Spray Beach Oceanfront Hotel

Did not like the pool area at all. Price was way too high for a motel

This is the perfect beach-front hotel for anyone. The hotel is clean, steps from the beach, has a lovely heated pool and hot tub, and a good on-site restaurant. Will definitely come back and recommend it to others.

Pool water did not look clean .. should be flushed out more frequently .. great location / restaurant and staff .. just the pool was the issue .. also need to be sure others are not using their parking lot to access the beach / limited # of spots at this property .. I personally saw ppl parking and walking to the beach on more than one occasion as I looked for a spot (as a guest of this hotel)

The room and the lobby were both very nice and very clean. The biggest issues are parking is an absolute nightmare and the check in time isn’t until 4pm. They do not issue parking passes and parking is first come first served so if you arrive a little late or there’s a big event happening nearby you’re going to have a hard time finding anywhere to leave your car.

Directly on the beach. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Water in the pool was heated. Would have been perfect if the restaurant was still open.

Great location. We could walk to the beach from our hotel room. Hose and foot wash right off the boardwalk. Beach chairs and body boards included with stay. Pool was great. Just a great place to stay

Overall, a good spot. Can't beat the location being right on the beach. Have stayed here before and will stay here again. Two complaints: 1. For over $500 per night, room cleaning is only available by request. When checking in, told you have to call by 11 AM to request your room cleaned. We called, but no one came. It was 4:45 PM, and we had to call again to get clean towels to shower for the evening. Yes, someone came to bring us towels then in a timely manner, but again, for over $500 you should be able to get your room freshened up. Bed, towels, garbage. I had to dump our hotel garbage can outside myself. I'd argue that most people are in their rooms at that 5PM-ish time getting ready for dinner, etc so cleaning that late makes no sense. 2. The pool is heated. Too heated. If its 80/85/90+ degrees outside, by the afternoon hours being in the sun, the pool is bath warm. Not even refreshing. Save the hotel the money and turn off the heater.

Oceanfront and perfectly situated with a great staff and heated pool with hot tub. Couldn’t ask for more.

We were really looking forward to our beachside stay at this hotel, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of our expectations. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find that our room was not in the main hotel building, but in one of the side buildings, which felt misleading based on how the property is presented online. The condition of the room was disappointing. The floors were so dirty that the bottoms of our feet turned black after just a few minutes of walking around. The room itself was also much smaller than it appeared in the photos on the website. To make matters worse, some of the fresh towels provided had visible red stains of blood. When we brought this to the front desk’s attention, their response was surprisingly indifferent—no apology or concern was shown. The room also had poor ventilation with no fan in the bathroom so after a shower, the whole room felt wet and damp. That said, there were several positives about our stay. The pool was great, the on-site restaurant was enjoyable, and the proximity to the beach was excellent. Those amenities helped make parts of our trip enjoyable. Still, the condition and cleanliness of the room made the overall experience feel disappointing—especially since we were traveling with a two-year-old and ended up spending more time in the room than others might. If you don’t plan to spend much time in your room, the stay could still be enjoyable, but for those who do, it’s worth considering these issues before booking.

The shower was dirty and had wads of hair on the wall and drain. The older air conditioner was unable to keep up after anyone showered so it was unbearably hot and humid.

Spray Beach Hotel is a great place to stay, right on the beach restaurant and bar on site also. Rooms were modern and super clean and comfortable staff was friendly and helpful. Pool area was also very clean. Also beach tags were provided which was super convenient. I would recommend Spray Beach to anyone and will definitely stay here again next year.

We were put in a building across the street. Hotel would not move us to main building. Ants in room.

Overall was a great experience. There are stairs all over to get to the lobby, pool, ocean , and parking lot. The room smelled musty and the a/c vents were dusty. Once in the room we became immune to it. All surfaces were clean however the carpets were stained. Bedding and towels were clean and comforting. I would stay here again. The view of the ocean was amazing!

I would not recommend this hotel. The staff is completely unaccommodating, rude and disrespectful. Everything from check-in and check out was disappointing. The property is right on the beach which is very convenient but the pool is very small and not kept clean.

Sounded like someone was moving furniture in the next room and we had an ant problem on the last day Coming from under the floorboard in the bathroom

The rooms are clean but small, barely passable between the beds and the desk/refeigerator/wardrobe. Parking was easy enough and I didn’t have any issue finding somewhere to park each day. There is no ventilation in the bathrooms so the rooms get to a warm, humid tropical climate after using the shower. I couldn’t find an ice machine anywhere in the inland building which isn’t ideal for the beach in mid-July. There’s also no elevator on the inland building so don’t book those rooms if you plan on taking a heavy suitcase or are someone not comfortable using stairs.

Great hotel right on the beach! Rooms were modern and spacious…lots of onsite parking. The pool wasn’t open when we were there and the website said it was, that was the only bummer as the kids wanted to swim. The hotel offered complimentary beach chairs and boogie boards. Very close to Bay Village and lots of wonderful restaurants. All around, a great hotel!

The property is located right on the beach. They have a restaurant & pool as well. The cost for a king bed and sleeper sofa was over 500 per night beachfront and the room is very small. I realize that’s the avg price for summer rentals in LBI but for the size it would be tough if you had a family of four or more. LBI has gotten so expensive. The days of going down the shore with the family will be tough for a lot of ppl. Taxes and the cost of insurance is the main reason for this and it’s frustrating that NJ lawmakers aren’t trying to fix this major problem. Get it together TRENTON!!

Loved the location and renovated rooms

We liked our stay here a lot. If you want to see the ocean and beach, request higher floors. We were on the 2nd floor and we were eye level with the sand dunes. Our carpet was dirty and didn’t seem to dry but it was so humid , I understand this to be normal.

Great Beach front hotel just be aware that 1st floor hotel rooms do not have ocean views. The dunes block the view of the ocean.

Great hotel. But 1st floor “oceanfront”is not oceanfront it is in front of sand dunes and you can not see any ocean. They shouldn’t say oceanfront if you can not see any ocean.

The staff was excellent at this hotel. They were friendly and responsive. I was familiar with this hotel and thought it would be average at best. But the renovations were superb. The room felt like it belonged at the beach but was modern and well appointed. I would recommend this hotel.

Beautiful views of the ocean from the third floor. The property was very clean and fresh. Our room was newly remodeled and modern. The bed was extremely comfortable and the air conditioning worked excellent. The hotel restaurant Drift was delicious and the service was spectacular- especially Anthony.

We were asked when we arrived how often we wanted the room cleaned. We said every day. It was “cleaned” the second day we were there and then never again. By “cleaned” I mean our beds were made and trash was taken. That’s it. There was no cleaning done. We asked the woman at the front several times and nothing happened. The trash can in the room is tiny. Out trash piled up and piled up and it was never taken out again. The older woman at the front desk answers any question in a condescending manner. Like we’re bothering her. There was a very nice man the night we arrived but we never saw him again

This was our fourth trip to LBI, and our first staying at Spray Beach. Loved the location. Plenty of parking on site. The amenities like complimentary beach chairs and boogie boards made packing much easier than going to other locations. Any problems we faced were quickly remedied by the attentive staff. Would highly recommend.

I booked this for my wife and 2 year old daughter to have a fun weekend while I stayed home to take care of my newborn son. My wife was not happy upon arrival because they overbooked the hotel and my wife and daughter had to stay at the motel across the street. This made it very hard for her to go to the pool and use the amenities of the hotel. When she approached the front desk at checkin, the hostess was very unprofessional and made no effort to help.

Perfect stay, 10/10. So convenient every step of the way - easy check in, beach access, quality of the restaurant/bar, every single staff member we encountered was so helpful and friendly, rooms are beautiful, comfy bed, spacious, all the amenities you could ever need, walking distance to so many attractions/restaurants. Highly recommend and will always choose to stay here in LBI!

They wouldn’t store luggage after check out so you could enjoy the beach that day. They did not provide beach towels. Front desk staff was not very friendly or eager to be helpful. No complimentary water. Had to pay for coffee and tea that was provided in the lobby. The restaurant in the property was excellent. Great food, service and atmosphere.

The ocean spray beachfront hotel was clean. The staff was nice. The restaurant was good proximity to the beach was excellent for the price I made for a great stay.

Property has been updated since I last stayed there. Good updates but price has also gone up which isn't great.

The location was perfect, the room was clean and comfortable. Beach access was fantastic as was the restaurant and bar location. Recommended to friends for future stays!

The restaurant and out side bar wall closed. No warning on the hotel website about opening after Father’s Day. The rates were very high for a partially open hotel.

The fact that a restaurant and bar are advertised as part of the hotel it was unfortunate to arrive there to be told they had closed it as of Labor Day. And no extended checkout( not even until 12) is allowed. However there are changing rooms and a shower and bathroom available. It’s great that beach chairs and boogie boards are available. Otherwise it’s a great place to vacation with family and friends.

The property is great. Excellent location having the ocean right there and a pool in front. Very family friendly. Major disappointment was that the restaurant and bar were closed!! I was told they closed it after Labor Day. It would have been nice to know that before I arrived.
