Just had a lovely little.weekend at hotel wrexham with he wife. . Lovely clean hotel and very nice savvy fox pub. Very nice place . Quiet off the beacon track but well worth the stay. We will be back 5*****

The hotel was going through a major renovation and things were dusty and smelly. The waitress service left a lot to be desired as well.

The reception, bar, lounge and dining room are comfortable and inviting. The staff were brilliant, even though they seemed to be undermanned, with one person being needed in three different places. The service and food was great. However...... when we went to the bedroom, it really was very tired and the stains on the outside of the sink, were definitely not appealing. They were from I think someone dying their hair and spilling the dye. The TV remote was missing. When we went down to the bar and asked about the missing remote control. The man said he would speak to someone and get it sorted. That someone was Kirsty. What an absolute treasure. She came and asked if it was okay, for her to go and search the room. She did and then went into other rooms to try and get a remote, that would work with the TV. When she had exhausted all options, she then suggested moving us to another room and insisted on helping us, to do it. The whole time she was bright and bubbly and made us feel relaxed and calm about it all. (We are not young people!) She even organised for us to have a free dessert as an apology. The new bedroom had a remote control, but the condition of the room was not good, with holes and marks in the walls. We stayed in a large mansion house, a few weeks before, with everything more or less spot on. They charged us with an upgrade for 2 nights only about £15 more than we paid for one night at the Hotel Wrexham. Definitely not worth the money.

The hotel is set in nice, well kept grounds. The photo certainly does it justice. The interior is good, with a nice bar and restaurant area with outdoor seating. The problems, however, are more fundamental. The rooms are a bit tired and well look well used although the bathrooms appear to have been quite recently updated and have nice fixtures and a good walk-in shower. Bed was comfortable enough and the linen was clean and fresh - but you'll be gambling on whether or not you get a good night's sleep. The hotel is situated about 20 yards from the road and there is a lot of traffic noise to contend with. The hotel have tried to combat this with double glazing but without air-con who wants to have their windows shut in summer? However, worse than the traffic noise was the sound of the occupants of the room above. Were they noisy and playing loud music ? No. They merely walked around their room like anyone else, but the structure of the floor is so bad that every step they took squeaked, creaked and groaned like there were a couple of baby hippos up there. We didn't complain.....what on earth could be done? Short of pulling the place down and rebuilding, it I don't know how you fix this place. Sadly for the Holt, I never return to hotels where can't be sure of getting a good night's sleep.

Good place for rest. Quiet, clean, friendly staff, nice food and also you can try local lager and cider straight from tap. :)

Fabulous staff, hotel has been renovated with some work yet to be finished, standard is good with comfortable rooms. Meal in restaurant was lovely, grounds are beautiful and location ideal. Would stay again.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the sunshine with a glass of prosecco on the lovely patio. We had a beautiful meal in the restaurant in the eving and the service is spot on. With all the interior work being done the staff were very helpful. The bar will hopefully be completed by next week. We stayed in a standard double room which we coudn't fault, it was very clean and the bed was very comfy. We will definitely stay again and recommend to family & friends.

The mattress in our room was comfortable and plenty of parking. unfortunately the cooked breakfast was awful and inedible due to it being cold, over cooked and left stood for hours. The rooms were also tired and could have done with a better clean (we had crisps all over the bathroom floor).

Great stay close to the bus stop (watch the bus times tho! The time table posted at the stop wasn’t correct and Google Maps stated bus arrival times for a Sunday morning when busses weren’t running yet!) The staff were kind enough to let us know and call a cab for us which wasn’t too expensive back into town. They were also kind enough to let us drop our bags off early even tho our room wasn’t ready so we could go back into town for the Wrexham football match! A comfy but older building with old fashioned keys for the doors, but in a beautiful area. Had dinner and breakfast, both were good!

Mouldy bath tub and very mouldy tub plug... cobwebs inside the kettle (!). Otherwise, the attentive staff

This was genuinely one of the most disgusting hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked into the room, the hygiene was shocking. There were small men’s hairs all over the sink and on the towels. There was no hand wash liquid provided, and the bed looked like it hadn’t even been changed after the previous guest. It honestly felt dirty and completely unacceptable. The ironing board had a hole in it, and every time the people next door used their bathroom, the sound of running water was loud and intrusive in my room. It made it impossible to relax. I went down to reception to report the matter. To be fair, the receptionist was polite and seemed to want to help, but she clearly didn’t have the authority or means to do anything. She told me the hotel was fully booked and that the person who handles these matters wouldn’t be in until the next morning. So I was left with no solution. At that point, I decided I couldn’t stay there any longer. As I was leaving to find another hotel, the restaurant manager made a dismissive comment: “Sorry it wasn’t up to your standards.” That really frustrated me. This isn’t about “standards” — it’s about basic hygiene, which this hotel completely failed to provide. On top of all that, the room had just been freshly painted, and the smell was so strong it was unbearable. Even with the window open, I couldn’t stay in the room for more than 5–10 minutes.

When I arrived, the corrdor smelled very bad/ It had improved the following morning. My room clearly had not been cleaned properly. In fact the mugs in the tea set had not been swapped from the previous occupier and one still had the stains in the bottom and the dirty spoon was in the cup. The soap dispensers were empty but the refiller pouches were left nearby. The restaurant staff were polite but disinterested, despite not being busy at either dinner or breakfast.

Clean and tidy hotel with lovely welcoming staff. Room was very comfortable with everything you need. Evening meal and breakfast were both delicious

Property is old and had lot of noise issues from first floor rooms. Room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned, dust and fan full dirt which triggered allergic reactions. Mould in washroom bathtub area.

This property is under refurbishment but did not really impact my visit to celebrate a 60th birthday, staff very hard working, bed was really comfortable,, yes it's a bit dated, but it's very clean and tidy.

Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Good quality, simple food, and the whole place was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We'd definately come back

We only spent 1 night at the hotel. We were very pleased with it, and it's in a really lovely setting perfect for events and far away from the hustle and bustle of any city and traffic. The staff answered everything and were informative. Room was perfectly adequate for our stay, comfortable bed and good shower room. All very clean. We included breakfast which was delivered as asked and very tasty. Cheers

Stayed in room 108, room was nicely decorated, bathroom had a lovely big wall in shower with rainfall shower head. Bed was really comfy, so much so I slept over my alarm! Whoops. Great value

The room was noisy from upstairs we were woken early and so tired and also road noise was terrible

Fair hotel. Clean room. Hot breakfast. Wifi. Basic room amenities. No usb ports. Nothing in walking distance.

It was ok for a one night stay, the road at the front, where our room was never went quiet overnight.

Rooms were a little tired looking however clean and comfortable. Bar and restaurant area looked recently updated and was very warm and welcoming. All staff were very friendly and attentive, good breakfast. Would stay again.

Quality hotel which from its design used to be a Premier Inn. Which in the last year has been taken over and refurbished to a very high standard Rooms have been refurbished very modern. Good food great staff.

Food was excellent. Room was very comfortable. My usual bugbear is staffing and service but at this hotel I'd say 100 percent is selling them short . Could not ask for better service particularly in the savvy fox restaurant. Will definitely be staying here again. Only downside was we were only staying 1 night. Well done.

We booked 3 rooms and they accommodated us as i wanted to be near each other .. I found the Hotel very good but still a few teething troubles ..staff just need a bit more training as the carpet when having our evening meal was full of cake that shouldve been hoovered up before sitting us down for meal and three different staff saw it but not one cleared the mess up ..quite disappointing... also a bit unorganised at breakfast so was not very pleasant to be told they were very busy and so things weren't replenished and felt a bit of a burden to be asking for things ...but im sure with a little more training things will get better it wont stop us staying again as the Hotel is so very convenient to Wrexham ..

Not enough bar staff on . Was there for a wedding and the wait for a drink was beyond belief . The bar staff worked hard but just needed more help Other than that was good

It was close to Wrexham and the stadium. Perfect for Wrexhan AFC fans.

Newly refurbished, very comfortable bed, clean and spacious room. Return visitor, refurbishment looks fabulous. Great food in restaurant, good selection of gluten free food.

Very nice lobby, bar and restaurant. Room was a little dated but clean and tidy. Bathroom very nice great shower. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Hotel was quiet with no disturbances. Food in the restaurant was excellent with a good choice of drinks at the bar.

Arrived after 8 o’clock hungry made it to dining area to be told main menu is not available for food . Only have four choices, ok can we have chicken no chicken . Went elsewhere for food . We had early start 8 o’clock morning. Could we have a little earlier on breakfast no chefs till 8 o’clock so mist breakfast. 12 hours two rooms two bedrooms and shower with a very uncomfortable bill . And the place was empty with other couples complaining about choice of food .🤔
