Stayed here to drop our daughter off as she started at Dickinson College. Walkable to shops and restaurants. We used the electric car charger which was super convenient. Would totally stay here again!

Parking is in an unattached parking garage. It is unclear and there are no directions as to what to do. We parked first before checking in because we just had an over night bag to carry in. There was no way to get in the door nearest the parking area and we had to walk up a steep hill for about a block to get to the front desk. My traveling companion was using a walker so the uphill climb was outrageous. The front desk attendant was on the phone and the folks waiting in line claimed they had been waiting a very long time. There was no one to help my friend up the hill and no apologies. In the room there was no TV guide and when I called the front desk, they had no knowledge of the local channels and their offerings. Vacuuming noise started before 8 am in the morning. On the plus side, the room was clean and comfy. The restaurant and bar were very good and the service there was excellent. Breakfast in the morning was adequate with rubber eggs, sausages, muffins and all the rest.

The parking was a little confusing as we needed to drive into a parking garage, wasn't expecting that. Once we entered the lobby, the parking situation was explained and there were no issues. Room was comfortable and clean. We needed to ask for more shampoo and cream rinse! Breakfast was typical continental style. However the restaurant was excellent and the chef was amazing, cooking "to order food" as I have dietary restrictions.

We only had two complaints. The first was rather petty, very small bathroom, only 1 tissue in the box! But there were plenty of big, fluffy towels, the room was very clean, quiet & well appointed. The staff was very good & the breakfast was wonderful. The only issue was parking. Since it was a downtown hotel, there was no on site parking, however there is a public parking lot right next door that charges $5 per day. Unfortunately, the city had closed it to be steamed cleaned the weekend we were there! On street parking was sparse but free overnight while the garage was serviced. There are great restaurants and things to see in walking distance. The hotel's restaurant has a patio just above the street & was always full, so apparently, the food was good. I would recommend this hotel to anybody!

I went for a weekend with my mother just to have some time away. The minute I stepped into the stairway I was disappointed in the cleanliness. Once out of the steps, first thing I noticed was a wave in the carpet where the whole center of it has lifted, all the way down the hallway. Went into the room and could tell we had a lazy housekeeper. Window was dirty and mirrors were all smudged up. The bathroom door was broken, it still worked but it took a few tries to get it to close each time. The bed was stiff, no refrigerator light, and just overall not very clean. I was disappointed overall.

We enjoyed this hotel. It is located ideally in downtown Carlisle and it has a great restaurant. We ate there twice. The room was clean and well ventilated. It had a seating area that we used frequently and found it to be a nice addition. The room was also spacious. The beds were clean and comfortable but there he pillows! The pillows are the only thing we did not like. They were small and plump and we found them uncomfortable. Otherwise I would not choose another hotel in Carlisle!

Great hotel. Perfect location. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. But, the hotel, rooms especially, are in pretty terrible condition. The rooms are clean, but even the pillows are so worn they folded them in have and put a pillow case around them. It looked like a cluster of tiny pillows. Dozens of blemishes in walls and splitting doors and a remote with an inoperable volume button. I will stay there again, but I wish they would but some money into the rooms.

The room was quite big and comfortable. The beds and the bathroom were a bit small. Breakfast was the expected minimal variety. Our first night was nice except for some challenges connecting to the Internet. The front desk staff were very nice, but unable to help with this issue. Our second night wasn't very good - some people in the next room turned their TV on loud at 11:30 PM and left it on all night long! It sounded like it was right on our room, so soundproofing appears minimal.

The front desk employee, Darnell was happy to see me ! He made me feel welcome to Carlisle. He explained all of the site amenities when I checked in. I saw him at breakfast on Saturday and he remembered me. He asked me if my stay was going well. He is an attribute to this hotel !

Lovely hotel in beautiful downtown Carlisle, PA. Friendly, helpful staff. When we checked in, our the TV in our room was not working- sound, but no picture. We alerted the front desk staff, went out for a walk and the TV had been replaced when we returned. Very good breakfast - also a restaurant in the hotel.

Called ahead to make sure we were set up for a late check in as we were arriving after midnight. Got to the hotel at almost the exact time we said we were going to arrive and the entire place was locked up. We stood outside, in an unfamiliar place, in the cold, at 12:15am, for at least 10-15 minutes before the person working finally got back to the front desk to let us in, and then proceeded to give us an excuse that she was “downstairs getting supplies. Meanwhile, before we got in, we were minutes from leaving, thinking we were going to have to scramble and find some other place to stay for the night. The breakfast here is pretty lame too - one tray with some “omelettes” and sausage, barely any muffins / rolls, etc., green inedible bananas, sad looking fruit. We had hoped for, and had expected, much better from this place.

The breakfast here is pretty lame too - one tray with some “omelettes” and sausage, barely any muffins / rolls, etc., green inedible bananas, sad looking fruit. We had to call front desk multiple times about a very noisy room -people yelling from 9:30pm-3:00am. Desk staff should have monitored the room so we didn't need to keep calling to complain. Very frustrating.

First of all, this is one of probably 10 stays at this facility. I love the location. I love the fact it has a bar and restaurant. This time however… Was checked into room 101, then two hours later somebody else was checked into the same room. When I couldn’t get back into my room that evening, the desk told me that I was really supposed to be in 102 although I had been in 101 for several hours. They just couldn’t seem to figure it out. Also, the bathrooms continue to have a moldy smell I’ve reported this before.

Great location, easy to walk to the college as well as places to eat. However, during check-in, no one was at the desk and it took 5 minutes for anyone to come. The front desk staff was not friendly or overly helpful. When we went to our room, it had not been cleaned. Again, no one was very friendly about it. No one greeted you when you entered the lobby. I've stayed at this hotel about 10 times and will not stay there again.

Stayed here to drop our daughter off as she started at Dickinson College. Walkable to shops and restaurants. We used the electric car charger which was super convenient. Would totally stay here again!

I was traveling with my spouse and two dogs. It was great to be able to go eat at the good restaurant while leaving my dogs in the room. The room was a generous size, had a fridge and was very comfortable. I e machine right at end of the hallway. People were friendly and most importantly, it was clean and quiet. Dow town Carlisle is quite charming and felt safe at night while dog walking. Cute shops and a good coffee shop across the street if you need a cappuccino or something specialty. Very convenient to I-81.

We were in Carlisle for the Ice Festival and the hotel was in the perfect location for all the activities. The Whiskey Rebellion restaurant was delicious, and inside the hotel building. The free breakfast was nice and the staff was terrific. We will come back again.

Lovely hotel in beautiful downtown Carlisle, PA. Friendly, helpful staff. When we checked in, our the TV in our room was not working- sound, but no picture. We alerted the front desk staff, went out for a walk and the TV had been replaced when we returned. Very good breakfast - also a restaurant in the hotel.

Called ahead to make sure we were set up for a late check in as we were arriving after midnight. Got to the hotel at almost the exact time we said we were going to arrive and the entire place was locked up. We stood outside, in an unfamiliar place, in the cold, at 12:15am, for at least 10-15 minutes before the person working finally got back to the front desk to let us in, and then proceeded to give us an excuse that she was “downstairs getting supplies. Meanwhile, before we got in, we were minutes from leaving, thinking we were going to have to scramble and find some other place to stay for the night. So we arrived on a Friday after 4 pm so cleaning staff were gone for the day. Everything was nice until my daughter walked in the bathroom and found the shower to be quite dirty with hair and grime. We called downstairs to the lobby and they did offer to move us, but I really liked the room otherwise, so I offered to clean it myself, which I did. The front desk person told me that they would let the manager know, and the manager would reach out. They never did. The next morning we decided to sleep in, but the maid knocked on our door at 8:45 am. The interesting thing about it was in the bathroom. It said that if you wanted your room clean during your day, you needed to call the front desk and request it. When we finally got out of the room about an hour later I spoke to the maid and asked her if they could clean the room, especially the bathroom and provide us with clean towels. I also ran into the head maid a bit later and asked her the same thing. The room was never touched. When we returned to the hotel it was after 4 pm again and the front desk said that they were unable to do anything except give us towels. They also said that they would let the manager know about all our issues. The manager still didn’t reach out. Overall the hotel was nice, the restaurant in the hotel was pretty good, and the rest of the room seemed clean. The one thing I expect when I stay at a hotel is that the room is clean and they failed at that on multiple days. It was disappointing.

Comfort Suites Downtown Carlisle was a major disappointment. When I got to my room, I was immediately struck by an overwhelming smell of mildew and dampness. The hotel staff, who were great and did their best, graciously moved me to another room, but it had the same problem. There was mildew in the shower and the bathroom ceiling and walls were peeling as if from excessive moisture. After two nights, even the clean, unused clothes I'd left on the dresser felt damp to the touch. I stuck it out two nights, but I left a day early because I couldn't take it anymore. If I hadn't prepaid with a nonrefundable rate, I would have switched hotels right away. It's too bad, because the location is great. There's also an onsite restaurant and bar and a decent gym. It has the potential to be a terrific hotel. But it desperately needs to be updated and have the moisture issue fixed.
