I almost want to give 5 stars but I’m in limbo. I’ll explain why: When we arrived, my daughter’s first question was: “Is the pool open?” The desk clerk replied, “Unfortunately, no.” It was around 9 pm, so I just assumed that the late hour was the reason. —Then we were given our keys and headed to the room. The “hotel” is actually a “motel”. The doors all open— and windows all face— toward the parking lot. We also saw signs that said the pool was “under construction “. My kid is like a fish. She was dying to swim on this trip, so I started looking around at other hotels in the area. Ultimately, here is what I realized… The breakfast at this Best Western has a lot of options for families. I’m vegan, so I didn’t have many— but my daughter did, and that was more important. Furthermore, the woman working the breakfast room is just phenomenally kind and attentive. I tipped her each day we stayed and added more on at the end because she was just so nice, caring, and welcoming. When I started looking at lodging in a similar area, some reviews mentioned mold, some mentioned rude staff… the Best Western’s staff were all kind and helpful, and our room was clean; no mold or mildew. Parking was never an issue, and we like to walk, so the beach and many other attractions were within a reasonable distance for us. I’m grateful we stayed. (The pool was finally done late on our last night there, and my daughter took a dip before we left in the morning.)

The only really negative aspect of this motel was that we were staying upstairs and it was hard on my wife and I going up an down staircases all day. We are older folks an they didn't have an elevator. Their breakfast were fantastic though an worth the trips down for🙂

There was not enough parking. The bed was hard could not fall asleep. Got in from my trip to take a shower there was no soap nor shampoo had to go to office to get what we needed. I will not be staying there again.

The location is perfect. Some drawbacks: the pool was not very clean. I would have had no problem skimming it myself but there was none and the desk clerk didn’t have access to one. The room was not very clean. Many aspects overlooked. The floors were very dirty, sandy and dirty. Some corners of the room floors had stains which implies lack of attention. The shower drain was clogged. The wad of hair and gunk we pulled out of it was almost the size of a baseball. Again lack of attention, the tub either had not been cleaned or just overlooked the clogged drain, the water could not run without backing up until we unclogged it. So it should have been noticed. The fridge, Tv, cable, breakfast, were all great. But overall it seemed dirty. Felt safe, multiple families around, the high praise from family reviews made me chose this place, hadn’t stayed here in over 10 years probably. The mini suite room was good size and had a futon to serve as a couch which was nice. A little more attention or slightly higher standards of cleanness would go a long way here.

Love the location! Close to restaurants, shopping, and of course the beach. I guess my only complaint is that the pool could have been a little cleaner. Other than that, I totally recommend staying here.

The staff where extremely nice. Breakfast was incredible. Was cooked well, always hot . The 3 days we had breakfast were at different times even close to be closed and still had the same food as if we came in when it first opened up at 6:30. The breakfast attendant was probably the best we have ever seen. She was very helpful, tables cleaned immediately.. even when someone used toaster crumbs picked up and wiped down. The waffle area very neat . She would come around and ask us if we needed anything. Fill our coffee if she noticed it low. The atmosphere in entire front desk to dinning area to a small library had a very inviting scent. Over all for a Best Western one of the best we have stayed in. Swimming pool was set at 90 degrees so it felt amazing when it was cold and drizzling during the days and nights.. It was very nice to be treated like a person when it came down to being a smoker and not feel like trash because of it. To have a area to sit down and smoke with plenty of ash trays, hanging ,butts bins or stand up bins for cigarette butts in a very well lighted , covered like a small picnic area even though at the end of parking lot with nice plants on a smoke free property. Was nice and as a female not feeling safe having to walking out off the property at night and not being afraid. All properties should understand how not being afraid because you smoke and not treated second class especially when dogs are treated better. With an area so should smokers.

We had a second floor room and there was no elevator. No where in the information I saw about the property did it indicate there was no elevator. Since my husband and I are senior citizens, it was a challenge to get the luggage up the stairs.

Our room needed a good cleaning. Whoever swept did not make it all the way to the walls. The shower curtain was not clean. Maintenance in a coastal location is hard but this BW needs to do better. Mildew lamp shades. The breakfast area was in very poor condition.

This was our 2nd time staying at BW in Port A. The first time being in July of 2020 and at that time we were not happy with the cleanliness at all and vowed never to return. We gave it another chance this year (April 2024) and it was A LOT cleaner than it was in July of 2020 however not as clean as one would expect for one of the better rated hotels on the island. We arrived on a Monday and the pool was clean and warm. The days following were not as clean as chunks of hair, bugs, feathers, and other debris were in the pool. It seemed to have gotten worse as the week progressed to Friday. We did see someone finally cleaning it on Friday though. Maybe its only cleaned for the weekend?? The breakfast was good, hot, and plentiful. It never changed though. It was the same exact foods served every single day. The lady who attends the breakfast area was great and very helpful! The room was okay. Not that dirty but also not that clean. The shower had hair from a previous stay. We were always given extra toiletries and towels when asked so that was a plus. The property was not dirty but the trashes by the stairs were overflowing by the evening and changed in the morning. The hotel was quiet as it was April which is usually pretty off season on weekdays. We would stay again for the morning breakfast, heated pool, and proximity to everything.

The location of the property was convenient to the beach, dining, stores, and the main strip of the town. We had no problems getting parking and even though it was close to everything, it still managed to be quiet. The breakfast was okay for the value. One morning was better than the next, but it was sufficient to fuel us for the day. The cleanliness of the room was fair. The shower still had hair in it and the floor sand (but can understand this for the beach). What really turned me off was the stained towels and sheets the first night, but particularly the towels. I'd recommend they do a quality check before reusing for future guests.

Staff were friendly and the breakfast buffet provided was good. Housekeeping was very poor. Our room was only attended to once during our 5 night stay. The towels were changed once and I had to ask for a bathroom mat. The garbage was not removed from the room for 3 days. The accumulated garbage from the outdoor trash cans were left outside the rooms overnight. On the night before we checked out we had to kill a couple of roaches we found crawling in the rom. The management needs to address this housekeeping issue to maintain a clean and healthy environment.

This place has high reviews and we were really excited to stay here. However, we arrived at night and as soon as we turned the lights on we found tiny roaches scurrying to hide. We immediately left and gave the key back. The front staff was kind enough to give us a refund and didn’t give any pushback. Which is why I don’t want to give a flat out one star. But just be warned to double check your luggage on any critters that might be going back home with you.

When we checked into our room there was a big crawling on top of one of the beds and up on inspection around beds it was apparent the floors hadn't been swept as there was heavy dust and hair around and behind beds. We brought both issues to the front desk manager and they sent housekeeping to the room to sweep. Breakfast had a decent selection and the lady who was managing was very polite so we left her a tip along with housekeeping. Regardless of the incident in our room I realize housekeeping isn't an easy job and very much underappreciated. We liked how close the location of the hotel was to the beach but considering there wasn't a significant enough difference in rooms we'll probably stay at the Island hotel where we usually stay next time around.

We stayed on 3/01-03/24 and were in the suite with the separate bedroom. There was a ton of space and it was so close to the breakfast area and parking. I would definitely stay here again.

The room was great and perfect for what I wanted. I got one with a kitchenette and it was very nice! The complementary breakfast was delicious! The staff were all friendly and professional. It was an all around pleasant experience.

First off this property is a MOTEL, not a hotel as listed. It is quite obviously an older property that has been renovated with mixed results. For instance the doors are poorly hung and don’t close properly. It is easy to feel drafts and even see light around the door! The couch is perhaps the cheapest, most uncomfortable, hideaway bed in existence, the big stain on it didn’t help with the ambiance. Overall I give this property a hard pass especially considering there is a very nice Holiday Inn Express down the street.

My wife and I stayed the weekend in the King bed suite with the kitchenette. We were impressed with how roomy it was. It would be a great studio apartment! Free breakfast and coffee in the lobby. The facility and room was clean. Would stay here again!

The room was great. Outside entrance to a well stocked kitchen and sitting area with the bed toward the back, away from the door and outside noise. The room was really a great small apartment. Loved it! I have to knock off some points for the breakfast, though. Juices were in small boxes (no machine dispenser); yogurt options were limited; fridge items were close to the ground and hard to reach. Hot items were serviceable but nothing great - eggs were instant, no boiled eggs available, bacon was in short supply. Despite that, I would stay there again.

The property was clean and comfortable. Could use some updating in the room we stayed in, but not that big of an issue. The 24-hour available coffee and breakfast were perfect as we expect from Best Western. I love the sitting area in the library - excellent chairs and a comfortable space for me to do computer work. We would stay here again. Kristen was excellent upon checking in. The gentleman who worked overnight was also very friendly - greeted me with a good morning when I walked in at 4:30 a.m.

The staff where extremely nice. Breakfast was incredible. Was cooked well, always hot . The 3 days we had breakfast were at different times even close to be closed and still had the same food as if we came in when it first opened up at 6:30. The breakfast attendant was probably the best we have ever seen. She was very helpful, tables cleaned immediately.. even when someone used toaster crumbs picked up and wiped down. The waffle area very neat . She would come around and ask us if we needed anything. Fill our coffee if she noticed it low. The atmosphere in entire front desk to dinning area to a small library had a very inviting scent. Over all for a Best Western one of the best we have stayed in. Swimming pool was set at 90 degrees so it felt amazing when it was cold and drizzling during the days and nights.. It was very nice to be treated like a person when it came down to being a smoker and not feel like trash because of it. To have a area to sit down and smoke with plenty of ash trays, hanging ,butts bins or stand up bins for cigarette butts in a very well lighted , covered like a small picnic area even though at the end of parking lot with nice plants on a smoke free property. Was nice and as a female not feeling safe having to walking out off the property at night and not being afraid. All properties should understand how not being afraid because you smoke and not treated second class especially when dogs are treated better. With an area so should smokers.

We stayed here for three nights. BW exceeded our expectations. The suite was very clean, the staff were friendly, and the service was prompt. The nightly rate was very affordable, and the location was perfect, just a short drive from the beach. Great value for money!

We had a great stay here for our beach vacation. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great: hot and fresh and there was plenty of staff bustling around helping guests and refilling food and cleaning tables/sweeping. Room service attendant was so sweet as well. Our room was very clean, of course there is some sand in places like the ottoman but this is a beach motel so unavoidable in my opinion. We parked right outside our room, it was very convenient. The atmosphere was lively at night but nothing disruptive. Just a fun atmosphere during Spring Break. We all felt very safe here and would stay again.

We stayed 3 nights. The last morning, they did not serve breakfast. They said it had something to do with one of the employees. We were very disappointed. The breakfast is one of the big reasons we stay here. Everything else was good.

C'est sûr qu'en bord de mer, c'est plus compliqué, mais un petit peu déçue par rapport aux Best Western que j'ai connus. A revenir, je prendrais un autre établissement.

HEADS UP: the Pull-out couches do not exist any longer. We planned on putting our twins onto it and then found out night one that the couches have been phased out. They've informed all the 3rd party sites, but so far none have changed their registration listing to match reality. So if you have kids and plan for that couch, just know it is NOT a pull-out. The staff was amazingly helpful, and all were so kind. The stay in general was really a good one, minus the couch situation. We have young boys so we were able to make it work. Breakfast was so-so, but better than most I think. For a beach hotel, it was a good stay. Location was great, and the neighborhood seemed really nice. Walking distance to food, bars and even morning coffee (in multiple directions). I wouldn't stay again because we do need a king and an extra bed. That's the only reason I wouldn't stay again. Last minute booking, it was ok for one night. My in-laws room had issues with the AC and overall the rooms at the property are outdated. Breakfast was nice, pool was clean and enjoyable.
