Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Rapid City

Super friendly staff! Checked in at 10pm, and the desk clerk couldn't have been friendlier! As of July 1, 2024, the pool was not functioning, so maybe not a great choice for a vacationing family right now. Room was very clean and super comfortable. Modern decor and streamline finishes. Lots of usb ports for charging cords and lots of plugins. Breakfast was a standard hotel bfast that I didn't take time for, but the gravy for the biscuits and gravy smelled delicious! Morning check out staff was just as friendly as the night staff. They are remodeling, so there is some construction equipment around. Property sits in a cluster of other hotels, but is very well lit. Is a little tricky to find, but is easy to get to and easy acccess off of I90. DEFINITELY reccomend & will be my first go-to when coming thru Rapid City again.

Experience is what is described. An expanded continental breakfast is offered, the rooms are equipped with the basic necessities, and the place is clean. Check in was efficient and we slept very well. our animals were accommodated and they have a nice grassy area around the property for taking your four-legged out. However, not a lot of people pick up after their pets so be cautious when walking in the grass.

The elevator is slow. Stayed there for 3 nights & 4 days, no one ever came to clean the room.

We brought our family with children and they enjoyed the breakfast, the pool and we took advantage of the laundry facilities. We would stay here again

The price for the stay was reasonable, rooms are small, bathroom is way outdated, toilet very low to the ground, and toilet paper almost behind the toilet on the wall. Location was good, breakfast didn't have a lot of options only hot items were oatmeal, and waffles. Pool was alright for a few people and sauna was boarded closed. They said they were short staffed but the staff working was very polite.

We were disappointed to see the hot tub boarded up and unavailable for use. The sink in the bathroom was slow in draining.

Hotel was good. Very friendly staff, clean rooms and bedding. Pool was very small, and there wasn't much counter space or storage space, so organizing the room for 4 people was a bit of a struggle. Would stay here again.

Beware of additional charge of 10.00 at checkout, that the counter manager old not explain. The breakfast is not a full breakfast.Pool was out of service and not on the web site

Great breakfast bar. Front desk staff for both day and night were very kind. Super nice that each floor had an ice machine. The little mini mart was pretty expensive but convenient so we didn’t have to leave in the middle of the night.

We arrived to find the pool was closed. This was poor. We then discovered the name micro meant the size of your room. If I tried to swing a cat I would have broken my arms. The room was tiny. Then I discovered that they do not provide soap in the bathroom. How unhygienic!

The rooms are run down, air conditioner smelled awful, and there were bugs crawling on the floor. It was unfortunate.

Poor cleanliness in bathroom. Coffee make didnt work. Terrible bed and dirty linens. Paid for 2 nights, but left after the first night.

This property was very dirty and outdated. Used products in the bathrooms, brown-reddish plainly visible stains on the bedskirts and stains on the sheets as well. I traveled to stay here with my two young children and felt very unsafe here due to the state of the property and the likes of the crowd that I saw here at the property while I stayed here. There was a woman screaming and crying on the front steps and one of the managers consoling her as if she were her own daughter possibly? A lot of odd activity here. Cops patrolling the area

While we have stayed in the Microtel's Queen suites before, we were thrilled with our 2 queen bed room. The hotel was recently remodeled & it was very updated & clean. There was maid service every day, which was surprising since Covid. We have always liked this hotel, but the updates made it even nicer.

The bed skirt on our beds had many visible stains. The smell of the room was musty. The tub didn’t drain. In general, not a clean hotel. Needs updating and a good cleaning.

Room smelled very, very musty. So much so that we worried our clothes would smell that way after leaving. Furniture is in poor condition. Bathroom was in poor condition also.

Carpet had areas of wear and was torn. It was hard to get a consistent temperature in the room. Internet wouldn't connect. Staff was very nice at checkin though.

The shower went from hot to cold. The noise between rooms was awful. Room wasnt as clean.

Stayed 2x over 5 days. 1st stay was in a suite and that room was really nice, fridge, sink, sitting area along with a “queen” bed (they look more like full than queen). 2nd stay was a regular room, room looked worn. Bed, again a “queen” was not very comfortable (worn out). Sockets were too big what ever I plugged in just fell out. If given a choice the suite is a better option. Seemed safe, a lot of vagrants walking around the main rd but didn’t have any issues the two nights I stayed.

Forgot that we booked the family suite so we were pleasantly surprised when we walked into a suite with a bedroom and pull out couch bed. Shower was the only thing I would complain about. The temperature would not stay where you set it. It was extremely hot. I mean scalding hot. Then get ice cold and back to scalding. Plenty of towels and they are fluffy towels too. The beds were comfortable. We ended up not needing the sofa bed so not sure how comfortable that one was. The couch itself was very hard but that’s ok it was still a place to sit. The room had a sink in the room with the microwave and fridge. Will definitely book this room again.

I really liked the rooms, but I am a modern minimalist so it appealed to me. I did not like the Bible in the room so hid it during my stay. The staff seemed to lack training and often the front desk staff were absent. Coffee is HORRIBLE! and it would be nice to have a small outdoor area for sitting. But it was affordable and I would stay there again.

It was great other than taking a shower if any room close by flushed the toilet or turned on the water my shower turned to cold water

Liked the room except no dresser or wardrobe to hang clothes. Had to keep suitcases out. The breakfast wasnt great. No eggs or meat!

Check in was horrible. The front desk had no one present for 30 minutes and we think she was sleeping in the back.

My room at the hotel was very comfortable .... I have no complaints! The staff was especially welcoming, and I have to say ... they were all busy working together to help the guests have the best stay possible. I truly enjoyed Tamara, who was at front desk, helping with the breakfast, and just being very pleasant!

I’ve rated the staff a 4 - Bret and Bow were excellent! They were polite, and very helpful. One girl (Thur Eve) was drunk! She had vodka in a bottle that fell out of her clothes while she was outside smoking. At least 5 customers were in line waiting for her not only was it a bad experience for them (and me-I’ll explain), but she endangered your other customers and the facility. She could barely stand up. She could never have provided any directions in case of an emergency or a fire. She was incoherent. She sent the same customer to 2 or 3 rooms that were already occupied. The (same) customer was asked for their ID 4x - she already had it sitting in front of her on the computer ledge. They had to keep telling her she had the ID’s. Sad. She yelled at multiple folks including me - for asking for change-and I heard her arguing with several others. Unfortunately she was so drunk that the customers were having conversation about her behavior right in front of her and she was clueless. In my opinion, she endangered the customers, failed to keep the building safe (she was the only employee there) and gave extremely poor service - not to mention the smoking and drinking ON THE JOB!!!!! I recommend she be fired immediately. Totally unacceptable. If it wasn’t for the WIFI being down, Erica would have got an email from me. I did write a summary before I left. Stay was decent. Great room. No notice that the pool was’t available and no soap for 5 days! How much more can I say.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. I loved our room. It had an extra bedroom. Which was nice , because we brought our granddaughter with us. Our room was clean and tidy. The only thing that was wrong was the sink in the bathroom was clogged. I heard they are remodeling in October. I just hope they keep the great low prices. I would stay there again

My worst Hotel Experience in my life. Front Desk was rude. Cleaning people were rude. Ice machine woke us up every hour. It’s loud. Will never go back. The owner should fire everyone and start over.

Convenient for travel and food

It's an older property, but can't beat the price for a two night stay. Both the front desk were great. Walmart and food options were within walking distance. There was plenty of free parking space. I like they had a laundry room and front desk had change for quarters. I would recommend if you're on a budget. It is a 2 star hotel, free breakfast was okay.

I stay at this Microtel location every time I am in Rapid City. This was a two night stay and I booked a bit late.BUT- I was put in a little suite that was perfect. DoorDash is very quick here- even on a Saturday night. This property is linked to several others and is safe , clean and easy to access from I-90.

Sketchy area

Nice dog friendly hotel with plenty of grass at the end of a cul de sac so not much traffic and quiet. Rented the accessible room for it was quite spacious even able to.play ball (gently) with the dog but shes only 20 lbs! Staff all friendly. Breakfast was limited to cereal, muffins and waffles but breakfast area was roomy and very clean. Excellent value and will stay again.

Spent 3 nights here and was perfect for us. Close & convenient to everything we needed.

In an older part of townn

Short overnight trip, quiet, very comfortable. Close to interstate. New hotel. I'm sure this will become a very popular hotel. Very nice.

If renovations had been completed and able to use the pool would have been excellent. Staff on reception on evening shift exceptional. Easy access and good location.

We had a suite which was roomy and well appointed, but the couch was very uncomfortable and poorly placed to watch TV. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Much more than the usual grab and go fare. Waffles, biscuits and GOOD gravy, hard=boiled eggs, fruit, and yogurt. Coffee etc. available 24/7 in lobby.

The staff were very helpful. The buffet breakfast gave view very few options.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Microtel Inn! The price was so much lower than other hotels and it was so nice! My room was huge - I had a queen bed suite which included the bed, a sleeper sofa, a small kitchenette area, tons of space to put your stuff away and a decent size bathroom. Everything was updated and in great condition. The breakfast they provide was well maintained every morning and with pretty decent options - waffles, biscuits & gravy, toast/bagels, yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, fruit and other small items. There was also a pool that I did not use but was open until 4am-midnight so that's nice for folks who might be traveling at odd hours. They also had guest laundry, which I used and it was much cheaper than going to a laundromat. It is also really close to a shopping center with restaurants, so in a great location. Overall, I loved my stay here!
