This property is a great value. The location is convenient to downtown shopping and restaurants. The property is older and could use updating, but for the price point it's ok. The staff are very friendly and responsive. The view of the lake is amazing. The lower level lake front units are great for listening to the waves lapping on the beach and watching the weather come in over the water. Sun rises are beautiful! Fire pits and charcoal grills are available to enjoy as well.

We liked being right on Lake Michigan. Beautiful sunrises! But the deck was drab, plastic chairs stained, metal clutter and a lot of weeds in sand between property and beach. The room and bathroom was clean but light missing over sink, missing towel rack and shabby paint job over tile. Coffee was weak and pre wrapped muffins and cinnamon rolls unimpressive. Staff was nice.

Decent place. Beach was unkept, chairs were weather and in poor overall condition. They did accommodate an early check in which was greatly appreciated. 2 lights in the bathroom were burned out, and the bath towels were paper thin. That being said, loved the location and will be back again.

Very minimal amenities....but we knew that when we made the reservation. No in-room coffee...limited selection on breakfast...everything located in the lobby which was in a different building a few steps away. The furniture was a bit outdated and mismatched...not a big deal. The security lights outside the room were so bright...the curtain kept most of the light out but if you're a person who needs total darkness to sleep...bring a sleep mask. Overall we were pleased. The room was clean. The bed was pretty firm for my preference but my husband slept well. The shower got hot quick, the water pressure was good. The room provided everything that we needed to stay comfortably...a mini fridge and microwave. The balcony deck was enjoyable...wish the furniture was a bit better so we could have sat outside to enjoy the sounds and views of the lake. The best part of the whole stay was being able to open the sliding glass doors and listen to the sounds of the lake and enjoy the nice cool breeze. We enjoyed our stay here and if we find ourselves in Algoma again, we'd stay here again.

A rustic vibe throughout located directly on the shores of Lake Michigan with direct access to the beach featuring fire pits and picnic tables. Outstanding view, quiet and quaint gives a feeling of seclusion even though you are within easy walking distance to the vibrant downtown.

This is a gem of a property. Steps away from the waves of Lake Michigan. Incredible sunrises. Just sit on balcony and watch and listen to the waves. Peaceful. If have mobility issues let them know as there are stairs to ambulate for first floor rooms.

Property is clean and fairly well maintained. The view of the lake was amazing. Lots of psrking. Nice beach to take a stroll on. Pillows needed to be thicker and the heating/ac unit was noisy in heat mode.

Having Lake Michigan and the beach right behind our room was the highlight of the stay. I cracked open the back patio door and just listened to the crashing waves on the beach. Parking was right in front of the room. Employees were friendly and welcoming. The room was kind of small but the bed was comfortable. Easy check out in the morning as well.

Property right on the lake, beautiful views with the sound of the waves. The only downside is the condition of the rooms, I was there years ago and the owners kept it up very nice, this time it was not so nice. A few small things could be done to make it nice again. Plus microwave, coffee pot and under sink were filthy.

The only thing this place has going for it is location. Great view of the beach and sunrise but It could be so much nicer with a little bit of upkeep. The back decks and chairs are filthy. Just power washing them would make a huge difference. Most everything inside is beat up, old and non matching including the windows and woodwork. The bed is hard, and the pillows are flat. It has to be depressing for the cleaning people to clean the rooms, but they do a good job with what they have to work with.

We enjoyed the view and proximity to the sand beach of Algoma. Bathroom was clean. Floor in main room needed mopping especially under the bed. Chairs on deck were too dirty to sit on. Front desk was friendly and helpful. The feel was that of a rustic cabin with a bathroom. The bed was okay.

The motel is showing its age. The room was clean, but had a smell like it had been smoked in. Bed was not comfortable. We wouldn't stay there again, but enjoyed the incredible lake view and sitting outside by the water.

The beach side provided a nice view but the entire property needs to be gutted and renovated! The mattress was old, cheap and uncomfortable. Thin worn out sheets and old polyester bedcover looked 40 years old. So many better and newer motels in Door County.

The view and location are perfect. Having said that the condition of the motel is pretty rough. Beds past their prime and overall age of the units is its biggest issue. Like I said location location location, and watching the sun rise over the water from your balcony is awesome. The town is far from Door County but it’s way less crazy so feels like a small town.

The view from our room was great,continental breakfast not too good, coffee was lousy tasted weak and watered down.The mattress was too soft, and the t v remote doesn’t have guide or scroll option.

A wonderful location on the banks of Lake Michigan with an outdoor deck overlooking the lake. Unfortunately this property is very dated to the point where it appears they’re using the original bed linens and towels from when it was built. The mattress seemed to be old and worn out as well. To their credit, there was a 42” tv in the room, but I never used it so I can’t comment on picture quality. The interior of the room was unattractive. A small microwave was stacked on top of a small refrigerator which was sitting on what appeared to be an old nightstand. A small clothes rack for hanging clothes was bolted to the wall next to the exterior door. With all this being said, it’s actually what I kinda expected from an old school roadside motel. The bathroom was clean and the water worked fine. What was really discouraging was that there was very fine sand on the linoleum wood grained floor. I actually collect grit on the bottoms of my feet walking around the room barefooted. Even with the exceptional location, I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was clean but very small. The bathroom was cramped and had no sink (which was in a corner of the room). The doors slam easily and cause vibrations on the entire floor. Walls are not well insulated for sound as we heard our neighbors till near midnight and early morning. Ideal place for touring other areas of Door County, but not as a destination by itself.

Parking lot and entrance to my room covered in thick ice , very dangerous. Bangs, creaks, and noises ALL night long. But from what I have no idea since I was alone in that section of the building. Never saw anyone there. No one at checkout or check in. Breakfast??? Didn’t see anything. If there was it was well after 7:30. It was relatively clean and I am sure it is beautiful in the summer when you can go down by the lake, but it isn’t worth that much in the winter.
Parking lot and entrance to my room covered in thick ice , very dangerous. Bangs, creaks, and noises ALL night long. But from what I have no idea since I was alone in that section of the building. Never saw anyone there. No one at checkout or check in. Breakfast??? Didn’t see anything. If there was it was well after 7:30. It was relatively clean and I am sure it is beautiful in the summer when you can go down by the lake, but it isn’t worth that much in the winter.

Decent place. Beach was unkept, chairs were weather and in poor overall condition. They did accommodate an early check in which was greatly appreciated. 2 lights in the bathroom were burned out, and the bath towels were paper thin. That being said, loved the location and will be back again.

I have been a regular annual guest at the Algoma Beach Motel for many years. I love the Lakeview rooms with a balcony to watch the sunrises and moonrises, as well as the convenience of dining, shopping, and many interesting sights and history! It is close to the beautiful Lighthouse and Crescent Beach. Most of all, the staff is so friendly and helpful with anything you need! A special “Thank You!” to Mac, for his above-and-beyond service!!

Unfortunately, the room we reserved was not handicapped accessible, even though my phone call to the property seemed to indicated that we could navigate to our room. We ended up having to forfeit our kitchenette room. But the proximity to the waterfront was wonderful. We couldn't navigate to the actual beach due to a rocky barrier, but the view from our balcony was wonderful and the sound of the waves was music to our ears. The proprietor was very helpful in adjust our charges to reflect the new room.

Having Lake Michigan and the beach right behind our room was the highlight of the stay. I cracked open the back patio door and just listened to the crashing waves on the beach. Parking was right in front of the room. Employees were friendly and welcoming. The room was kind of small but the bed was comfortable. Easy check out in the morning as well.

The view and location are perfect. Having said that the condition of the motel is pretty rough. Beds past their prime and overall age of the units is its biggest issue. Like I said location location location, and watching the sun rise over the water from your balcony is awesome. The town is far from Door County but it’s way less crazy so feels like a small town.

This property is a great value. The location is convenient to downtown shopping and restaurants. The property is older and could use updating, but for the price point it's ok. The staff are very friendly and responsive. The view of the lake is amazing. The lower level lake front units are great for listening to the waves lapping on the beach and watching the weather come in over the water. Sun rises are beautiful! Fire pits and charcoal grills are available to enjoy as well.

Very nice resort, I like it because it is away from the more touristy areas..the lake is just around 100 feet from your patio, cute little town and you can always drive to see door county..we will definitely come back

A rustic vibe throughout located directly on the shores of Lake Michigan with direct access to the beach featuring fire pits and picnic tables. Outstanding view, quiet and quaint gives a feeling of seclusion even though you are within easy walking distance to the vibrant downtown.

This was a couple weekend. Reasonable price for being right on Lake Michigan. Coffee available all day. Continental breakfast was packets of instant flavored oatmeal and processed muffins. We were out site seeing during the day so we were in our room only to sleep. Which the queen size bed was very comfortable. I would stay again because of price and location.

Amenities listed breakfast, nothing offered other than coffee and juice. Nobody in lobby at all in the morning, phone # listed to call for assistance went unanswered. Noisy heater turned on and off every 10 minutes all night.

The only thing going for this place was the location. It was right on the beach and the view from the Nautical Queen room was gorgeous. The owners definitely cut corners where ever possible in the room. It could use a deep clean and touch ups. We're pretty sure the bed was broken. The toilet seat was flaking and the sink and shower drains were clogged. The bathroom door couldn't shut all of the way. The continental breakfast was just coffee and prepackaged muffins and honey buns and instant oatmeal.

Great views and reasonable prices for the excellent lake front location! Room and bathroom were clean but extra pillows on request were "not available" and the bed id rate a 3/5 for comfortability. Their continental breakfast was sub par at best with a limited selection of pre packaged pastries and watered down coffee but we will be back as the pros out weigh the cons!

Very minimal amenities....but we knew that when we made the reservation. No in-room coffee...limited selection on breakfast...everything located in the lobby which was in a different building a few steps away. The furniture was a bit outdated and mismatched...not a big deal. The security lights outside the room were so bright...the curtain kept most of the light out but if you're a person who needs total darkness to sleep...bring a sleep mask. Overall we were pleased. The room was clean. The bed was pretty firm for my preference but my husband slept well. The shower got hot quick, the water pressure was good. The room provided everything that we needed to stay comfortably...a mini fridge and microwave. The balcony deck was enjoyable...wish the furniture was a bit better so we could have sat outside to enjoy the sounds and views of the lake. The best part of the whole stay was being able to open the sliding glass doors and listen to the sounds of the lake and enjoy the nice cool breeze. We enjoyed our stay here and if we find ourselves in Algoma again, we'd stay here again.

Don't believe the "Continental breakfast" bit. When I asked where it was, the dude working grumbled at me & pulled out a tray of old sad looking cello wrapped "pastries". A step or two down from the kind you might find in a gas station checkout. That, and the AC sounded like a freight train. If this is what passes for a great stay in Algoma I'll pass.

The bed seemed smaller than a queen size and was a bit bouncy when you moved disturbing the other person. The room was mostly clean but there were some cobwebs in the room and bathroom. The continental breakfast was only coffee and packaged oatmeal, nothing else. When they came in to refresh the room, they swapped out the towels and cleaned, but they didn’t even make the bed, which we found a little strange. It was cheaper than most places, so if you’re not expecting much, give it a shot, otherwise I would not recommend.

To begin with the good, the property location was very nice. It made access to downtown very easy. It was nice to have fire pits on the beach for evening enjoyment. However, the beach chairs provided were dilapidated, many completely unusable, but remained as beach trash. The property is in bad need of a paint/stain job on the exterior. Our shower was filled with 2 inches of water by the end of a shower due to lack of proper drainage. Our bathroom door wouldn’t even shut, so you better be really comfortable with your roommate! We spent several days at the property and had no issues with noise from our neighbors, so it was relaxing in that manner. However, the air conditioner in our room was LOUD-like freight train loud. My biggest irritation during our stay though was my key. I made sure not to have by my phone or credit cards, but I had to have it reset EVERY DAY! I could never count on it working, so I’m glad it was never a problem to get it reset. I still don’t know why they wouldn’t give me a whole new keycard. I feel like there is so much promise in this property, but it feels like the owners have decided to just let it die.
