Nice hotel but feels a bit tired for a 5*. Our too just looked out over the roof which wasn’t that inspiring. I noticed that plenty of the doors to rooms have scratches / scuffs on them? The pool area isn’t anything special.

Spa experience was good and the hydropool and facilities were very good. Went to the pool at 6.30pm on a Thursday and it was very busy. Restaurant, bar, breakfast and staff are all good. The bedroom was lovely unfortunately the aircon was useless and there was a high pitch noise outside the window. Between the heat and the noise, I couldn't sleep which took away greatly from an otherwise good stay.

Spa experience was good and the hydropool and facilities were very good. Went to the pool at 6.30pm on a Thursday and it was very busy. Restaurant, bar, breakfast and staff are all good. The bedroom was lovely unfortunately the aircon was useless and there was a high pitch noise outside the window. Between the heat and the noise, I couldn't sleep which took away greatly from an otherwise good stay.

Hotel is set in stunning grounds … but you need to venture beyond the hotel to find them. Golf Clubhouse setting is stunning, lots of great forest paths for walking or running. Hotel itself is ok, very worn in places, bedrooms currently being refurbished. It’s a real flaff to use pool .. having to book in advance. Room toiletries poor … tho Voya toiletries in spa. Staff are very attentive and helpful .. . reception, concierge and waiting staff. Felt more like 4* property than 5* … but the setting makes it.

Very relaxing night spent here. The spa was great and the rooms were very spacious. Loved the bathtub and the bed was very cosy. The Amber Lounge was delicious too!

Great resort hotel , one glaring issue I would have is the charge to use the steam room which is separated from the main pool and jacuzzi. After paying a very high price for a Monday night stay to charge an extra 25 euro to use the steam room was insulting. The steam room is part of an area with whirlpools etc. apart from that all good golf course was amazing !!

The hotel needs a bit of freshening up as there was stains on carpet etc. dinner and breakfast were very nice. What was disappointing though was that in order to use the swimming pool you need to book in advance . And you can only book for 45 minutes. The pool was booked out when we wished to use it (in fact it was almost totally booked out for the whole week). In the end we got to use the pool for 15 minutes. If you are paying for a 5 star hotel then surely you should get to use the facilities that make it 5 stars.

Lovely resort Check in pleasant with a very kind receptionist Breakfast was splendid served by wonderful staff . Spa facility/ pool was a wonderful treat. The only minor fault was the fact that a charge of €25 for use of aqua pool was not mentioned until I was checking out. All extra charges should be clear at booking stage or at check in. Mondays reception lady was abrupt and aloof.

Nice quiet place, bed very luxurious, breakfast was top notch. Knocked it down a star because you have to make an appointment to go to the hotel pool ( that’s free). There were limited spots, and I know there wasn’t a full pool at 7 am when I wanted to go before breakfast. This prevented me from swimming and made me sad.

From the moment we stepped into the entrance we were greeted and shown to the checkin desk. We had mentioned to the receptionist that we were only spending the night after getting married, not 2 minutes later a glass of bubbles appeared which totally surprised us. The checkin was smooth and our room very clean, spacious and more than we expected, with a turn down service arriving. We couldnt fault the room or its amenities at all;it was perfect. Dinner at the Amber lounge was also delicious, the service was fantastic and another surprise came from a little dessert saying 'congratulations' which made the dining experience amazing. Spa facilities are also lovely and peaceful. Overall this was a wonderful venue for us and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our day was magical. I would not hesitate to say this is one of the best hitels ive ever stayed in.

The grounds on the property are beautiful! The hotel was lovely, the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the room was pretty and comfortable. They even put robes and chocolates out on your bed at night before bedtime. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Lovely setting. Great pool. But far from 5-star service from in room dining to breakfast and checkout and food was mediocre. Poor soundproofing meant noisy wedding music permeation until 2.30am. Have stayed before. Still like it but will come with lower expectations than it suggests.

What a beautiful hotel. Set in fabulous surroundings, it has everything you need for the perfect getaway. Rooms are spacious and beds so comfortable. Food is excellent. We had breakfast and dinner on both days and couldn't find fault . It was excellent. Saying all of that, the hotels absolute treasure is its staff. They are gems. Very nice stay. Rooms were fantastic food was good, found the Amber lounge food really good and well priced. The clubhouse food and service was average, young staff who don’t seem to know what to do and food was just ok

One night stay, would have loved a longer visit. Every single member of staff that we met was professional, obliging and genuinely pleasant and in good form. That tells a lot about a hotel. We plan to return again.

What a beautiful hotel. Set in fabulous surroundings, it has everything you need for the perfect getaway. Rooms are spacious and beds so comfortable. Food is excellent. We had breakfast and dinner on both days and couldn't find fault . It was excellent. Saying all of that, the hotels absolute treasure is its staff. They are gems. What a beautiful hotel. Set in fabulous surroundings, it has everything you need for the perfect getaway. Rooms are spacious and beds so comfortable. Food is excellent. We had breakfast and dinner on both days and couldn't find fault . It was excellent. Saying all of that, the hotels absolute treasure is its staff. They are gems. So friendly, so welcoming, so amazing. They'd brighten up anyone's day.withthfoodorthechoices

Dinner service was a bit slow in regards yo ordering a drink and the delay in ordering food. Service throughout the rest of the hotel was fantastic as always.

Lovely resort Check in pleasant with a very kind receptionist Breakfast was splendid served by wonderful staff . Spa facility/ pool was a wonderful treat. The only minor fault was the fact that a charge of €25 for use of aqua pool was not mentioned until I was checking out. All extra charges should be clear at booking stage or at check in. Mondays reception lady was abrupt and aloof.

Excellent quality hotel & facilities. Staff were extremely attentive. As they say, it's the little things that matter the most. And here it was the little attentions to detail & the friendliness of the staff that made this shirt trip memorable. Definitely recommend

Hotel is set in stunning grounds … but you need to venture beyond the hotel to find them. Golf Clubhouse setting is stunning, lots of great forest paths for walking or running. Hotel itself is ok, very worn in places, bedrooms currently being refurbished. It’s a real flaff to use pool .. having to book in advance. Room toiletries poor … tho Voya toiletries in spa. Staff are very attentive and helpful .. . reception, concierge and waiting staff. Felt more like 4* property than 5* … but the setting makes it.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. Very nice hotel in lovely natural sourroundings. Spacious, comfortable, stylish bedroom with large modern bathroom. Good food and friendly service. Three dining options to choose from. I would have liked to have had a quite area to sit in to have a coffee or a drink, as the bar & lobby were very busy & quite noisy. Especially as there were a LOT of young families there over the New Year period and the bar felt that it was just an extension of a restaurant. Breakfast was good but my only gripe was that coffee was not served by the pot, we got a cup of coffee which was cold by the time we ready for it. Also it tasted like machine coffee...... A Cafetiere would be a nice option.

The grounds on the property are beautiful! The hotel was lovely, the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the room was pretty and comfortable. They even put robes and chocolates out on your bed at night before bedtime. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Very nice stay. Rooms were fantastic food was good, found the Amber lounge food really good and well priced. The clubhouse food and service was average, young staff who don’t seem to know what to do and food was just ok

Lovely setting. Great pool. But far from 5-star service from in room dining to breakfast and checkout and food was mediocre. Poor soundproofing meant noisy wedding music permeation until 2.30am. Have stayed before. Still like it but will come with lower expectations than it suggests.

The food quality at dinner was average at best. A strange menu with steaks and some fish offered for 2 people instead of individual portions Prices reflect the 5 star setting but the quality of the food served was below expectations

Very relaxing night spent here. The spa was great and the rooms were very spacious. Loved the bathtub and the bed was very cosy. The Amber Lounge was delicious too!

Everything was great except for the food. The room, amenities, spa, grounds are all amazing. Exceeded our expectations. Food wasn’t great. Over cooked every meal. And it seemed like they water down the drinks. But other than that great!

Hotel was amazing, great food and very helpful staff. A couple of notes. You need to book the pool times in advance. There is no easy way to get to the Fota house on foot from the hotel. Many thanks to hotel for helpings us out. Breakfast was substantial

On arrival, around midnight, a few people were congregating at the entrance smoking, not a great start to an apparent 5* guest arrival. I then loitered in the lobby until the night manager finally looked up from his screen before he gave me my room key and pointed me toward the elevator. Room was ok, I suspect it was nice in earlier days but the furniture felt dated and tatty which is excusable. What felt dirty was the mouldy grout in the shower and the silicone that looked like it had been applied with a spoon. Towels were replaced on housekeeping but soaps were not. Breakfast was top tier, very good standard of food for the cooked items. But the most disappointing part of the stay was inability to sleep due to the compulsory participation in the wedding event below the room. They had great music but it’s very tiresome when trying to sleep. I’d genuinely considered sleeping in the car it was so loud, not what you’d expect for what is considered a 5* luxury resort. I’d like to think that the ability to sleep is the most important factor of any hotel, and it’s not something this hotel sells at weekends! Very disappointing stay in general as I’d hoped to escape the hustle and bustle but ended up feeling as though I was sleeping above a night club - or trying to!

This hotel is gorgeous. The whole experience from start to finish was brilliant. All the staff were friendly & helpful. The room and bathroom were spacious and spotlessly clean. And the breakfast was lovely too with a great selection of everything. Hoping to return again sometime.
