Beautiful hotel grounds. The guest lodge is beginning to show some wear but rooms are very clean. Cell service can be a little spotty. Lots of things to do. Awesome fitness center just across the road. Von trapp brewery is 10-15 min walk and a must see.

Fantastic place to stay in Stowe VT. Staff is so nice. The breakfast was the best! The property so large. We cross country skiied. Had a sleigh ride. They have a shuttle on the property. A gift shop. Close to town. Loved the place!

A superb mix of Austrian style with and American mindset (huge rooms with couches, tables... extra spaces and everything :), queen beds that are considered kings in any other countries in the world, an enormous pool, large everything really :)) while away from noises of roads and the town. The pool, fitness center and hot tubs are also above average. An outstanding hotel and location!

Just stayed 1 nigrh at obe their suites. Have some concerns about this hotel as they delivery much less than expect for a USD 500 night. The good: room is nice decorated and has quality. The restaurant is also very good (we had breakfast). The bad: the day before of our check in they sent us email requesting a pre check in "to complete" our reservation. Also a sms came through. Check in was cold and I didn't get any information on the hotel features. To get.to your roon you will have find yourself in a maze. Yes, is like a challenge to find the way to your roon. There is not much to do there, they promise activities, but actually its not their goal. Also the indoor pool was closed for roof repairs and nobody told us about it. Even so, I doubt we would use that, since is located on the other side of the road. We also tried their brewery for a dinner and nothing really special. The place is beautiful, but expect to pay almost USD 10 for a beer pint. I was really frustrated as could really enjoyed my staying there.

We had a wonderful stay, everyone was so friendly and helpful, the Tyrolean Suite was amazing with the fireplace. Very clean and tidy property. Great cross country skiing and fun indoor pool. The shuttle to Stowe Mountain ski area was very convenient, we had a great family vacation, would highly recommend.

The lodge is absolutely FANTASTIC! It is very scenic, rooms are very comfortable, the setting and views are beautiful, and everyone we met on the staff - from front desk personnel to dining room to maid service - were all awesome! I would HIGHLY recommend your lodge to anyone staying in the Stowe area.

Loved the quiet and relaxed spaces, especially the lack of TVs in every space. You could really escape from the din of 24 hour news, sports, etc. Everything was impeccable: service, cleanliness, dining, activities, room accommodations.

I was very disappointed with our stay. The room is so old and not well kept at all, furniture are dirty with stains, almost no electricity sockets and the worst was the sofa bed. It was so bad , it literally broke me and my son's back, we slept in an metal pole and the mattress was so old and broken. It was a disaster of a night. I asked to fix it and instead I got an inflatable mattress. I was paying 800$ a night for an inflatable mattress!!! That is just ridiculous. After talking to the front desk four times!!!!! we finally changed the room to another old room. TV was not working, we asked assistance for five times during two days, and nothing, absolutely no response. I don't mind the TV but this is no way to treat guests paying so much money. The resort is great and beautiful and has many nice things we enjoyed but having this experience just felt bad.

Suite didn't have ventilation in our bed room if our suite. We had to leave the door open between the living g space and the bedroom to receive air. Our daughter slept in the couch pull out it was fair, not too comfortable. Many activities were on the list are added charges and the charges were not listed in the posting in the lodge. Only the rsvp and charges were listed on a flyer given at check in. Cable TV list and the actual Tv channels are different, this needs updating. The pianist was excellent but to sit and listen you had to dine in the formal dining room and pay a very high charge for dinner. The room was not prepared for the three adult guests . Not enough towels , soap , shampoo ect . We had to call for these items. The facility had the three adults staying prior to check in and the room should have been properly set up for the number of adult guests. Not very attentive to details . Slightly disappointed with the stay!:((

The area is beautiful. The hotel is in a spectacular location. The room was comfortable. However, there were a few issues. The refrigerator in the room did not work. Half of the outlets did not work, which made charging devices a challenge. The room was quiet until 7:00 am, when a food delivery truck backed up directly under our room. The staff was good until I had a question about my bill, then they became defensive and rude.

Room lighting was only fair. Carpeting , wall coverings , finishes-all dated , reminiscent of the Catskills in their decline years. Room rates with facility fees seemed too high all considered …even for Vermont. They could probably save a ton of $ on heating costs if the double doors to the balcony were properly sealed. Pool was nice and the yoga instructors top notch.

Absolutely beautiful room. Huge. Gorgeous view. Myriad of things to do. Everything we ate was delicious and each staff person we met was delightful. Recommend 💯 and look forward to returning for summer as we were there in winter.

As a fan of The Sound of Music this was always a place I wanted to visit and believe me, it did not disappoint! The grounds were beautiful. There was plenty to do, you really did not have to leave the property! Room was huge, clean and had a balcony overlooking the property. We had dinner at the restaurant, which was delicious! Our waiter, Brian, was wonderful! Can’t wait to go back!

I wanted to mention Jay at the main entrance was a pleasure to talk with giving us interesting details on how Maria wanted the property kept from animals to flowers. Everything about our room was excellent, All staff in the dinning room were great , the property is beautifully kept we would love to make another trip back again . Thank you !

The area is beautiful. The hotel is in a spectacular location. The room was comfortable. However, there were a few issues. The refrigerator in the room did not work. Half of the outlets did not work, which made charging devices a challenge. The room was quiet until 7:00 am, when a food delivery truck backed up directly under our room. The staff was good until I had a question about my bill, then they became defensive and rude.

A beautifully maintained property with extremely courteous staff members. If you are a Sound of Music fan -- you will love all of the photos displayed around the resort. There are so many cozy rooms to spend time relaxing or playing traditional board games. A great lodge feeling in the mountains with beautiful views. Just stayed 1 nigrh at obe their suites. Have some concerns about this hotel as they delivery much less than expect for a USD 500 night. The good: room is nice decorated and has quality. The restaurant is also very good (we had breakfast). The bad: the day before of our check in they sent us email requesting a pre check in "to complete" our reservation. Also a sms came through. Check in was cold and I didn't get any information on the hotel features. To get.to your roon you will have find yourself in a maze. Yes, is like a challenge to find the way to your roon. There is not much to do there, they promise activities, but actually its not their goal. Also the indoor pool was closed for roof repairs and nobody told us about it. Even so, I doubt we would use that, since is located on the other side of the road. We also tried their brewery for a dinner and nothing really special. The place is beautiful, but expect to pay almost USD 10 for a beer pint. I was really frustrated as could really enjoyed my staying there.

Went for a winter adventure and fell in love with the property, its history and the great staff. Located just outside of Stowe it has over 2,600 acres with ample forests, hills and lots of cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails. The lodge had all the amenities and warmth without the crowds.

Loved our stay at the Von Trapp resort. Location in Stowe is idyllic and the history and various tours are very additive to the experience. Food options are top notch from breakfast to dinner. The Von Trapp Lodge was idyllic. The entire area around the lodge is filled with hiking trails and quiet nature. We especially enjoyed the sheep and Scottish highland cows in the pastures on the property. We also took advantage of the family history tour. Everything was exceptional.

Absolutely beautiful! The von Trapp Family Lodge is worth it. The accommodations were spacious and cozy. Dinner at the Bierhall was delicious. I have a gluten and dairy allergy. There were many choices to choose from, my food came out first with an allergy marker, and I wasn't exposed to any allergens.

Wonderful stay. Dinner was excellent. We enjoyed the tours especially the family history tour. Our room was clean. Unfortunately the outlets on either side of the bed were not working(3 out of 4 outlets weren’t working). Fortunately my wife and I both travel with extension cords and could plug in our CPAP’s elsewhere. We complained about it each morning but it did not get fixed.

This trip was just meant to be relaxing and a long weekend. And it was that. We stayed in a king supreme room. The room was large-not like a typical hotel room. So that was super nice. Another bonus perk was we had a semi private balcany and the weather could not have been nicer. I will say that if you go definitely aign up for the history tour. This alone made our trip well worth it. For the cons: it was a bit pricey. There were trails or a ski pass that we couldve gotten but the snow had melted and the trails were not yet open, so no bonus there. The restaurant had a very limited menu that was pretty pricey. And the worst part of it all was until the last day of our extra long weekend(4 days) we never got a hot shower. The water was coming out at room temp, so it was very cold and made for a fast shower. Overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend it to everyone even if you dont know anything about the Von Trapps but are looking for a relaxing getaway. But their story is a good one :-)

The buffet breakfast is quite nice. The place is full of “Sound of Music” lore. The wine tasting (Wednesdays and Saturdays) is well done and comes with five wine, cheese, crackers, and fruit. Don’t miss the “history” lecture with a trip to the family graveyard. Really enjoyed the entire stay.

The historic tour (included in the stay) was fantastic! The view, the property vibe is magical. The older staff, especially those who have been with the lodge for years are very helpful. The younger staff at the front desk and the dining area could be more welcoming. Overall a great experience.

We would stay at the von Trapp Lodge again because of the history and amenities. We were disappointed in the hotel staff. They did not go out of their way to be helpful or provide support. We were staying for our 20 year anniversary as noted in our reservation and nothing was ever said by any staff member or even a simple card in the room which was a disappointment.
