La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Amarillo Mid-City

In great condition. Parking lot is very well lit and breakfast was good.

Room was nicely done and clean however no USB ports and my devices needed charge, this is 2024! My main issue was I booked this hotel because it has a pool and I wanted to relax after a 6 hour drive. The pool was closed. False advertising.

Room and staff were excellent. Construction on property was very difficult to maneuver.

The bed was comfortable; the room was clean; however, it was really showing it's age and condition was "beat up". Really bright lights in the parking lot, which hinted of "crime area" to me. We could not darken the room due to the one shade at the window. There was breakfast, but we chose to eat an omelet at Denny's next door instead. No gym; it was under construction. No laundry.

The pool is nice to refresh after a long drive and the breakfast is actually really great! Texas shaped waffles for the win!!!

Front desk staff was kind and courteous. Breakfast was ok. Area to eat breakfast was way too small. Pool was closed - had to go to a hotel next door to swim. Large spider in room. Old candy wrappers under bed. Not clean. Traveling with toddlers so cleanliness is very important.

Great motel for the price. The fitness room was down which was disappointing. Room and staff made up for that. Breakfast was good as well. I’d stay here again

The room was dirty, smelly, and had visible mold and mildew in the shower. The stairs are scary for little children to climb and the whole top floor is slanted toward the road. The parking is uphill if you park close by the rooms. And it's constantly road noise all night. The beds are lumpy and you get 3 tiny pillows per bed. Breakfast gets filled up so quickly that it's hard to navigate or even get any food other than cereal, unless you are willing to sardine yourself in line and crowd others to wait. Not worth the time or money.

The room was very clean and I was happy to have an in-room coffee maker. I could have done without the roaches.

Shower had a couple areas of Thick black mold, there was a Pinkish mold around entire inside & outside of the shower, there was that pinkish colored mold up the side of the glass door, urine down the front of the toilet I always bring a black light & mens uring lights up, The floor was dirty, found a dead roach under the chair & broken crackers, the bathroom door was worn looked old. Employees were very nice & the MGR. got our shower bleached & toilet cleaned right away. Bed was comfortable. They say they remodeled but all they did was slap on a coat of paint you can tell its very noticeable.

The hotel staff was very nice and welcoming. The breakfast area was small but clean, however the choices were slim. The room had clean and new looking towels and linens. The furniture looked decently new. But the room itself was super gross. The walls, the shower, the doors, they were all filthy. Like years old dirty, the shower had corners and edges filled with grime or mold, the walls were stained. The mini fridge had old food and the wall next to it was stained, every corner and edge was dirty. The parking lot was also dirty with trash and gross, oiled dirt. It was a little cheaper than other hotels but not worth the price! Not sure when La Quinta became such a rough hotel!

Room was filthy with greasy handprints on the door jambs and black flecks in the tub, toilet bowl not cleaned— room stank of cheap disinfectant but only the floor looked clean — no sleep due to roar of traffic all night.

This was the dirtiest hotel room Ive ever HAD to stay in. After repeated trips to the front desk and a very poor job by a staffer..it was terrible. Food, dirt, sand and grime stick to the floor. Urine and blood on the walls and doors of the bathroom. A dirty soap scum stained tub with hair on the shower walls..and flies everywhere.

The rooms were dirty, there was cockroaches and spiders and the beds were uncomfortable. The staff was nice but because of the conditions the rooms were in I would not recommend staying there.

Staff was friendly. Room did not appear to have been cleaned before our visit. Pretty sure I had a urine soaked roll of toilet paper.

The room we get has bedbugs we have to call to the office to report the room has bedbugs they give us an other room but we was uncomfortable to sleep my wife was attacked by the bedbugs not good the room was dirty

Recently updated, I really like the solid flooring rather than carpet, feels so much cleaner and doesn't hold smells. Lots of road noise, but this is a great place to stop for the night if passing through.

Could not connect to wifi

Everything was good except next to no water pressure in the shower. Practically a trickle.

Right off the highway so very loud. Room had been remodeled but the attention to detail was terrible. Paint drips everywhere, sagging painted surfaces, beat up door. Overall, a pig in lipstick. It seemed to be clean, however.

The room was fine. The problem was that our room was the end room next to a very busy road, and a trash truck woke us up at 5:00 a.m. with loud noises. There wasn't a lot of sleeping done that night.

The first night, the room itself was fine. The water pressure in the shower was not good and the water wasn't that hot overall not bad.

We admittedly did not pay attention when booking this room, so when we arrived and saw that this building has outside entry rooms we were surprised and disappointed. However, we decided to give it a chance. The hospitality from the front desk was top notch. Our room was spacious and comfortable overall with a king bed with comfortable bedding. It had a desk with a rolling desk chair and two other lounge chairs. The flooring seemed to be very newly installed. The room had a television, refrigerator and microwave. The shower/toilet area did have a door, but the sink area was open; with the brightly -lit mirror, a door would have been nice to keep the bright light from shining into the room. The shower was spacious and very clean; however the caulk at the bottom looked as if it were haphazardly done. The room was clean and the AC worked well throughout our stay. We enjoyed the free breakfast provided and again were greeted warmly by the front desk staff. The breakfast area was neat, clean and well-stocked. I can understand why this hotel (motel really) has a rating of three stars, but we are not bougie people. We simply wanted a clean, comfortable room for two nights, and that's what we got.

First, the good part. The bed was comfortable. Now, the not so good. Didn’t realize the hotel was mostly exterior entry. We got a king suite, and it was sorta inside. But there was no elevator. We had a lot of stuff to bring in that we didn’t want to leave in our car and had to lug it all upstairs. Also, wife doesn’t do well with stairs. Room was large, but very sparsely furnished. Not very comforting or inviting. Our son slept in the front room. He said the sofa bed was very uncomfortable. There were glass doors between the front room and the bedroom with no curtains, so no privacy. The blinds in both room were practically see-thru. They did not block light AT ALL. We could see the street lights and neon lights from the neighboring businesses. I suspect that with the inside lights on, people from outside can probably see in. The hotel is not in the greatest area. As far as cleanliness, I’d give it a 5/10. Breakfast was ok: standard waffles, yogurt and cereal.

Great staff

Everything was great until I went to check out. The lady working the reception at 6:00 A.M. was rude and aggressive. Since my home address is also in Amarillo, they required a $100 deposit which I had no problem paying. The night receptionist asked for my visa and charged the $100. Again totally fine. So at checkout I asked the morning receptionist about my deposit return and she just glared at me and told me that the night receptionist did it wrong and never should have ran visa and instead should have only accepted cash. Then she just glared at me again so I so said that I have no clue how operations are ran there and how was I supposed to know. Again I asked about my return deposit and said she didn't know and it probably will be returned after this night's audit. I am upset now at this point and she printed a paper out that just showed I payed the deposit and pointed me towards the door with her eyes. I just said ok thank you ma'am and I will be back in the morning if I do not have my $100 back. It is now 2:27 p.m. and still no return. I've stayed here many times and enjoy it but it took just 1 employee to ruin it for me and I will never return after I go back up there in the morning (7/26/24) and get the deposit situation taken care of. Absolute fail.

Friendly staff

I arrived at the property at about 3:30 AM, having driven there from Winslow, Arizona and having to sit three hours in traffic for a wreck involving a spill on I-40. So we were tired and knew I would only be staying to sleep about three hours until we had to travel home another 12 hours to Mississippi. We were given a room upstairs. We entered the room, it reeked of cigarette smoke. So we went back down stairs to tell the front desk clerk, who had seemed genuinely nice upon check in. She gave us another room close to where we parked so we would not have to move the car. We were happy about that. At 4:27 my head hit the pillow and we slept well until 7:00. I tried to call the front desk to tell them I was leaving the key in the room. I got no answer. I remembered the clerk had said breakfast would be served at 7. So we went to the front desk and the breakfast area. I put the key I. The drop box. My sister asked where the ice machine was. She was told it was upstairs. She misunderstood and thought it was on the floor we had just left on the outside if the building. Hit it was inside. She went to get ice. The front desk clerk and a maid spine to each other in Spanish. My sister can speak Spanish. I had went to the car. The desk clerk said”those are the two b$&@?es that I’ve been having to put up with since 4AM this morning. The maid responded with some quip and a laugh. My sister went off on your desk clerk. You should just watch the video. Your clerk needs to be fired.

The staff were AMAZING! Sarah, who checked us in and Lisa, who checked us out. The room so accessible and accommodating for the wheelchair. LOVE this hotel!

Great customer service definitely enjoying stay here when I come to Amarillo.

Its a convenient hotel off the freeway but that also means you hear all the freeway traffic. You'll also hear everyone ordering from Taco Bell. There's 4 restaurants within walking distance (Dennys, Wendys, Taco Bell and Arbys). The water pressure in the shower is very low but the water pressure in the sink is very high. The TV stopped workinf after the first night butbit was windy so I'll give them an excuse the wind messed with the cable. The room was clean but just needed a really good scrub woth some elbow grease but you get what you pay for.

The room itself was just a room. I almost gave it three stars because there is a Taco Bell in the parking lot and you can hear the drive thru speaker from inside the room (the windows are thin); however, breakfast the next morning made me decide to give it four stars. The breakfast was really good (sausage, eggs, bagels, cereal, waffles, yogurt, and more) and the lady in charge of cleaning and keeping it up was really sweet. I would probably stay here again if I could get a room on the other side of the hotel from the Taco Bell.

We did not even check in. We drove up to the lobby entrance. Saw homeless people in the dumpster right next to hotel. Also saw sketchy lookin people hanging in front of their hotel rooms. There was no way I was staying at this motel. Also in a more rundown looking area. Keep driving people and dont be lured by the cheap price

La Quinta is quickly becoming our go-to hotel when traveling. Their pet fees are very low, beds are comfortable, and their hot breakfast is good. My one complaint about this one was that the parking lot was covered in broken glass, which wasn’t great for walking around with the dog. Otherwise a good stay

Great stay right by I 40!

Easy to get to. Not too bad given the cost and area. Great for easy overnight off highway. It is loud as it’s right next to highway.

Nice property for a motel. Room was good. No mold that we seen, smelled nice and clean. Breakfast was great, better than expected.

I am handicapped. The accessible bathroom was the best I have ever seen. Breakfast was a little crazy. The area is too tight and crowded the easily prepare and serve vreakfast. What was provided was good. I really got a chuckle with the Texas shaped waffles. I would definately choose this La Quinta again.

It was a nice place for a single night. The front desk person was very accommodating and allowing me to have a late check-out. If I had any takeaways, it would be the breakfast. I was expecting more of a selection. But for the price is was nice.

Great place to get some sleep and was an amazing breakfast.

Tina at the front desk was amazing - friendly and helpful. The breakfast lady was super - was right on top of things and blessed us as we left. The breakfast was good - waffles, egg rounds, sausage rounds, yogurt, bread, hot and cold cereals. Bed were comfortable. This is a very large motel with access to each room from the outside. As a consequence, our room was a long way from the front desk and breakfast, so we had to pack up first and then drive around to the front to have breakfast. Would stay here again.
