Holiday Inn Express Richmond-Brandermill-Hull Street by IHG

I entered the hotel parking lot and parked at the very top because there wasn’t any other available space to do so. When I checked in, I was greeted but clearly was looking around for something. There were no carts to assist me with any of my luggage in the access to the front door was blocked off by a median, which made my rolling duffel bags nearly impossible to get down the stairs into the entryway of the hotel.. I chose this property because I have a disabled child who needs extra attention and accommodations. The property does not state that the Sister property is the facility that holds the pool. It just says access to nearby indoor pool. This was an essential need for my family. And I even stated in my accommodation request that I be near an elevator that I have access to the pool for easy transportation to and from due to my disabled child, and that there would be noise, restrictions that I requested to be available for us. When I had arrived, one of my very first questions was is the pool working properly. And the gentleman told me yes I after that stated OK good because that would be a big fiasco for my son. There was another front desk associate right there who did not say anything so I just assumed that everything was clear and in the go.We were not able to use the pool that evening and I did not try to go hunt for it because I was there visiting family and we were trick-or-treating with my two children. Great location that just happened to be under renovation during my stay. Very friendly staff and c the newly updated rooms are beautiful. Parking is extremely limited due to the construction trailers taking up slot off spaces. Overall, it was s great stay. I would stay here again!

It was being renovated. Parking was very limited. A sign saying to park anywhere would’ve been helpful.

Property under renovation construction and is active throughout the day. Elevator, hallway, and ice machine area had debris and workers during daylight hours. The hotel was good otherwise and this didn’t effect our stay but didn’t know when I made our reservation only when we checked in.

I booked this stay through a third party site. This hotel is going through MAJOR renovations and that is not disclosed on the site or in the pricing. To pay full price for that type of renovation, expecting to have access to things you in fact do not, loud construction all day (early morning until evening hours), and the rooms are very much out dated and dirty and stained.

Hotel was clean the staff member I had interacted with was excellent only problem was that none of the four soda machine were working or had product.

Building is a little outdated room was not that clean . Dust behind the wall stains on the walls . Refrigerator was dirty as well including bath tub. House keeping took out trash but didn’t refill the tissue or bring more towels , or even make the bed. Elevator broke so I had to come down two flights with all my luggage , very upset with that . Elevator was slow.

Room was clean. Did not eat breakfast. Parking was good and safe.

Hotel is in disarray. Many door knobs were broken off on closets and maintenance rooms. The closest working ice machine to the breakfast area was on the 3rd floor. Hotel employees didn’t seem to care.

This hotel is dingy and dirty. Housekeeping, in particular, was poor. Our bathroom floor was filthy, as were most of the common areas. Bath area was dirty. Water pressure was low. Walls Olin bathroom were rusty. No one was at the front desk when we tried to check out.

The room was very humid and smelled strongly of mildew. Had to run the ac nonstop to reduce humidity

Cleanliness was our biggest problem, we found fake nails on the carpet and hair all over the bathroom walls and tub. Housekeeping needs some help.

The property elevators were filthy. The room repair condition was not rentable! Wall paper peeling paint chipped and stained. Furniture was beat up! Room and hall smelled horrible with mold and musty!

It was in a nice area. The smell in the room was musty and stale. The bed was uncomfortable. I felt really dirty when I left. The hotel is old, moldy, and musty. Not a great night.

The staff was nice. The room was clean but outdated. The tub had a big rust spot right where you stand in the shower. Both lamps had rust on the metal base. They really need to do some updates.

This hotel is under renovation and should not be open until the work has been completed. Heating and cooling were not functional for the first two days of my three day visit. There was a lot of construction noise during the weekdays. And the doors on the rooms didn’t keep much hallway noise out of the room. The remote controls of the TV were not functional and had to be replaced twice. Good location although not easy to find.

Walls are too thin. Can hear everything in the hallway and in parking lots.

The staff was VERY nice and helpful. The upgraded light switches with the automatic nightlights weren’t ideal. Very this window glass and you can hear every car that drives by.

I booked a king size room got here got a double the young lady at desk had to go see if room was available get in room can't watch TV 3rd shift reception like what you want me to do about it this is unacceptable I paid my money for no TV access

Great staff and easy check in. Good location. Room needed some repairs but it was the location and price that met expectation.

The beds were extremely soft. I recommend replacing.

There were teenagers staying from a soccer team. They were running up and down the hallway screaming at midnight. We called the front desk and no one came up to stop it. The next morning, there was no breakfast!! Coffee only was available.

Room was clean and beds extremely comfortable. Liked that there was body wash and shampoo/conditioner provided in shower. Check in was terrible. Staff was rude and clearly just wanting to get off their shift. Overall, would recommend.

The staff went above and beyond to assist my family with a mistake I made in my reservation. They were friendly, helpful and efficient - truly appreciated the assistance they provided during our stay! The manager spoke personally to me and knew me by name - personalized and helpful assistance!!

They NEVER cleaned the room. One day they just emptied the trash cans. Once day they just made the beds. One day they took used towels and made beds. They NEVER ever cleaned the bathroom floor or toilet which were dirty when I arrived. The elevator broke the day I check out. I was never notified. When I called down for assistance with my bags they never answered the phone.

Not a good guest experience. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING AT THIS HOTEL. The hotel has a pleasing appearance; however, the management staff is highly unprofessional. The MOD during my stay was rude and abrasive. Prior to my arrival, the Mgr. On Duty phoned me to ask my arrival ETA, but actually HUNG UP as I was replying to her and attempting to get addl. info. My room\'s "blackout drapes," which were denoted as amenities online, WOULD NOT CLOSE (*I have photos & video), and the light negatively impacted my ability to get to/stay asleep. At checkout, I was told the hotel\'s GM would "be at work on Monday," so I left my contact info. w/the same MOD & desk staff, w/a request that the hotel\'s GM contact me ASAP. After 3 days (a TUES.), I had not been contacted by the GM, so I emailed her my concerns/complaint about my room, guest experience & the unprofessional MOD; I received an automated email reply in which the GM noted, "I am on vacation and will be out of the ofc through Monday" (actually the day before?!). 2 days later, I contacted IHG Hotel\'s Corporate HQ to formalize my complaint and request the name/contact info. of the hotel GM\'s immediate supervisor (not given). I was redirected to the original GM, who sent me a 2nd email: "...Please allow me the opportunity to review your reservation and stay, and then get back to you in detail." One week (7 days) later, I STILL have yet to have that GM "get back to me," or provide me w/any of the info. that I requested.

They gave my room away. Admitted they purposefully overbooked the hotel. Was told I’d get 10,000 points as a “we are sorry”. I didn’t get the room or the points.

We like to stay here when we come to Midlothian to visit our children. Very convienent , plenty of dining options and shopping.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing I didn't like about the property is that it is a little hard to find in the dark, since they don't have direct access to the highway.

We were there for a soccer tournament and checked in late Friday and left Sunday. Breakfast was decent nothing fancy. Service was good. Location was great and convenient to fields.

Clean and comfortable rooms! Tasty breakfast with a nice variety. Renovations were in progress but they were quick and didn’t interfere with the guest. Will stay again!

With many teenage Soccer players staying the nights there was quite a bit of noise up until I called the Front desk to have it taken care of. Others who stayed commented they were upset as well. Breakfast cook No show No call Saturday morning as well.
