The facility is older and in good condition. For those who need elevators, pass on this motel.They only have stairs. The spa tub was out of commission. And, the staff attitudes were smile-less.

Jet tub in the room was nice since the hot tub was under repair.

1st room, the A/C was not working properly. The refrigerator was frozen & inop.. Room was on the 2nd floor, NO elevator Ice machine was broken/inop. I have heart disease and bad knees, so 2nd floor w/o elevator was a real hardship! Desk clerk gave me another room on the first floor. AFTER I HAD ALREADY PACKED MY GEAR UP THE STAIRS. No onsite dining. No wake up call, perhaps phone inop. What did you not like - DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY!

Really the only thing this property has going for it is location. Across from the Mcmennamins Grand Lodge. Fast food and coffee close by also. That being said, although the updated lobby looks nice as well as the view of the pool (which is closed and has been for well over a year). The rooms lack in almost every way. The plumbing leaks so wet carpet, matress is comfortable but larger than the base so not ideal. No clocks.The overly worn velour-like chair had rips and slices all over it and the icing on the cake was the lock for the window was broken off. We have stayed over night here before and basically knew what to expect although there was "remodeling" going on the last time and was hopeful for improved rooms. We will stay again if our first choice is booked, but this description will hopefully prep others for the reality of this property.

All of the advertsed facilities were down and had been for quite some time (pool, hot tub, laundry room) and the rooms were mostly clean but were missing some things like light covers, drain covers, etc.

I was having surgery and used this hotel to come back too. There was paint literally peeling off.the ceiling in the bathroom. I needed ice for swelling and.the ice machine had been broke for weeks they said. Don't waste your money here

Very disappointed! We were both expecting and told there was not only a pool but also a work out room and both were completely shut down. We even asked when we arrived and they said yes, the pool is fine and open until 11pm when in fact it had been closed due to orbies in the filters from children days before and paint particles in the pool from there “remodel”. Again, extremely disappointed especially paying 153$ for one night and nothing to do for my kids. If we would have known before booking we would have went somewhere else!

There were ants all over the beds, night stand, counters. The room had black mold in multiple areas, the sheets and bedding were not washed (found sticky and crumbs in bed, that the ants were eating) the remote was so sticky u couldnt press a button, the toilet seat was cracked-when you sat on it, it pinched your butt. We had no wash cloths and only 2 towels (when there were 4 of us) the noise was so bad we did not sleep at all. All around a horrible experience, i do not recommend.

The sheets and bedding were dirty. The tv was broken. I was told by the agent on the phone that it had wood floors, but instead it had carpet with stains. The room smelled like weed when I arrived. The towels were small and inadequate.

Cleanliness was below average -- particularly carpet,. phone, and windows. Carpet is particular really needs attention. Didn't want to walk barefoot or do my exercises on the floor. And when I picked up the phone to call the front desk I actually cleaned it myself as it was so gross. Also opening the window for fresh air realized they hadn't been cleaned in quite a while.

Bedding and towels were clean but the carpets were dirty and the curtains were broken.

We checked in and then out 15 minutes later as the smell in the room was so strong my daughter had an asthma attack We were not offered a refund or an apology Bathroom fan had no cover and cobwebs everywhere Bathroom light fixture was also exposed with wires hanging out Very disappointed in treatment

The carpets need cleaning! The nonsmoking rooms were totally smoky from smoking. Bathroom walls need cleaning.

This was awful, the sink Was missing the stopper, no towels , dirty room, TV never worked Smells like dog, and the bathroom was nasty. This place is not well kept, need my money back,

The good: My bed was comfortable and clean and it was fairly quiet. The hotel is in a convenient location, near family and shopping. The not as good: The parking lot had some trash. There wasn't a lot of communication by the staff except a friendly hello and goodbye when I checked in and out. They never said anything about room cleaning for example if I had to request to get it cleaned. It was never cleaned and I was there for three nights. My room had a slight smell of cigarette smoke. There were always kids in the lobby, they were well-behaved but the lobby appears to be their hangout area.

The a/c unit in the room only went down to 60 degrees and even then the air didn’t blow around the room. Had to go to the store and get a box fan just to cool down the room enough to sleep

comfortable, quiet on a Saturday night. Perfect for seeing a show at the Grand Lodge.

I liked the spa bathtub in the room, and it was very spacious. Not too homey feeling, but maybe that's a personal preference.

The door in the bathroom was smashed in, the dead bolt on the door was busted and holes just left exposed, the hair drier filter was full and gross and blew out something when turned on, the devider between the need and desk was all chewed up and got my daughters arm when are touched it, the bed were really uncomfortable, and the purple next to us and above us were slamming their doors and sounded like they were jumping up and down and running most of the night.

The room was clean but the toilet was quite small and close to the ground. Also a lot of light and sound comes thru under the room's front door. Also the electrical receptacles are old and my chargers tend to fall out some times. One more thing, the bolts in the chair back need to be tightened.

One of the beds had a loose leg that caused it to wobble. I had to tighten some wingnuts underneath the bed by hand. This worked somewhat,but the metal bracket holding the leg was clearly deformed. By the headboard of the bed, the wall had a gouge in it and something dried (maybe adhesive?) on the wall. The chair at the desk in the room looked very dingy. The beds themselves, the towels and the counter area where the sink and coffeemaker are, were all nice and clean. The hair dryer didn't work and was partially melted. The GFCI it was plugged into had buttons that were cracked and of dubious functionality. The plug for the bath/shower was just lying in the bathtub. The pool was nice and warm but the hot tub was under repair. There were lifejackets and toys in big storage bins scattered around. The back door to the building was supposed to be closed all the time, but people kept propping it open, making it feel less safe.

It seemed furnishings were just worn out and needed to be replaced.

The person who checked us in at arrival was very nice. Our cable didn’t work in our room so no TV. They gave us the wrong room when we checked in. Only had one bed but the reservation was for two queen beds. Once we got into a room there were only two towels and one wash cloth. We had 3 people on our room. We asked 3 times for more towels and every time we were told they were still drying and they would bring sponge to the room. We never got an extra towel.

The weekend manager was very rude. You know I asked her for a downstairs room when we got there she said she only had one and she could move us to it, which was nice. Then we went to the room. Our chair was broken. I asked her for another when she started getting really rude in saying she hasn’t go in the room so it’s not her fault if it’s broken and they don’t have another chair to give me I said why I don’t want my husband to fall out of it because if he does, you guys are paying for it, she finally came to the room with her phone and recording our conversation and brought us a metal folding chair. I told her I didn’t want that because there’s no way for him to get out of the chair the room the curtains had holes in it. The comforter had holes in it. We had ants in our room This morning. I walked by and Glatter and she accused me of picking on it when I gave her the key. She said I threw a matter. Tell me I was a whack job. She is the most unprofessional lady I’ve ever seen and you guys need to take her off your list. She sucks and so do them and don’t think I’m not gonna call and talk to her manager tomorrow. I will never book the Hotels.com. Is this the kind of places you put on there when I checked out and asked her for a copy of my receipt she said get it from you guys. She didn’t have to give me one so I don’t even know what she charged on my credit card. That’s not right.

Check in was easy and staff excellent and helpful.

The staff was very professional and friendly. Checking in was fast and easy. The staff memver went out of her way to see if a room was available earlier than my check in time .

Didn’t have my 2 reserved rooms, only 1, and said they were booked. I tried to show my confirmed reservation and she said “You booked through a third party, and we can’t do anything with a confirmation #. We only go by your name.” The girl told me the only way to book with them directly is to call their number as they do not have a website, and booking through third parties leaves them no room to fix mistakes. Needless to say I won’t choose this location again.

We did not even get to check in because the lady behind the counter had no idea what she was doing then she disappeared for over 10 minutes. The people checking in when we got there came back down the hall and said their room key wasn’t working and there was a line of people in the waiting room trying to check in with no staff in sight. We ended up leaving

The employees were nowhere to be found when i arrived. After waiting 20 minutes for someone we called the number to no answer. Walked around the entire hotel calling out for someone. When he did eventually show up he was extremely rude. Using F**K every other word. Then tried to deny me based on havung my service dog. Told me he didnt care if it was against ADA regulations multiple times.Mind you this was a non refundable pre-paid While he did relient and allow us to stay. He was not very nice about it at all

Enjoyed location and bed was great

I chose to stay at America's Best for a concert i attended at McMenamins Grand Lodge. Their hotel was full, so I looked for close by hotels and found this one. Upon arriving I discovered my room was upstairs. I had a lot to carry. The hotel manager was quick to offer help to carry things. The room was spacious and clean. I was happy with my stay and it was walking distance to the venue.

Friendly staff, but this is a no-frills, budget hotel … with just average amenities. Others might rate it lower, but I knew what I was going to get … - thin towels - lumpy mattress - no iron or ironing board in the room (front desk does provide them when asked) - no closet, there’s a rack to hang your clothes by the door - etc. I booked this property because of its low price and its proximity to Pacific University. I was there only to help my son get settled in his dorm. It served that purpose.

Loved being within walking distance to The Grand Lodge and all its restaurants and beauty.

I liked their nice little swimming pool. I didn't enjoy their coffee. The coffee itself was okay but not hot enough. The creamer was that terrible powder kind. Other than that I enjoyed my stay and will go their again but bring my own creamer. I only saw two staff people and they were very helpful.

Website list the following amenities that were not provided during my 3 night stay; Free Wifi, 24/7 Front Desk, & Daily housekeeping. Wifi was not an option, there's no telephone in the room either. The front lobby is locked and closed during a certain time every night. Our room was not cleaned at anytime during our 3 night stay. When we arrived, the room smelled as if someone just poured clorox all over the place, in the bathroom were 2 towels (1 bath & 1 hand) for a party of 2. The coffee maker & hair dryer were located on the sink counter, cords tangled and both appliances pushed into the corner of the towel holder (very unsafe). The tv was stuck on one channel the entire time. The remote control held together by duct tape. The beds are pilliow tops; it is over due for replacement as the bed sinks toward the middle leaving us to sleep sideways in uncomfortable positions. There hotel has complimentary PB&J sandwhiches in the lobby. However, it is on a table top, left open all day, and each time I walked past it, I saw more peanut butter or jelly on the table. No one cleaned it regularly. The parking lot needs more light. There was a man pleasuring himself in the parking lot while I was there, it was scary and no security or people monitoring the free onsite parking they advertise. Unfortunately no other hotel in that town was avaliable leaving me with no other choice but to stay at this hotel.

No breakfast, even though Expedia says it does include breakfast, jacuzzi out of service, room by the ice machine was noisy, didn't have all the usual towels

This is an excellent value for the price. This appears to be a 60's or early 70's inn that has been updated and well maintained. The rooms are large and the beds comfortable. Lots of parking. Only had two issues: First, the toilet seat was loose. I asked to have it fixed, was told the maintenance man would get right on it. The next day, was told that he was out for a few days. Second, the hot tub was inoperational. I was told that it had been that way for months. There was no coffee for the coffee maker. I was told that they had been 'out' for quite a while and didn't know why the owner had not gotten more.

The website clearly states that breakfast is included. It is NOT. There were used band-aids around the pool and deck. The hot tub was out of order. Our room had unmade beds and used fast food all around when we arrived.

I had thought they had a breakfast, but that room is now used to store furniture.

Rundown and badly needing updates no breakfast options cable wasn’t great but was with in walking distance of the venue I was visiting so worked good for that.
