Check-in was fine. However the parking lot was very tight, pool was permanently closed, breakfast was the worst breakfast we've ever had during an overnight stay, and check-out was not to be desired. There wasn't one single employee around to check out and that was me standing there for nearly 5 minutes. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We arrive and there is a sign on the door that the hot tub and pool are closed permanently. this should be advertised as such when making online reservations, we would not have chosen this hotel had it been properly advertised. we were the only vehicle in the parking lot when we go there to check in at 3:30PM and had to wait an hour for the second room to be cleaned. On day 3 and upon checking out, we found out one of the rooms had a window that slides open with no lock or screen, we even tested it from the outside. Anyone could have gotten into that room at any time. Not to mention what appeared to be a transaction between a construction worker and a "working woman" right in front of us. we will not stay at this hotel again.

Room was spacious and very clean. Appears rooms were recently painted. No blankets on beds, just sheets, but requested blankets. Pool was being renovated so it was closed. Chose this hotel because it has a pool for our kids. Would be nice if this was advertised on Expedia, hotel website and posted when you check in so families are aware or can choose other options. Simple, but good continental breakfast.

Property is under renovation .pool and spa were empty and not as advertised. Bed was cheap and uncomfortable with a topper. No sound barrier between 1st and second floor, so awake many times in the night as upstairs people walked. Coke and water machine out of order. Etc etc. Maybe next year it will be ready

I booked this stay specially for the pool and hottub. When we checked in, there was a sign at the desk that said “pool permanently closed”. Such a bummer

We paid way to much for a place that needed updated badly. They have a pool but it closed. They need a elevator.

Rooms smelled. Front desk was not helpful. Couldn’t check in even 15 minutes early. Told there was no TVs that work in any rooms. Notified no pool and hot tub were permanently not working after booking. No coffee in the morning, it was empty.

Only complaint I have is that we chose that hotel because it said it had a swimming pool. I guess technically it does just with no water in it or the jacuzzi.Was not the only family with children that stayed there for that reason. Also found out that it had been empty for 2 years now.

The main reason for choosing this hotel was for the swimming pool and hot tub. Upon checking in, I found out both had been drained. Also there was to be breakfast which was not available on Monday morning, not that it was worth eating Saturday or Sunday.

One of the reasons for booking this hotel was because it said it had a pool. Checked in and the sign on the front desk stated the pool was permanently closed. The floor corners were dirty and gross. The remote didn't work. Pulled out the nightstand to use the plug, and it hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. The breakfast wasn't much of anything; the apple juice was gross, and the creamer had chunks in it. Very dissatisfied.

The bathroom walls and shower had mold, wallpaper coming off, there were clothes left from a previous customer, and stains on the bed. Makes you wonder if anything was actually cleaned. 2 separate vending machines took a $5 bill each. We stayed because it was our only option.

The place is run down, worn out, and dirty. Was worried about fleas and bed bugs so when a huge spider ran across the floor I was done. Very gross place.

The cleanliness of our room was subpar at best. Their pool is permanently closed- which was never stated until we arrived and saw the pool and hot tub were both drained, which is unfortunate as it was one of the reasons we booked here.

Dirty night stand, light between beds had no shades only bulbs. Carpet not clean.

The "suite" was filthy and smelled terrible. I doubt it had been vacuumed in a month. The bathroom was absolutely gross and moldy. The suite was just two rooms, one with beds and one with two chairs and a tv- no couch. I asked for a roll away and they did not have one or a couch in the room. I would never have paid extra for a "suite" if I knew there was no couch or pull out. The staff was just a step above rude. The pool was closed permanently (which was not advertised) and that was one of the main reasons I booked there.

The room wasn't bad, we were disappointed in the fact that you have to ask for housekeeping and out of the 6 night stay we only received housekeeping 1 time. We had to ask for clean towels every evening. Our bedding was never changed the whole time we were there. Our trash was taken out 1 time the whole time we were there. The pillows are extremely hard and uncomfortable. There isn't a microwave in the room. When we asked for towels 1 evening the young women at the desk told me she would bring me some towels to the room but never did. The gentleman who worked the late night shift was wonderful, he gave me towels and apologized for our room not being serviced and he left a note for the next day shift reminding them. They never serviced our room again. For the price we paid for the room all we actually needed was clean towels daily and clean linen once during our stay. The pool was out of service also.

The phone didn't work, or the TV. The water was cold and the place was dirty

Our room was very dirty. It was a non smoking room but smelled like smoke. The TV only had 5 channels and there were no instructions on how to get access to streaming or additional channels. Very disappointed in our stay. I have had excellent stays at other Baymonts so I was looking forward to this one. Spending over $300 and getting a crappy room was not ideal.

Beds were terrible. Room was dusty. Haven’t cleaned behind nightstand in a long time. Haven’t washed the bed skirts in a while. Was trash under the mattress. Shower had some sort of funky hard water/soap buildup. Shower head height is for shorter people. I’m 5’7” and had to duck to use the shower head. Advertised as a suite and it was just a regular room.

Bed bugs and stains on sheets also hair all over floors. Both rooms that were booked are like this

Pool is closed indefinitely which we were unaware of. Website still says they have a pool. No mirror in the bathroom. Toilet was running when we got there. Blanket felt like a sheet rather than any sort of comforter. No updates have been made.

Desk clock non-working (reported -no offer of replacement), air conditioner knobs gone- only could On or OFF, top vents had mold on them. Maid service people didn't even speak enough English to understand a simple room service request. Pool out of service. Beds were comfortable, only good thing. Not even a small table or desk for using a computer etc, one small very short coffee table of no use--it contained the room coffee pot etc. and only could have served as working area if you wanted to empty it, then be humped over a short knee height table in front of you. Bathroom door was so tight and close to the toilet going in and coming out that a heavy set person would never had been able to get in the bathroom. Very poor design, luckily we are not heavy set people! Overall, very disappointing room rental--not recommended-cheap IS cheap for sure there. We visit Spearfish SD several times a year, never at the Baymont again. It was busy week in Spearfish: convening college and area Motorcycle Rally, everyplace was full. Ours was last minute reservation. Should have been hint as to quality: availability & few vehicles in the lot. Two desk gals not friendly, no hello, not even a kind greeting (to us or people ahead of us) one wearing a hijab didn't even smile. We certainly know why they had a room opening and were absolutely not full of patrons when everywhere else in town was booked. First room review I have ever written (in 50 years) but this place deserves a poor rating.

When traveling with four children, we have to stay in the larger rooms. The room we had was quite spacious with two queens in one room and a sofa sleeper in the other room. The beds were ok. The sheets were clean and neatly made. The sofa sleeper was in poor shape. The cushions were nearly worn out. When extended, the foot of the bed was noticeably higher than the head. It sagged terribly in the middle. There were no sheets for the sofa bed. I recalled the website saying we had to pay extra per person for the sheets so we used our own linen. There was a TV in each room. One room had a brand new tv that still had the energy guide sticker stuck to it but it had not been hooked up. It was just sitting on the stand. The reception in both rooms TVs was poor. There were only three towels for a room that sleeps six. The most disappointing part was that it didn’t appear to have been vacuumed well. There were many small easily vacuumed items on the floor.

The bed was great, loved the soft sheets, room was clean. The shower head was plugged and no water came out. The AC had no control knobs. It was on on or off. There was no blow dryer in the room. Pool and hot tub permanently closed. Breakfast was fair.

In the expedia listing it says pool and hot tub is included but, on the way to the room there is a sign that says pool/hot tub permanently closed. When turning the TV on.. it was just static but when you call down for help they tell you to push the channel button a few times and you will see channels and that did work. In the room it says you have about 50 channels but in reality there is 12. Also.. if you leave the TV on for more than 20 min the volume would quit working then you have to unplug the TV and plug it back in to get it to work for another 20 min before having to do it all over again. I know it wasn't just our TV because the people down the hall from us had the same problems with both of their rooms. Our window was cracked but we had to open it because the air did not work the best. The parking lot at night is a big party with people drinking and really loud music and the next morning the vehicles are all gone, so i am not sure if they were even staying at the hotel or not. The side door to the hotel is left open 24/7 and there was a bat inside of the hall and the staff did not care at all. The complimentary breakfast is a waffle maker. Unfortunately for us this was a last minute trip and there was a really big car show going on that we did not know about so this was one of the more affordable options because the rest were $500 in the area for that weekend and we stayed for a few nights.. so this review is not off just one night.

The internet advertised this having a pool however when we arrived it says pool is permanently closed at the desk. The whole hotel is outdated by about 30 yrs and smelled like old smoke in our room. The room was supposed to have a pull out couch but only had a regular couch without a pullout and looked like it was pulled out of someone's basement. It was way overpriced for what it was in every way.

Checked in an hour ago. Tv wouldnt work so maintenance was called. Drawers wont stay in.

Toilet leaking all over the floor No microwave TV didn’t work and no remote control Shower head lower than code allows Not pleased at all with the property. Other people were also complaint of poor condition of their rooms! The gals at the desk were cordial.

The employee/night auditor seemed rather rude or off-putting when I first entered the hotel, but was more professional and respectful while checking me in. Quiet, clean hotel conveniently located just off of Interstate 90. Thank you!

Unfortunately when I came to check in at 10pm they had a brand new employee working who had no idea how to check someone in , never mind someone who was using a third party booking. The clerk was nice and tried to be friendly but when they are having to spend the entire check in texting someone to “help” them and 45 min later you finally get the keys. During this check in process I was told numerous times that my prepaid card was declining and that I wasn’t going to get my room because the card that was sent hotels.com just didn’t work . Finally when who ever the clerk was texting to figured out what to do on there side she text him and told him they got it figured out. I was finally able to check in it my room 45 min laters . When I got to my room the keys he’d had givin me didn’t work so I had to go back and get keys made again . All in all my check in was horrible. The rooms are clean and uncluttered, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable and all I did was toss and turn all night.

Everything was good iit is a cheaper hotel and were worried about the reviews but itbwas comfortable and the staff was amazing

Had a reservation for two rooms went to check in only to find a note on the door with a number to call for assistance. After a few tries no one answered and ended up having to hunt down another hotel, but what what really gets me is after looking at my email i found that they checked me in and charged me for the rooms. STAY AWAY

Check in photocopied my ID and credit card. My bedroom window would not lock and nobody was available to address this in middle of night. Area around hotel and condition of hotel has not aged well. Pool closed permenantly.

Had reservations and confirmation numbers got there and they couldn’t find me, I showed them the booking info they said that I need to call the third party I booked with, I did and Expedia called them and told Expedia that they would not honor the price that I had booked for over six months ago which we planned this out so we could go to Sturgis 85th the staff didn’t care to call the manager to see what they could do they just kept saying not their problem so after two and half hours on the phone with Expedia I got another room 11 miles away from spearfish. I just know if a hotel is going to work with a third party that if something happens on either ends that they should honor it no matter what because that was the price then. Expedia got me a hotel for the price I booked for and it wasn’t a bad hotel. But the principle of it all is practice good business dont be so cold to people who travelled for two days and dump bad news on them and not even try to help.

No parking for vehicles pulling trailers. Front desk makes copies of your ID and Credit Card.

In our room hole patched but not painted, television did not work cable box pulled out of the wall, smoke dry had trash over it in ceiling. Shower for someone 4 ft tall, breakfast was non existent only rolls and cereal, noisy!!! Heard people arguing till 2 am

The hotels.com description say pool upon arrival there was a sign on desk that said pool is permanently closed. Very disappointed since i had children waiting to swim. Once i made it to my room i discovered there also was no microwave and refrigerator in my room not to mention the fresh paint smell was a little overwhelming. The tv wouldn't work. I had to unplug it all and reset it. This trip was in February and the heat wasn't even on in the room. Minimal breakfast items available also.

While the check in was superb and the room was very clean, the breakfast could use a lot of work. There was a nice selection of teas but no water for it. The juice dispenser was out of order for how long. Where was the milk for the cereal? All in all, a very disappointing breakfast offering!

To call a room a suite was a bit of a stretch. No dining table the tv in the aecond room was not hooked upto any working signal and the fridge was full size and unused. The pool and hot tub weren't filled or working but that was never mentioned. They shouldn't be part of the listing.
