Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Rome

Well. Didn’t like the fact the bar and restaurant was closed. Felt like it was over priced. 8$ for a continental breakfast wasn’t what I was expecting. Overall stay was average.

The building on the inside is incredibly beautiful, and had a lot of cool things to check out such as a restaurant and spa. When we checked in, the staff was super friendly and even gave us a free upgrade to a suite, just because there weren’t many guests at the time. You can walk around downtown Rome from this hotel, and it’s right by the river. I’d definitely come back to this hotel and stay again.

Had an average stay. The staff were friendly and helpful BUT the hotel literally ran out of food! We went to breakfast one morning and were told that there was no butter, half and half, potatoes, and multiple other items listed on the menu. The bar was also out of many things. Disappointing for what we paid.

I didn't like paying $10 to park on top of the almost $200 for the room.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past and loved it. We still love its charm and old time feel. The location, the amenities - gym and breakfast are wonderful. However, the room we were booked was not. It was like a cave. It had a window, that had curtains and was frosted, but it looked out to the dark hallway, not outside. In addition, the shower was half size. It was also noisy outside the room as it was right next to the elevator. For the cost, it was not worth it this time. We will stay at some of the other downtown hotel next time we visit family in Rome GA.

Loved having a bar in the hotel. The bar staff are great. It's a nice place to gather with friends.

The only issue was parking as in hard to find and also website said free but then upon arrival told it is $10’s. Besides that my friend and I were fascinated by how charming this little space is. So well arranged and fits right in with the charm of Tome.

I love the location and the original price. I was disappointed that I was charged a parking fee everyday. I did not like the hidden charges.

On site restaurant was delicious. Spa services were great. Very unique hotel, clean and nice.

I always stay here when I need a hotel in Rome. It’s convenient and has lots of amenities. Bed is comfortable and sheets and pillows have that clean smell. Carpet in the hotel is getting a bit dated but not in a gross way. It will always be my first choice of hotels in Rome.

This property was very unique in that it is formerly an old warehouse. The brick walls, original machinery and old furniture gave it an historical feel. The facility was very clean; however, the carpet and rooms need an ugrade.The restaurant had an inviting feel and resembled an old speak easy. We were disappointed that the greenery on the second and the third floors had not been maintained and was no longer in place. It one of the things that drew us to choose the Hawthorne. Overall, our stay was pleasant and there are several nice neeting rooms, lounge areas and a gym. Our biggest disappointment that there was no greenery as shown on the website pictures.

Stayed just before Christmas. Occupancy was cut back. Hotel is clean and staff very helpful and accommodating. Some of the chairs need to be replaced. We had a view of the river and small balcony. Gkids enjoyed the stay

Was amazing! Except the balcony is unusable due to the spider webs. I walked out and was attacked my spider webs in my hair. I asked them to deal with the webs -they did but the next day and everyday I couldn’t use it because of the spider webs. My 5 year old neice had to be told ‘no’ because I was afraid she may get bit by a spider. I asked for a ‘river view’ after the lights in my couch suite didn’t work and it just screamed OLD! There is no view of the ‘river’ due to the massive amount of trees blocking the view. One day the housekeeping staff caught me as I was leaving thru the side entrance and asked if I needed anything? I said washcloths. When I returned the washcloths were on the kitchen sink and the dirty towels were still on the floor and the bed was unmade. Not sure why that happened. I guess in my haste to leave I was supposed to tell her everything I expected. the bar was never open and I felt like I paid for a faux hotel experience. The only benefit was the idea of a almost 5 star hotel.

This hotel is great!! It's clean and comfortable. The front desk staff is always very pleasant. The towels, bedding, bed, and toiletries are all nice. It's definitely one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. The location is perfect as it's in downtown and near the River Walk. I've stayed 3 times and will no doubt stay here again. The front desk staff are excellent/very helpful. Property is quaint/historic. However, the cleaning staff often forget to replace used items. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning to stay in Rome, Ga. Remember to be kind; everyone is very friendly/helpful when approached.

Bathroom was dirty, rooms need updating.

Super nice staff! Hotel parking is an issue, unless you don't mind climbing over a concrete partition. Our room was spacious and clean (except mirrors in bathroom had lots of hairspray buildup on them and some washcloths/towels had "grungy stains" on them). Worse part of our nightly stay was dealing with lots of traffic noise due to loud vehicles racing around downtown roadsways, alleyways & parking garages.

Not sure if I had new towels that were not washed before putting in the bathrooms but they smelled like wet dogs I got out of the shower and the towels smelled bad. Then I felt like I smelled like the towels. Front desk response was “ok. Sorry”. Did not seem too empathetic or let me know they will find out what happened. I did not like paying for parking.

The property had character, not your normal concrete hotel. The hotel looks to have been a renovated warehouse. Our room was exceptionally large and had several good views.

The location was great, and the room was very spacious.

I feel like the price was a little high, considering the fact your facility was older. Walls were too thin (our neighbors TV was right by our bed, we figured out, and they stayed up very late!).

Previous stay we had a room with windows & was quiet . This time - no windows, dark room & noisy !! Right over the bar . Not happy

Room 100 should not be a room for OVERPAYING CUSTOMERS. It looks out into a sitting room with the freeway within arms reach. Sou dedlike we weresleeping beside the interstate. Only room on that side on ground floor. I spoke others and no one paid the high price that I paid. I will not be back. Stayed there 6 years ago and loved it. Very unsatisfied with my stay. One couple stayed 4 night for the same price I paid for 2 nights.

Very nice place and great staff. Built in old structure some of the floors are uneven and odd footing. Water pressure could be better and tad hotter

Skylight is horriblyplaced over the bed; the shade machine is so loud that if anyone uses it in the middle ofthe night it can be heard in other rooms and wakes you up 5. Wifi login never worked 6. No one was ever at the front desk to speak to 7. Hotel advertises breakfast but there isn't and there are no options given. 8. Everything close by doesn't open until after 9am so finding breakfast is hard 9. Old carpets that felt sticky and dirty to walk in 10. Very tiny bathroom that touches the toilet when you open the door 11. Drop in bath system 12. VERY outdated rooms 13. Advertises a kitchen but has no utensils 14. Paid an extra fee to check in early @ 1pm; however couldnt check in until 2:30pm and still had to pay the extra fee

Room 100 needs to be deleted from the room list!! The traffic was horrible all night and could not get sleep!! Make it a storage room!! I don’t think the hotel was full and we should have never been given the room. The staff has had multiple complaints about the room traffic noise.

Room & property were clean and in the perfect location! There were so many things close by, just a 2-10 minute walk away as well as a nice little path by the river. My only complains would be that the pillows on the bed were SO uncomfortable, to the point where my neck was almost completely stiff by the end of our stay, the couch was very stiff & uncomfortable also, there were no silveware of any kind and we had a suite with a kitchenette so that would have been much appreciated. Aside from those things though, this was a great stay and very welcoming staff. I would stay were again, just with my own pillow! stuff,

A great overnight stop. Joy, at the front desk was so friendly and welcoming. We requested a nice, quiet room and that is just what we got! The balcony overlooking the water gave a nice view, too bad it wasn't a little warmer to enjoy sitting out there. Room was clean, bed and pillows comfortable. Easy to walk to restaurants for dinner. Had several choices within 5 minute walk. Also some cute shops. Felt very safe walking around in the evening. Destiny in the bar was a delight. Enjoyed our nightcap with her.

Nice hotel and staff is friendly but was charged double for a breakfast that wasn’t even worth paying anything for. Spoke to two different people about being charged twice and they were not helpful and the overcharge was never fixed.

Everytime I stay there I get some kind of charge on my bill they can't explain. Last time they said it was a transportation fee. I didn't understand because I was not transported anywhere. The time before that nobody could explain why there was an extra $27 fee on my bill. And they wouldn't take it off even though they could explain what it was for.

Very pleasant stay at a lovely hotel. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if there's a need to overnight in Rome, GA.

My wife and I needed a little "escape from reality" for the weekend. Between careers and other responsibilities, we usually only have the occasional weekends for just us. We had talked about staying at the Hawthorn before since it is close to home and has a good bit to see within walking distance, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did. The staff is amazing, and the hotel itself is beautiful. My wife and I enjoyed walking up and down Broad Street and checking out the shops and restaurants. After our exploring, we finished off the night with a nightcap at the well-stocked hotel bar, where I had a pleasant conversation with who I assume is a manager (I never asked his role) about various high-end bourbons. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly, which is a rare thing these days. The Hawthorn will now be a regular "escape" destination for us.

Very convenient location for all of th3 shops & restaurants on Broad St. All of the staff were kind and welcoming, we just felt like part of the family. We'll definitely stay again!

We were put in a room that had no window in an old part of the building. When we called down to change rooms the lady at the front desk said, yes, I did place you in a crappy room, if you bring all your luggage down, I’ll place you in a new room with a Riverview. This was at 12 AM and the men in front of us had just been placed in a Riverview room. We had to take all our luggage back downstairs, we were really tired after driving in from the Atlanta airport, and I had a child with me. We then had to take all of our luggage up to a totally different part of the hotel and found out we were put In a Riverview room, that had a view of a bridge on a very busy street so all we could hear was street noise the entire night. The first two nights we could hear TVs blasting from rooms. The walls are very thin. The cleaning ladies did not make the bed every day. They would come in and take clothes that were on the floor and throw them on the bed. But then not make the bed. The carpet in the room were worn and especially in the hall were dirty and covered in stains. After the fourth night of not being able to sleep because of the traffic noise, we asked to move down the hall to a room that was quiet. Then the hotel charged us $70 extra night to be in the exact same room, same bed size, just five doors down. so then we had to deal with that invoice. I would not recommend staying here. There is a new Marriott on the river that has exact same access to Broad Street. Stay there instead

I’ve stayed twice this year and both times I have nothing but good things to say. Staff is nice and helpful and the downtown area is right there with great restaurant and entertainment options

Close to everything to do in Rome! Great location!

Check in was the best I have ever had very knowledgeable and efficient. Lots of dining opportunities with in walking distance. They have loaner bikes if you care to go for a ride which I did.

The Hawthorn is a beautiful, old building in downtown Rome. It is in the perfect location, in walking distance to many shops, restaurants and bars. It's also just a quick drive to the Barry College Tennis Center.

Really cool hotel next to River and restaurants in Rome. Historic building that has been renovated into hotel. Easy walk to main strip and rivers in Rome.

This is a great hotel overall… very different and unique. The staff was wonderful too. My only critique would be the breakfast…it could be improved. But other than that it was a great experience !

This is what hotels used to offer! Such a great ambiance with some old times flare! This hotel has a lot to offer! The location cannot be beat! The staff were extremely friendly. The breakfast was delicious. So many rooms to hang out in if you don’t want to hang out in your own room or are meeting friends. The room was culturally l comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our view of the river. The building has quite a bit of history. Lots of little touches in the room and beautiful, rich decor.

Great location. Walking distance to the downtown strip. Off Broad restaurant/bar was very good.

Very nice place, room was neat and well stocked. The only negatives were noise from the downtown traffic and that there was no complimentary breakfast. The buffet was $8.56.

While the room was clean and comfortable, the shower had the lowest pressure I have ever seen. Which may have been a blessing because I saw a story on how Rome has an issue with PFAS chemicals in their water from the paper / carpet mills. The bathroom could use more shelving and hooks for towels and wash cloths. The Breakfast was a great value at $7 a plate. Typical buffet fare. However, the turkey sausage was AWFUL! Has a "Plastic" taste to it. Other than that, I'd stay there again.
