Ramada by Wyndham Ligonier

Arrived earlier than planned, but we were told there would be an up charge of $30. Passed on the opportunity to spend more. Checked in at the correct hour. Room was clean mostly, just old and dated. Bathroom was so small that we had to turn to face the tub to close the door. Air conditioning worked very well. Easy to get the temp we liked. We booked this hotel because it had a pool. However, there was broken plastic tables (3 of them) strewn about the pool area. The maintenance building was unlocked. The handrails leading down into the water was loose and very shaky. We didn’t swim at all and saw nobody else swim either. The public door the the back parking lot has an air conditioner right above it that drips constantly. There was always a puddle right there as we went in or out the two nights that we stayed. Oh, and I do not know why, but every morning a maid sat on a chair by the elevator watching people come and go and even looking out the door to watch us get in cars etc……This is a hotel in decline.

I like the fact there was places to eat in a 3-5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was not like the other Ramada Hotels I stayed at so we ate out. The pool had big pieces of paint and cement missing on the sides and look like it had not been vacuum because there were pine needles in the bottom and dead bugs on top of the water.

Wish the pool was open.

We stayed here 10 years ago. We love the convenience of it being right in the heart of Ligonier. The front desk staff were excellent. We enjoyed our two adjoining king size suites and their location. It was quiet which we enjoyed. The beds and pillows were excellent and very comfortable! The air conditioning worked great inside the rooms. With that said, there were a few things that were not so great. The website advertises their restaurant and bar, however we learned it has been closed since COVID. No one will care that you don’t have a restaurant in the hotel as there are plenty around. However, they WILL care that you advertise it as open and have a full menu for people to view. Just change the website! Deceiving folks makes it hard on the traveler who are making plans as well as the poor front desk staff that have to deal with complaints about the closed restaurant. Further, the pool had three different closing times posted. Again, no one will care when you close the pool just update your signs to reflect the current times so as to not confuse folks. The rooms appeared very clean however when we went to open the sofa beds, there were food and crumbs under the couch and in the couch cushions. Please take time to pull out the couch and clean under them as well as in the couch cushions. Also please take time to clean your pool. I had to scoop out bugs and bandaids my first time there and one hotel guest stated the pool looked like his car bumper. Covered with bugs.

Place could use some remodeling (for example awnings look terrible and entire place could be updated) but sufficient and clean enough for short stay in Ligonier. Great location next to downtown diamond shops and restaurants. Outside pool was clean and nice. Good stay overall and best option locally for what we needed.

On the other hand, the staff that we met were very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean--and the mattresses good! I would suggest more frequent shampooing of rugs in hall ways and rooms, and a more consistant presence at the front desk. I called there many times and got no response. Thanks--we did fine.

Though the hotel faculty was old, it was clean and the cleaning service were very good. Breakfast provided was average but the room you eat breakfast was too small to accommodate all the guest so, i took my breakfast Baku to my room with my grandchildren. The beds were very very comfortable. Outside pool was not clean so I couldn't use it which disappointed my grandchildren. Do not stay there if you plan to use the pool but you will get a very good night sleep on the bed. I would stay there again if I didn't want to use the pool.

The price of the rooms are too much. The pool area needs a complete revamp seriously needs a good power washing new tiles in the pool. They could do some amazing stuff at that pool. There was smell of mold throughout the hallways, though my room was clean, nice and tidy, and the staff was very friendly.

Bathroom had a hole in the wall and mold on the ceiling. The carpet was wet outside of the bathroom. Needs updated badly!

First impressions, a dirty , stinky place in need of a major overhaul. Sheets were stained, we didn’t notice the first night, but in the light they were terrible. I complained at front desk, after 6 hours went down and complained again. Then they finally redid the bed. Several items in the room were rusty or dirty. The room also had a strong mildew smell to it, as did the rest of the hotel. The breakfast was good, but they ran out of waffle batter and all bread products the one day. It does have a very convenient location for downtown ligoneer.

Super easy check-in, staff were great , fantastic location to explore the town. But…there were quite a few crawling bugs in the room, so that was disappointing , but the front desk were very nice when I informed them.

The hotel is conveniently located downtown. The staff were very nice and accommodating. I had issue with the musty smell of the lobby and my room. There were stains on the side of the mattress and also on two of the walls going into the bathroom. When I got into bed it smelled like the comforter needed cleaned as when I folded it down the sheets smelled clean.

Terrible condition not kept up. Mold in the bathroom.

Our room was fine, but hallways were very hot and musty.

Run down and dirty

The bathrooms are very dated, poorly put together, ripped shower curtains, mold on ceiling & around bath tub. Tub seemed to have blocked pipe. Foreign hair in bathroom. Overall air was stuffy and bad (bedroom/hall/breakfast room), bedroom windows could not be opened (My youngest child woke up with breathing difficulties). Despite advertised as a “non-smoking” hotel, there was a constant breeze or cigarette smoke coming up to the 1st floor. (I doubted the cleanliness of the sheets/pillow case.) Beds were comfortable. Hotel is close to the heart of Ligonier. Staff was friendly & helpful.

The light switches were in an obscure location and when I was unable to locate the switch, the night clerk was rude and even hung up on me. Not a very nice experience. (Also, pillows were very hard and uncomfortable and the room was quite warm.)

The hotel was clean and perfect location. It has not been updated in over 20 years which is disappointing for as beautiful a town around the hotel. Staff was very kind.

Water in tub and bathroom sink was brown

A very nice hotel. Good service. Good facilities. Good breakfast. Great room. One exception. I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels over the years. I’ve never had one where the television did not work. It did not work at all. It made for a very long evening.

It had everything we needed for one night and plenty of space in the room

The listing showed a split room, there was no door, so it wasnt much of a split.

In one year the conition of the property has taken a beating. I am worried because I love this place.

I booked 2 rooms with 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa bed, because I had 5 people for each room. But what I got was 2 rooms with 2 queen beds and no sofa bed pull out. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.

Toilet in room had an intermittent water filling every minute or 2. Asked at front desk to fix it, as there was no reason for this to happen from my look at toilet. Hotel owner told me to hold the handle slightly depressed and it would stop! Hold the handle all night long? So that toilet ran like that for three days. Never fixed, and front desk agent just smiled when I complained at checkout. OLD HOTEL WITH FAULTY PLUMBING

Just stopped for one night on our way home from a 2 week roadtrip. Was very comfortable and kind, hospitable staff:)

There was no one at the check-in desk when we arrived with sleeping kids and we had to wait for someone to return. The hotel is old and needs to be updated. The pool is crumbling and there weren’t enough towels for the family. It’s a mediocre hotel with a great location. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was typical for a free hotel breakfast.

The front desk tried to charge our credit card 3 hours BEFORE check in. They also repeatedly called us to give them a new card when the attempt failed (we had put a hold on the card for this exact reason!) Our air conditioner did not cool the room despite being on the lowest temperature setting and running constantly. The elevator, hallways and breakfast area were not air conditioned and were stuffy and hot. Breakfast was good everyone found something they liked. The housekeeping staff was really nice. The pool was dirty and there were no towels available. The hotel was definitely not as nice as when we stayed there last year.

We went to our room and then left to see the area. When we returned to our room, our tv would not work properly. The gentleman, Mark, working at the front desk; came to our room and did everything to make the tv work. When it wouldn't, he moved us to an upgraded room at no extra charge. He made sure everything was perfect in the new room. He was so gracious and helpful. Breakfasts were very good, too. Great location to walk in Ligonier. We will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Ligonier.

This property is right in the heart of Ligonier so you can easily walk into town. Our rooms were very clean and beds comfortable. However the interior and exterior is shabby and needs alot of improvement. We had to force Our door ooeneach time we entered and exited because it was swollen shut fro the moisture. Halws rugs were dirty. Entry foyer between the doors had a horrible smell. Breakfast was sad. Staff was friendly and tried hard to be helpful and understanding.

My biggest complaint was that I had reserved an accessible room since I am recovering from a severe broken ankle. I have the reservation that indicates an accessible room but when we arrived they did not have that in their system nor did they have a room for us. It was a challenge for the four days we were there for me to get around the crowded room and tiny bathroom, and especially to shower. In addition to the non-accessible shower set up, the handle in shower was not screwed to the wall. Couple that with the water cooler in the fitness room that had no water (and was unplugged), the extension cord dangling down the wall at the pool, within reach of wet children, and the really terrible coffee (the rest of the breakfast was completely worth skipping as well) I don’t see a reason to book here again except that it’s really the only place in Ligonier. Everything has a run down and somewhat dirty feel to it.

Great stay overall. Convenient location and friendly staff. Parking lot needed to be tended to better as it was very icy but would definitely stay again.

The Ramada is very conveniently located wherein it is away from the Main Street so your stay is peacefully quiet, but still within walking distance of the town’s features.

Easy to walk everywhere

Excellent choice if you are visiting Idlewild. The property is in a very good location within 5 minutes of the park. It seems like an older property, but it is pretty clean. Located within walking distance to several shops and dining options, including Julio’s. If you are looking for a peaceful, kid-free, upscale, luxurious hotel, this probably isn’t the right option, but it served our purpose, and I’d stay there again.

Property was clean and staff was helpful and personable. Hotel is in a great location to the diamond in Ligonier - we were able to leave our car in the hotel parking lot through most of our stay and simply walk to the shops and restaurants nearby. Only issue was that the interior handle of the hotel's back door was hanging on by a single screw - one hard pull and someone would be able to enter the hotel without a key card, which is a security concern. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay for a good price.

Close to idelwild park. Hotel has a nice outdoor park.

Was not to happy with the breakfast both mornings that we stayed at the hotel. Nothing was fresh or refilled. We came down and there was still a good half hour left until breakfast was over. There was no milk for cereal, no toast or bagels, eggs was gone and sausage there wasn’t hardly any left. And apple juice and orange juice was not refilled!

Nice breakfast

Very good check in. Room was clean. Bed and bedding comfortable. Housekeeping was very timely and friendly. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast but kept running out of items and taking very long to refill. Orange juice and apple juice never got refilled the entire time we were eating. Outdoor pool is very nice and there are towels there for use.

Property is very dated . Owners do not understand what the meaning of Hospitality is they take no pride in the business. The breakfasts were AWFUL. Sunday morning there a few unappealing eggs, on Monday the breakfast offering was bean burritos. This place certainly does not compare to other Ramadas I have stayed in.Ramada corporation needs to review this property.

Location was good. Hotel was tired and worn. Internet in and out. Shower temperature knob disconnected from valve. No stopper in hand basin. AC & room layout directed cold air directly onto bed. Breakfast very inconsistent - 2 days only one hot choice, 3rd day 3 choices but out of eggs by 8.30 although b/f until 9.30.

Hotel was convenient for our family visit to Idlewild, and we enjoyed a stop by Fort Ligonier as well. There was a car show the evening we were in town, and it seemed like lots of shops and restaurants were are very walkable. (It wouldn’t be realistic to walk to Idlewild.) Staff was friendly, but breakfast area was a bit small for the number of guests. Breakfast was hot and fresh, though.
