Bella Vista Suites Lake Geneva

We knew it was off season, but we didn’t think the hotel would be run down. We were hoping to use the pool and hot tub. We got a notice two days before coming that it would be closed the first two days we were there. However, when we inquired on Monday, we were told it was still closed. The other surprise was the window and door to the balcony in our room are in disrepair. The seals on both are non-existent. Air flows freely through them when they’re closed and the door doesn’t lock. We were on the second floor, but I still felt like the door should lock and I shouldn’t be able to feel air coming through the windows and door. Thank goodness we had mild temps.

Everything good, hovever, hotel does not serve breakfast daily.

We've stayed there every year for a number of years and it is one of "our" places, but this visit left a bad taste in our mouth. The fridge died, and had a LOUD buzzing sound on the defrost button that interrupted sleep.....and we lost our snacks! The toilet had a leaky "floater," and we had to close the bathroom all the time due to the sound. The lights burned out overhead in the kitchenette, and the other lights were INSANE BRIGHT LED bulbed lights. The worst was the pool area, which is actually why we always book there. The pool had a smell and a tint, and the hot tub was really gross. The hot tub is normally my looooooveeee when I visit and we've lounged, had adult beverages and enjoyed how piping hot it is.....after we visit the sauna. The hot tub was an odd tint and lightly green, with a ton of gross foam on it and it smelled. I lasted 5 minutes, and this is as it is usually a treat! It made me sad as we've gone every year, but something is clearly going downhill. I've never had a "list" of things going wrong anywhere I've stayed and I'm not a complainer - but for the location and cost, it's a concern.
