Econo Lodge Cranston - Providence

This hotel is as basic as you can get. The queen size bed was pretty comfortable; sheets were very very thin but clean and soft, as were the pillows. The bedside lampshades were all bent. The bathroom had a stall shower with a lip less than two inches high. It really should have had a door on it but it only had a shower curtain, so, water on the floor. The walls in the bathroom were horribly covered with cement and then just painted a drab grey; no tiles. The sink was the tiniest rectangular sink I’ve ever seen. And it was loose on the wall and leaning forward, so anything you put on the 3 inch wide top around the sink, would just slide down into the sink. It needs serious renovation. Our room was on the ground floor, and the huge white florescent sign shown into our window. There was an old heavy curtain that kept out most of the light. And the parking area was right at the edge of the highway so I was afraid if there was an accident there, they could’ve slammed into our car. They do have a little coffee machine in the room, but no coffee anywhere else. The clock radio didn’t work and the button to change the time had paint on it so you couldn’t change it. I unplugged it but it should be discarded. And there was a decent television, but you had to turn it on and off from the back, then change the stations with the remote. It was an inexpensive hotel, but they really need to send a little money on it. If I do try it again, I will ask for a room in the back.

Hotel give me the room 107 next to a room was under bathroom renovation, was so loud that wall vibration. The guys was from 1pm working until 8:30pm . Such a shame be charged for a room and not should give it to anyone. Paid $140 , really ? No apology or refund. No consideration with customers, should let the customer knows before you book a room .

This was not the worst motel I’ve stayed at but not great. The exterior is a lot more attractive than the rooms. The main issue being the metal bed frames protrudes out from the bed and about 10 seconds into our stay I injured myself. We walked in and since it was during a heatwave I went to turn the air conditioner on and boom. Not a great way to start a trip. My daughter and I ended up hanging our neck pillows on the bars so it wouldn’t happen again. Then to add insult to injury I went to jump in the shower and get the blood off my leg and the shower was really dirty. They offer shampoo and body wash but no conditioner. Then midday when we came back to the room to rest before dinner there was no resting. There was construction next to our room that no one informed us about. Still looking for affordable options for trips since my daughter will be attending University in Providence but we will not be returning to this location.

Plenty of parking area, quiet. Needs general work done.

The room and property did not look like what it did in pictures. The whole main office was in the middle of a renovation project which is understandable, but my room looked awful. The window latch was broken and the window itself was left open. The cable box needs to be replaced, It kept overheating and shutting off. The free wifi did not work. Homeless and addicts around every corner. Definitely not worth what I paid for.

Needs to be renovated and properly cleaned

From the outside, it doesn't look like much. Check in was efficient. Lobby area is ample to get your room key. Small business area is there too. Going through the building to get to my room seemed a bit sketchy since the stairs and its carpeting are worn. The room however is very nice as it's been remodeled. Nice touch to have a midsized fridge and microwave oven. TV is bare bones - midsized <35 in from my estimation. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. The only thing I had a minor incovenience is that the towels are thin and not too absorbent. Other than that, this place is a hidden gem.

Great location. Clean room. But tons of trash bags on the ground around the dumpster. This has got to attract rats.

Mostly good, place was clean and the rooms were freshly remodeled. The bed was ancient and creaky and the doors were kinda old. There was evidence of damage to the property and some noisy tenants. But they were quiet after about 10pm. Overall good hotel for the price.

The room was pretty clean, including the bathroom. The parking lot was in bad condition. The neighborhood was sketchy at best. I didn’t really feel safe as a woman traveling alone. I chose it because it was close to the airport and it was inexpensive. But I would not stay there again.

We booked a non smoking room but apparently every room is a smoking room. The room reeked of cigarette smoke. The bathroom door wouldn’t close. The shower was broken, no hot water. There was blood on the walls and outlets. The room was filthy, the bedding reeked. No where to hang up your clothes. The floors were covered in paint. When we tried to get a different room, the front desk manager said that nothing was available, when we asked for a refund to go somewhere else, he threatened to call the police on us and have was kicked off the property.

Muddy boot prints in the bathtub and that was all we needed to leave. The desk staff was understanding and issued a credit to Expedia. We now have to go to Expedia for our refund. We’ll see how that goes.

Not to be dramatic, but i’d rather eat off the streets of new york city than sleep in one of these rooms again. The rooms look like they were cleaned by a blind person. Every single towel had discoloration or a stain of some sort, every single one. All the pillows smelled moldy and none of them were identical. We are in a non smoking room, but it smelled smokey. I wonder what the smoke room smells like. The walls are painted different colors. This is a motel out of Breaking Bad. There are stains on the light switches. The clothing iron had lipstick or something on it, and if i hadn’t noticed i would’ve ruined my clothes. Pay the extra money and stay somewhere else. All the other hotels in the area seemed way too pricey or were sold out, but honestly I would have rather stayed all the way in Connecticut and have to drive to providence than book a room here.

This is absolutely the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. I had no choice but to stay the first night, however, was awoken at 6am by my husband who had killed bed bugs, needless to stay I got out as quickly as possible. The room was a disaster part of the wall missing, the door was a mess curtains filthy and literally shredding. Some of the other “guests” were sketchy, police making rounds. The staff was unfriendly and rude. Skeevy is a good adjective for this place. DO NOT stay here

EVERYTHING IN THE ROOM WAS DIRTY, MOLDING AND SMELLED LIKE SMOKING EVEN THOU IT WAS NON SMOKING ROOM. DON'T RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BRING KIDS HERE. THE BATHTUB WAS UNUSABLE DISGUSTING, DUST EVERYWHERE AND MOLD. VERY RUN DOWN! WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

The towels were dirty and the non smoking room smelled like smoke. It’s cheap so I didn’t expect anything amazing but those basics should be doable.

Make sure the towel are not turning yellow they suppose to be white. And the bathroom was disgusting.

We had to leave the property immediately. We booked 3 rooms and they were all invested with cockroaches and bed bugs. It was incredible!

Shower floor was dirty, towels were stained. Forgot my AirPod headphones in my room and they were taken from room. I could see on the Apple app that someone had taken them home. Not staying at this property again

The bed was hard and you can feel the springs against you when trying to sleep. Although the bathroom looks updated in the photos, the shower/tub did not seem to be in person. The water pressure was less than average and water could not pass lukewarm. The first night we were woken up by the room phone ringing at 2am until it was answered and I just hung it back up. Nobody called back after. Later in the morning, housekeeping woke my fiancée and I up again at 9am banging on the door until we answered to ask if we needed anything even though the "do not disturb" sign was hanging on the exterior of the door. Every time a housekeeper saw us leaving the room we were asked if we were checking out, regardless what time of day it was. Our room was average at best. The best part of the hotel was the variety of shopping/restaurants just down the road.

Bathroom and shower were in disrepair. Shower sprayed water all over the back of the toilet and the wall behind.from the showerhead fitting.

Outdated and over priced for a very basic room. We arrived slightly early and were told there would be a $25 early check in fee that the front desk person said he was unable to waive. The heater in the room worked but was really loud, making it difficult to sleep. No stopper in the tub, and the smallest sink we’ve ever seen.

Stay away! Holes in the walls, Hot water LITERALLY takes 5 minutes to arrive at the faucets. Terrible internet. No services. Door key had to be reprogrammed every day, even though I booked for 5 days straight (because who in their right mind would stay here for more than one night, right?). Too bad because this dump is right across the street from a high-end shopping and dining district and only minutes away from awesome casual dining. Ugh.

The place was fine. I wanted an economy room and that's what I got. The TV remote didn't work, but I wasn't there to watch TV so not a big deal.

Pros - Was affordable, paid 140 tax included per night The room was extremely clean - except for stained towels. The property is very close to PVD, and is perfect for getting to the airport in the early AM. Cons - The Beds were hard as a rock. The shower only got to a non-freezing temperature. The curtain was out so far that all of the water went on the bathroom floor.

Small TV and the water would not heat up for the sink or shower. We love the location across from the beautiful garden mall.

The owner/mgr is the most rudes person i have ever met theres more rules there then jail plus after my tripnwas confirmed an i got there he requested another 100$ deposit the room was discusting there was only half a roll of tp in bath room 5he tube had dirt in the hottom of it there was pee stains in the back of 5he toilt it smelled mildewy i went to office to complain he said call hotels an ask for refund wouldnt switch out the roomno remote for the.tv the cleaning people banging on the door at.7am asking if we.were.checking out when chkout was 11when he wrnt.to get the deposit back he said rhat the towel was stained an.i had 3 guests.in.the.room.this morning an.he mept $50 for that hes a scum a theif an wicked rude ithat placenis nothing but people doing drugs all over that.placeit should b reported an.closwd down do not.ever bring your kids there its a hotel.that houses the drug addicts an.the.homeless people stay awasy.feom this hotel nothing but trouble an the.most discusting.jotel i have ever ben in

When we arrived at the motel, there was nobody there to check us in, there was a sign that said to call a number for check-in, but that just rang a front desk telephone. We waited about 10 minutes. Nobody answered the phone. Nobody called us back later. We ended up having to sleep somewhere else.

The staff was horrible. They would walk in my room without my approval even though I announced I was there. They wanted to charge me for an extra card for the door because I lost mine. I had to beg them for an extra roll of toilet paper and they complained about everything

You will get double charged from the hotel. They told me my credit card that I prepaid from Expedia was declined. I had a printed paid in full itinery, they took another card for security, charged that 3 times. I had to dispute the charges with the bank, send in the receipt from Expedia etc. The room had holes in the wall, smelled like smoke and the sheets were dirty, it was absolutely disgusting but due to time we could not go to another place to stay. I would not go here.

The room was clean and staff was friendly. The hot water wasn't always working, but otherwise it was a nice stay! Will be back!

My stay was disrupted by several incidents. Employees were speaking loudly in the parking lot in a foreign language. Despite our "Do Not Disturb" sign, one of them knocked very forcefully on our door, abruptly waking me up. I also noticed rodents in the parking lot during the night. The price was reasonable, but these inconveniences unfortunately affected my experience. I would appreciate if the establishment could address these issues to improve comfort for future guests.

July 14, 430am Econolodge parking lot **************************** My wheelchair-bound partner and I are sleeping in my truck in the Econolodge Cranston parking lot while the room we reserved sits empty, safe and air-conditioned. I made reservations with Hotels.com and we were good to go. However, complications at the hospital and then car trouble made 3pm check-in impossible. I notified Hotels.com and they forwarded the message to Econolodge Cranston stating that I would not be able to check in until after midnight. Again, good to go just getting there later. We drove 200miles and at 230am, exhausted, the night manager told me my reservation was canceled. He then made it clear he was done with me and refused to pursue any possible solution. The solution was obvious... The room was unoccupied and the original customer was standing in the lobby, credit card in-hand. The night manager said several times that "the room was not occupied", then followed up with, " You can not have it because your reservation is canceled" Can anybody there describe the successful business model that aligns with or supports those two statements? Anybody? You, in the back row? Bueller? Anybody? The property was informed that I would be late but canceled my reservation anyway? Why? And why wasn't I notified? We did everything right and Econolodge/Choice Hotels put us out in the street.

My only problem was, the staff will not wake you up in a wake up call and yet their clock and microwave keeps going out. I lost my phone and only had to rely on them for time.

It was convenient

location safe and close to the area’s quaint gift shops. staff was respectful, there’s ample parking at the back of the building, and facilities were clean.

Ok for a quick stay Location was great for the comic con at the convention center easy to get to from there

The garden city is right across the street convenient for everything

The hotel is located in an isolated area and at the same time a five minute drive to Shaw's super market.

Convenient place to stay when you're visiting Rhode Island. It's close to the city and highway thus great to commute.

My room was remodeled, had a nice overnight stay, was there to go to a Tulip farm, beaches in close proximity as well. The mall across the street was upscale only open 10-8.

The place was ok. By what we read about it online we thought they offered Breakfast but they do not. Also our Toilet leaked! But we felt safe and comfortable enough.

The room was dirty......beer bottle caps on the floor. Mold in the shower area. Drywall/plaster chunks in the shower area. Parking lot was filthy. No breakfast in the morning. A poor experience and I will not return to this facility the next time on my business trip to Cranston, RI

The area is very nice with lots of dining and shopping. The hotel, although initially looks new and renovates, it’s a facade. Bed was horribly uncomfortable, bathroom was alright but shower curtain and towels were less than clean. Even non smoking room smelled slightly of smoke because other guests smoke right outside the room. More attention needs to be placed on cleanliness.

Check in was easy and the staff members were very friendly. Room was a decent size it was clean. Furniture was very old and used (scratched surfaces everywhere). TV was ok needs updating. Outside of hotel was dirty broken window panes everywhere didn’t look like the picture at all. Breakfast was a juice machine and a coffee machine. It more like sugar water.. Lucky it is close to restaurants and dining so didn’t have to travel far for breakfast.

So my children and I stayed here for one singular night. Checked in for 3pm and was informed there is not a coffee service as advertised, however there’s coffee in the room. I arrived to my room we were assigned and immediately could tell the room was not cleaned from prior use. I informed the housekeeping and they went straight in. After waiting a additional 10 minutes, which normally I wouldn’t mind for the sake of having a clean room 3 housekeepers exited the room and said it was all set. I could tell immediately they didn’t change the sheets or blankets and they only had remade the beds. The room had a foul, musty scent. The walls have multiple small holes, and stains throughout the room on the windows, furniture, and bedding. But truly the thing that threw me for a loop is the very obvious black mold on the bathroom wall and ceiling. Due to the fact we didn’t have any other options for the night we had to stay here. The shower pressure is terrible and there isn’t hot water, Luke warm at best. Beds are old spring mattresses, but they’re not the worst either. Only pros for this stay are: room has microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker, it has free wifi, and decent amount of channels to choose from. For the price per night this is too much for the lackluster quality. I’d personally rate then 1.5-2 stars. We will not be returning.

All preconceived notions of this place were thrown out the window immediately. Front desk staff is incredibly friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. The bathroom renovations are impeccable and the cleanliness inside and out is unparalleled. They are working hard to obliterate any and all issues from years prior. Even the vibes and behaviors from the other guests is so much better than it ever was. This place has really stepped up their game and i would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area--especially considering the proximity to so many restaurants and stores.

I have never seen a hotel where customers are not provided with breakfast, this is rediculou! With all the amount of money you are charging!! No breakfast at all? The towels have stains. Very unwelcoming front desk person. The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Looks elegant on the outside, inside is a nightmare. Never ever charge a book by its cover. Run!!!!!!

Shower was hot but you could not change the settings of the shower head The tub was slippery. All the lights worked by the switch at the door didn’t connect to any lamp The price was good but if I had an option I would’ve paid a little more for a breakfast
