Room was lovely quite a few cracks in the tiles in our bathroom and random hairs found in the shower but rooms was clean and such a good size for a family. Kids loved the pool and sitting round it on the loungers. Breakfast was really nice

Had a very good overnight stay. Room was very clean, good linens, comfy bed and modern bathroom. The breakfast was very nice and we sat out on the terrace. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Of course, the best part was the beautiful pool. A perfect temperature and very relaxing on the sun loungers.

We have stayed in a number of country house hotels in the UK. This one was similar to others - faded glory, with some awkward features not usually found these days in more modern hotels (e.g. over bath shower that when running switched between cold and hot without warning and had a stained curtain that looked like a health hazard and needs replacing). On the upside, the staff were friendly and helpful. However, overall the hotel had a feeling of neglect. It would benefit from a renovation and general spruce up!

This is our 3 or 4th visit to the Beechfield and we’ve returned because we love the building, pool and location. unfortunately we had a number of issues on this trip which can’t be overlooked. Staff on site were lovely but clearly stressed and struggling. No presence from the manager who was uncontactable. We arrived at 250pm but were told our room wouldn’t be ready for at least 40minutes. No complimentary drinks offered , no prior call or email to inform us (we would have arrived later). The bar had run out of lager. We stayed in the garden suite which has been recently refurbished but is in need of tlc. Shower curtain mouldy, toilet brush dirty, the toilet was coming away from the wall and leaking. There was a huge crack in the window which made it impossible to open. There was a wasps nest outside the window (it was dealt with within 24hrs) and plants in the small front garden all dead. The back garden overgrown with no loungers as advertised. Recycling in the room would have been good. Tea tray was budget. Breakfast outside is delightful but the selection was very limited. Upgrading cafeteria coffee to a flat white £5/coffee. After much effort we’ve been offered a partial refund . Our stay was now 11 days ago and this has yet to be actioned.
