This property was even better in person than the pictures, it was perfection. We could of stayed longer and there was as much in the house as out the house to do, my 7 year old was happy for hours playing with toys inside and outside, me and my older daughter felt very relaxed and happy pottering around. Acorn cottage really was an ideal home away from home.

The cottage is set in a beautiful area and has a stunning garden/grounds. We were so lucky with our weather and spent most of our time exploring the forest, which is right on your doorstep. Maria is an excellent host and left homemade goodies and a gift for our grand daughter. The cottage has all the amenities that you could need. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

What a beautiful house and what a beautiful part of the world! Walk out of the property into the forest, or 3 minutes up the road to the pub, what a gorgeous dilemma. The cottage has everything you could wish for, including a beautiful garden, and Maria was a generous and thoughtful host. We will definitely be coming back!

We (a family of four) spent a fantastic holiday in this charming cottage, and it was everything we hoped for. Both the cottage itself and the garden were ideal, with all the amenities we needed for a most enjoyable stay. The location was ideal for exploring nearby trails and the local pub! Overall, it was a great experience, and we would certainly return!

We had the most wonderful time at Acorn Cottage, as every little thing is catered for from all the games provided inside and out, to the the peaceful setting, where you can relax in the extensive gardens, or in the tranquility of the cottage. We loved that there are walks straight into the forest, without having to take the car and where the ponies literally walk past the front gate. Maria is a wonderful host and provided so many extras, including a delicious cake, bread, jam, wine, milk, juice, as well as a selection of teas and coffees. Thank you so much for a perfect break away.

We all loved Acorn Cottage. It is a hidden gem set in a fabulous location. The huge garden and glorious weather made for a perfect weekend. The cottage is extremely well equipped and very comfortable. Our host was very friendly and super helpful.

The cottage is beautiful and cozy and the grounds are lovely. We walked out of the front gate and directly across the lane into the forest shared with horses. When we drove into the property when we first arrived, we were greeted by about 40 beautiful deer. The location is awesome with a short walk to an old cozy lovely pub and a bit longer walk into Lyndhurst and the forest entrance right across the lane. It was so peaceful and quiet. We did a lot of cooking and the cottage had everything we needed in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable and warm and the rooms were spacious. We had a wonderful week reconnecting with family and forest-bathing. Maria was an awesome host, very warm and responsive. We would love to return!

My son and his girlfriend picked this cottage as our treat to them to celebrate his 30th. We had a warm welcome from the host who baked a special cake which helped set the scene for a celebratory weekend. Bedding quality is excellent.

Boutique hotel vibe, very comfortable and easy to relax in the house and outside.in the glorious garden and grounds. The quality of the household items and linens was not lost on us and all the bespoke touches that Maria went to the trouble of surprising us with were enjoyed and appreciated. We celebrated my husbands 60th birthday here with family. Our host Maria left cake, card and gift for our granddaughter which was so very thoughtful. There was nothing to complain about, we loved it and would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.

This was our third time at the property. Cannot fault anything. It just gets better. Maria, our host, was always on hand if we needed her and nothing was a problem. The cottage and gardens are stunning. We were visited by ponies and had a little foal running up the drive. Short walk to The Oak Inn which was also very good. We are already looking at dates to return and will many more times. Absolutely first class.

What an amazing place. Maria is a Fantastic host, really helpful. We were welcomed with a lovely homemade birthday cake for my husband’s birthday. The pictures really don’t do the cottage justice. The outside space was absolutely amazing, we brought our puppy and he had the best time in the garden. You cross the road and are straight into the forest for amazing walks.

Our second visit and just as good. Maria is the perfect host and the cottage is gorgeous, with beautiful touches like fresh flowers and sweet treats. The location is spellbinding, private but with the forest on your doorstep - literally! We will be back again, and can’t wait.

Maria is an excellent host and left homemade goodies and a gift for our grand daughter. The cottage has all the amenities that you could need. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
The cottage is set in a beautiful area and has a stunning garden/grounds. We were so lucky with our weather and spent most of our time exploring the forest, which is right on your doorstep. Maria is an excellent host and left homemade goodies and a gift for our grand daughter. The cottage has all the amenities that you could need. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

What a beautiful house and what a beautiful part of the world! Walk out of the property into the forest, or 3 minutes up the road to the pub, what a gorgeous dilemma. The cottage has everything you could wish for, including a beautiful garden, and Maria was a generous and thoughtful host. We will definitely be coming back!

We (a family of four) spent a fantastic holiday in this charming cottage, and it was everything we hoped for. Both the cottage itself and the garden were ideal, with all the amenities we needed for a most enjoyable stay. The location was ideal for exploring nearby trails and the local pub! Overall, it was a great experience, and we would certainly return!

Our second visit and just as good. Maria is the perfect host and the cottage is gorgeous, with beautiful touches like fresh flowers and sweet treats. The location is spellbinding, private but with the forest on your doorstep - literally! We will be back again, and can’t wait.

The cottage is beautiful and cozy and the grounds are lovely. We walked out of the front gate and directly across the lane into the forest shared with horses. When we drove into the property when we first arrived, we were greeted by about 40 beautiful deer. The location is awesome with a short walk to an old cozy lovely pub and a bit longer walk into Lyndhurst and the forest entrance right across the lane. It was so peaceful and quiet. We did a lot of cooking and the cottage had everything we needed in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable and warm and the rooms were spacious. We had a wonderful week reconnecting with family and forest-bathing. Maria was an awesome host, very warm and responsive. We would love to return!

Charming cottage, so well appointed with life style books everywhere. Every detail was thought about and the welcome package was wonderful! Delicious sour dough bread, butter, a home made cake, milk, wine, all very lovely!

Perfect location and cottage for whole family. Cottage beautifully set up. Garden space great for barbecues and safe for dogs and children, direct forest access, good pub just up the road. Perfect Weekend.

My son and his girlfriend picked this cottage as our treat to them to celebrate his 30th. We had a warm welcome from the host who baked a special cake which helped set the scene for a celebratory weekend. Bedding quality is excellent.

This was our third time at the property. Cannot fault anything. It just gets better. Maria, our host, was always on hand if we needed her and nothing was a problem. The cottage and gardens are stunning. We were visited by ponies and had a little foal running up the drive. Short walk to The Oak Inn which was also very good. We are already looking at dates to return and will many more times. Absolutely first class.

We had the most wonderful time at Acorn Cottage, as every little thing is catered for from all the games provided inside and out, to the the peaceful setting, where you can relax in the extensive gardens, or in the tranquility of the cottage. We loved that there are walks straight into the forest, without having to take the car and where the ponies literally walk past the front gate. Maria is a wonderful host and provided so many extras, including a delicious cake, bread, jam, wine, milk, juice, as well as a selection of teas and coffees. Thank you so much for a perfect break away.

What an amazing place. Maria is a Fantastic host, really helpful. We were welcomed with a lovely homemade birthday cake for my husband’s birthday. The pictures really don’t do the cottage justice. The outside space was absolutely amazing, we brought our puppy and he had the best time in the garden. You cross the road and are straight into the forest for amazing walks.

Very attractive and comfortable cottage. Great size for 6 adults and a dog, gorgeous forest location with a lovely garden. Nice touches like cake and wine on arrival. Perfect for walking from, so many routes to choose from, and very good as a base to drive out from. Good pubs nearby. Would highly recommend and would stay again if we head back to that part of the New Forest one day.

Acorn cottage is a beautiful house in a stunning location, it has everything you need.We were blessed with fabulous weather so we spent a lot of time in the garden. Lovely pub that does great Sunday roasts 10 minute walk up the lane.

Fabulous tranquil setting with forest ponies right outside the door. Our host was really helpful and quick to respond. The house was really comfortable, well equipped and the equipment / towels were really high quality. The nearby Oak pub did us proud for food and drink, and there were abundant forest walks in every direction. We’ll definitely be back!

The house is as amazing as described in the reviews. Really peaceful and relaxing, sat in nature. We loved - the books, the birds in the garden, the fire, the cosy dining room, the baths, the walks, the pub, and the nice touches Maria had waiting for our arrival. Would love to go again.
