Plainview Motel

Good location, short path across the road to the water. Take your rubber boots if you plan on clamming. You can check out the tools needed for digging clams at the office. Great location to visit several other state park beaches just up the road from the motel.

It was so great. The murals on the buildings are wonderful and the jet bathtub is so big! :) friendly people and so close to shore acres. Will definitely use again.

The property is old and the Motel rooms are small especially the bathroom ..the toilet is so close to the wall that you have to sit sideways if you have long legs ..there is no fan in the bathroom and the shower water comes out like a hose and was not adjustable. It was very clean in the room, it was a little musty due to it being at the beach but was easy to air out and after being in there for a while you did not notice it. The RV’s that are parked alongside of the Motel are rather old and run down some. The receptionist was ok at check in but when she had to come fix the tv she was rather short with my granddaughter who tried to help her. It is about a 10 min drive from downtown Coos Bay. The lock on room 8 was not so easy to operate ..it would seem that it was locked but when pushing on it the door would open. All in all it was a pretty good stay ..there is a small kitchenette in the room with fridge and microwave.

Check in was easy. Old run down trailer parking the middle that are not in any of their pictures. Duplex had a extreme musky smell. Some windows didn't have screens. There was no BBQ when the description and amenities mentioned it had a BBQ. I was informed that it was a shared BBQ with the other side of the duplex. She said the neighbors were using it and I could get it when they're done. The neighbors weren't there and I could see the BBQ (not in use). I called the office, again was told the neighbor was using it. I told her the neighbors weren't there and I could see the BBQ(not in use). She kept saying they're using it. Again, I said it wasn't being used. She said she'd call them and see when they were going to be back. I said yes please because if they're going to be a while, I'll cook while they're gone and have it back for them. She hung up and never bothered to get back to me either way. We had to go buy a BBQ since we already had food to BBQ. Not very professional! Aside from that. The place is private with room for the whole family and a private yard for the dogs. The path across the street to the beach was littered with trash the whole way. We travel to the coast often and probably would go back had they been more professional and accomadating,but after this experience that won't be happening.

We stayed in rental A. Very clean and nice. We will stay here again . It was great to be able to borrow crab pots and shovels and buckets to use while crabbing and clamming.

Convenient to everything we we able to ride our bikes to town. Everyone was very nice. And being able to use the grill was also nice.

The rv park which is connected to the hotel is more like a trailer park for permanent residents and looked pretty rundown which I think is where some of the bad reviews come from. Motel itself is very nice and updated and clean inside. Lady in office was very helpful and friendly. Fun trail to the beach across the street. Kids loved finding small crabs & jellyfish. We had very 4 flat pillows in our room for 4 people and they said no extra when I asked the front desk. Everything else was great.

If you’re looking for a bougie stay, this isn’t it, but if you need an affordable, cute, safe, and clean stay, this is a great spot. Every building is covered with paintings of a local artist. It’s quiet and had a kitchenette. The staff at check in was super kind as well!

Very clean room, quiet and felt safe. No AC but lucky your on the Bay so sleeping with window open it was fine. RV property not the best, however felt separate from the RV area. No long curtin in the kitchen area, just short panels. But hung a towel and it did the job for privacy. Biggest thing was quiet and felt safe while we stayed.

The floorboards were so filthy there was dirt piled in the corner of them. It had a bad smell to it. Would not stay here again for the condition and price.

A very old musty smelling place. The trailers in the rv park were terrible and run down.

Pretty cool place across from a trail to the beach. 3 adults were comfortable. Cooked a tri-tip in the kitchenette range. Laminate floors were perfect because a lot of sandy shoes. Shower was clean and hot. Affordable too.

We love this place, we're repeat visitors, it's clean and our rental was spacious and secluded and just relaxing in every way!

The outside of the property had us a little worried but when we saw the inside of our room it was excellent!! New and clean and layed out well! We would definitely stay here again!

I will say the outside of the building is beautiful, with that being said, the inside is a different story. The maid cleaned it to the best of her ability. However the owners should be ashamed of them selves. What they charge people they could afford to fix all the things that were broken or falling apart. The floor linoleum is cracked and a trip hazard, the bathroom is a hot mess, my husband had to take the roll of toilet paper off the wall to squeeze his way in to sit down (and he’s not that big of a guy) also the first day the shower nozzle (which was chest height) sprayed water all over the place from the fitting and the second day when my husband took a shower the whole head came off in his hand. The shower stall it’s self had many holes, cracks, missing pieces and when you stepped into it, it felt like you were going to fall thru it, the water backed up into the stall if you were in it longer than 3 minutes. The wall plug ins are right above your headboard so your cords sit in your lap, you can also feel every spring in the mattress as well. When I went to the front counter and spoke to the lady there about the shower head coming off she said that the manager was gone and she didn’t have another room, so she couldn’t do anything. Also if you decide to stay there you should be pot friendly as that was all we could smell while we were at the room. The neighbor sneezed and I said bless you and she said thank you… thru the wall.

Loved the kitchenette in the room and very comfortable beds. Loved the style of the room.

Honestly great stay at this place ! Where else can you get a place with a little kitchen less then $100. The place was very clean. Beds were a little hard and there wasn’t any shampoo in the shower.

They still use real keys for your door! Straight out of the 1990's. Slide door lock inside with deadbolt. It's old, and they have done the best they could to update with paint and decent appliances. Great murals on outside. Bed mattress was old and saggy. Blankets old and thin. Room was clean, though the toilet smells. Tiny shower only. Let's leave it at you get what you paid for. I needed a simple, cheap place to stay the night. That's exactly what I got.

Perfect for 2 nights at the coast. Loved having a kitchen for breakfast. Sorry we set off the smoke alarm cooking bacon. Comfortable and convenient to all the activities we came for.

It was nicely remodeled. Very quiet. The lady that checked me in was AWESOME!!

The staff was wonderful and the room was exactly the relaxing accomodations we needed after a day exploring the coast. Will definitely be coming back

Desk person was extremely rude and unhelpful. Room is very shabby and there is no curtain over the window in the kitchenette, which allows light to come in early in the morning and also limits privacy. The one trash can in the room is located by the entrance door so one has to go over there to deposit both kitchen and bathroom waste.

Friendly helpful front office staff. Pleasantly surprised by the unit! Clean, well appointed, full kitchen.

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable for a tourist from out of state

Staff is very rude, checking-in seems to be an inconvenience for them. They only accept exact amount for payment, An accommodation that is unaccommodating! They actually asked us to just cancel our reservation, so we Did!

I arrived 1 hr before check in time, could not enter the room b/c it had not been cleaned yet. Totally understandable, when I asked if I (after a long car drive) could make use of a bathroom, it was denied. "We have no public bathroom" was the answer. Less than a few yards away there were bathrooms with a lock code on the door, used by the RV park people. They could have easily accommodated me. I did not appreciate that. Office messy and shabby, not a good first impression. Received a sheet of paper with all the rules and a warning that infractions would cost $250. Warning in the room as well that seafood/crabs were not to be cooked in the room, infraction wld be $250. In all fairness, the motel is old, amenities (bed, bathroom, stove etc.)were old and not attractive, but clean and functioning. Beds were very comfortable. I just don\'t think the staff was up to par and I will most definitely choose another place to stay next time. Also, I paid d$150 for a night, rather expensive considering it\'s an old motel and not close to Coos Bay center where the shops and restaurants are. "Plainview Motel" is somewhat of a misnomer as well, there is no view, just a road in front of the motel. I expected noise from that road at night, but that was not the case, no noise.

Our experience for the 3 days in Unit #8. First, it’s an older motel, good location, the room had an odor to it, the heater worked but it gave off a chemical smell, during the day it’s loud due to remodeling other units, we had to take out your own trash, if you need towels etc you’ll need to go to the office (beige towels, old linens) we always travel with our own towels, pillows sheets & blankets (our choice) kitchenette had what you’ll need (we used our own, again our choice) over priced for what you get. We checked into a different location and happy that we did.

Clean but noisy being close to highway with no A/C and needing cool air
