Here for one night on a stop through. Place is clean, shower was hot with good water pressure, and the restaurant had good food. It's not luxury but great place for us.

Quaint vintage lodge in a gorgeous setting. We could have sat on the dock all night. Well, we practically did, it was light til midnite. Wonderful view, great food, super friendly staff. We would absolutely stay here again.

Some rooms don't have a TV or fridge so make sure you pick a room with what you want when you book. Disappointed that room was extremely basic (no end tables, no place to put hand towels) Very nice lake on property but the dock needs repairs. Restaurant is great and very friendly staff.

Beautiful views, a nice restaurant with good food and a bar. It’s within driving distance of Seward and several hiking trails, and sits right next to a gorgeous lake where you can go kayaking. The rooms are decent, though the internet connection isn’t very reliable.

I was glad to get to the lodge after a day of rain. they had a main lodge and another motel-like building across the street. It was clean and quiet, but no ice machine that I found. I met friends from back in Michigan that was traveling too! We had a very good dinner on sight.

Beautiful area. Needs an update. From a fire safety perspective the detectors were way out of date and their fire extinguishers were not serviced since 2017. Electrical was lacking

The property is a neat little place on a lake with beautiful scenery. It's an older place and there is nothing fancy. The people are pleasant to talk to, and very helpful. The restaurant had good food. There were 4 people in our room, and there was not enough hot water to go around. Cold showers aren't my thing. Other than that, everything was great.

We checked in and were told we had been upgraded to a lodge room, rather than a hotel unit room, which based on other reviews was a good thing. Pros: Our room had two beds and a sleeper sofa/loveseat. It was relatively clean. Tiny tiny tiny bathroom, but whatever. Good satellite TV and free WiFi. Restaurant and bar onsite. They were ok - nothing special. But this lodge has a spectacular location. Trail Lake is gorgeous. Moose Pass is a cute little community, conveniently close to a lot of things to do. Now for the Cons: this property needs maintenance! It is falling apart. Mattresses are bad. Carpet was ripped and falling apart, balusters on the stairs were falling apart, the dock was not usable. Log siding and wooden trim all deteriorating. Just heartbreaking. It was probably so beautiful back in the day. Please show it some love!

GreAt personell, lovely location but property is deteriorating. Sheets towels, frig etc clean but room needed a good scrub and dusting.

We were not sure what to expect with the wide range of reviews but we were very happy with our stay. First, the staff was amazing, from the person who checked us in to the restaurant staff, the nice manager we spoke to about our loud, drunk neighbors (they then quieted down), and the cleaning staff. Second, though older (we were in across the street motel section), it was very clean, beds were fine, shower was great. There was a disinfectant smell on arrival but not bad and to be expected in older property in Alaska. So overall very pleased.

I know a lot of the reviews have been negative but this lodge is just a simple, comfortable motel. The rooms haven’t been renovated so they’re a little run down but almost everything was spotless and the linens were clean. I’d say just some of the corners were a bit dusty and there were some hard water stains in the sink. The mattresses are a little saggy but were still decently comfortable. We stayed for a night to catch an early kayak tour out of Seward and it was a good deal. Most other places closer to Seward were at least 2x the cost for a room. Definitely recommend; just don’t expect the Rosewood.

Unsatisfied as room was not as site description , 4th bed was a sofa not ready we had to prepare and so old that you coyote feel each spring in the back. Many dirty on floor too. I will not come back again

It was clean and the staff was excellent to work with when i needed to change the reservation. The room was very minimalist--no fridge, microwave, kleenex, cups or glasses, TV, clock or radio and very few electrical outlets for charging. However, if all you want to do is sleep, it was pleasant and adequate. The restaurant has good food and reasonable prices.

The entire room was in need of thorough cleaning and some major renovations. The bedding and linens were clean and fresh so that was a plus. The price was reasonable considering the cost of everything in Alaska and overall the condition of the hotel was on par with most rentals in that area.

Had 2 night booked but room smelled like dog urine. Everything was booked so they said they could not more us. Everything else in the area was booked and it was pouring so we could not camp. I slept with a bandana over my mouth and nose but it hardly help. Owner did comp us the room for the two nights and and said would have it cleaned the next days while we were in Seward. When we got back from Seward (after cleaning) it still smelled and we left and found other accommodations for the night. Even though that night was comped.

I had a little room in their motel unit across the street from the main lodge. I slept well, probably in part because my neighbors were pretty quiet. I could hear them talking, the floors squeaked, I could hear the neighbors bathroom fan, etc. The room was warm and the window was hard to open - I think the tracks need to be loosened a bit. The place is kind of old and tired, but it served its purpose. Lovely location on Trail Lakes. Flightseeing operation next door.

The Trail Lodge was a much better price range than the rooms at Seward. A mini fridge would have been nice. There’s no AC, or fan, but the window had a screen, and the temp was fine. Our biggest complaint was the mattress. It was a 1 star. Ugh! There’s not tv, or phone, so we walked over to the lodge which is very log cabin and was clean. The staff were all hospitable. The beer was good. She even gave a little sip of the on taps so we’d get what we like. Later we had the best wings!

The room was quiet and clean but the property is in need of help. Bed was old and the water pressure is almost nonexistent. Room is very small. I would still stay there but for only one night not three. Moose Pass is a good location for Seward.

This property I will review. Although the staff, restaurant and lounge were all great, the room is very small and the bed is very old. No amenities. No TV, no Internet. But the upside is it’s proximity to Kenai fjords national Park. I stayed two nights but paid more than the room was worth.

The lodge was old and dated but that was expected and did not bother us. I gave a lower rating because the beds that were in our room were awful. I'm not too picky about beds, but I could feel the bumpy springs in the bed - they definitely need to change out the mattresses. (just a note that my parents were in a different unit and it was nice and comfy) It also should be noted that the walls are paper thin so you can hear all of your neighbor's conversations and "other activities".

There was no tv, fridge or alarm clock in the room. The walls were paper thin, we were awoken at 4:30a by the party in the room next door talking. It was as if they were in our room. We could hear every word they said. The mattress was broken down in the middle creating a "hole" & the side by the wall was also broken down causing my wife to 'slide' over to the wall as she slept. When checkout was attempted there was no one at the desk. A brealfast sandwich was advertised to be available but there was no one in the kitchen either. I would've expected more for $145/night.

This is a cute, no frills lodge in a beautiful spot. The lake outside is stunning. We didn’t have the chance to kayak, but I’m sure it would have been amazing. The staff here is great; very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant, too. And there’s a great deli/espresso/store across the street. We stayed here twice on our 10 day trip and would stay here again.

Friendly staff. Easy check in process. Clean rooms. Reliable internet. Quiet area. Two twin beds with electric base board heat. Our room did not have a television or coffee maker and the restaurant does not open until noon, so limited options for breakfast in the area. Nice place to rest on way back from Seward to Anchorage.

When we arrived we had to wait more than 35 minutes to check in because there was no one at reception. When I called a woman she was very rude and said we had to wait because she was busy. I explained that my old mother needed to go to her room because she wasn't feeling well and the woman said she couldn't do anything because she was busy.

We arrived very late- staff made check in very smooth and helped prior to arrival. Let us stay a couple extra hours to get needed sleep after delay at airport. Beautiful spot- wish we could have stayed longer.

Dated but clean for being so old. Food terrible, only 1 person working bar and restaurant and it was full so took long time and it was terrible. Coffe pot in room so if you want cream its $3 for just cup in lobby.

Yes, the room was small but comfortable. Very safe and quiet. Complementary coffee, tea, or cocoa at the restaurant. It is not the Hilton but was perfect as a kick off to Seward (about a 30 minute drive). We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and supper and both meals were delicious. I would stay here again-the sheets were clean and the water was hot! I do not need much else.

Quaint little lodge in an interesting little town about 20 mins from Seward. Lack of staffing made service a little slow but everyone there was friendly and helpful. Rooms were small but for an overnighter it was just fine. Although the rustic restaurant had a limited menu the food was fresh and tasty.

Typical bait and switch!! Picture IS NOT of the place we stayed!!! Had lunch before we found our room. Wife didn't even make it out of the restaurant before she became ill. We both developed food poisoning. And again, NO refrigerator and one of us had to crawl across the bed from the foot as there was NO room against the wall!! RUN FAST!!!
