This a basic, conventional travel hotel. The rooms are reasonably spacious and appear to have been renovated not too long ago. There is nothing really wrong with it. It has only one significant issue: road noise. You could avoid or at least minimize the noise by selecting the right room location. Which brings us to my real issue or complaint. On checking in I requested a room in the back, the side away from the main street of the hotel frontage. That is exactly what I was given. On first glance it seemed perfect with trees out the window. We unpacked and went out. When we returned we heard a lot of road noise. We later figured out the noise was coming from a highway not visible to us. The building layout is somewhat unusual with a small section off the lobby being closest to the highway. Anyone working a front desk knows perfectly well that when a guest asks for a room in the back what they really are requesting is a quiet room. The receptionist deliberately took advantage of our ignorance to give us a room in the noisiest possible location on the property. This is pure, needless meanness. The act of a small person exerting power. The polar opposite of hospitality. The writer of this review had over 30 years experience in senior management in the resort industry and currently spends over 50 nights a year in hotels.

Good breakfast, nice staff, but the parking is tight and shared with a Whitespot be forewarned if you drive a truck or plan on driving with a trailer!
