Hampton Inn Stony Creek/Petersburg Area

The pool was out of commission. Everything was very old and shabby. For the price point I expected way more

The hotel was under renovation. The Hotel.com site did not disclose this information. While at the hotel, I checked their direct website, which mentioned the renovation but did not mention that the hotel amenities, such as the pool and gym, would be closed. I would not have chosen this hotel had they been truthful.

It would’ve been nice to been informed that the property was under renovation. The shower leaked throughout the night and no matter what I did it kept leaking. The hallways had a funky smell like wet dog and wasn’t pleasant. We had kids that were looking forward to using the pool. The property said we could use the indoor pool next door, but that pool was totally disgusting with algae and smelled like a swamp. I wouldn’t even let the kids get in the pool because I was afraid they would’ve gotten sick from this.

The elevator was out of order. I think I should have been notified prior to my stay and given the option to stay somewhere else

There is renovation going on, so part of property is closed and are around is not ideal. Haven’t seen frogs living in the pool before.

Bathroom fixtures loose/shower head kept falling, pool was closed/abandoned with dark green murky water...Staff was kind and corteous.

I am shocked that this was a Hilton property! It was disgusting…. If I had any other option I wouldn’t have stayed, but the only other hotel had no availability. The property was under construction, the pool wasn’t open or clean, our only window covered by a tarp, mildew in the bathroom, and stains everywhere!!!!

Accessibility to the highway was excellent. The hotel is very tired and the pool is completely unusable. Renovations were indicated but nothing seemed to be done. Very disappointed for the price.

This stay had so many issues. But, I will start with the positives. This hotel is conveniently located next to the highway which is perfect for a quick stay over. There is a nice Italian restaurant and bar within walking distance. The hotel is newly renovated. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a room that was so new. The first problem with our stay is that no where was it posted in the app or stated by the person on the phone when we called before booking, that the elevator is broken and has been for 3 weeks. Nor were we told the pool was closed for the summer. We found out both when we arrived to check in. We were put on the third floor which was not ideal with 3 little kids, luggage and a cooler. The key card did not work and after having it reprogrammed twice we were given a new room on the second floor. One of the two beds did not have a fitted sheet, just the loose sheet on top of the mattress that had a mattress cover. When we went down to get sheets the front desk person was apologetic and walked us to the laundry room to get sheets. There were no bathroom towels. Instead of going back downstairs we were lucky enough to have my in-laws staying down the hall and asked them to have one of their two towels. The AC unit leaked our entire stay which drenched the floor. At the free breakfast the juice machine was broken. I felt so bad for the person working the front desk. I feel like these are temporary issues that can be turned around easily.

The staff are amazing and friendly, efficient and welcoming. The appearance while undergoing renovation was unpleasant with dirty sticky floors in the hallways and elevator on new floors and carpets and it stayed like that overnight. The bathroom was not fully clean (used washcloth hanging in the shower) and the floor was a little dusty with construction

The hotel personnel were great, including front desk and breakfast people. The hotel smelled horrible, dirty. The bedding smelled of odors from past guests. The carpet in the corridor smelled with a strong stench of urine. The hotel is being renovated but should be closed during said renovation.

Breakfast was cold, the toilet seat in my room was loose , shower curtain was dirty , walls were dented and scratched up , remote control did not work. and worse of all my room was not sound proof and I could hear trucks going by on I 95 all night. I could hve stayed at next door and saved $70.

Our first room had blood all over the bed, talked to front office and got a new room. The next room had hairs and crumbs in it. We were unable to sleep on the bed due to the cleanliness. We slept on the couch and there were lottery tickets and pills on the ground. The room smelled like cigarettes.

I traveled 13 hours - just wanted a hot shower and sleep. Having a dirty shower is not acceptable at all. Hair on the wall, someone else’s left over shower filth on the wall not acceptable. I was just too tired to complain or move rooms. I will never stay there again and would like to be compensated. I have pictures.

The whole place was run down. Not clean. Debris behind the bed. Electrical outlets not working. Toilet seat, broken so bad you could not even even sit on it. Water on the bathroom floor, which I presume is from the toilet. This is not representative of my experience with Hampton Inn. If it continues, I’ll stop using them. On the other hand, the Hampton Inn in Walterboro, South Carolina is outstanding.

Pillows were square and filled with feathers. I believe mattress topper was also. We are extremely allergic to feathers. Tv didn’t work. My husband asked the front desk and they were no help. My husband fussed with it for a while and got it to work. Room seemed dated and felt unclean. Christmas decorations in lobby area in April. Material on seats in lobby/breakfast area were all peeling off. This place needs some help. Room should have been $78. Not $178. Breakfast was fine.

The request that I be placed near the families was traveling with not granted. I was put on a different floor, however when the front desk found out they did their best to put me near the families. My complaints are that the room drapes were missing to pull across for privacy and there was a parking lot light that was right across from the window. It made it difficult to sleep. There was not a room temp control , however it was comfortable(I would have liked it a bit more colder). The room was clean and everyone was helpful and nice.

The television and remote did not allow us to change any channels. The air conditioner unit was making a loud noise which meant it had to be turned off in order to sleep. The front desk helped as much as they could, but after a long journey it was disappointing to not have the everything work properly. We will not be staying there on our return trip home.

No hot water Room 324

When making the reservation we booked the room we did because it had a pull out couch in the picture. We had to switch rooms since The property is under construction. So it was an older room listed on Expedia. The new updated rooms are beautiful but we had no hot water for a shower. There was still painters tape on the wall. Soap from the last person in the shower, so how well was it really cleaned? A stink bug in the bedroom. The construction workers started working at 7:30am on a Saturday morning waking us very early after a long day of travel the day before. This should’ve been told to us when we checked in. They took our information for us to be contacted but I doubt we will hear anything, very disappointing stay.

Trains run near the property with horns being very loud.

The TV only had one channel. No soap in bathroom or shower, and the orange juice at breakfast was sour fermented. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was great.

The lobby and room were clean. We realize you are doing rennovations. The heat exchange in the room has several broken pieces and the tub is stained or the finish has worn off on the bottom. The noise outside from the highway made sleeping at times difficult....

We were so happy to see the new remodeled Hampton Inn. We have been stopping here for many years Jacqueline at the front desk was exceptional. She made you feel like family

They said the computers were down and we couldn’t check in . We had to go somewhere else late in the day . Please refund us our money . You need better tech support then this. The poor guy at the desk said he was on hold and there was hundreds of people in front of them

Our remote in our room wouldn’t work.it seemed a little odd that the hotel staff said none of the TVs would change the channel. But in the morning it seemed purposeful and divisive. When my husband went down to get coffee, he was the only customer and attempted to change the lobby TV channel from Fox. He was scolded by the staff that the channel doesn’t get changed from Fox. As we left the hotel we saw the largest confederate flag right on I-95. It seemed we were in an area of intolerance and divisiveness; I did not feel safe. We got out of there as quickly as we could.

Very courteous check in. Hotel has been completely renovated and nicely done. Quick check out. And the breakfast was delicious.

I had a great experience here. Front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. I will continue to book at these hotels during my yearly travels.

Booked this through hotels.com as we had a long day of driving. Just for hotel to call and say they didn't have a room for us. Now waiting for 7-10 days for refund and key points to be returned.

I’ve stayed here 14 times in the last yr. This is the second time in a row they double charge me for a room. I will it stay here again.

They were under renovations so I can see the upgrades and potential in the hotel. The staff were amazing. It was very comfortable and a nice breakfast included. Good value.

They seemed to be doing some renovation. The room had the smell of new construction. Otherwise room was clean and comfortable. I made an error in my reservation. The young lady at the desk was very helpful and patiently worked with H.com to get it straightened out. She stayed a bit over her shift( I think) to make sure everything was correct.

We never actually stayed overnight the place was a dump and the elevator was broken. The person working the front desk was a combo of stupidity and rudeness.

Clean. Easy in and out to get back on the road.

It was convenient off the roadway.

the room/ bathroom were clean . the bed was fine. nice newer floors. the newer furniture is IKEA'ish . room 130 , has a cabinet for the fridge, but no fridge. this room was handi-access room . breakfast was 'ok' not as complete as other HAMPTON INNS . * the tv is new, large, too complicated for me- JDS. > right off I-95 easy off/ on.

This is a great place to stay right off 95. Several fast food options. The hotel is clean, staff is friendly and the breakfast is good. We stay here all the time on our way to or from Florida.

This is a wayside stop, right on I 95 south but only 21 minutes to I-85. Fast food, convenience store, dog park , 2 gas stations within complex. Free breakfast at the Hampton Inn. Wonderful customer service.

This hotel provided us with a safe place to grab a night's rest and breakfast while traveling up I-95. It provided us with a clean room, a safe place to sleep, and a complimentary breakfast. There are also restaurants within walking distance and easy on/off access to I-95.

Nice updated room. Breakfast was great—excellent cheese omelets as opposed to scrambled eggs. Only thing I would recommend is having 2 chairs in the room as opposed to just 1 desk chair.

Checking in was amazing although they’re remodeling the place looks great. Service was amazing but the coffee was cold. A couple different times, but besides that everything else was amazing.

For a Hampton Inn not worth the stay. Crappy bathroom, breakfast was late as the cook never showed. Waffle maker didn’t work properly,So for NO GOOD!

Currently under construction and no continental breakfast which is the main reason we booked this. At the time of booking, there was no mention of this.
