We had a wheelchair bound person. Your small entrance door did not have an automatic button. Getting up to the door was really hard. It was steep and the crack at the curb level was too deep requiring backing over the crack and pulling up the steep incline to a door that opens outward. This made our coming and going really difficult. The continental breakfast was really small. No english muffins eggs or breakfast meat. The only fruit was apples. No bananas? No one at the desk regularly. Vending machines empty in the lobby. I feel like a hotel practically at the entrance of skyline drive should be more enticing.

My room was fine, clean but had some issues. One of the bedside lamps did not work. The refrigerator was loud. The a/c unit was even louder with a very bad vibrating racket. I had to turn off the unit to sleep. The elevator was a bit dirty with grafitti on the inside door and cracked tiles on the floor. The breakfast was toast, cereal, or pancakes. No juice, no bagels or muffins, no yogurt, no eggs, no bacon or sausage. Not good at all. It was basically starch on a paper plate.

I had to turn off the unit to sleep. The elevator was a bit dirty with grafitti on the inside door and cracked tiles on the floor. The breakfast was toast, cereal, or pancakes. No juice, no bagels or muffins, no yogurt, no eggs, no bacon or sausage. Not good at all. It was basically starch on a paper plate.

The hotel common areas are showing their age with flooring paint and wallpaper being damaged. The room was fine, pillows flat and uncomfortable. It’s a little odd that the door locks flash red when the key card is used but the lock does unlock. I saw a couple of guests experiencing the same confusion. There were a couple of sketchy characters at the front and in the parking lot when we arrived. One fellow was dancing a unique dance outside the front door which was a little concerning. Another young lady was sitting in her car with it running for the better part of the two nights we were there; not threatening but looking suspicious. Price was reasonable, room clean but not restocked after our first night. Parking lot lighting and proximity are good. Check in was easy online. The hotel is closest to our destination but we will probably drive a little farther and pay a little more in our next trip.

The property was showing its age. Our room was missing a fire detector. Notable areas of wear of an aging building. Staff was very helpful. Continental breakfast was non existent it seemed like there was going to be stuff but there was nothing, and the juice machine had an out of order sign on it. I know it was a lower end hotel type but it was a little underwhelming even for an 8.

Clerks were nice. The room was clean, the heating unit was quiet. The breakfast was two types of ceral, some apples and fresh auto-made pancakes which were actually pretty good. The breakfast Orange / Apple juice machine was not working. The soda vending machine was out of service and the snack vending machine was barely stocked.

What we did not like: breakfast was so-so, even for a breakfast-to-go; beds were old & not comfortable; and the room was not clean. On the plus, it was very convenient to the Skyline Drive.

The room was very dirty. Not vacuumed and hair stuck to bathroom shower walls and floor. The bathroom door was not attached correctly, hinge appeared broken. The bath tub was not secured to old bath tub bottom and made terrible noises when stepped on.

The good...close to the river and state parks, restaurants very close and a few stores nearby as well. The bad...room had roaches, second room we got after discovering roaches had a used syringe behind the nightstand. Fridge had crumbs in it, wasn't clean. Rooms were dirty, floors looked like they haven't been vacuumed in awhile. Very poor cleaning staff apparently. Hotel is outdated. There is a smell throughout the hotel, it smells really bad. Seems like ownership just doesn't care about the conditions in the hotel. The staff is helpful and pleasant but the rest of the hotel is definitely not.

Please do not book this it is very dirty and they have bed bugs I booked it for 2 days and I checked out in 12hours staff is unresponsive and even management is very bad. They do not care if you are comfortable or not very bad place to stay. Please do not book this worst experience.

I got to my first room and the tv was fuzzy and the phone didn't work so I switched to another room . I then had a cockroach on the BR wall I killed and showed them so I went to another room but door wouldn't open with a key went to another room. Hall floor and carpet on stairs needed vacuuming I was comped one night.

This place needs an upgrade … I felt very uncomfortable here that I booked a room somewhere else … sheets were dirty , floor was dirty , hair in the tub , the furniture ripped and it smelled like a pet was in that room before I got there

I saw two roaches during my stay. Still, it is a reasonably decent place for the price. I suggest you pack your belongings in sealed plastic bags and unpack the rest in the driveway when you get home.

This is late I know bit our very first night after a long ride driving from Florida to Front Royal was terrible on that Motel 8.Bed bugs all over me Notes arms and thighs and torso. We were promised compensation free charge that first night but did not happen We could not sleep all night on our first night. A bed bug is the worst nightmare one can experience on a vacation.

Pro: It was great that they could accommodate our dog. Con: The constant slamming of the room doors toward the evening and throughout the night that was a bit of an irritant. We've stayed at this same hotel before and never remember that much noise from the doors.

Excellent for the price Room was newly remodeled. Mattress was very comfortable. Free TV on demand. And a good surprise : breakfast was better than expected with pancakes. Only drawback is very limited seating for the breakfast (3 small tables)

Courteous staff at foyer and breakfast. The "things that go bump in the night" continued until about midnight, then the halls quieted down quite a bit. The king-sized bed was clean but a soft mattress. Wifi and T.V. service was good.wa

The hotel room was quite clean, except the window could use a good wash. The elevator and halls could also use a good cleaning. Our bed in room 220 needs a foam cover as the mattress is a bit too hard. All in all for the price and for a one night stay was fine.

Let me start off by saying I have never wtote a hotel review. The first night that we arrived it was very late. I was traveling with my husband and child in one room and older son and friend in another room. When we arrived we went to our room. The first issue was the TV did not work. Figured its late were going to sleep soon we will address that in the morning. The first time we flushed the toilet it clogged. My husband went down stairs to tell them and also advise about the TV. They sent him backnwith a plunger and told him to unplug the TV and plug it back in. We had already tried that and tried different outlets. It didnt work. The next morning I got up to get around. I went to use the hotel hair dryer and when I did that didnt work. I figured out Ill unplug it and use mine that I brought. When I went to unplug it a COCKROACH crawled out of the outlet! The outlet and was cover in roach droppings. I took a video and went down to the front desk. I asked for the manager. Was told he wouldnt be available till after 1:00pm. After 10 minutes of standing at the front desk asking for a refund, a manager, or even the number to cooperate the lady texted the manager. When he called me he told me he could only refund my money if I checked out. Fair enough I didnt want to continue staying at the hotel. When I went back to the desk to get a refund. This was a Friday morning I was told I couldnt get one till the following week.

There were a couple of sketchy characters at the front and in the parking lot when we arrived. One fellow was dancing a unique dance outside the front door which was a little concerning. Another young lady was sitting in her car with it running for the better part of the two nights we were there; not threatening but looking suspicious. Price was reasonable, room clean but not restocked after our first night. Parking lot lighting and proximity are good. Check in was easy online. The hotel is closest to our destination but we will probably drive a little farther and pay a little more in our next trip.
The hotel common areas are showing their age with flooring paint and wallpaper being damaged. The room was fine, pillows flat and uncomfortable. It’s a little odd that the door locks flash red when the key card is used but the lock does unlock. I saw a couple of guests experiencing the same confusion. I traveled with my daughter, who needed a good night's sleep. The room across from us had a VERY LOUD man speaking at the top of his voice until nearly midnight. I tried to call the front desk - my room phone was non functional. I tried on my cellphone 4 times, and no answer. I finally had to go knock on the door myself to confront the person. The next day I was told, the front desk may have been sleeping... and I could come down to tell them next time - ummmm, in my pajamas at midnight - no thank you. The next night also a VERY LOUD couple arguing.. I again had to call front desk on my cellphone. They answered this time and called the offenders.

This Super 8 was a disappointment. The building was kind of run down, and it's location is far from the interstate. The place looked like they dont have much business, yet they could not let me in my room when i arrived at 1 pm. Most hotels will be more flexible. Then, the final negative thing was being awoke at 8 am with a text message and an email asking me to check out, and when would I be leaving the room. That was totally rude. I almost never give a negative review, but sadly this time i need to do that.

This was the ideal spot for us! We were hiking in Shenandoah and had brought out dog. Our room was ideal as we were right near one of the entry doors which made it easy to get dog out for walks (at all hours, lol). Really close to nearby stores too.

The hotel was clean, with large rooms and friendly staff. It was a few minutes from the Park entrance to Skyline line drive. Also a 5 min drive or 15 minute walk to downtown.

The room needs serious attention, the bathtub felt like I was going to break through, it was creaking a lot, the overall cleanliness lacking, the breakfast option was very limited, two option of bread, two option of cereal or pancakes, no fruits, not even peanut butter… It’s cheap, but even then I didn’t feel like I was getting my money’s worth.

My room was fine, clean but had some issues. One of the bedside lamps did not work. The refrigerator was loud. The a/c unit was even louder with a very bad vibrating racket. I had to turn off the unit to sleep. The elevator was a bit dirty with grafitti on the inside door and cracked tiles on the floor. The breakfast was toast, cereal, or pancakes. No juice, no bagels or muffins, no yogurt, no eggs, no bacon or sausage. Not good at all. It was basically starch on a paper plate.

Check in went well, staff was super nice, friendly, helpful, room was clean, hotel could us some up grade, needs new windows, ours was concentrated, seal broke. Continental breakfast was not very good, just coffee, juice, bread, jelly, and stuff for cold cereal, little packages for oatmeal.

Clerks were nice. The room was clean, the heating unit was quiet. The breakfast was two types of ceral, some apples and fresh auto-made pancakes which were actually pretty good. The breakfast Orange / Apple juice machine was not working. The soda vending machine was out of service and the snack vending machine was barely stocked.

WiFi wasn’t smooth. Breakfast was minimal, except the pancake machine. Not being able to open windows made room ventilation difficult by running AC on lower settings.

This is a great place very good value for the money. It is not a luxury hotel, but very decent for its category. The staff is super friendly. Breakfast is basic but the pancakes are yummy. We had two rooms: one with a dog and that was huge for us. Highly recommend of you are traveling on a budget and looking for something good in that category.
