Det var et hotel med en god atmosfære. Der var rart at være. Det var miljøvenligt og genbrug på en god måde. Byen var skøn og hotellet ligger centralt.

Prachtig 17de eeuws gebouw met superbehulpzame en sympathieke staf (7 sterren indien mogelijk). Kamer 108 heeft een erg beperkt uitzicht maar voor zakenreizigers als mezelf is het prima en ik heb heerlijk geslapen! Het avondeten was basic maar goed. Ik bestelde namelijk erg laat maar de staf was superlief en behulpzaam.

Deux nuits . Ressemble plus a un pension de famille qu'a un hôtel. Les parties communes sont vieillotes et les équipements de la chambre sont très limités: pas de poubelle, pas d équipement pour le café ou le thé, 4 ceintres... Un petit dejeuner copieux et frais et une hôtelière communicative ne suffisent pas à justifier un prix si élevé.

If you are looking for a bog standard corporate hotel this is not the place for you however if you are looking for an hotel with character and very helpful staff try this out. We were greeted by the manager who, on seeing that we were on motorbikes, very kindly opened her garage for us to store them overnight. The rooms, reached by a steep winding staircase, are a bit tired and could do with a revamp but they are clean and comfortable, as were the beds. The WiFi was good in both the rooms and the public areas. The bar was welcoming and the breakfast was very good indeed. The location was excellent, one canal away from the centre. If passing through again I would definitely stay here again.

I booked this hotel based on the high ratings at Hotels.com, but unfortunately my experience didn’t quite match the expectations those reviews created. The building is noticeably worn out and in need of renovation. There is no elevator, and the only way up is via steep, narrow, winding staircases that require real caution when carrying luggage or simply moving between floors. The rooms are extremely poorly soundproofed. It was so noisy that it often felt as if other guests were standing inside my room when they where in the hallway or in their room. Breakfast is frequently described as very good in the reviews, but I found the selection quite limited. There was only white bread and very few options that could be considered a healthy breakfast. It felt more like a minimal offering than something worth highlighting. What I want to highlight is the location — it’s excellent, with convenient parking options all around. The host and staff were also genuinely friendly, welcoming, and service‑minded, which made the stay more pleasant despite the shortcomings. Overall, the hotel’s high rating feels misleading. With some improvements, it could be a charming place, but in its current state it doesn’t live up to the praise it receives online.
