Comfort Inn & Suites Wyomissing-Reading

Blech! I would not stay here again. Upon check in we were told there is no ice, the machine has been broken for months.

The stay was not very good. The breakfast was only boxed eggs and a waffle maker. And the coffee looked like dirty water. Only powdered creamer available. Thumbs down on breakfast. The worse part is that everything is out of order. The vending, ice, water machines, computer none of it worked. The front desk guy was not very nice or pleasant at all. I asked if they sold bottled water “NO” was his response. The hotel needs a little renovation but the room was clean and comfortable. I will more than likely not stay here again. 2 thumbs down.

Not-So-Good: Upon entering the building, we were immediately told that there was "no vending" and "no ice". If we wanted a water or a soda, we could buy those at the front desk. The shower door would not stay closed, either. Better: The bed was very comfortable, and the room was very clean.

This hotel seems to be in the process of renovating/remodeling, so some areas were dirty. The noise was light compared to other hotels and I had a decent room. Shower water temperature was warm not hot. Elevator was broken when I arrived. Area is ideal as it is between the West Reading area and Wyomissing area so plenty of restaurants close by and shopping.

Ice machine was down & ran out of breakfast items within the 1st hour!

No ice, no vending machine working. There were flyers from one food place that I was directed to pick up off a nearby table for dinner suggestions. For the continental breakfast were eggs, bread/toast, juice and cereal. The juice machine was broken! Only the OJ worked. There was one waffle maker that was barely working. NOTHING made me want to return to this place.

Booked 2 rooms months in advance and called and asked to have both rooms near each other. When we arrived we were greeted by a nasty woman at the desk who said one room was on the 3rd floor and one on the 4th - we asked if she could at least move us to same floor she said no we are all booked up ( parking lot was empty) when we got to the room she assigned on the 4th floor - it looked as if still occupied I called the desk and she assigned us to another room on the 3rd floor - why couldn’t she have done that from the start - just being difficult — Hotel has no ice machine (whoever heard of that ) and all the vending machines were out of order and nothing close enough to walk to - must drive to get ice and supplies - Spoke to 3 staff members in my 1 night stay and all were nasty. Very disappointed - free breakfast was mediocre at best - go out to eat

Read the fine print. Buried deep in small print on the Expedia Site mention is made of the security deposit to be collected at check in. I never experienced this before, although the staff says everyone does it. Ice machine broken. No towels in the room. Maid service didn't happen. This facility just doesn't live up to the standards I've come to expect from Comfort Inn

Breakfast options could be better and no functional ice maker in the building. Room clean, comfortable and updated.

The lobby area was dirty. There was no vending machine working. Not bottled water at front desk. Breakfast was super inadequate.

Its been over 12 hours and the sink has yet to drain, bed sheets were stained upon arrival, room has the masked odor of cigarette smoke, one chair is stained one chair feels like it’s going to break in half when you sit on it, one nightstand was completely broken off of the bedframe and missing, smoke alarm started chirping in the middle of the night, bath towels were stained to the point of where they should have just been thrown away.

This hotel was filthy. When we arrived to our room it was obvious the carpets had not been vacuumed and the bathroom floor had not been mopped. There were random hairs all around the shower surround as well. The person we saw upstairs cleaning the room across the hall was just in the room with the door open but wasn’t cleaning. That was at least the fourth time we saw her in a 24 hour period and each time she was, scrolling social media, eating, or taking a personal call. That may be the cause of the state of the room but I would never venture to stay there again!

Bad, they have bedbug

When we checked in there qas mouse feces all over the room. They said they would clean it while we were out. They didnt. We finally made them put us in another room. The cost isnt worth it.

Bathroom was dirty. Shower grout was black in spots. Floor looked like it was not cleaned. Mini Shampoo, conditioner, lotion bottles were dirty and clearly re-used/refilled rather than replaced. One bed had only top sheets and no blanket.

Hotel room had a musty smell upon entering. Carpet floors in hotel room and walls had visible staining. Floor in hotel room was littered with food debris in various places. Upholstered chairs in hotel room were visibly dirty. Hotel elevator floor was sticky. Customer service at front desk was poor. When asking front desk for a blanket and pillow so my child could utilize the sofa bed, was told, “We don’t have any.” I was instead given a sheet only. Hallways in hotel are rather dark. Free breakfast provided was adequate. Please seek elsewhere for a quality hotel room. I have stayed at other Comfort Suites, specifically in Lancaster and it was an amazing stay with clean room. This place is the opposite, considering I spent a decent amount for my stay, a certain level of quality is to be expected such as clean floors and better customer service. This hotel is the equivalent of a pay by night motel where you have to keep your shoes on in the rooms. I am not writing this review hoping to get my money back or some type of credit but rather to inform others out there to not support a location like this that charges a decent sum of money and then provides a less than quality experience. The hotel management will respond to this communication with a nicely worded, “I’m sorry etc..” but please seek elsewhere. There are better hotels in the area. Vote with your money and allow locations like this that take your money and offer a bad experience to close down. Take care and God Bless.

Room was filthy, the entire hotel smelled like various strong scents. I have never stayed in a worse hotel. Ever.

Bathroom had hair in the shower and a cockroach Bed had hair and crumbs. Paid for two rooms next to each other and they wouldn’t relocate because there wasn’t an issue for both rooms& housekeeping was done for the day. Expect more from a chain hotel

Our room had clearly not been cleaned. Coffee stains on the counter, pee stains on the toilet, stains on the tile floor that all could have and should have been cleaned. When I called the front desk and asked for them to come clean the room and change the bed sheets I was told housekeeping leaves at 3 and nothing could be done. Absolutely disgusting. Pick a different hotel….

The room was dirty and hasn't been cleaned in a while. The bathroom was horrible. Had to buy cleaning supplies to clean the tub and toilet plus the floor. Had to spray Lysol all over the bed, bedding, and pillows.

When we arrived, we were told, the previous people in our room were smoking pot and the room smelled. They had been trying to clean out the smell before we arrived. After accepting the room, because they were sold out & we had a wedding to attend with no time to look elsewhere, we realized the bathroom sink was stopped/did not drain. We went out to eat and returned to the maintenance man working on the sink...and finally success!! Later that night, I realized the electric plug, at the sink in the bathroom, didn't work. The next morning the same maintenance man returned. Sadly, he couldn't fix the problem. So I had to use an electric wall receptacle set with 4 plugs available, near a mirror, so I could do my hair & make up. Sadly, the plugs from the light and hairdryer would not stay in the wall receptacle!! I moved a table over to the receptacle, which held the wires in place. The breakfast food was great, the staff was great, the maintenance man did all he could. The building needs an inspector to check all the systems out.

Bed was comfortable!

Room was nicely laid out. Liked the separate sitting area but very little water pressure for the sink (shower was okay) and several electric outlets and light switches didn’t work in the room, including those at the bedside. No cleaning service either. Some staff was friendly while others were in their phone and never acknowledged you coming or going.

The room was generally clean, but the property itself had a lot of damage with the door veneer peeling and poor water pressure from the sink and shower. There was also a sizable cockroach found on the wall where the couch was located on our first day.

The beds wer extremely comfortable and staff was nice. But the rooms wer missing phones, clocks and remotes. The refrigerator was not cold, and most of the outlets didn't work.

Nice, clean, quiet property. The only problem was that the TV kept cutting out, sometimes for hours at a time. Other than that, a very nice stay.

Staff was great, hotel is clean, but the bathroom situation is annoying. There is very little water pressure and the shower is dangerously slippery. My child almost smashed her face into the glass shower door after slipping. Not cool!

The water pressure in the shower was horrible. The door keys weren't working correctly. I had to be let in by a worker. There was a broken door on the refrigerator cabinet.

We arrived to find our reservation for two queen beds was not honored—even though we booked in advance for three adults. The hotel was oversold, and our reserved room was given away. We were offered one of two remaining rooms: a king or a king with a sleeper sofa directly off the noisy lobby. We took the latter, only to find the sleeper mattress wrapped in shrink wrap (we were later told it was to keep bugs off). The hotel gave us a set of sheets and expected us to make the bed ourselves—still no mattress pad and no blanket. They wanted our son to sleep on plastic with no proper bedding. We had to find him a room at another hotel last-minute, which cost $300/night due to local events. Housekeeping never cleaned our room. When we asked about it, the front desk told us we were supposed to request service in advance—something we were never informed about. They also didn’t give us clean towels; we were told we had to bring our used towels to the front desk to exchange them. Again, no one ever told us this. When I raised concerns with the manager, she escalated to the owner, who offered a mere 25% discount. I requested a complimentary night, since I needed to a room at another hotel,which was denied. The hallways smelled, the carpet in our room was sticky, and the nightstand was pulled from the wall. This experience was unacceptable. I will never stay at a Comfort Inn again—especially this one

The one staff member was eating fried chicken at the front desk and was very rude. Breakfast was 2 loaf of dollar store bread and some waffles. Would never stay here again. Lots of other hotels in the same area.

I didn’t like how rude the front desk woman from 3Pm to 11pm I checked in for couple days so i needed extra towels she was highly upset that the next day I asked for room service they literally left my room door open the entire day i come back to my room at 1130 At night and noticed the door is open on lock position so they forgot to unlock the lock switch so anybody could went to my. Room while I was gone the whole day

We didn’t get any service. We stayed 4 days and we were told no cleaning or towels delivered to us unless we stayed longer. We had to bring are used towels to the front desk to get clean ones. Our garbage cans were overflowing. I have never stayed anywhere that didn’t give any service at all. We will not stay at a comfort Inn again.

Our reservation could not be found. We had our confirmation with us but we ended up paying a second time for our room. The hotel was convenient to our route, clean, with great staff. Breakfast was ok. Not in a great neighborhood for walking.

Located minutes from everything

Easy to find. Close to food and activities.

Great property. Easy access from highway. Staff very friendly. Renovated, clean and presentable. Well worth the $ if staying in the area

Overall, it was a clean and comfortable stay. Rooms are a bit small, but very comfy. Bathrooms are nice but water pressure is not very good. Location is great to downtown Reading. About a $10 Uber ride. Only drawback to staying here was the continental breakfast. The only things they had were slices of bread, waffle mix, and cereal. We stayed during the Labor Day weekend which probably had something to do with it. Front desk is friendly

Quit clean and easy to get anywhere

Came for WW2 weekend, it’s within a 15 minute drive. Quiet area will stay again

Property needed a little maintenance. Missing window shade in my room, phone charger outlet wasn’t working on one side of bed, and breakfast buffet had broken juice. All relatively small, but noticeable damage.

Jus the breakfast have to be better, enough and more variety… really is poor..

This was by far the worse property I have stayed at ever. When I checked in was greeted by a very unfriendly staff member who seemed more interested in the video she was watching on her iPad them serving me with a smile. She then proceed to tell me the ice machine and vending machine were out of order and have been like this for some time. The first morning breakfast was non existent. No fruit, no yogurt. The only option we had was toast, Cheerios, powdered eggs or waffle. Not even juice was available. Morning 2 breakfast was a little better. Yogurt was available and some sort of sausage to accompany the powdered eggs. Night 2 an alarm when off and the elevator was out. There was a leaking ceiling in the kitchen. When I went to have a coffee there was no milk. When I asked for some it was like I was being difficult as I received attitude “like how dare you ask for milk”. I went to the front desk and immediately asked to check out early. The girl smiled and said no problem. I asked how long the hotel had been like this and her response was for a while now and the owners are fully aware. Never again for me….

Very small breakfast Saturday morning they had very little food available Could not keep up. Other wise for the price it was good

The hotel was in a good location for our needs. All staff we encountered were friendly and professional. While parts of the hotel had undergone remodelling, parts still require freshening like the carpeting. Breakfast area supplied everything necessary for an adequate start for your day, was well taken care of and refreshed as was needed. We would stay here again when in the area.

Hotel does not provide facial tissues. Sink faucet had very poor water flow and the drain smelled of sewer gas. The window shade was missing and only had the blackout shade as an option which during the day for privacy is too dark. No towel or bed linen service was conducted during a 3 night stay. Breakfast was decent and the staff where pleasant.
