Bel hôtel, bien situé dans Sintra, avec des espaces communs (salons, terrasse, piscine extérieure) très agréables et au calme. Le petit déjeuner est également très bon. Toutefois, au regard du prix pratiqué, les chambres manquent cruellement : - de confort : lit de 140 cm de large car c'est du mobilier "d'époque", matelas sans indépendance de couchage, une mini bouteille d'eau pour 2 et 2 misérables capsules de café (qui ne sont pas réapprovisionnées automatiquement) tout le reste du minibar étant payant - de calme : aucune isolation (on entend tout du couloir et de la chambre voisine), le jour passe à travers la porte de la chambre (on voit le couloir par le haut et par le bas de la porte une fois la porte fermée) - point de détail, mais pour le niveau affiché de l'hôtel il manque également une salle de sport En somme si vous venez pour l'extérieur foncez, en revanche si vous cherchez le confort et le calme dans votre chambre passez votre tour.

Palacio de Seteais is one of the loveliest hotels we have stayed at. The location is fantastic, the palace is beautiful and the service is top-notch. The front desk staff was very welcoming when we arrived and helped us to book a trip around Sintra. The spa is also wonderful -- Catia is so kind and creates a great atmosphere for relaxation. We truly loved our experience and hope to come back soon!

Realmente todo fue excepcional. La toma de contacto con el huesped fue inmejorable y a partir de ahi todo. El desayuno es de lo mejor! Las instalaciones siendo invierno no lucian tanto. Para volver!!

Staff is terrific. Room lacked nothing more than one skinny chair. Heat did not operate. Setting gorgeous. Management at desk were excellent. Bar people excellent. I will return & hope for two chairs in room & heat that actually works.

There were lots of special touches by this friendly and professional staff here that made us feel taken care of from check in to check out. The property is beautiful (the building itself as well as the gardens) and it was very easy to both park and walk to downtown Sintra. Everything is so elegant feeling.

Colazione eccellente, personale gentile ma la struttura è vecchia, neceasir dice manutenzione, le cameee piccole il letto piccolo e sxomodo, la cosa peggiore è il fatto che la camera era piano terra e fuoei ci sono i visitatori fuori. Assolutamente non da 5 stelle

There was an ant problem in the room, my room had a leak in the bathroom THat needed to be fixed. The plumber came up to fix it when we left the room buy when we came back hours later, the plumbers tools were sprawled in the bathroom and the tiles were still t removed. We needed the room asap- we needed prepare for a wedding. It took 15 minutes fr him to come up and get the room ready for us to shower. Also when I checked out , iwI as given a bill for $180 euro. My bill was much less. I asked about it and he changed it, but on top of the ants and the plumbing issue- it was too much. Beautiful but my 3-day stay as filled with too many issues!

Property in person does not at all appear how it is presented in the website and certainly doesnt feel like a 5 star hotel. Very tired..staff is not overly attentive...room was extremely dissapointing. Over priced for the experience.

For the cost of this hotel, I expected a bit more. I was traveling with my friend and had requested a room with 2 twin beds and got a confirmation from the hotel that the request was confirmed. But unfortunately, they did not have a room with twin beds for us and told me that I had requested a double bed - which I didn't. I had to show the email i received from the hotel staff member with the confirmation from the hotel o show that I had indeed asked for 2 beds. In itself, that wasn't a big deal, but I thought they might have showed they were sorry some other way - perhaps a bit off of the bill or - because we dined at the fancy restaurant in the hotel - a glass of champagne or something. But it was pretty much like we're sorry and that's it. We spent over 600 for one night with dinner at their restaurant. And while we were there, the power went out in Sintra - so crazy! Which I realize isn't there fault, but still added to the overall experience - thankfully their backup generator came on. Some guests didn't have hot water! This also isn't the best place to stay in terms of getting to the city center - it's a one way street and to go around to get back to the city center takes like 50 min via car. So be prepared to walk. Going down the big hill is easy - coming up the hill is not. Sintra is still an amazing place though. The hotel does seems like it could use a little refresh in the decor too. I think the property just changed owners - perhaps that's on their roadmap.

If you are looking to sweat off the Portuguese wine while sleeping, this is your place. I’ve never been so hot at a hotel and the AC was not operational. We managed to get a window open but had to use my shoe to prop it open. Finally to top it off we got very little sleep given our neighbour was testing the limits of apnea and snoring. If it’s not the peacocks crowing 24/7 then it’s staff having full conversations at 2AM just as you fall asleep. One more thing, don’t count on any shuttle service and plan on paying €15-20 for an Uber or the 20 minute hike up the steep hill. Disappointed given the high price!!

While the grounds were very nice and the staff quite friendly, we were very disappointed for the price we paid for the night. If you are looking to sweat off the Portuguese wine while sleeping, this is your place. I’ve never been so hot at a hotel and the AC was not operational. We managed to get a window open but had to use my shoe to prop it open. Finally to top it off we got very little sleep given our neighbour was testing the limits of apnea and snoring. If it’s not the peacocks crowing 24/7 then it’s staff having full conversations at 2AM just as you fall asleep. One more thing, don’t count on any shuttle service and plan on paying €15-20 for an Uber or the 20 minute hike up the steep hill. Disappointed given the high price!!

If you are looking to sweat off the Portuguese wine while sleeping, this is your place. I’ve never been so hot at a hotel and the AC was not operational. We managed to get a window open but had to use my shoe to prop it open. Finally to top it off we got very little sleep given our neighbour was testing the limits of apnea and snoring. If it’s not the peacocks crowing 24/7 then it’s staff having full conversations at 2AM just as you fall asleep. One more thing, don’t count on any shuttle service and plan on paying €15-20 for an Uber or the 20 minute hike up the steep hill. Disappointed given the high price!!

This was our second stay with Palacio de Seteais. Our first stay was 47 years ago . We always remembered the fabulous time we had and decide one day we would come back and we did! The staff was as attentive as I remembered and they went out of their way to make us feel at home.

The service is above and beyond a five star hotel experience. They are so attentive, so accommodating and excellent at keeping you well informed of what spots to visit, eat at, etc. We were on our honeymoon here and the staff had prepared such thoughtful champagne, port wine already decanted (tasted at least 10 years), fresh fruit, and a filled nespresso machine. I was even touched by their detail of providing us with one smaller pair of slippers and one bigger for my husband, and they are SO cute! We regretted not staying there longer as we left at 8am for our tour. They boxed up our breakfast but the breakfast buffet looked glorious from a slight peek. I absolutely will not forget the service of this restaurant as it made it an unforgettable experience. Thank you to the tall slender gentleman that checked us in (sorry I forgot your name but I hope you get credits for this review). You're the best!

For the cost of this hotel, I expected a bit more. I was traveling with my friend and had requested a room with 2 twin beds and got a confirmation from the hotel that the request was confirmed. But unfortunately, they did not have a room with twin beds for us and told me that I had requested a double bed - which I didn't. I had to show the email i received from the hotel staff member with the confirmation from the hotel o show that I had indeed asked for 2 beds. In itself, that wasn't a big deal, but I thought they might have showed they were sorry some other way - perhaps a bit off of the bill or - because we dined at the fancy restaurant in the hotel - a glass of champagne or something. But it was pretty much like we're sorry and that's it. We spent over 600 for one night with dinner at their restaurant. And while we were there, the power went out in Sintra - so crazy! Which I realize isn't there fault, but still added to the overall experience - thankfully their backup generator came on. Some guests didn't have hot water! This also isn't the best place to stay in terms of getting to the city center - it's a one way street and to go around to get back to the city center takes like 50 min via car. So be prepared to walk. Going down the big hill is easy - coming up the hill is not. Sintra is still an amazing place though. The hotel does seems like it could use a little refresh in the decor too. I think the property just changed owners - perhaps that's on their roadmap.

This is a unique property. In history, kings and queens stayed on site. The building is still a very impressive structure. The good...the front staff is wonderful. The breakfast is very good. The bad... The property is tired and BADLY needs a refresh. Important...the hotel is on a one-way road at the top of a mountain. A cab ride to town takes a half hour. The one way road circles the entire mountain before it turns back to town. You can walk down the one way road to town in about the same time...but the walk back up the mountain requires mountain goat DNA. Walk down and take a cab up.

When you stay at a castle or palace in Europe, you want to feel the history. This palace gives you a great feel! Room is wonderfully comfortable, and after you arrive and clean up, you can stroll the well-apointed and preserved rooms and hallways. We did not try the restaurant for dinner as we wanted to try places in town, but the breakfast was stellar. When booking here and driving, you may want to get directions from the hotel if you're driving in at night as the local streets can be a bit challenging to navigate and are one-way, but no biggie.

There were lots of special touches by this friendly and professional staff here that made us feel taken care of from check in to check out. The property is beautiful (the building itself as well as the gardens) and it was very easy to both park and walk to downtown Sintra. Everything is so elegant feeling.

Realmente todo fue excepcional. La toma de contacto con el huesped fue inmejorable y a partir de ahi todo. El desayuno es de lo mejor! Las instalaciones siendo invierno no lucian tanto. Para volver!!

Colazione eccellente, personale gentile ma la struttura è vecchia, neceasir dice manutenzione, le cameee piccole il letto piccolo e sxomodo, la cosa peggiore è il fatto che la camera era piano terra e fuoei ci sono i visitatori fuori. Assolutamente non da 5 stelle

Not a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. We had booked a driver for pick up at the airport and he never arrived. There were hairs in the bed and the bathroom. Several dishes on the lunch menu were out. The “suite” was just a large room without balcony. Windows could not be opened. Adding insult to injury we were treated not so nice by the breakfast manager, a 69-year old gentleman who argued with us. Almost like Faulty Towers. We will not come back.

Beautiful building and swimming pool a short walk up hill from the old town. The breakfast was spectacular. My room was very small with only a bed a very small table and side chair but the common areas in the hotel were spacious and empty. The staff was very nice.
