Arrived at noon and couldn’t check in until 3, despite all signs pointing to the hotel being empty. The front desk treated us like we were an inconvenience when we checked in. Not a single smile from the man or woman at the front desk. Absolutely brutal. The internet was unsecured—no password required. The two young guys who started at the front desk at 4, along with the young lady working with them, were awesome. Super friendly and made all the difference. The day we left at 6:30 am, we got temporarily locked in the basement. You have to press a button to get from the garage to the hotel. I assume the night clerk was not at the desk. There's a button to push to get out of the garage, but it wasn't clearly marked. The button is on the right side of the car, so you have to get out of your car to push it. When I explained this to the front desk, the man looked at me with clear frustration, as if it should have been obvious. Would not return bcause of the way we were treated at check in and check out.

This a well presented hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I had requested gluten free bread for my breakfast and the kitchen staff supplied me with bread, cake and biscuits every morning. The room was very clean and comfortable. It is around a ten minute walk from the hotel to the centre of Aveiro. Very happy with our stay at the Alfonso.

Room was clean. Staff was fantastic — particularly Melissa at the front desk. Wi-Fi was great, and A/C worked great. Only issue was that the room is very tiny. I was alone, so that was fine, but I wouldn’t have wanted to stay there with a second person.

El hotel está bastante bien, quizás la habitación algo pequeña y el desayuno justo. Lo más feo que vi fue el armario abierto. Buen trato y aunque no está en el centro, se tarda 10 mins en un agradable paseo.

Atendimento educado é normal da recepção! Café da manhã fraco, isolamento acústico bom, quartos e roupas de cama e banho bom! Não gostei do banheiro para tomar cortina de tecido molhava todo o banheiro, o chuveiro é aquelas duchas horríveis que pelo fato do banheiro ter aquelas cortina e ainda por cima de tecido molhava todo o banheiro! Só não dei nota máxima por isso!

Atendimento educado é normal da recepção! Café da manhã fraco, isolamento acústico bom, quartos e roupas de cama e banho bom! Não gostei do banheiro para tomar cortina de tecido molhava todo o banheiro, o chuveiro é aquelas duchas horríveis que pelo fato do banheiro ter aquelas cortina e ainda por cima de tecido molhava todo o banheiro! L'hôtel Afonso V est un très bel hôtel, très propre. Le petit déjeuner correct. Bien situé par rapport au centre ville. Cependant, l'accueil à notre arrivée était froid. Les personnes n'ont même pas pris le temps de nous accueillir convenablement. Pas un regard, même pas un bienvenu ou un bonjour avec un sourire.....Déçue aussi par le SPA, qui était froid pas agréable du tout. C'est vraiment dommage car l'hôtel avec son grand hall d'entrée, les parties communes et la chambre sont supers.

It was wonderful to stay at Hotel Alfonso V. Good location that is close to the Forum and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was great and had tons of items to choose from and they are very baby friendly. We arrived at the hotel and initially were given a room with two twin beds, we asked to change room to get a double and they were very accomodating. Rooms are nice and chic and the hotel is clean all around.

Hotel bem localizado 800 m do centro, tem estacionamento mas não tinha vaga, café da manhã mto bom, quarto pequeno, mas com todas as comodidades necessárias para uma boa estadia.

El hotel está bastante bien, quizás la habitación algo pequeña y el desayuno justo. Lo más feo que vi fue el armario abierto. Buen trato y aunque no está en el centro, se tarda 10 mins en un agradable paseo.

People were nice, rooms were cleaned daily; hotel places in local neighborhood to feel like a part of the community. Minutes walking distance from Main Street attractions… I would go back for sure.

Excelente localização ! Hotel com tudo novinho e muito limpo . Café da manhã excelente com muitas opções . O hotel fica a 500 metros dos canais e do fórum shopping .

Das Hotel war etwas abseits gelegen, aber Restaurants, Einkaufsmeile und Kanal gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Frühstück war gut. Zimmer sauber und ausreichend groß. Ein Fenster konnte abgekippt werden.

This a well presented hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I had requested gluten free bread for my breakfast and the kitchen staff supplied me with bread, cake and biscuits every morning. The room was very clean and comfortable. It is around a ten minute walk from the hotel to the centre of Aveiro. Very happy with our stay at the Alfonso.

A estadia foi muito boa. Já e a segunda vez que fiquei lá hospedada. A nível de pequeno almoço muito completo, muito saboroso e também muito saudável. Os funcionários muito educados e prestaveis. A sala princesa que e a sala de pequeno almoço muito grande, confortável com uma vista linda. O quarto lindo, muito limpo, confortável, linda vista. Tudo a volta e perto. Queres ver a ria fica a minutos. Queres dar uma volta até ao fórum Aveiro muito perto e ainda se caminha. Tudo muito perto. Não falta nada. O design e lindo, um hotel muito bem decorado. O spa lindo, muito bem composto, tem spa, banho turco, uma bela piscina com bolinhas para desfrutar, e ainda uma flutuação que e uma salgadeira que e bom para problemas de saúde, e medicinal. Muito boa. Aconselho este hotel. Muito bom. A voltar.

Good value for money. Hotel was clean, service was good. Wifi and TV worked fine. Hotel is about 20 minutes walk from station. Main shops/attractions are a pleasant walk about 1 km along the canal. Hotel not "exceptional" but could not fault it, and price was very reasonable, breakfast OK but slightly limited choice, but then again at 7 Euros it was not extortionate. would willingly stay there again

Ótimo hotel. Limpo, confortável, calmo. Area externa muito boa. Café da manhã bom, mas senti falta de frutas cortadas , salada de frutas. Havia banana, Maçã e tangerinas inteiras, mas prefiro fatiadas.

Atendimento educado é normal da recepção! Café da manhã fraco, isolamento acústico bom, quartos e roupas de cama e banho bom! Não gostei do banheiro para tomar cortina de tecido molhava todo o banheiro, o chuveiro é aquelas duchas horríveis que pelo fato do banheiro ter aquelas cortina e ainda por cima de tecido molhava todo o banheiro! Só não dei nota máxima por isso!

Ha sido una estancia de un día porque solo estaríamos un día en Aveiro, pero me hubiera quedado siempre ahí, muy cerca del centro y todo muy a mano, zona tranquila, me ha encantado seguramente vuelva. Por solo poner un pero, la cuna de la niña me costaba 8€ la noche y eso me parece un poco excesivo del resto genial.

Ha sido una estancia de un día porque solo estaríamos un día en Aveiro, pero me hubiera quedado siempre ahí, muy cerca del centro y todo muy a mano, zona tranquila, me ha encantado seguramente vuelva. Hotel is beautiful and really nice location, free parking outside and short walk to town. Rooms are spacious and bathroom is big. Room was cleaned everyday and the hotel is in excellent condition. Breakfast was varied and lots of choice, i think it was 8€ pp, very fair. A few issues though... you can smoke outside in the main area but people left the doors open so smoke smell came into the main hotel which wasn't nice especially because im pregnant. Maybe put up signs to tell guests to close the door behind them? Also they charge quite a lot for gym access, usually a hotel gym is free use for guests, i thought that was a bit stingy. And finally, we were woken up at 1am from the hotel reception to ask if we were smoking in our room, obviously not but the alarm had set off. They disrupted us again and said they needed to reset the alarm. We never got an apology for this or explanation the next say and it severely disrupted my sleep - again I'm pregnant so this was really tough.
