Location and property were what we were looking for, room was nice and cleaned daily. We had a wait to get checked in as reception was not staffed when we arrived (5pm on a Friday). Later the same day we wanted something from the bar, again no staff. I had to ask the gentleman at reception to come over to help which he promptly did. As we were checking out there was a young lady at the desk, however she didn’t look up from the computer, didn’t enquire if we enjoyed the stay or required anything else before we left. Last point I would make is that there is no elevator within the building. My wife has a little trouble with mobility and two flights of stairs was challenging for her. If this information was more clearly mentioned I would have requested a room on the ground floor. However it is a nice place to stay, just a few tiny issues with minor problems.

Enjoyed our stay. Staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Comfortable clean room and really nice pool. Would stay here again. One note for hotel management: Staircase opposite front entrance that leads down to car park is in a poor state. Loose steps/slabbing. Trip hazard and it needs a handrail fitted.

Good value with the facilities pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, check in at 2pm check out at midday you get to enjoy the facilities twice after youve enjoyed a great breakfast. Well be back soon enough :-)

This hotel was lovely to stay in, the food was nice the rooms were clean and staff were lovely, it’s a shame the swimming pools wasn’t open but other then that was a nice stay.

We had a fabulous stay here, from the friendly check-in to the end of our stay. Everything was immaculately clean and the staff very friendly. The pool was a hit with adults and kids and the breakfast was fabulous. We look forward to returning and will definitely use Holiday Inns again.

As always the room, breakfast and staff were great. Unfortunately the pool was closed, the main reason we choose the hotel. It would have been nice to know before arrival which I think is reasonable as this would entail an email. We pay a premium to stay with this brand of hotel so expect a little more from them.

The rooms with the balcony are fantastic. We had to ask for an extra robe as the staff say you only get one per room which is strange to me with a pool etc. The only disappointing thing we have found while staying in the hotel over the last two weeks, is the temperature of the hot tub and the indoor pool. Both are cold and the chemical mix in the hot tub is not correct. We are staying again next month and we are hoping they will both be warmer or we will have to find alternative accommodation.

Receptionist overlooked that I had already paid and was going to charge me again, then apologised for his error, when he found my payment. Dirty cups in the bathroom with lipstick marks clearly visible on them. No vegetarian option at breakfast.

Hotel a bit tricky to find as post code on website didn’t match actual. Friendly service, nice bar with good choice , food decent and breakfast choice great! A few empty pizza boxes and pint glasses left in corridors and bldg a bit tired , pillows a bit hard, but overall pretty good. Staff pleasant

We stayed for 2 nights in a basic room and it was a good comfortable room. There was a sweet wrapper behind a chair for our whole stay that wasnt ours. The bathroom door wouldnt close and the toilet/bathroom fan didnt work. Dont rely on google maps to find it, we had to use what 3 words. The staff team were young and excellent! 5* for them.

I have stayed in this hotel several times but this time it seemed to have lost its edge. The lounge area was dirty with dust on the decorative shelves, and it all seemed shabby. My room (219) was ok, but nothing special. For the money i paid i would have expected a safe and a small refrigerator. There were two double beds and we used only one, but could not get comfortable as it had a double sized duvet and the most enormous ill fitting duvet cover i have ever seen. Consequently, everything felt loose and uncomfortable. My final moan is about the bathroom. The sink plug did not work and the sink did not hold water. Why had this not been reported by one of the cleaners? And finally, when are hotels going to put a safety grab handle on the wall above the bath. How do they expect elderly people who want to shower, to step into the bath safely without something to hold onto ? It defies belief, and where do you hang your towels after you have washed and dried yourself, there are no hooks anywhere ! Not good for a hotel that classifies itself as 4 star !

We had a 1 night stay on 27 Sept 24, which was excellent. Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Food was nice and we had breakfast saturday morning which was amazing in choice and quality. Check out was 12 oclock which was also lovely as we didn't need to rush around to leave. Will definitely return. PS. The windows for the whole hotel were filthy and need cleaning inside and out but that was the only gripe.

Last minute booking. Stayed in the room with two single beds and a double sofa bed. The double sofa bed was uncomfortable but other than was a lovely clean hotel. Staff were very friendly. Pool was a little disappointing as there was a small lane sectioned off for family and larger section for solo lane swimmers.

checked in and proceeded to go to my room and i walked into my room i found there was a girl already in my room, who was deeply upset by this. All the reception staff said was sorry. To make matters worse upon checkout i was asked to pay for my room even though i had pre paid

The staff at this hotel are superb! We had an eventful time on this trip. Our son fell very ill just prior to our arrival. We aren’t local and didn’t know where the hospital was. He needed immediate first aid when we arrived while we waited for an ambulance. A superbly trained staff member (Alex) came to our assistance immediately and took control of the situation until help arrived. He was fantastic. Both calm and skilled. I stayed with my son overnight in the hospital. My wife and daughter were so well looked after by every staff member they encountered back at the hotel. They were incredibly considerate. Thankfully my son was discharged late the next day. We returned to the Holiday Inn for an unplanned second night to recover from our ordeal before heading home. Service levels often make a huge difference when electing a hotel. This one is outstanding.

The food at the bar was distinctly average and not good value, bill had a service charge on which I was only told about when I queried the amount. I asked it to be removed as actually I had to go to the bar and order the food and drinks myself, there was no service!!??!!

Me and a friend stayed here to go to a gig at The Piece Hall in Halifax. The room was an absolute bargain at £89 for two including breakfast. Also the breakfast was something you just don't get with breakfasts these days in standard hotels, there was so so much choice I was in heaven the day after having a couple of beers! The place was clean and very spacious. Free parking is a bonus too nowadays! Only reason I marked down a star is because the listing states check-in is at 2pm however when we arrived they said it was actually 3pm but they couldn't change the Expedia listing. They did give us another room that was ready though, it just took about 20 minutes to check in and was a bit awkward.

Really nice hotel with very friendly staff. And it’s great to have use of the swimming pool. Breakfast was also good with lots of choice. The hotel is just off the motorway but you wouldn’t know it when you’re there because it's a lovely setting.

We stopped for one night while visiting family in the area. The hotel is clean and modern with friendly staff and excellent facilities. We didn't try them but the gym, pool and fitness facilities were busy. The location is good for a transpennine stop or visiting Surrounding towns

Last minute booking for gig at piece hall in Halifax. £11 uber each way. Clean, comfortable rooms. Missed breakfast, so cannot comment. Thanks to the staff for providing free bottles of water before the kitchen very early morning. Great touch, thanks

This is in a lovely location, and perfect for the M62. Our room was starting to look shabby now, especially the bathroom. I got locked in the bathroom due to the old lock, and all I got from the Manager was “sorry about that”. A 10 pound bar credit would have been a nice gesture! There was no ventilation in the bathroom, so apart from it been extremely hot when locked in, during showering, the walls and fittings are dripping with condensation. The Receptionist who checked us in was very pleasant.

Hotel a bit tricky to find as post code on website didn’t match actual. Friendly service, nice bar with good choice , food decent and breakfast choice great! A few empty pizza boxes and pint glasses left in corridors and bldg a bit tired , pillows a bit hard, but overall pretty good. Staff pleasant

Stayed here many of times, still one of the best hotels with great value. Welcoming staff as always. The housekeeping gentleman was lovely. The breakfast choices have everything you could think of. The cooked breakfast was piping hot. They now have a little indoor play area for the children. Maybe an outdoor one opposite to the gym entrance would make it absolutely perfect. Well done on being one of the best and continuing to improve.

My bedroom and bathroom were very clean but the wall space from the removed fridge was marked with scrapes and immediately drew attention to the gap. The swimming pool and changing area were clean but the breakfast restaurant was a bit messy in places with rubbish on the floor under the tables. The staff team were really friendly and helpful. The main negative I have was breakfast. I was there for three breakfasts and the things that were running out were not topped up automatically. Day one it was the fruit and yogurt station as well as the pastries. Day two was much better with a very attentive member of staff going above and beyond. Day3, Saturday was really bad. I had to ask for the fresh bread to be put out and later the pastries. The labels for the jams etc were on the side in a box. The team were more interested in showing each other stuff on their phones than checking whether everything was out and ready ( this was 7.30.not the start of service). In the end I gave up waiting for the pastries that apparently had only just been delivered and were now in the oven, I had a train to catch. So a disappointing end to three otherwise pleasant days.

Seemed really well staffed who were attentive and polite. Rooms are exactly what you would expect from a holiday inn - clean, functional and everything works. Breakfast always saves the day at holiday inn - super choice and replenished frequently.

The initial impression was very good and everything was clean and comfortable, but some small things were irritating. There was only poor quality instant coffee in the room and no herbal teas (would have liked peppermint and/or camomile at least). There were no signs to the pool (and regrettably I didn’t get round to asking). I ate in the bar once but was disappointed. The fish pie was stodgy - more mash than fish or sauce - and nowhere near enough vegetables. There were very few TV channels accessible - not even decent news.

Have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the past couple of years but this wasn't my best stay. Have to say the staff are a credit to the hotel, and are always as helpful as possible. A couple of small niggles - no vegetarian options for crisps, a much reduced portion size at dinner, coffee machine not functional at breakfast. Wouldn't book a premium room again, but will be back.

A large Holiday Inn in the countryside around 10 miles from Leeds. Free outside parking but on a steep hill so had to haul loggage up the steps. Well laid out traditional Holiday Inn; booked in quickly. Standard room with Aircon and usual facilities. Had evening bar snack meal which was good. Dodnt have time to try the amenities. Overall a higher end 3 star hotel

Convenient location, ample parking. Room was fine, shower a little under-pressured. Arrived to find the room still needed a 3rd bed making up. Offered to pay on check in, but was brushed off. On check out late morning, no staff to be found anywhere near reception - I'm guessing they were all faffing about over the wedding that was being setup in the courtyard. Left the key cards behind the counter. My credit card was billed for an incorrect amount +£30. Having to sort this via lengthy customer service process. Disappointed.
