We have been to this hotel many times over the last decade and consider it our go too hotel in San Antonio. We love its location on the River Walk, its Spanish ambiance its excellent restaurant and bar overlooking the River Walk and the room suites which are so nice. This is a great romantic hotel for couples.

Noisy Noisy Noisy. I don't usually give reviews, but I think people need to know this. We were in a king corner on the 3rd floor RIVER SIDE, but 3/4 of the suite was on the city side. There is a city bus stop and a major street intersection on the city side of the hotel - very noisy. They we're nice enough to move us to an executive king city side but unfortunately that was just as noisy with street noise and also had loud elevator noises when elevators went up and down. It was extremely hard to get any rest or sleep. They did comp, the valet, which helped with the pricing. Otherwise, I probably would have given a one star rating. Unfortunately, we will not be staying here again. The bar is nice downstairs. The room was clean.

Called about no hot water , seam to not care ..maintenance told me room is that section took awhile to start working .. Should have told me took like 30 mins for hot water . After it started all was good. Next day toilet broke , handle so had to flush manually. That sucks not good experience for the price would not stay there again …

Upon arriving I had to go in to Hotels front desk to ask if my reservation included parking. The gentleman at the counter was rude and disrespectful towards me as couple of gentlemen stood in line behind me. He did not want to look at my reservation and stated this is your problem as it looks like you purchased with a third party. He began to state I don’t use 3rd party so I cannot help you. I was shocked and mortified someone in hospitality would talk to someone like that. So I asked for a manager he said it’s your lucky day I am the Manager so I asked his name he stated Alex. I began to tear up asking where we could park he said across the street I asked how much he said I have no idea. Just drive over or walk. I immediately responded to him you should be ashamed of yourself speaking to a woman much less a customer like that. I walked off crying. Your Valet was beyond helpful and apologetic. He recommended I speak with his manager who in turn told me Alex has had many complaints regarding this type of communication. I cannot believe Contessa would put up with this type of behaviour I had booked this reservation because of how amazing your hotel was in 2012 when I frequently stayed there. This is NOT the same. I booked this because my boyfriend and I are getting married and I wanted to spoil him. On top of this incident our toilet didn’t work properly and the tv in living room wasn’t set up correctly. Maintenance had come to fix.
