A great hotel to stay in Hampshire. Lovely place with great gardens and outdoor areas. You can go for a walk and see the amazing gardens or play tennis or just relax by the outdoor pool if the weather permits. There is a small but very clean gym as well as an I door pool and you can enjoy the spa. Thou can have dinner at the restaurant or at bar lounge which has a great atmosphere. The breakfast is great with fresh food to choose from as well as plenty of options for continental. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. There are charging points for electric car if you want. Our daughter loved exploring the gardens and run around. There also some board games that you can use. She also have a pleasant surprise at our room. Very kids friendly! Note: our room didn’t have a fridge but can’t comment about other rooms not at the main hall/building. .

Very nice property. Great tennis courts. Ok fitness. Good food. Great pools. Improvements: 1: bad internet. 2: no aircondition makes the second floor rooms too hot to stay in when the weather is hot. We changed to a first floor room with better possibilities for opening the windows. 3: Strange tea and coffee service at breakfast. Everyone including us were typically waiting 15-20 minutes from ordering coffee to getting a cup. That’s way too long time. Tylney: please make a different setup

Stayed here with my pregnant wife for one night with friends. Staff were especially friendly and helpful. Oliver at concierge, Della at the spa and Sophie in the restaurant were all really fantastic. Stayed in a Garden Room which was slightly away from the main building. It was modern, cosy and clean. Only a short walk to the main building. Concierge can drive you if needed too. Main building more classic in appearance and decor, but cosy and warm. Food was excellent. Indoor pool and changing room could do with a bit of an update, but still lovely to have. Wife’s spa treatment was lovely, but area could be modernised. Really lovely stay, thank you Tylney Hall

Really great stay. Lovely grounds, rooms and facilities. Some areas a bit neglected like changing rooms (none of the soaps were filled, staff said they were broken for weeks) and games room. Mostly the staff were amazing but a couple a bit grumpy as the hotel was busy. Had to wait outside our room for over 20 minutes as they'd cancelled our key card early. Overall great and we would go back.

Had an amazing stay with 5 friends. We all had free room upgrades, which was a bonus. It's such a beautiful building and grounds and the staff a lovely. The jacuzzi was a bit cold.

Very beautiful grounds. Old and majestic property. Service at the pool was quite slow, otherwise adequate. Servers were friendly. Would have enjoyed it more with air conditioning. Our room while nice was very warm

I think the grounds were lovely and the pubic spaces very nice. The bar staff was attentive and friendly. We were placed in a wing that was under refurbishment and that should be a last resort. I booked an upgraded room and didn't feel it was- only 2 outlets in the whole room and none by the bed. Breakfast was disappointing and the service lackluster. I had booked in to consider the property for a weekend long event next year. Only 1 space that can host entertainment because of insurance being too expensive to have more than 1 space? And the 1 space is in desperate need of rennovation and updating- the minute I walked in I said thanks no thanks. Also, knowing I was there to view no one thought to impress me with a better room? Would not recommend.

The WIFI was shocking, The room was very noisy from neighbours and people walking past, and lots of doors slammed when they shut. Had a few bugs crawling over me when I woke up. Not bedbugs just random. The bed was very uncomfortable, I booked an exec room, and it felt very standard. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

I usually only write a review if a hotel was exceptional or exceptionally poor. I am a platinum member on Hotels.com and writing one for each hotel would be impossible. The thing that stands out about this hotel is its mediocrity. As a change from my usual work trips this was an evening away with my wife and as such was happy to pay more, approximately £300 for a night. The good points are that it is truly an impressive building, the grounds are amazing and would recommend a walk to see it all. The hotel staff are great and always offer aid and assistance. There is an overall sense of pride in the bar and restaurant areas. The not so good points. The room was tired and décor old. There was sun faded furniture, cracked tiles in the bathroom, tobacco stained blind, the shower didn't stay in a fixed position and has dented the bath multiple times with multiple guests after it has dropped down. Shower temperature was also not constant. The breakfast would have been very good, but had obviously been made prior and on a heat lamp so it was dry. Also breakfast options are limited if you don't like fish All of the "not so good points" are minor, but not at this price point and this is what compelled me to write the review. I have stayed at some exceptional hotels, albeit not around this location, at half of the price. If you are looking for luxury this would fail, slightly, to meet expectations

The hotel is set on a beautiful property. The hotel itself needs a major facelift to be considered 4 stars. There is no central AC in the entire hotel so if you’re visiting in summer beware. Outdoor pool is great, however it too could use an upgrade. Cement around pool on edge is sharp and should be redone. Hotel service was OK. Check-in on a Saturday was a nightmare. Receptionists acted as robots and seemed to forget they were working in hospitality. Overall, I’d skip this place and spend a bit more on something better.

I liked the how elegant the art decor and furniture is in the building . I also liked the food , it was tasty. What I didn’t like was some of the service I received and the fact there were cobwebs on the ceiling of my bedroom. In regards to the service some of it was poor. I had the receptionist tell me that we could order drinks but the pool , but found out when I hit there that we had to go to the bar to order them. They didn’t help me with my luggage on arrival when I was getting out of the taxi and I had someone say they’ll get there colleague to get me an expresso , but waited 20 minutes and he as to chase them for it and after I asked another member of staff for the expressso I had to wait 12 minutes for it and it was dead so that was very disappointing. They gave to me on the house which was good though to apologise. I ordered room service and one of my requests was a glass of champagne and they gave me rosé champagne instead. The meal in the oak room restaurant was delicious and I had very good service. Breakfast was very tasty too and the service was excellent. Overall I’m pleased I went , but there were many let downs unfortunately. Hopefully they will read this and work on improving their service skills and cleaning routines. The staff were very polite though.

So, I don’t really like writing about Tylney in a slightly negative way. However, we used to go to the hotel a few times a year and used to be Elite club members. It used to feel like a really special place, a small teddy left for our baby at the time. They would go out of their way to make it special. we went for our 18th wedding anniversary. I spoke with them on the phone and left a note on booking. Not even a mention about it. The food was very good as usual, the ‘spa’ swimming pool area was too hot to sit in, the outdoor pool there was cigarettes on the floor, the whole place needs a good clean. We had a spa treatment each, one was good, mine was by a poor girl on work experience, a nice girl. But paying £130 for 2 treatments you expect something a little more. Such a shame, the gardens are still lovely. however spending £600 on one night including dinner, there’s so much better out there. Gutted to be writing this as it used to be our little treat and escape

There are not enough superlatives to describe this hotel and its incredible grounds! The food was Excellent - better than the Michelin * restuarants I have been to recently in London and Venice. The grounds are spectacular - all 66 acres of them and its worth visiting just for this alone. The bedrooms are very nice and confortable. We had an Orangery suite which has Aircon. The Main house rooms do not. The staff were superb! Expecially compared to some other much more expensive hotels where the service really lets them down.

The grounds are spectacular - all 66 acres of them and its worth visiting just for this alone. The bedrooms are very nice and confortable. We had an Orangery suite which has Aircon. The Main house rooms do not. The staff were superb! Expecially compared to some other much more expensive hotels where the service really lets them down.

I usually only write a review if a hotel was exceptional or exceptionally poor. I am a platinum member on Hotels.com and writing one for each hotel would be impossible. The thing that stands out about this hotel is its mediocrity. As a change from my usual work trips this was an evening away with my wife and as such was happy to pay more, approximately £300 for a night. The good points are that it is truly an impressive building, the grounds are amazing and would recommend a walk to see it all. The hotel staff are great and always offer aid and assistance. There is an overall sense of pride in the bar and restaurant areas. The not so good points. The room was tired and décor old. There was sun faded furniture, cracked tiles in the bathroom, tobacco stained blind, the shower didn't stay in a fixed position and has dented the bath multiple times with multiple guests after it has dropped down. Shower temperature was also not constant. The breakfast would have been very good, but had obviously been made prior and on a heat lamp so it was dry. Also breakfast options are limited if you don't like fish All of the "not so good points" are minor, but not at this price point and this is what compelled me to write the review. I have stayed at some exceptional hotels, albeit not around this location, at half of the price. If you are looking for luxury this would fail, slightly, to meet expectations

Stayed here with my pregnant wife for one night with friends. Staff were especially friendly and helpful. Oliver at concierge, Della at the spa and Sophie in the restaurant were all really fantastic. Stayed in a Garden Room which was slightly away from the main building. It was modern, cosy and clean. Only a short walk to the main building. Concierge can drive you if needed too. Main building more classic in appearance and decor, but cosy and warm. Food was excellent. Indoor pool and changing room could do with a bit of an update, but still lovely to have. I had the room for people with reduced mobility and it was the least attractive room. Just because I am disabled doesn't mean I don't have the right to have a nice, bright room like the others. Also, when you opened the door to the room, you could see me in bed.

What a wonderful stay. When I first arrived, my initial room had a nasty smell, but the lovely team quickly moved me to an exceptional suite which quite frankly made my week. We had dinner at the hotel as well, and the food was wonderful, as was the service. Highly recommend a walk around the stunning gardens. They are very well kept and make for a lovely morning activity. Thank you very much to the team for making my stay such a pleasant one :)

We have had a lovely stay, the staff were very friendly and professional. The hotel itself is quite dated inside but the gardens are beautiful and kept well so it makes up for it. Breakfast was a nice atmosphere and organised well, along with a great choice of good food. Free parking on site is a bonus. Shame that our smoke alarm started beeping at midnight waking us up, the hotel reception said it’s common because of the weather conditions. Overall, we enjoyed our stay! :)

Really great stay. Lovely grounds, rooms and facilities. Some areas a bit neglected like changing rooms (none of the soaps were filled, staff said they were broken for weeks) and games room. Mostly the staff were amazing but a couple a bit grumpy as the hotel was busy. Had to wait outside our room for over 20 minutes as they'd cancelled our key card early. Overall great and we would go back.

The grounds and hall are beautiful BUT there was a persistent lack of staff. For example, when we went to the terrace bar on both Saturday and Sunday, it took ages to get served. We went to the bar, they told us a server would be out, but then no one would come out and we had to keep going up. On the Sunday, it took us an hour between sitting down and anyone getting us our lunch- it was 4pm before we ate, which messed up the amount of time we could fit in the pool after lunch and before our dinner reservation. At dinner, staff would look offended if we tried to top up our own wine without a server, but then that server could only do that, not take an extra order, etc, and not arrive in time for a top up- same at breakfast, the tea server couldn't take food orders. We think a big wedding and birthday party were distracting them, because on the quieter Monday, this didn't happen. But it was frustrating- if you can't fully staff the bar, lounge and outside, ask people to order at the bar, or make it clear only one area will have servers around, rather than leave people wandering 3 rooms to get noticed. And train staff so if they have to cover lots of duties, they can actually do them, instead of waiting for everything. Although some drinks were then taken off our bill because of this hour's wait (and forgetting part of the order), we aren't there to get free stuff, we just wanted to eat on time. However, everything else was great, and concierge was very helpful throughout.

The hotel is set on a beautiful property. The hotel itself needs a major facelift to be considered 4 stars. There is no central AC in the entire hotel so if you’re visiting in summer beware. Outdoor pool is great, however it too could use an upgrade. Cement around pool on edge is sharp and should be redone. Hotel service was OK. Check-in on a Saturday was a nightmare. Receptionists acted as robots and seemed to forget they were working in hospitality. Overall, I’d skip this place and spend a bit more on something better.

I liked the how elegant the art decor and furniture is in the building . I also liked the food , it was tasty. What I didn’t like was some of the service I received and the fact there were cobwebs on the ceiling of my bedroom. In regards to the service some of it was poor. I had the receptionist tell me that we could order drinks but the pool , but found out when I hit there that we had to go to the bar to order them. They didn’t help me with my luggage on arrival when I was getting out of the taxi and I had someone say they’ll get there colleague to get me an expresso , but waited 20 minutes and he as to chase them for it and after I asked another member of staff for the expressso I had to wait 12 minutes for it and it was dead so that was very disappointing. They gave to me on the house which was good though to apologise. I ordered room service and one of my requests was a glass of champagne and they gave me rosé champagne instead. The meal in the oak room restaurant was delicious and I had very good service. Breakfast was very tasty too and the service was excellent. Overall I’m pleased I went , but there were many let downs unfortunately. Hopefully they will read this and work on improving their service skills and cleaning routines. The staff were very polite though.

A nice stay on our way back from Portsmouth to Lincoln. We arrived at 10.30 pm and made very welcome, we ordered a sandwitch in the bar which was no trouble. The room was fine . Good access to the motorways and plenty of safe parking if you have a nice car. Take an hour to discovery the vast grounds of the hall before you leave. We will stay here again. Graham & Gaynor R

The grounds are beautiful but there are some 'feature' areas that need a lot of work to bring them up to their original beauty. The staff were friendly and courteous. The room was very nice. The food was really good but, a downside, and this was a biggie for us, was that it was really disappointing that the menu didn't change for the entire time that we were there. As it is such a limited menu that meant having to have the same thing on 2 or 3 nights. We stayed over Valentine's and, not unsurprisingly, the restaurant was very busy that night which was fine but, no Valentine's decoration - not a single thing and EXACTLY the same menu

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel although we did think it was probably not ideal for a young family. The pool was decent although we were not able to get into the outside pool for some reason one day. The staff were nice but everyone seemed a bit uptight and had to stick to the rules. We had a lovely time, the hotel is beautiful and so are the grounds. BUT I'm allergic to dairy and , having told the staff that, I'm afraid I've definitely eaten dairy as I've been very ill today. I've never left a review before and I don't really know why I'm doing it now, beyond saying please make absolute sure things don't have dairy in before you serve them, as people can get very sick!

The room we had needed to be updated badly no view only a brick wall. The breakfast was not very good. The staff are very nice. Not enough beds round the pool for the size of the hotel. If it's a spa hotel then children shouldn't be allowed . The hotel is very very over priced for food and drink more expensive then dubai!!!! Will not be returning

We have spent a wonderful time at Tylnley Hall, with a warm welcome. Our dinner was amazing, with delicious courses served with a perfect pace that ended with a goergeous pavlova. The room was really nice even if I have been a bit too hor, where air con would have been welcome to my taste but I like sleeping chillier that others. We enjoyed a continental breakfast with fresh fruits and pastries (thank you for the service Georgie ❤️) all well presented and tasteful. And after that what's best than some tanning next to a warm swimming pool with clean surrounding and a present and reactive staff, allowing extra rest after check out. And before leaving, early afternoon tea with delicious and generous nibbles, scones and cakes. 24 hours when we felt looked after. Thank you again for this stay.

Lovely restaurant and very nice pools and facilities. It's a very impressive we had a great time. Like other reviews, it was just difficult to have a good night's sleep as the room was so hot. We weren't staying during a heatwave or anything, but it was still very uncomfortable at night even with the windows open and with the fan they provided

We stayed at this hotel as family and guests to attend a wedding. The hotel is on several acres of well manicured lawns and an excellent place for nightlife in terms of watching the stars and just relaxing out in nature. The staff were very helpful and we observed a sense of camaraderie between them and how happy they seem to be working in that environment. The hotel itself is full of character as it must’ve been built in the 1800s and have an excellent history as it was initially a privately owned home, a private school at one time as well as a hospital during the war and now it is owned by a private group. The food is excellent, there were items I didn’t like for breakfast however other visitors were happy with it. I stayed in this hotel during the severe heat and unfortunately, although there was a fan in my room, it was very uncomfortable to sleep because the hotel does not have air-conditioning (AC) which is a downfall, but no doubt the hotel will be comfortable in the winter as there are radiators in the rooms
