We chose Jamaica Palace hotel for peace & quiet and it was awesome. We received great services from front desk and restaurant and the grounds was peaceful. Lots of mangoes too. The Jamaica shaped pool was warm and inviting and we spent memorable time in the pool and it rained also. That was a blessings. We will definitely return. All the staff were to be commended- the restaurant staff "Y' and front desk and even the pool attendant was kind, professional. Hats off to Jamaica Palace hotel - 5 star in my book

This hotel is a gem! It looks beautiful, has plenty of space and is great for a quiet stay. It is just missing a few touches that would make it great (etc. extra amenities such as a gym, tv in dinning room, cable in the rooms, access to open bar near the pool, concierge for things to do around the area, etc)

The rooms were nice and clean, the bed is a bit stiff. It would also be nice to have more of a variety in terms of food and if it could stay open a little bit later. The pool also closes early, at 6. The hotel employees were all very nice and helpful .

Beautiful property, the gardens surrounding the property are immaculate. This is a classic old hotel with art work in abundance everywhere, classic period furnishings are priceless. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was sumptuous. We had dinner there twice and the food was delicious. You should visit to see the art of the great Ken Abondano Spencer in a part of Jamaica brimming with natural beauty.

Yes the room was very clean the staff was amazing and it show that the owner is on top of is biz it was a hurricane and they where prepared we had light hot water they told us the ac will not work so they gave us fan which did a great job it my go to spot whenever am in Portland love the pool the property clean lots of beautiful fords beautiful sea views amazing staff thank you to all the staff we appreciate you awesome service and I have to also big up the chef’s because the food was really good

The property was clean and kept in immaculate condition. The rooms and the bathrooms were very clean. Each day the housekeeping staff did a superb job in keeping the rooms clean. Jennifer, the supervisor of the housekeeping team, was awesome! The Chefs and the dining room team gave superior service and the meals were delicious and divine. Ms. Campbell and the front office team were very welcoming and made sure to cater to each guest’s needs. The grounds of the hotel are kept in pristine condition and the pool in the shape of Jamaica is one of the biggest and best kept pools I have seen. My stay at this hotel was wonderful!

What I like most about this property is the staff, they are amazing. The friendly greeting at the gate by security to the warm welcome at the front desk (especially Tisha) and the gleaming smiles from the breakfast staff to start your day. Ms Elizabeth is always with a pleasant smile whenever you ran into during a walk. The property is very clean and housekeeping team always seems eager to keep such cleanliness intact at all times. However, the property is very dated, the rooms and bathroom would be so much brighter and lighter with an upgrade. Overall this place is one I would recommend if you need a quiet place to stay outside of town but not too far away. WiFi service was very good I got plenty of work done including zoom meetings.

I enjoyed the breakfast option available to guests; the room was clean and comfortable. Internet access was available and consistent. Having private transportation would make it easier to access local amenities. The "satellite" tv was a challenge to watch.

Staff was amazing. We went through a Cat 4 hurricane while we were here. The staff was very attentive and even moved our rooms closer to the dining hall. Beautiful surroundings quiet and as described online.

Breakfast is included and is Excellent. Well done to all reception staff for responding to all enquiries. Outstanding services from Sonia on reception and All Security.

We stayed at The Jamaica Palace Hotel during our road trip to Portland. The service from Ronnie & Simone was professional, friendly and welcoming. The room was as described in the hotel profile and couldn’t ask for any more. We had a look around the property and it has amazing views of the Caribbean Sea. The gardens and swimming pool are well maintained and beautiful too. I would like to say a special THANKS to Elizabeth for promise of mangoes on our stay. I hope to visit again on my next trip to Jamaica. Thank you Karline P

After booking online and arriving at the hotel we were told we had to pay a holding fee of USD 200. In this day and age we thought this to be very inconvenient and archaic. Of course when we tried paying this holding fee, the machine would not work for some of us and for others it ended up charging the card twice. Checking in took forever and a few of my friends had to change room because of sparkes flying from the light in the room. Breakfast was ok and the staff we encountered in the morning seemed more knowledgeable about the operations. The beds were comfortable.

This place was strangely wonderful in some ways. 80 bedrooms, all facilities open and well managed by friendly staff, including great pool area and gardens, dining room and bar, but for 2 of our 3 nights there only 2 rooms taken, ours. 4 guests in the whole hotel. The staff outnumbered us by about 4-1. It is a grand, quirky hotel which we enjoyed staying at. The food in the dining room was unfortunately not that great for the price, and the road in the area is still under construction so is bad. It is not easy to go far in the evening so after trying the hotel restaruant maybe eat out during the day and just relax in the evening as we did.

It was a challenge to do early check in but the staff were able to accommodate us. The cons are there’s not any dining options nearby. It requires a drive 20 mins out to find food. The hotel doesn’t provide snacks or a little cafe for quick meals.

I enjoyed the breakfast option available to guests; the room was clean and comfortable. Internet access was available and consistent. Having private transportation would make it easier to access local amenities. The "satellite" tv was a challenge to watch.

This place was strangely wonderful in some ways. 80 bedrooms, all facilities open and well managed by friendly staff, including great pool area and gardens, dining room and bar, but for 2 of our 3 nights there only 2 rooms taken, ours. 4 guests in the whole hotel. The staff outnumbered us by about 4-1. It is a grand, quirky hotel which we enjoyed staying at. The food in the dining room was unfortunately not that great for the price, and the road in the area is still under construction so is bad. It is not easy to go far in the evening so after trying the hotel restaruant maybe eat out during the day and just relax in the evening as we did.

Great customer service all round. From front desk, to managers to bar staff and servers. Was really quiet as not many guests when we stayed which made it a nice relaxing experience. Roads leading to the property are quite bad as they are currently fixing them. Overall food was good (enjoyed dinner and breakfast) but lunch options could be improved.

This property has so much potential. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous views and lush gardens. Pool is nice and large. The service is really lacking. It takes forever if you order off the a la carte menu (1 hr for a snapper fillet with french fries!) The bedroom and bathroom are really dated. You can tell nothing has been done in a long while to improve the place and it's a real shame. We won't be coming back.

Beautiful property, the gardens surrounding the property are immaculate. This is a classic old hotel with art work in abundance everywhere, classic period furnishings are priceless. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was sumptuous. We had dinner there twice and the food was delicious. You should visit to see the art of the great Ken Abondano Spencer in a part of Jamaica brimming with natural beauty.

I booked the hotel reading the reviews both good and bad and not sure what to expect. However, our experience was perfect. We stayed in room 30 and it was clean. The water pressure was great, the air-conditioning and everything worked fine. We had breakfast twice there and it was delicious. The facilities were clean and welcoming and picturesque. We Absolutely loved the property. It was well kept, pool was clean and the property is close to many food options and attractions. We had a perfect time and will definitely be back! The stone on the floors from the pictures look textured as if you could feel the stones on your feet Howe er it’s a completely smooth surface. It feels like flat tile with no grooves that was a nice touch.
