Convenient area to get to and from things in and around Peterborough. It was a pleasant surprise that they had a charging station as well, as I do not believe it was listed in the amenities. We will definitely be back come the OHL season!

BEDBUGS !!! I was given room 107 upon arrival. When getting into the room, I checked the box spring of my king size mattress - it was encased in a bed bug box spring protector cover. That cover had typical bed bug dots/stains on the corners. I left the room immediately and asked for another room (the room was prepaid and non refundable, and I had just driven 15 hours ... otherwise I would have went to another hotel). The front desk guy was extremely dismissive, laughed ad me and said that the covers are in all of the rooms. But 'whatever', he'll find me another room. Got another one in a different section of the hotel - it had two double beds that did NOT have the bed bug protector covers on either bed ... and no sign of bed bugs on the box springs or anywhere else in the room. I slept like crap though as the A/C fan was malfunctioning and would NOT turn off all night (was set to auto). I was exhausted and didn't clue in to what was going on until morning. I didn't stick around to see if they offered breakfast, I ran out of there at 7am and will never return. To management, spare us your insincere canned reply in an attempt to save face ... simply make a better effort to deal with your bed bug problem and most importantly, don't dismiss customers when you're confronted with the issue.

We stayed on theb1st floor. Room 129. Originally we were in room 127. The room smelled like stale tobacco and cat urine. I asked to be moved immediately. They later moved us to 129. The room smelled like cat urine and mold. They informed us that the hotel was sold out. I didn’t sleep the entire weekend as my headache was pounding the entire time I was there. I would recommend not staying in that wing of the hotel as it is likely a health risk.

Great location, but bad experience and had to leave our room at 2:00 a.m. after being bitten with what I expect were bed bugs. Woke up with five swollen bites in a row across my lower neck and collar bone. This was in room 434 - please check the bedding and pillows. No one was at the front desk when we left so I placed the card keys on the reception desk. Refunding my fee would be a welcomed first step in getting my confidence back with Best Western Plus hotels.

Didnt clean our room. Houekeeper lied and said do not disturb sign was on door??? We double checked before we complained and it was NOT . We left just after 10 and returned just before 7. Our grand-daughters b-day so had ppl over to this mess. Front desk brought some towels and i changed garbage.she left note for a discount. Refused to give discount this morning?? Terrible

The room we stayed in was overall clean but very outdated. We had 2 queen beds and our main concern was that both beds were very noisy. Our kids would simply roll over in their bed and the bed was loud with squeaks and metal spring sound? The same applied to the bed my wife and I were in. Just simply rolling over and the bed was extremely noisy.

The staff was lovely and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The decor is dated, but in decent condition. The quality of the breakfast was a surprising bonus. Location was perfect for what we were doing. Would stay again.

We were in town for the Trent University Convocation. We stayed one night. The staff was wonderful. The room was amazing. So spacious and clean. There was a balcony with a beautiful view. The bed was comfty with extra pillows. A delicious free breakfast was included. Lots of yummy choices. I would 100% stay here again.

The air conditioning unit in our room was extremely loud. Because of this, it was impossible to sleep. The hotel exterior desperately needs to be painted. The staff we dealt with were very nice, but the hotel needs some upgrades.

The first room I entered was very smoky and after reporting theis to the front desk they were very accommodating and moved me into a different, better room. The TV system was quite frustrating --it is such a slow system and extremely frustrating to navigate

The beds were very comfortable and cozy. Bathroom, small but had amenities. The worst part , on a very hot day, was the horrible noise of the air conditioner. It made the sound of the spin cycle of a washing machine that was too full.Almost like having a helicopter over the roof!. I lost hours of sleep because of this. Will never go back there.

Staff was excellent, friendly. Polite and helpful, room was nice but the TV channel selections was terrible. Some basic Channrl selection with no guide or listing of channels so it had to go through one at a time. No movie selections either.

the front desk was very, rude. they didn’t inform me in what id say needed anywhere or over the phone i came with my health card and it wasn’t enough so i got my mom to help, and she said to my mom very disrespectfully, “do you really wanna help him with this” then followed up with “ are you sure you wanna do this for him” as if i was such a terrible person. felt very uncomfortable and she didn’t say this infront of me she waited till i left back to the car.

ABSOLUTRLY TERRIBLE!! No mention of needing the physical credit card for check in and I was refused my room entirely, and with a no refund policy NEITHER the hotel or Expedia has returned my funds or even issued a credit for this! I’m a single mother, who saved over a few weeks to afford this night; and this entire experience has turned me off this site completely. I’ll be using a different platform from now on, simply because Expedia does not seem to care that I am out $233 in this economy. I’m expected to just accept it. Thanks for ruining date night Best Western! Truly appreciate it!

What a nice surprise. I was greeted by a lovely young person at the front desk, Rylin, who took care of my check in and all my questions. The room was exactly as described and the bathroom was spotless. I don’t usually leave reviews but this hotel deserves to be acknowledged for its great staff. I’ll be back.

We have stayed at the Otonabee Inn 5 or 6 times during visits to see family in the area. We love the location and have never had any problems before. This visit was tainted by our check-in experience. Never have I been treated so rudely by front desk staff in a hotel anywhere. Never. I don’t know if the young woman greeting us was just having a reallyyyy bad day, but I was gobsmacked by her condescending tone as were my friends who listened nearby. If this was my first experience, I’m not sure I would come back. All other staff—housekeeping, breakfast—were delightful, as usual.

I have been utilizing this hotel for years. The staff here are top notch. I especially enjoy the river side suites. After a long day, sitting on the balcony taking in the river and wildlife is so relaxing.

The room was clean, staff was excellent, the front desk staff last night took us to the elevator and guide us to our room. Very nice. The breakfast staff was amazing and very helpful.

Staff was friendly and helpful and location near Canoe museum was ideal. Excess number of geese along river made walking in grass a bit like a mine field but nice location.

It was close to the family we came to visit. It was also close to a beach and other tourist type sites that we visited. We enjoyed sitting on the riverside deck at breakfast each morning. It gave us a peaceful moment before we started our day.

Booked room and checked in very late, was nicely received at reception although the PMS system was very old and took a few minutes. Hotel and room were v clean, NO odours of either strong cleaning products or stale carpet shampoo that you often find. Breakfast was included, coffee smelled good, cheese omelettes were great. Although we did not use the facilities, pool and gym were well situated in the lobby with enough equipment for a sound workout. Location was great for our next stop in Peterborough, the Canoe Museum.

Beautiful gazebo situated beside the river to just sit and enjoy nature. Especially appreciated wheelchair parking close to entrance. Staff friendly.

Easy to access from the street. Restaurant options around and food options. The night time during the warmer weather can be loud as the patio of the restaurant plays music. You can also hear anything and everyone from the hallways to the rooms next door. Check in and check out was easy. Very basic gym equiptment. The dining room for breakfast is in another building that you have to go outside to get it which is odd.

The breakfast was horrible. My daughter wanted oatmeal and all that was in the hot plate was crusted remnants, and we were there pretty early in the service. The beds were not very comfortable and we only had sheet coverings.

Yes the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and they even had gluten free bread for those of us that have gluten free issues which was much appreciated. The place was very clean

Wonderful stay always/ this is the best spot to stay in Peterborough. Quiet and comfortable and the staff from the front desk to the kitchen were such a pleasure to deal with, friendly and so helpful down to gluten free options for the breakfast - very careful and so many compared to most. Excellent and highly recommended

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. Rooms were clean and well-appointed with a TV and a fridge. Had Keurig machines in room, which was a bonus. The small deck off the room, with a lovely view of the river was really nice - lots of ducks and geese wandering the grass. The bed was comfortable, the shower had good water pressure, and there was a small couch in the room as well. The lobby had 24-hour coffee/tea/cocoa and a cold water dispenser. The breakfast was great - hot and cold options, open early. Finally, the pool and hot tub were great. Pool was clean, warm and had a proper deep end. The hot tub was small, but it worked well. Just a great hotel, nicely situated on the river.

Air conditioner in room was extremely loud, children slept poorly and were woken up multiple times because of it. Goose poop all over the property. Change room floor was very slippery. Child fell on way to the pool.

Hôtel très bien après une journée de route: au bord d’une rivière, petite piscine intérieure, assez calme, chambres spacieuses avec balcon pour certaines. Pain sans gluten au petit déjeuner, qui est plutôt complet. La moquette de la chambre était usée, et dans les parties communes elle était tachée.
