No elevator and no room refresh daily. Had to request clean towels and would have been nice to have them empty trash from room daily. Did that ourselves. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean. Felt safe in this area.

Short walk to see lake Superior was nice, no vending machines and ice machine was broke. The hotel is over priced for what it is ,I have stayed at nicer hotels for less money.

The hotel was ok, it does not have an elevator and when I asked about a room on the first floor, I was told they didn’t have any rooms available. The next morning there were only 6 cars in the lot, so it wasn’t booked up. The ice machine was broken and after 3 days it still had not been repaired. The staff was friendly, just not sure why I couldn’t get a room on the first floor or why there was no attempt to fix the ice machine. There is no view of the lake from your room, unless you stick your head out the window.

Extremely clean, quiet, safe. Rooms are spacious. Easy access to Lake Superior right next to the property with outdoor chairs and a trail along the lakeshore. Love this place. Washburn is quiet and modest and close to Ashland and Bayfield.

Not ADA compliant , no elevator to the 2nd floor,my wife is on oxygen for COPD,desk attendants comment was “its only 14 steps up”appreciate the concern 😑 Outdated,14” old toilet height, again not ADA compliant, rubber squeegee thing to stop the bathtub if you wanted to take a bath, TV had vertical lines in the screen (see photo)not positive but believe it stated online breakfast offered ( had a microwave and a coffee pot) met another older gentleman this morning carrying his bags down the stairs, he was struggling to say the least, he commented that he was offered assistance, then shrugged his shoulders and continued slowly down the stairs

Lovely place, well kept… only complaint is there is no elevator… we are retired and stayed for three nights. Good thing we are in pretty good shape so we could take our luggage up the stairs.

The Washburn Inn did not have an elevator, so that is not ideal, but we liked everything else about it. Also no vending machine, but the area was beautiful, the price was fair, and it was a great place to stay near Bayfield and Ashland both. The staff was very friendly.

This was the absolute worst hotel we have ever stayed at. First there was no maid service which should have been disclosed when booking. The bathroom lights power went out in the middle of 2 different morning showers. There were cob webs on the ceiling. Multiple spider webs in the window sill. We paid $200/night to stay in absolute trash. Avoid at all costs. They couldnt even fill the kleenex box....

The room was clean when we arrived. They have a housekeeping policy where you notify the desk in the morning as to requesting your room tidied up. We did and they never came. The next day I notified the desk manager and he helped with the trash and linens. He also helped carry our luggage up to the room when we arrived as they have no elevator. He was very nice. Nice showers

Was happy to find a room at this popular location during a busy end of summer season. Staff was friendly, the walk-in shower was new, and the sink and counter were clean. Fridge stayed cold, which was great. Downside: No elevator, and we were on the second floor. Expensive for what we got. Overall looked pretty run down. Old carpet throughout and the carpet in my room was visibly dirty (?forgot to vacuum). My bottom bed sheet had a quarter-size hole in it that looked like someone tried to darn or sew it. Same with the top sheet, but smaller holes..The bathroom fan made a horrible noise when I turned it on, so didn't use it. Bed was rather hard, but not awful. I might look harder for a different place next time.

Screens don’t fit large gaps windows don’t close all the way spiders everywhere in side had to stuff Kleenex on window gaps to stop them from coming in they were on cieling and killed some in the bed not good most windows in the place needed screens that fit

Nice location with pretty harbor view. Restaurant next door was good. No breakfast onsite but Coco cafe a few blocks away was excellent. Only negative was noisy air conditioner.

Did not like this property. No elevator so have to climb stairs all the time. No microwave in room. Found one downstairs in the back. No breakfast. No shades to keep light out in the morning. No view of the lake as ad shows. Too much money for this property!! Great location.

Our stay was very mediocre. Room was clean, but could use some repairs. No breakfast or even a vending machine that we could find. Nice view of the lake from outside, but the property oddly faces sideways to lake, so no rooms have an actual view. Could hear every step the people above us took. Very pricey for no frills.

The water view was great outside the property. The hotel itself was built perpendicular to the lake so no nice view from room. Property was dated but clean. We stayed here because the rates in Bayfield to visit Apostle Islands were very high.

Hotel had trolley service to the concert I was attending. Front desk called it in because the location to make reservations was closed. Also helped printing my tickets. The WIFI is not very good WAY UP NORTH :)

We liked the location of the property. Right next to the water and a nice walking path. The air conditioner in the room was way too loud! It kept cycling on and off every few minutes even after I raised the temp on it. We ended up opening the window and turning it off. I noticed the light that indicated that the filter needed to be changed was illuminated. It was a bit musty smelling in the room. One of the beds creaked every time you moved on it. Good thing I always bring ear plugs with me.

Forgetting I left my lights on, my battery naturally died. The staff immediately helped me and the manager went home to locate jumper cables - hospitality personified. I’m grateful to the Washburn Inn folks for their wonderful service that went above and beyond.

The guy that checked me in wins the award for nicest human on earth. Very helpful and kind staff. Clean rooms, very safe area. They have a quiet time which is great. Great view of the lake.

We had booked two rooms and only one was on their list. Fortunately, there was another room available. Casey was very helpful on getting the problem rectified, except for the mixed up phone call at 9:40pm telling me the other couple we were with had yet to check in. I will be watching my credit card statement to assure I was only charged once. Found out there was no cleaning service for stays over one evening, but they would provide more towels if needed. This should be conveyed prior to booking. A/C unit was extremely loud. Overall, the rooms were very clean, but the building could use a little work.

We needed a last minute room for the Bayfield/Washburn area, and I’m so thankful we ended up at the Washburn Inn! The room was well kept and clean, the shower water pressure and temperature was great, but the best part was the front desk staff. I had asked about a few local features and businesses and while he was immediately knowledgeable about them and told me about local walking trails, he then called our room later to let us know about a suggestion he just heard from another customer that was useful for us too! That personal touch was great.

Hotel had trolley service to the concert I was attending. Front desk called it in because the location to make reservations was closed. Also helped printing my tickets. The WIFI is not very good WAY UP NORTH :)

Came back to the hotel at about 9pm to discover our room key did not work. Would have been just fine except the "staffed desk until 10pm" was not staffed nor did anyone answer the phone provided for emergencies. Not a good time. Stay was otherwise fine

My stay was good overall. The location next to the lake is wonderful and the staff is very helpful. The room is clean overall and comfortable. My few critiques would be that the lobby does not open until 7 a.m., and so I am unable to get coffee before that time. The furniture is a little dated and not in the best shape. Overall it was a good stay. Thank you!

It is right on the Bay with lots of outdoor chairs and tables. It's also next to the marina. Only 15 minutes from the Bayfield boat tours and Madeline Island Ferry.

The water view was great outside the property. The hotel itself was built perpendicular to the lake so no nice view from room. Property was dated but clean. We stayed here because the rates in Bayfield to visit Apostle Islands were very high.

This property is in very good condition and well maintained. The only disappointing aspect is that there are not fantastic lake views that you might expect for a property so close to the lake. Very clean, staff was accessible and competent. Would stay again.

Nice location with pretty harbor view. Restaurant next door was good. No breakfast onsite but Coco cafe a few blocks away was excellent. Only negative was noisy air conditioner.

On-site bar/restaurant. On water. Great facilities. Room coffee terrible but lobby coffee fantastic. Walk easy to great Main Street breakfast diner. Great water view and facilities to sit/relax. Definitely recommend!!!

Great price for this area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Small property but right on the lake and a very nice restaurant across the parking lot. No free breakfast but most hotel breakfasts are not that good and they recommended we try a nearby restaurant which I think was called Time Out. It was very good and priced right.

The hotel is situated right on Lake Superior. Our room was updated and comfortable. The only issue was several spiders in the room, on my bed and on the ceiling. We were able to get the ones we saw but it was a little unnerving for the rest of the night. The front desk staff was told about the issue and we were assured that they would be on it right away.

Our stay was good. We love the chairs by the water. Not impressed with no elevator. My husband is a disabled veteran and has trouble negotiating stairs.

Great place to stay, but when we got arrived first day... our blankets were stuffed inside our drawers not folded and there was a ton of dog hairs on all the blankets, I love animals but certain dogs make causes my allergies too go crazy and this happened to be one of them. Start was great location was great.
