Travelodge by Wyndham Williamsburg Colonial Area

This is not a bad property in a pinch. There are a lot of residents living there. At times it felt a little seedy. The rooms are ok. Beds are a bit hard. Only get three pillows for a King bed. Asked for more. Never got it. Ice machine doesn’t work in winter. Sent next door to Red Roof to get ice.

I was horribly upset with our experience here. It looked nothing like the photos. The pool was completely inoperable (it actually had a plant growing in the middle of it), which was immediately frustrating because my kids specifically asked to stay at a place that had a pool. The system was down and therefore the WiFi wasn’t operating until the next morning when I was checking out. The cleaniness was almost laughable. The stairs smelled horribly. We weren’t comfortable using the microwave or the refrigerator. The air vents were all covered in dust. The remote to the tv was broken. On top of everything else we were approached by a man in the parking lot that made my kids and I so uncomfortable that I waited to get any belongings out of my vehicle. The receptionist seemed like she was trying to be helpful when we went to check in but gave zero information about where the room was, parking, WiFi, anything at all really. If it hadn’t already been 930 at night after a soccer tournament and had kids that just needed to sleep I would have left as soon as we parked/finally found the room and had the initial handful of issues. As an adult in customer service management, I try my best to be forgiving & understanding because things happen sometimes that aren’t easy to manage or control. However, this was a terrible experience, to say I would never return, with or without my children is an understatement.

Ice machine out of order. Room was filthy. Bed my hisbamd and i put our todfler ti sleep in was covered in cheetos, pubic hair, multiple large stains and several used kleenex in the sheets!!! Bathroom walls were filthy, cracked and holes in bathroom ceiling. I requested a new room they said they were sold out we could change the sheets OURSELVES or check out immediately (at almost midnight with a 2yr old sick child) and receive a refund. No one even came to pick up the disgusting lines from outside our door. Not even an apology really. Very cold short and dismissive. I asked if for the conditions, inconvenience and lack of a real resolution if i was able to get a credit or portion of credit for an additional nights stay and they firmly denied my request. Simply said there is nothing they do to "make it right" per say. Besides offer immediate check out with refund...when i called office to place complaint, as instructed i promptly came down to office and showed my picture and video documentation. I was handed a stack of super oversized flat sheets and one thin white blanket, no gloves, no bag to put it in. And no help from staff at all

Other than the god awful smell in the elevator everything else was pretty good! The room was clean and smelt nice, the staff were extremely helpful ! The parking was good too. The only thing I wish they didn’t do was have the door open with a chair for when I got there. I was Nervous someone had been inside.

Booked for one king bed, but I'm not sure whether that's even a type of room they actually have here. The first room we were given had not been cleaned (beds unmade), so we asked for another room and were given one, which smelled musty but at least had clean sheets. There's also not enough parking if all the rooms are full (it was Homecoming weekend). Staff was nice about giving us a new room though.

The room was clean, but they said there was a pool and there was no pool. We also had no shower curtain.

It was basically like staying in the motel from My Name is Earl, complète with defunked pool.

We love to stay at Travelodge on Capitol Landing. Clean rooms, easy parking, easy to get in and out and close to Busch Gardens. We will be back to stay here again next month for Christmas Town.

My overall stay was great! This was not my first time staying. When i came before we had access to breakfast and a pool right on site. However, this time although the website said these two selections were available they actually werent. Which is ok, but that was the main reason why we booked there.

The front desk check in was nice, people very friendly, but we learned even tho breakfast was advertised they haven’t had it in over 3 yrs. We were still going to make do n went to the rooms and one smelled like weed very strongly. We were told it’s because it had been closed up and no other rooms were available and to let it air out. Then I was going to take the kids to the pool that was advertised to learn the pool is not operational. By this time I am on the phone trying to get a refund while searching on another phone for a hotel nearby. This not a good place. The tv didn’t even work in one room n kept coming off and on n was very loud so we unplugged the thing completely.

It’s the type of place that will give you ptsd about roaches on you at night. The carpets are so dirty they are sticky. And the paint is peeling on the tubs. I killed 20 roaches every morning just in the bathroom alone. Flies spawn out of seemingly nowhere. The staff was halfway decent but you can tell they been through it with the traffic through there. In the middle of nowhere next to a highway

Where do i start beds dirty and hard as a rock got bed bugs carpet so filthy our white socks were brown after walking across once we were there 4 nights no offer of new towels or toilet paper. Tried to ask for toilet paper and the office was locked. There was ceiling falling down on our bed

Loved the glue traps with 33 roaches stuck either dead or staring at me while I’m sleeping. Disgusting. Rm 431

This place is disgusting. It it a severely disgusting smell upon entrance of the room. Multiple areas of the room and bathroom had mold. Cigarette burns in blankets. Very sketchy area and people loitering. Overall highly disappointed and not what I expected for this area.

Got what i expected for the price. Bed and towels were clean but the rest of the room was not. The refrigerator was pretty gross.

Just horribly dirty.

Complete garbage hotel. Walked into a dirty room, beer caps on the floor. This is the absolute worst, and lowest level of hotel you can find. Avoid at all costs. Seriously, sleeping in your car would be far cleaner and safer.

The whole room was poorly maintained and dirty. We requested a non-smoking room and all you'd smell was smoke. I would not stay here again.

I like that the beds an pillows were confortable. The room was wide. I dislike that the coffee machine didn't work.

Exactly what I expect for a hotel, everything was clean and fresh and easy to check in.. elevator was a little sketchy, and the bed very firm but that’s a personal preference and didn’t affect my stay at all, would gladly stay again

Facility is located 10 minutes from the historic area. I booked here because it is a Wyndham property. Boy was i disappointed. Older building that cries for an update. Street view is pleasant, the remainder of the facility could use fresh paint. Stairwell/elevator dirty and smelly. Looks like transient people also reside/hang out here. It's a little sketchy.

We needed a place to sleep after the day at Busch Gardens. It was relatively clean with the exception of the refrigerator which was disgusting. There was food droplets and hair. There were also pieces to the shelves/freezer area just lying in the fridge. We did not use it. The other thing we didn't like was the uneasy feeling in the parking lot with people milling around...beer cans left on top of the fire extinguisher. My teenage son described it as "sketch". The beds were comfortable and the front desk people were polite.

My review is based off a couple things. One the check in process. I booked earlier in the week at a pay at property cause that’s just what works best for me. On the 3hr drive to get there I noticed the hotel trying to pull out money for the room. I called the hotel cause the payment didn’t go through since I had my card off and explained I was on my way and had selected pay at property. She told me no worries. I get there and they canceled my booking so check in took 30 minutes for them to fix the issue. For the price the room was decent. However, the beds are absolutely uncomfortable. The area was wonderful tho and this hotel has a tv where you could access Netflix so that was pretty much the only perk about this place. I wish the beds would have been nicer cause it would have made this trip even better. The rooms are a little out dated besides the tv. But if you don’t mind uncomfortable beds you’ll probably like this place.

We had an ok room. It was a rather old room. The refrigerator didn’t work, neither did the microwave or hair dryer. There was a slight moldy smell. We were only there for one night. However we had excellent customer service. The front desk help was great. The hotel is near the outlets and restaurants.

im glad i got my money back. they tried to tell me i never called to cancel the room but i did. had to get hotels.com involved the whole bit. they wanted to rip me off for 86.68. almost a hundred dollars. stay away. buyer beware.

We love staying at Travelodge! Clean room, budget friendly and so close to busch gardens. We love staying here that we just book our next BG trip for next month.

You get what you pay for. It’s cheap. Unsafe area. Someone knocking on our door at 7am. Ppl sitting in the stairwells. The family that owns the hotel sits out front like it’s the ghetto. Filthy rooms, smell like smoke.

Travelodge is our favorite place to stay every time we go to busch garden. Budget friendly, clean rooms, easy to get in and out. We are staying here again next month.

room was well taken care of. dodgy neighborhood. failed restaurant across the street and questionable personalities populate the area. No intrusive people, just not what most would be comfortable being near.

It was convenient, easy to get to shopping, restaurants, etc.

Rooms were not clean, smelled like cat pee, no pool or breakfast as stated in the pictures, seemed as the owner also lived there was very loud when trying to check in and then change rooms.

The area behind the Motel looked as if homeless was living there. They say they have a pool but they dont say its closed. Breakfast was suppose to come with the room and nothing was there. The women that checked me in was very nice but the motel wasnt nice.

This property was extremely filthy. all over. The advertisement said it had been remodeled in May 2025.Was not. Showed inside swimming pool was not. Showed had a free breakfast. Not true. Absolutely worst place to stay.

DO NOT BRING CHILDREN! Carpet was so filthy that our feet turned black. No staff at front desk and no one to answer phone before 8am. Huge lack of management and security. FALSE ADVERTISING: NO BREAKFAST BAR.
