Friendly hard working staff , the only down side Is the restaurant isn’t open Monday to Wednesday evenings which is a shame as the food is excellent!

Lovely old fashioned hotel. Small bedroom and extremely warm due to the very sunny warm day. No AC but a small fan was provided. Self checkin. Would stay again. Good breakfast too. Great location

Excellent breakfast but limited parking

We stayed here as part of an overnight trip to Bristol to see a friend’s gig at a local pub in Keynsham. The hotel bar area was quite busy when we arrived so the reception was unmanned. The young lady who checked us in was friendly, informative and helpful and gave us our key and told us how to access our room. The weather was really hot so the windows in our room were already opened and it felt cool inside which was welcomed. We had to leave the windows open all night due to the heat, this made for a very noisy night’s sleep due to the road noise from the main road to the front of the hotel. Nobody’s fault, just one of those things to be aware of if you get a room at the front of the hotel. I travel a lot with work, and I’ve always said that if a hotel can get the basics right, the rest is acceptable. The loft room was comfortable enough although a little smaller than I was expecting and the bed was comfortable and it was clean and tidy, with towels and coffee making facilities to hand. My pet gripe with hotel rooms is bathrooms… The one in our room was clean but the shower was tiny and the shower head wouldn’t stay in a fixed position. Further pluses, they have obviously put a lot of thought and effort into the décor throughout the hotel. Nice touches too like the communal fridge on the landing with chilled milk, water, and oat milk. The breakfast was great, we both had the vegan option which was delicious. On the whole, not too bad.

Very efficient check in with a decent size room. The shower cubicle however was on the small size. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of tea/ coffee in room and more available if required. Lovely breakfast. I sat in the garden area to eat

Nice room with 4poster bed but no full length mirror, only 2 coat hangers and a mixture of old and new furniture. Bathroom rather tired with wobbly toilet seat, dirty toilet brush and sink that took ages for water to drain away. Breakfast included but not much choice. Expected more from a 4* hotel. Restaurant and bar not open in the evening despite website advertising it which was one one the reasons for booking this hotel in the first place. Hotel not staffed after 6pm and door access not easy with key pad.

I was a little surprised the hotel did not have the restaurant and bar open on Wednesdays. However, there was a pub 5 minutes walk away that did food. Breakfast was really good, and the parking was easy. The hotel is on a busy road, so expect some traffic noise.

The hotel is currently not staffed at all except for breakfast. There is no one available to check you in and no restaurant or bar. Nowhere on Expedia does it say this. I had to call to get someone to let me in the hotel, then another guest had taken my room key in an envelope by mistake (all self service) so someone had to drive down and work out what had happened. Very inconvenient. Parking also limited. Breakfast was good though.

Parking is available but it’s not a big area and is used by guests and restaurant patrons so it does get busy.

Checked in early at 2:30 and the car park was already completely full, I asked the young lady on reception, who was very polite, where I was supposed to park and she suggested I find some on street parking, I eventually did this about half a mile away. Other than that, the accommodation is dated and it is on a busy main road, traffic noise overnight is very noticeable

Very convenient for where we needed to go. Easily ask accessible room up one flight of stairs. Good sized room and bathroom. Decor was all a bit tired. Needs a proper refurbishment not just a paint job over old wallpaper and paintwork. Mould around the bath sealant was poor for a ‘deluxe room’. Breakfast was good, once we’d got the waitress’s attention. Coffee was very weak. Over all ‘ok’

The hotel itself was very quiet, but on a busy Road. All the bedding was spotlessly clean. The mattress had see better days and the pillows were awful. The bathroom had everything you needed including towels. Plenty of hot drinks were available in the room. At breakfast we didn't feel like we were welcomed and other guests were waiting to be told what to do/go. Maybe a sign by the door telling guests to seat themselves would be an idea? The breakfast was a full English with one of everything. To be fair it wasn't amazing. You could tell that the sausages were of good quality, but nothing had any flavour. The coffee was good and also the choice of other items available. All in all it was quite a pleasant stay.

Handy situated between Bath and Bristol. Lovely young staff. Evening meal (tapas) was delicious. Good breakfast choice. Our room was a bit outdated and alot of dust on window sill! Sliding door for loo very noisy. Comfy beds though

Nice hotel with a good breakfast selection. The room was nice and clean. It is on a main road so if you find road noise difficult check on what rooms are available. We live in London so we’re fine. The bathroom was a bit tired but the shower was hot and the towels nice.

The room size was good. The staff came and helped. However there was no heating on in the building anywhere. We found two small oil filled radiators and in speaking with some guests the following morning, the heating was not going to come on until 1 November.

Room 10 - Big 4 Poster Comfy Bed, nice big Bath & amazing Breakfast

Underwhelming but fine. Shower was pathetic. Curtains weren’t blackout. Mattress fairly lumpy. Budget a decent amount of time to wait for the breakfast as not a buffet. But nothing horrendous. Fine for a 1 night business trip.

Easy parking, non manned reception, mattresses uncomfortable, pillows lumpy, road noise never ending. Needs secondary glazing and blackout curtains. Good heating and massive tv.

Room was on the smaller side but had everything needed. Bathroom was huge with a bath which was nice but no way to control the room temperature which was on the cold side especially at night in October. It seems towel rail and heating were connected but was off. Staff didn’t seem to know how to deal with this issue. Hot water bottle needed if visiting this time of year.

The hotel was let down by its aftercare. I booked a room which was quite expensive imo and the TV didn’t work. My partner normally stays in the room while I go out to work (playing in a band) hence it’s a long night without a TV. They failed to repair the TV and I requested a partial refund. After not receiving any communication from the hotel I contacted hotels.com who were excellent to be fair, and although they gave me a token voucher they said the hotel were unable to comment at the time I called. I have now waited several more days and still no communication from the hotel. Hence my review. The hotel was okay but not worth £112 (plus breakfast), the room was tired and the shower very small, although things like tea coffee soap towels etc all good. Staff were friendly and tried to help but I fear it is the management who do not care once they have been paid.

Convenient location with a sensible price. The staff were friendly and the hotel had a lovely welcoming atmosphere. The staff seemed happy about their work which means the management must be decent. I will be coming back.

Attentive staff Great breakfast

We only stayed one night. The staff / team were excellent and very friendly.The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The only gripe was there were no bath towels on our arrival just after 4pm. We eventually received them just after 9pm in the evening. Apart from that, everything else was fine.

Delightful hotel been coming here for over 13 years on and off pup across the road also Chinese and a 10 minute walk into the town

Nice place a little bit out of the city centre. A 12 minute walk to the train station, then just 7 minutes to Bristol Temple Meads.

Great staff, great breakfast and a superb sleep on a very clean and comfortable bed. Shower could do with being stronger and little toiletries would be a bonus but overall a very good couple of nights stay. Recommended for visiting Bath with just a short train ride from the town.

Hotel is in a great location for Bath or Bristol. Never have any issues with our stay. The breakfast is lovely.
