My recent 12 days stay at the San Diego Country Estates was an absolute gem. Though it's not your typical hotel, this vacation rental had me completely smitten with its unique charm and offerings. Tucked away just a short 15-minute drive from the city of Ramona and about 50 minutes from the airport, the location strikes a perfect balance between convenience and peaceful seclusion. From the moment my family stepped in, the spacious rooms welcomed us with open arms, providing a cozy retreat after our day's adventures. But what truly stole the show were the incredible amenities at hand. The inviting swimming pool, well-maintained tennis courts, and the entertaining billiards and gaming room kept us thoroughly engaged and entertained when we're back to the point we don't want to leave to see other attractions. However, the highlight of our stay had to be the ingenious swimming pool movie nights. Picture this: watching a movie while floating under the stars in the pool – an experience that felt nothing short of magical. The warmth and friendliness of the entire team, including the folks at the front desk (Ana in particular), added a personal touch that made the experience feel like home. Despite it not being your run-of-the-mill hotel, the level of service easily rivaled some of the best in the business. As I checked out, I couldn't help but start plotting my return. The San Diego Country Estates will undoubtedly be my go-to haven for future visits to San Diego.

Super clean, updated, comfortable, well stocked kitchen... wonderful area... pool and outdoor patio area were great, didn't use the tennis courts this time but looked superb, fitness room was excellent. Nothing not to like about this resort!

parking, at times is difficult to find an opening

This is our home away from home. It has all the comforts of home. Facilities and staff are wonderful. The Spa is an added bonus!

This was a great place to stay with so many options for fun and entertainment. We only stayed a few days but enjoyed our time there. If you're looking for a great low-key place with family fun this is a good choice. Yes, there are some outdated things in it like the radios but overall its nice and the beds were comfortable. We watched the prettiest sunset from the pool on our second night. Highly Recommend!

Very dated, hall carpet was stained in Bldg 6 upstairs. Nice pool and rec room. Nice park across the street.

It was okay we needed a room with a kitchen and this one was comfortable enough for a family of 5. Is far from everything, is old, most of the accessories from the kitchen are very cheap and old and they don’t work. Don’t even try to blend something in the blender they have. Lol. You can smell the weed from other people smoking in their rooms, and is a very old building. But they have a decent gym, and a pool also washer an dryer so you can wash your towels and clothes when need to. Make sure to bring coffee, filters and everything you need they will not provide that, the tv is not smart so if you are expecting to watch Netflix, etc you won’t be able to. Overall it was an okay stay.

Visited family in the area, loved the activities and amenities available to us. Great to have a washer and dryer as well as a nicely equipped kitchen.

Beautiful grounds. The only complaint I have is that it smelled a little musty like maybe there is mildew or mold somewhere. My kids smelled like it every time we left the room.

Not cleaned thoroughly found someone's medication in the freezer and toilets were backed up. Both showers backed up as well

Bathtub dirty with soap suds and crud, toilet did not flush, noisy room could hear the upstairs walking, talking and tv sound. Kitchen cabinets needs replacing or repair. Nice area too bad that my room was in such disrepair.

It was super clean and nicely decorated. The grounds were well maintained and beautiful.

Large bedroom, full washer/dryer, full stove/fridge, fireplace. Very comfortable bed. It was a great experience and room to relax. If you cook, you might want to bring you own knifes. The outside areas are gorgeous.

The size of the actual rooms was amazing. Very cozy and beautiful. Nice and quiet with a couple of great amenities. I wish I would have brought a couple of things for the full kitchen.

This is a very nice property. However, I was in a hurry when checking in and I did not inspect our unit ahead of time as I had an appointment to get to. When we returned, I was dismayed to recieve a downstairs unit which I generally do not want to stay in due to people stomping overhead and because the front desk is only open until 5pm I could not change rooms. This time was no different. There were people stomping overhead until very late and thruout the night. The walls are very thin and the doors do not seal so noise was a problem. The party across the hall were up at 4 am talking loud and going in and out which woke us all up. I had to go out into the hall and ask them to be quiet. The entrance to the unit was in a hallway that was all tile with nothing to buffer the sound so all the noise echoed thru the whole hallway. Maybe an upper unit would have made a difference? Who knows. I do have to say that the front desk people were really great, check in was easy with good communication prior to our arrival. The property is very nice and clean and the unit had everything you need to feel at home and be able to cook meals, do laundry in unit, etc. Very nice. Beds were fairly comfy but definitely have a "sway". All in all it was a nice stay but I just don't appreciate being woken up at 4am. Unfortunately, no fault to the staff or the property, I doubt I would stay here again.

Clean, spacious rooms.

The unit was super clean, kept up and decorated well with nice and comfortable furniture. The appliances were clean but very old (15-20 yrs old?) and over-used looking. Especially the coffee maker and toaster. We could hear the people in the unit above us walking around until 1AM and could also hear noise traffic in the hall. We were there to spend time with family so we didn't utilize the ammenities. Overall a good stay but not stellar for the price.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit. It was perfect for 4 adults. Plenty of room. The kitchen was stocked with dishes. We would certainly stay here again. The only down side, lots of stairs from the parking lot to our unit on the second floor.

Very big and spacious area. Perfect for our big family

Only dislike was that the reservation area was not open for very long or early enough in the morning. But they did provide a lock box for later arrivals.

The front staff were very polite and welcoming. The rooms were very clean.

The room was wonderful. But trying to figure out how to check in was hard. The directions were confusing. And there was nothing about a $100 deposit required at check in. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.

Everything was great. They made late check-in super easy. Will be using them again.

Check-in time was limited to 30 minutes in the afternoon. We had to come back to the office twice to complete registration.

The places is peaceful and quite clean and it has everything you can need the only thing if you want groceries there is a mini mart close by but everything else is kind of far 20 to 30 for a bigger store or more options for food they do have a pizza places near by and it’s pretty good me and my family love this places is so beautiful near the mountains and green everywhere

It was a quiet home away from home experience. My 3 teens loved it becaus eof the ameneties and all the activities available. At the end of day while out during the day exploring the city, my children would ask to "go home already" They rather come back to our room and enjoy the comfort and quiet. Its a long ways from the city. You should prepare to drive for at least 20 min before you can get through the community. We used a car rental so had no problem putting in the miles.

Very quiet area.

This was our 5th or 6th time staying here. It may not be a fancy resort but everything is just right! We love the location and the drive. It's perfect for a family vacation or adult fun with serval wineries nearby.

Great accommodations if looking for something away from the busy city. Good hikes near by. An hour from the ocean. Close to San Diego Zoo Safari.

This property is awesome! Huge, clean rooms. Great staff and great location! Only thing is warn people about is how far away the property is from any kind of stores so just prepare for that.

The property was wonderful. We definately will be staying here again. It's a little far out from town, but well worth it. The place was very clean and the staff was wonderful.

The condo was great! So spacious and it had the amenities we were looking for. We didn’t realize it was in the mountains, so the drive up & down daily was a surprise. However, the mountains make for great scenery

This is a very nice Prop. Dont forget to bring food and drinks.and things to BBQ. Its a little hard to find in the dark. Its not a room but an apartment with a full kitchen and dining room. With the roll out couch bed, there is plenty of room for four. will book again Thanks San Diego County Estates.
