Not the most up to date hotel, but it was clean and the bed was comfy enough. It's a bit of a maze getting to the elevator from the front. The front desk people were terrific--they welcomed us back every time we walked in the front door. There's a free shuttle that will take you anywhere within a two mile radius which was very convenient.

Wanted to stay near Charlestown but not at casino. Charlestown is less than 2 miles away (and the casino is across the street for those who want it!). Bonus, they provide a shuttle - on request! - and will taken you and pick you up anywhere within 2 miles. Also has a nice outdoor pool which most area hotels do not.

The rooms are large and comfortable, the outdoor pool was a nice spot to relax at after our drive. The whole hotel was super clean and the staff accommodating. The breakfast in the morning was probably one of the best we've had at any hotel chain. Cannot say enough good things about this Holiday Inn Express.

Upon check-in desk clerk kept reiterating problems with system and room to me but not to woman who just checked in, in front of me? Very odd. Room was NOT cleaned. Hair all over toilet and floor in bathroom and on the towels. Disgusting. Pins and Bobby pins on the floor carpet in front of dresser where you walk. Worst thing was AC, it was 78 degrees so we turned AC DOWN and waited and waited it went up to 79 and felt as if it was just the fan on. Went and told him and he never said sorry, he tried telling us that’s normal?? We demanded another clean room with working AC. Next room was clean, but the AC thermostat in this room is on a motion sensor and it doesn’t come back on until you wave or walk in front of it. So when you’re sleeping all night and wake up sweating because the air has NOT turned on at all, it’s not a very pleasant stay. I would NOT recommend this hotel at all.

To begin with, Alyssa did a fantastic job of checking us in. Although it was her first solo night at the desk, she was fast and pleasant. The hotel is older, but everything was clean and inviting. The mattresses were firm, and the most comfortable that I’ve ever experienced in a hotel setting. The water pressure in the shower was great and there was an ample supply of towels. Although I skipped it, my husband enjoyed the breakfast.. Finally, the price was equal to the value of the stay. We would definitely stay here again.

I like that the hotel was accessible to the highway and to the casino. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bathroom was clean. The room was clean but had a faint smell. I had to spray lysol and turned the air conditioner up. The breakfast was okay

The staff was fantastic! Very friendly and helpful. The shuttle offered was very convenient for getting to and from the nearby casino. Breakfast the following morning was plentiful and continuously kept stocked/clean. The room was clean and free of bugs but you can tell they need to do some renovations. Stains on the ceiling above, some broken parts of the ceiling looking cracked. Bathroom was a little grimy. Mostly from age and the fact that there was no working fan to dissipate humidity. You can tell it’s damaging the walls and such. Very quiet. I barely heard any other guests.

King room is spacious. If you like a firm bed it will be good for you. Very uncomfortable to me. Staff was friendly. Shuttle service available for anywhere within 2 miles. That’s a nice perk. Nice location to restaurants. Vending machines.

This property is out of date. When we entered our room there was a musty smell. The furniture is old. The room was outdated. When we turned the water on to shower there was a high pitch squeal the entire time. The tv had to be no more than 30 inches. Very small. I would not recommend or return until there until some major updates done

Check in clerk was very professional in all aspects. The room was very clean and quiet. The only negative aspect is that the A/C unit was quite loud, turned it off at 1am and could hear A/C units in other rooms. Breakfast had a large selection of items with an attendant that kept everything stocked. Check out clerk was very unprofessional and appeared she just woke up and did not want to be there. Better value than hotels closer to the casino/racetrack, will stay here again.

The hotel was great, great location, clean and quiet. Front desk staff was a lil inpersonable, spoke in a robotic tone(dry). No eye contact or friendly welcome greeting... just sign here, her is your room key and wifi code.

The staff here was super friendly and super helpful. I loved the shuttle service, we could go check out restaurants and have a few drinks and not have to worry about driving. Hotel was very clean. The breakfast was very good,probably one of the best continental breakfasts we ever had. Super close to the casino as well. Great stay,we will definitely be back.

No smart TV so we couldn't cast from our computer. Channel list only--no guide. Asked for additional blanket and were told they didn't have any. Asked if we could have comforter from empty room and were told they were full. They were definitely not full as there were very few cars in the parking lot. We were asked upon arrival if we were IHG members. We said we weren't, and he signed us up. We WON'T be using it!

Check in clerk was very professional in all aspects. The room was very clean and quiet. The only negative aspect is that the A/C unit was quite loud, turned it off at 1am and could hear A/C units in other rooms. Breakfast had a large selection of items with an attendant that kept everything stocked. Check out clerk was very unprofessional and appeared she just woke up and did not want to be there. Better value than hotels closer to the casino/racetrack, will stay here again.

To begin with, Alyssa did a fantastic job of checking us in. Although it was her first solo night at the desk, she was fast and pleasant. The hotel is older, but everything was clean and inviting. The mattresses were firm, and the most comfortable that I’ve ever experienced in a hotel setting. The water pressure in the shower was great and there was an ample supply of towels. Although I skipped it, my husband enjoyed the breakfast.. Finally, the price was equal to the value of the stay. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is sufficient for a short stay in the small Charles Town, near so many restaurants and the casino. The breakfast is good too.

The rooms are large and comfortable, the outdoor pool was a nice spot to relax at after our drive. The whole hotel was super clean and the staff accommodating. The breakfast in the morning was probably one of the best we've had at any hotel chain. Cannot say enough good things about this Holiday Inn Express.

The breakfast was nasty; and I am a foodie. The eggs were watery (as if powdered or poured), the sausage did not seem to ne fully cooked. Cups were stuck together and not easy to separate. My overall stay was quiet, relaxing and enjoyable.

Great for a good night's rest. Quiet room and a comfortable bed. Good WiFI service. Overall clean. The desk staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Several breakfast options, all basic but meets industry standard in quality. No complaints.

I had requested a handicap accessible room with a roll in shower. We didn't get a handicap accessible bathroom so taking showers was out of the question for our 4 day stay.

This hotel and property grounds are well maintained. The staff is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. When we checked in I was informed that I received a Hotels.com discount on my 1 night stay. I asked if could still get a veteran’s discount. She looked it up and also gave me a veterans discount which was about an additional $40 off. The hotel offered a free shuttle service to the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races about a mile away. From here we had about a 15 min drive to Harpers Ferry, which was the reason that I picked this hotel. There was a free continental breakfast, pretty standard but limited seating. We took our food to the room and ate it there. The room was clean and spacious with a Kuerig machine and coffee pods. (Hint: bring your own pods and creamers). The only concern we had was the noisy elevator when you were riding in it. It just didn’t sound normal to us. Enjoy your stay here!
