The jets in the hot tub need to be fixed. Half do not work.

To start with, we booked the hotel because it had a hot tub, but later found out that the hot tub was broken. The vending machines were completely empty with the closest convenience store over a block away. No TV reception. Loud party in hallway and lobby after 10 PM that I had to call the lobby about. The bed was again very hard. This was two bad stays at American Inns in two days. I won’t be staying there again!

The hotel was fantastic. Our only real complaint was that it does not have an elevator, which was difficult for one of our group to deal with due to physical limitations. Breakfast was good, coffee was great, and the pool and hot tub were very clean. We would stay here again. In addition, the small village it is located in is very nice!

Clean, quiet and friendly staff. Eggs and sausage everyday along with the waffles and cereal. Pool and hot tub were nice also. Easy access off freeway but far enough it was quiet.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Excellent pet area.

It was a convenient location. Pool water was cold as was the room itself.

Room looked like it was tidied up but definitely not cleaned! Toilet,floors, and counters had scum on them along with hair.The towels and linens were used! I was exhausted and went strait to bed so I did not notice until morning. I will be inspecting before hand on my next hotel stay.

This was a nicer hotel for the value in my opinion. Quite clean and it was a nice room.

Parking was great. The room was clean and comfortable, however the bathroom floor ( especially in the corners and behind the toilet needs better cleaning.

Property was clean and breakfast was good

There is no elevator. The rooms are okay the bathroom was dirty, caked dirt in the corners. We stayed at the Red Wing one the night before and it was so clean and comfortable. This was a complete opposite experience. Not all AmericInns are equal! Lesson learned.

The check-in staff is very nice. Breakfast is good with sausages and eggs. The hotel is quiet and clean. The only problem is that the bathtub is clogged and drains slowly.

This was the dirtiest hotel I have stayed at. I stayed two nights. No room cleaning the first night. There were crumbs in the bed. Hot tub did not work. There was a terrible smell on the second floor. The lady working on the second night was not wearing a bra. There was not a person at the desk. No towels in the room. Breakfast was not good. There was paint on the carpet going up the stairs. Honestly should receive a refund.

The bed was hard and uncomfortable. There was no coffee offered at the continental breakfast. The TV in the room wouldn’t get to a volume that I was able to hear clearly, so I had to turn on closed captions.

waffles were chewy gooey 2 days in a row- beds were the worst We have ever experienced. , just ok on cleanliness, sink and shower drained slow (we advised staff). good rate but I think we would pay more and stay in Lacrosse next time

Easy location, could have more blankets. Had 2 conditioners and no shampoo. Bed was too firm, air conditioner loud.

Large, clean rooms with comfortable bed and pillows. Lots of good TV channel options. Appreciated the breakfast being open until 10 AM.

Nice hotel. I stay here when i come home to visit. The only issue is bed comfort. Softer beds or a memory foam mattress would be wonderful.

The service and condition of this hotel was better than expected. Check in was exceptionally fast and friendly and I was able to get settled in quickly. The hotel was very conveniently located for me as well. My only complaint is they've obviously done a ton of work renovating the hotel but my room only had transparent blinds and not curtains. This was fine for privacy but with the parking lot and gas station view it was extremely bright in my room all night and I struggled to sleep well. If you're a guest, request a forest view. If you're the hotel - you might not even know this is an issue but now you do!!

After checking in, we went to our room (#211) and it was cold. We set the thermostat on the unit to an appropriate temp (a note on the unit said to set between 75 & 80 which we thought was a bit high). We then went to our family function thinking that when we return the room would be very warm, there was no change. Increasing the temp made no difference, unit continued to blow cold air. I went to the desk and reported the problem. The guy came up and tried to make it work. No luck, said the unit needed to be replaced, but made no offer of a new room. I then said we needed blankets (34deg outside) and he said he'd send some up. A person came a few minutes later with one blanket (we had two queen beds-3 people) but said there were no more blankets. There were many people in the hotel and this was all there was. Apparently nobody had heat?? I also was surprised that the desk chair was a folding metal chair. Every other hotel I've stayed in would provide a comfortable office chair. We were disappointed that the tables in the breakfast area were not clean. We were able to wipe the cleanest one off with a napkin.

Our check in by a wonderful and efficient young lady was followed by getting into a fantastic room with comfortable queen beds that appeared and felt like new. The entire property was like new. The AC kept the room at a perfect temperature all night without the usual sudden start up & click off noises. Large flat screen TV and walls must have bee sound insulated because we heard no neighbors or outside noises for the entire night. Best hotel we used this year! Highly recommend!!

It was a quiet area and right near the locations we were visiting. Friendly front desk and large rooms with comfortable beds. The lighting is dim so the bath area could use an extra ceiling light.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Only complaint was the deadbolt did not work. The metal plate did not line up with the lock so it could not be used.

Opened the door to the room they gave us to find another guy sitting in there. Staff apologized and gave us another room. Breakfast was good.

I went at 9:15. There was very little waffle batter and the syrup ran out. No eggs. So I had a couple pieces of sausage. Someone finally came to check the situation and restocked but it was pretty lame. The room was quiet and comfortable so overall it was just okay.

Hidden Gem is the best way to describe this property! Location is great, easy parking, room was comfortable, good shower pressure and it drained too! Morning STAFF (Female) was kind, friendly & super helpful - breakfast was perfect for getting on the road early.. I will say when I checked in the man at the front desk was not friendly, so I was not sure what my stay would be like, sometimes people can have a bad day but I have to say it was a restful night especially after driving in the rain for 700 miles. Would stay there again and recommend this GEM!!! Clean, Comfortable, Safe, Nice Price too!!

The gentleman at the front desk was super patient and helpful. Right after we checked in my daughter’s hand was slammed in a car door. The man working the front desk was quick acting with an ice pack. Definitely was a huge help when we were in a pinch.

I was very happy with my stay. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was good.

We were very disappointed with the service and level of maintenance of the property. A few details of the property to be aware of before booking. There is no elevator (this is stated in the property details). We were given a room on the 2nd floor and we have two small children under 4, so we needed to carry our bags, pack n' play, children, etc up a flight of stairs. The hot tub was closed and the pool seemed very cold. We were visiting family in town and we didn't realize there would be such a large fee to have them join us. The hotel charged us $10 per person (including for children under 3) for our five family members to access the pool area--$50 total for a one-hour swim. Given that the hot tub was broken and the pool was incredibly cold, this seemed excessive. When I talked with the manager about it to request a partial refund, he told me to just leave the hotel if I didn't like the policy (at 7pm) and walked away. Aside from the hot tub being broken, there were multiple maintenance issues. When we first arrived to our room, the office chair was broken. We also found black mold starting to form in the bathroom on the walls near the false ceiling. The false ceiling was extensively rusted. The bathroom did not have a working fan, which likely caused the rust and mold over time. The toilet seat was also broken. And there were a few rips in the couch, which was old and faded.

Service from the hotel staff was friendly and responsive. Breakfast was nice.

There is not a business center on site but front desk staff were helpful with making copies of a document. That was very nice!

We love staying at AmericInn in West Salem. It’s so convenient to family activities.

The hotel is located right off the interstate and about 20 minutes outside of LaCrosse. It was very clean and staff were very nice. Breakfast wasn't anything special but the hotel itself is great. There are also local bar and grills near that are good.

Close to LaCrosse. Wing Wednesday at local bar was great. Check in- basic- no overly welcoming or discussion. Person was quiet and quick.

Hotel was out of the way of any shopping or restaurants. Clean room and staff accommodated switching room to main floor to make it easier with pet.

Right off Interstate 90. Secluded from other businesses so you need to travel a bit to find restaurants. Kind people who work very hard; very good customer service; much appreciated. Rooms are newly remodeled, very clean. Breakfast was OK; very basic.

Conveniently located near activities in La Crosse, but without the sticker shock of lodging in La Crosse. Clean, updated, comfortable room. Hot breakfast was good as well.

Clean room and great service. Super nice staff. Breakfast was great- eating area super clean. They had sausage patties, scrambled eggs, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, juice, muffins and waffles. Very kid friendly. Pool looked great but we didn’t have time to swim.

We’ve stayed here three times, for a week or two at a time. The breakfast is very basic, but th3 coffee is always good and hot.

The morning breakfast had a nice selection and the staff was friendly. The location was wonderful and quiet. We did ask when checking in if there was any place in the area to get a pizza and the gentleman went into the entry way and handed me a brochure for Pizza Ranch in Lacrosse, which was out of the way. We did Google search and found a pizza place in West Salem and not far from where we were. Maybe he wasn't familiar with the area,but you would think you would promote other businesses in your area.

The room was great. The bed was great. The breakfast was about a C compared to all the leisure travel we’ve done this year. Mediocre at best.

Clean room. Quiet. Breakfast was very good. Close to freeway. A couple of places to eat nearby.

Check in was great, staff was very friendly at check in. Next morning went downstairs for breakfast which was not really warm. Choice of bold coffee or decaf and the creamer was out. No one around to let them know. I’d stay again because breakfast isn’t the #1 priority. Beds were comfy as were the pillows. Hot tub was warm and pool was a good temp.

Very welll kept up place for a moderately old building. Nice staff. Pool area needs updating, otherwise all was good except the breakfast eggs they served. Some kind of wet egg patty that was no good. Other than that, a real good place.

Liked: Easy to get to, accommodating. Disliked: breakfast was not that great. No one was attending to it. Ran out of food. No coffee, only in the room.
