sheet and mattress cover. When checking in, the receptionist did not make eye contact one time, seemed like I was bothering her.

If I had to stay in the area again, there are not alot of options and would consider staying again. I know they can be better. Sign when coming in that they will give you $10 for giving a 5 star rating. Need a maintenance person that can caulk. The fix caulking in the shower corners and base is thick and unattractive along with growing stuff due to not being smooth. The only place in the shower to put soap is up high. Glad my mom did not get this room. The furniture and bed were mostly good. The couch looked like a cat got their claws on the front corner and the coffee table is warn. Good premium channels, but could not watch local channels due to digitization. The facility is large and strangely built. Each section of the complex is through single closed doors. We stayed on the side where you go through the breakfast room. It took a little maneuvering to get the luggage cart to our room corridor. Patch paint is very obvious as it does not match the paint of the walls. In our room, the color matched, but not the sheen. In the back corridor, the patch paint was darker leaving you the feeling of being in a construction zone. The checkin clerk was not what you would expect from someone greeting you to their property. She was matter of fact to slightly surly. Experienced this both in checkin and asking where to find the ice maker. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special. Due to being off season, bagels were stale. Main choices, cereal, waffles or bagels.
