Motel Goolwa is in a good central location - close to restaurants and bars - and easily walkable to Goolwa wharf. The room was spacious and clean with good parking space. We enjoyed our breakfast at "Jack's place' (part of the motel) where we got a discount because we were staying there. Nice a friendly staff.

Rather brusque reception and an in-room guide with extensive instructions on what not to do. Interesting building which resembles an old army barracks. Ample parking outside in the courtyard. Huge room with plenty of space to unpack and store. Aging carpets and curtains. Good location intown centre with proximity to cafes and restaurants.

Disappointed! Black mould throughout the bathroom and tiles falling off the wall. Service was disappointing - when seeking assistance with transport. We ended up having to walk a number of kms as no alternatives were available and staff didn’t seem to care.

Very ordinary, not as nice as the pics, the lead photo is misleading, and for over $200 a night, I would expect to not have toilet paper that is in a lock box in case I steal it. It was daggy, the curtains were hanging off their hooks, was very dark and the fridge freezer section was dirty.

Even though the hotel was not full, we were given a weirdly proportioned room in a dark corner up 2 flights of steep stairs (we had 2 large bags). Room 14 was the worst in the complex, it faced the loud busy road, it was above a loud restaurant, power point didn’t work, bath shower didn’t work, and the price we paid was $30 more than I later found advertised for other rooms. If we had any of the other rooms, I think it may have been ok.

It was great. Weird arrangement of the very small shower and toilet being either side of the shared kitchen/bathroom. Other than that it was roomy and comfortable. I accidentally left some drinks, bought as a gift. The cleaner came in as we were packing and we left him to it. Disappointed they didn't phone me and let me know l'd left it as l was nearby most of the day. Check in was easy, staff lovely and very friendly. Location is great and it was very quiet. Girls in the coffee shop next door were much more interested in their social life than serving. Coffee was great but unless you want to wait awhile maybe go elsewhere.

My check in experience unfortunately affected the overall rating. When i arrived there was no one at reception even though the notice was until 6pm for office hours. I had received a call at 4.15 asking of my check in time but as i was travelling at the time, couldnt answer the phone. I arrived before 5.30 There was no message telling me to use the key box code or how to. I rang the land line number the manager had asked me to ring back on only to get a voice message back. After waiting, with nowhere to go i went off looking for shop to get a drink. After leaving 3 messages i eventually received a call back from a male who told me to use a code for the key box. I went back to the motel and followed the instructions several times to no avail. Luckily he had rung using a mobile so i was able to ring him back. He sorted it by giving a different code and a different room. I was tired and had a shower and boiled water for a coffee. There was no milk in the fridge!!! The room was very clean and bed very comfortable but what spoilt my stay was that at no time was i apologised to. I had done nothing wrong. I arrived within the reception hours listed, yet was left on my own with all indications that the manager had left for the day with nothing in place for me. Things go wrong. Frustrating yes, but fixable with a sorry. While i appreciated the gentleman who eventually fixed the problem the manager had left behind, a simple apology was in order. None was given by anyone. Poor

Comfortable beds. Lovely warm room. Very effective heating. Ground floor motel unit with parking outside. Towels too small. Bathroom kitchen and toilet area urgently needs an upgrade. Lovely cafe attached to motel. Great location in main street Goowla. Hard to find and not well light up if you arr new to Goowla and come in at night in the dark.

Motel Goolwa is in a good central location - close to restaurants and bars - and easily walkable to Goolwa wharf. The room was spacious and clean with good parking space. We enjoyed our breakfast at "Jack's place' (part of the motel) where we got a discount because we were staying there. Nice a friendly staff.

It was great. Weird arrangement of the very small shower and toilet being either side of the shared kitchen/bathroom. Other than that it was roomy and comfortable. I accidentally left some drinks, bought as a gift. The cleaner came in as we were packing and we left him to it. Disappointed they didn't phone me and let me know l'd left it as l was nearby most of the day. Check in was easy, staff lovely and very friendly. Location is great and it was very quiet. Girls in the coffee shop next door were much more interested in their social life than serving. Coffee was great but unless you want to wait awhile maybe go elsewhere.

We stayed in a comfortable upstairs room. The shower was good and the room neat and tidy, although the bed was rather soft for our tastes. Jack's cafe is a good place for breakfast and all the staff were friendly. The location on the main street is also convenient.

We have stayed here before but probably won't again. The location is pretty much the only good thing about it. The bathroom is very much in need of a reno, the toilet has a snatchy toilet roll holder. The aircon didn't work properly and was more like heating. The bed was the killer though, it was soft and lumpy and we barely slept whilst there. It wasn't even cheap. Also, we did book an upstairs room but I don't understand why, when the place was empty, you wouldn't just upgrade us to a downstairs room, rather than put us right in the middle upstairs. Was a shame as we love Goolwa and the location is so good.
