It was really different and the carriage was lovely and clean. It was like going back I time. The waiting room looked lovely with the Christmas tree and breakfast was excellent.

This is an old Victorian railway station that was closed in 1966. It is a couple of miles south of the town so not an ideal location for travel then but perfect now for car drivers, just off the A285. The current owners have refurbished the main building and added a number of Pullman Railway Carriages. Accommodation is either in the station building or a carriage. The carriages are well equipped with a double bed and a bathroom/toilet/shower. Although the carriage is narrow, I've definitely had smaller bathrooms in traditional hotels! The facilities are of high standard and very clean. There is also full, and very effective central heating for chilly nights and a large fan in each carriage for those warm days. Breakfast is in the station building but room service is also available. There is currently no evening dining option, although at the far end of the platform they are refurbishing "Princess Ena" which is intended to be a dining car so things may change. Afternoon teas and drinks can be served at tables on the old platform which looks across the old track bed to a stunning garden. It's a lovely quirky option, close to Petworth House (NT) and a short drive from Chichester. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the Pullman King and it was lovely, there was a large bathroom with bath and shower which were spotless. The bed was really comfortable and the whole carriage was spacious and clean. Plenty of tea coffe etc. only recommendation would be a higher table so u could sit and eat without bending over. Breakfast in the restaurant was fresh and tasty with lots of nice touches. Would love to stay here again. Would also recommend Badgers pub down the road a 2 minute walk.

A really superb small hotel. Staying in a railway carriage was a truly unique and wonderful experience. The carriages are well laid out and well equipped. We arrived when it was -5 degrees, so the room was a little cooler than we would have liked, but there were plenty of radiators to add heat. Breakfast was amazing and taken in a stunning old waiting room with a roaring fire. Staff were excellent too!

We liked the accommodation but booked afternoon tea for 4 people the spread wasn't quite what i expected for £25pp with no prosseco that had to be purchased separately very minimal couldn't really justify £128 in total for 1 sandwich each x2 scones 2 very small cakes and a tiny jam jar pot of chocolate mouse and tea/coffee

This was a fabulous find. A beautiful setting, and ideal for for a short break. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly and the breakfast was great. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how things progress with the newest Pullman which is being converted into a restaurant and would recommend a stay here.

A very peaceful setting. You could barely here any traffic, just an owl for nighttime company. Everything was very clean and welcoming.The staff were relaxed and helpful. The carriages on arrival were warm and cosy. Toiletries provided. Tea and coffee, including a small cafetiere and corkscrew. The tea room is beautifully restored and very inviting with a real fire. Nice scones and coffee and a choice of breakfast in the morning. You definitely need a car here, whilst there is a short walk close by in a wooded area, this also shows you some of the history of the area. it wasn’t really safe to walk miles due to lack of footpaths on a busy road.

A really interesting, quirky and special place. We stayed in a Pullman 'room' which was comfortable, warm and cosy. The carriage had been converted brilliantly and retained its historic features. The station building also had been converted/renovated to a high standard and again retained historic references, tastefully done. Breakfast, cooked 'just for you' was excellent and was eaten in the old waiting room which had a lovely ambiance. Highly recommended if you want something different and if you have any interest in steam railways, you'll love it.

The hotel was amazing really lovely quiet place to relax. The local pub Badger was just down the road from the hotel and again the food was very good. The cleanliness of the rooms was excellent, we will definitely be back.

This has been on my bucket list for some time. We had a wounderful 2 night stay and everything was perfect. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable, larger than alot of hotel rooms. You lay in bed at night and could imagine your travelling on a train. The meal was excellent, Beef Wellington to die for, so good and wonderful surroundings in a 1906 Pullman car exquisitely restored. The staff were brilliant and extremely helpful. Alot of history tied up in this place.

Last minute booking for my partner and I and can honestly say it was amazing. Friendly welcome and the Pullman carriage didn't disappoint. Would certainly recommend a visit.

This was a fabulous find. A beautiful setting, and ideal for for a short break. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly and the breakfast was great. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how things progress with the newest Pullman which is being converted into a restaurant and would recommend a stay here.

A very peaceful setting. You could barely here any traffic, just an owl for nighttime company. Everything was very clean and welcoming.The staff were relaxed and helpful. The carriages on arrival were warm and cosy. Toiletries provided. Tea and coffee, including a small cafetiere and corkscrew. The tea room is beautifully restored and very inviting with a real fire. Nice scones and coffee and a choice of breakfast in the morning. You definitely need a car here, whilst there is a short walk close by in a wooded area, this also shows you some of the history of the area. it wasn’t really safe to walk miles due to lack of footpaths on a busy road.

Room was in excellent condition; Breakfast was delicious and service very good . Dinner was delicious and being served by the owner made it very personable and meant we received the very best of service.

This has been on my bucket list for some time. We had a wounderful 2 night stay and everything was perfect. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable, larger than alot of hotel rooms. You lay in bed at night and could imagine your travelling on a train. The meal was excellent, Beef Wellington to die for, so good and wonderful surroundings in a 1906 Pullman car exquisitely restored. The staff were brilliant and extremely helpful. Alot of history tied up in this place.

This is an old Victorian railway station that was closed in 1966. It is a couple of miles south of the town so not an ideal location for travel then but perfect now for car drivers, just off the A285. The current owners have refurbished the main building and added a number of Pullman Railway Carriages. Accommodation is either in the station building or a carriage. The carriages are well equipped with a double bed and a bathroom/toilet/shower. Although the carriage is narrow, I've definitely had smaller bathrooms in traditional hotels! The facilities are of high standard and very clean. There is also full, and very effective central heating for chilly nights and a large fan in each carriage for those warm days. Breakfast is in the station building but room service is also available. There is currently no evening dining option, although at the far end of the platform they are refurbishing "Princess Ena" which is intended to be a dining car so things may change. Afternoon teas and drinks can be served at tables on the old platform which looks across the old track bed to a stunning garden. It's a lovely quirky option, close to Petworth House (NT) and a short drive from Chichester. Highly recommended.

The hotel was amazing really lovely quiet place to relax. The local pub Badger was just down the road from the hotel and again the food was very good. The cleanliness of the rooms was excellent, we will definitely be back.

Loved the quirkiness of sleeping in a railway carriage. And it was lovely and quiet. Very convenient for walks on the South Downs and Petworth park. Delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend

We stayed in the Pullman King and it was lovely, there was a large bathroom with bath and shower which were spotless. The bed was really comfortable and the whole carriage was spacious and clean. Plenty of tea coffe etc. only recommendation would be a higher table so u could sit and eat without bending over. Breakfast in the restaurant was fresh and tasty with lots of nice touches. Would love to stay here again. Would also recommend Badgers pub down the road a 2 minute walk.

Very nice stay for 3 nights in a Pullman car. Very clean and comfortable and great breakfasts. Struggled with the WiFi signal in the car itself, but otherwise all good.

A really superb small hotel. Staying in a railway carriage was a truly unique and wonderful experience. The carriages are well laid out and well equipped. We arrived when it was -5 degrees, so the room was a little cooler than we would have liked, but there were plenty of radiators to add heat. Breakfast was amazing and taken in a stunning old waiting room with a roaring fire. Staff were excellent too!

We liked the accommodation but booked afternoon tea for 4 people the spread wasn't quite what i expected for £25pp with no prosseco that had to be purchased separately very minimal couldn't really justify £128 in total for 1 sandwich each x2 scones 2 very small cakes and a tiny jam jar pot of chocolate mouse and tea/coffee

A really interesting, quirky and special place. We stayed in a Pullman 'room' which was comfortable, warm and cosy. The carriage had been converted brilliantly and retained its historic features. The station building also had been converted/renovated to a high standard and again retained historic references, tastefully done. Breakfast, cooked 'just for you' was excellent and was eaten in the old waiting room which had a lovely ambiance. Highly recommended if you want something different and if you have any interest in steam railways, you'll love it.

The whole experience was excellent. Very good staff and breakfast on the platform in glorious weather was truly wonderful. Evening Dinner on the Pullman Diner was of a very high standard.

I was struggling for birthday ideas for my partner. I was thinking a short break, not too far away but something a little unusual. I stumbled across The Old Station in Petworth and booked. I have to say the weekend did not disappoint! We stayed in one of the converted Pullman carriages, beautifully restored with all the amenities we needed within our room. The first evening we ate in their on site restaurant in a Pullman Carriage. The food was excellent and the atmosphere just lovely. The breakfast was also very good in beautiful surroundings and the staff very friendly. I would highly recommend.
